Luckily we have only had to use their services for routine check ups and vaccinations, but they are always easy to get in touch with and have accommodating schedules. I highly recommend Kingsbrook Animal Hospital. I love it there so much that I drive 40 minutes each way even though there are plenty of vets in my area. I just got a dog for the first time 1 1/2 years ago, and Kingsbrook doctors and techs took the time to educate me about owning a dog. Every time my dog swallows something he shouldn't or gets sick and I call, they never hesitate to try to help me over the phone or get me a quick appointment if he needs to be seen. The environment is very loving and not at all overly clinical. My dog LOVES going there, and I'm not sure how many dog-owners can say that about their pets. The environment is very clean, professional, and friendly. I can't say enough good things about it.

The staff clear;y loves animals and I have never been treated in anything less than a respectful way. I absolutely love Kingsbrook Animal Hospital! We have had three pets (2 cats and a dog) in the care of Dr. Davis and Dr. Cook and their excellent staff. When our cat passed away, Dr. Davis hurt right along with us and gave our Getty the compassion and care of someone who really cares for these pets just like we do. For a short time, we adopted our neighbors dog when the owner had become terminally ill. Her pet was very ill herself and when we had to make the incredibly hard decisions, Dr. Cook was right there guiding us with the best information and choices he could offer. He even cried along with us when April passed away. They are loving, compassionate, knowledgeable and a first class operation. I wish many facilities that help us humans was a nice! You know how great I think KAH is if I drive an hour and half to get there and I have plenty of vets in my area. I would not go anywhere else. There staff is professional, kind, compassionate and they really make you feel special. Whenever you call they answer all your questions and are so understanding about you and your pet needs. My dog has had 2 surgeries there and Dr. Cook is the best. She had no complications and in both cases had a wonderful recovery. I have seen all the vets there and there all great. My dog also was treated for food poisoning and she had the best of care and again had a great recovery. If you need a sick appt., I have never had a problem getting a same day appt. My pet has always received first rate care. If I could give them 6 stars, I would. The amount of time I spend traveling there is worth every penny.

I drive 27 miles each way to take my dogs to the fabulous doctors, technicians, and staff at Kingsbrook Animal Hospital. They have cutting edge equipment, attend national veterinary conferences, offer exceptional customer service, and take care of your pet as if it were theirs. When your pet goes in for a surgical procedure, you are given a direct telephone number to the veterinary technician who is monitoring your pet. You can call or text as many times as you'd like and talk to the technician about your dog. The level of care they offer is beyond any other veterinarian I've experienced. I can recommend Kingsbrook Animal Hospital without reservation. They are simply the best.

I have been taking my dogs to Kingsbrook since 2002. I have pretty much met all the doctors there at one time or another, the staff there is the great and the friendliest people ever. I love how they give spreadable cheese on the dogs when getting their shots. Everytime I have evr called they were nice on the phones, never nasty, or short. They explain everything in great detail, with what is going on. I have nothing but great things to say about them. Never had a problem what so ever in the several years I have been going there. I'm always leery when I make an appointment with a new or unfamiliar veterinarian in this practice, as I have my favorites. But, sometimes we want to get an appointment as soon as we can or that will work for our schedule, so I took the first available appointment with Mr. Palm. My husband and I both liked her immediately, and our Jaxon got excellent care. She called the next day to check up on him and was very thorough making sure all of our concerns were met. We will definitely be making appointments with her again. Hopefully not soon, though, as I'm hoping our pups stay healthy. Thanks Kingsbrook!!

I have been taking my cat here for well over 2 years. She is super shy but they always make her feel at ease and myself as well (which is hard to do for sure). My Mother's cat got really sick about a year ago and I recommended that she take her here. Needless to say they fixed her up in no time! She is well over 15 years old and running around like a kitten now :). KAH even called multiple times to check up on her and everything. Amazing service!! I recently got a new kitten and we moved roughly 45 minutes away but I still plan on making the trip because I know the kind of care my kitten will get at KAH. Kingsbrook animal hospital goes above and beyond to make sure that they treat you and your pet as part of their own family. My 4 pound Yorkie needed to undergo surgery to remove 13 bladder stones and have his teeth removed!! I was terrified to put him into surgery, but everybody at Kingsbrook completely put my mind at ease! Dr. Davis took extra time to explain what was going on with our dog and how he would correct the problem. He even gave my 6th grader a quick biology lesson utilizing the x-rays of our pup! On the day of the surgery the technician personally text messaged me before they started surgery and the staff made several phone calls to keep me updated during and after! They put my mind at ease and assured me he was doing great! Post-op my dog is so much happier and healthier! Not even 1 week later and I have already received three check-up phone calls from Dr. Davis; not because he has to check in, but because I honestly believe he cares about our dog’s recovery! I highly recommend Kingsbrook Animal Hospital to anyone who is looking for a veterinarian for their pets. They’re not your ordinary vet clinic. They’re more like a family whose number one priority is to keep you and your pet as happy and healthy as they possible can!

KAH was amazing! We just moved to Frederick and our one cat developed this strange cough out of no where that we were concerned about. Trying to find a new Vet is like trying to find a new dentist! You want someone you can trust, especially with your fur babies. Dr. Kemper, Rush, Nina, and Elizabeth were above and beyond helpful with our situation. They even got us in same day, last minute, and we are so grateful for them. They treated our cat so calmly and very gentle. Our cat takes a light sedative when she visits the vet because she is very anxious and fearful but with having an issue involving her throat, I didn't want to give her any meds. They were so patient with her and even though she still acted out slightly, she was calmer than I'd ever seen her without the light sedative. I can't thank them enough and we look forward to bringing our other fur babies there in the future!

Thought I picked the right vet for my dog. They're not the cheapest vet. Seemed very caring. Until, my dog is having an issue. Need to bring her in. The time they had available was just not possible. Of course if I'm willing to pay almost twice as much they'll certainly see my dog. I don't care how nice the people are, and how good they may be compared to other vets. This speaks volumes to me about what they really stand for.

Kingsbrook Animal Hospital took great care of my pet rat, Helen, during her recent illness. Not only were they able to fit her in to their busy schedule, but everyone was very friendly, accommodating and compassionate. When it turned out that Helen may have some serious underlying health issues that would require diagnostics that may be potentially excessively stressful for her, they presented me with my options in a very clear way and allowed me to make my plan for her care without pressure. I really appreciate a vet clinic that has the capability to provide comprehensive diagnostics but also evaluates each animal on a case-by-case basis and takes their best interests into consideration. I would definitely recommend Kingsbrook to other animal owners!!

We have an older dog who suffers from allergies (and now old age). We brought our dog into Kingsbrook because his allergies had caused an infection in his ear and on his paw. We also wanted to have multiple growths looked over. The front desk staff was very welcoming. They never rushed us or made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. Once in the exam room, our appointment ended up lasting 1 1/2 hrs! I was shocked that we never felt rushed or anything. The technician and the vet were very kind and patient. They went over all of our options without it sounding like a sales pitch. They provided us with estimates with all possible options BEFORE performing any tests so that we could decide what we wanted/could afford to do. We were pleasantly surprised by the fees etc. Very reasonable. They all made us feel like our dog was special and important (you don’t get that with every vet). Based on our first appointment experience we would recommend Kingsbrook.

I love, love, love this place -- and so do our dogs (they love the attention they get from every single person in this office!). Whenever our dogs have needed emergency visits, they always fit us in the same day. Whenever our dogs have had inpatient treatment, they called regularly with updates and sent pictures. Our doctor has always taken the time to talk to us and answer questions, no matter how ridiculous they are. It's easy to make appointments and get prescriptions refilled -- and, by the way, our dogs' flea and tick and heartworm meds are cheaper here than at Costco or even online. They make recommendations about treatment but have never been pushy about getting us to spend unnecessary money. Every person on staff -- from admin folk to vet techs to our vet -- is incredibly patient and caring. Like other reviews have said, not the cheapest place, but I get what I pay for here, and I can't imagine taking my dogs somewhere else.

All of the doctors have been amazing here. We left our last place because we felt unnecessary and expensive tests were ordered to make money for the practice. Not to really benefit our animals. This place does not do so. They aren't "selling" you. They genuinely care about your animals. Numerous times the vets have sat on the floor with our pups. The techs are SO friendly and knowledgeable. Good quality care but it comes at a premium. This place is much more expensive than vets in the surrounding area. When we contacted their facility to pick up new heart preventatives, they said they would need to schedule a physical exam before they could release it to me. The last time we were there, a simple exam was around $150 just to see the vet, which doesn't count all the ear flushes, foams etc they push on you. Any follow up fecal test will run you $50. I am new to the area and new to Kingsbrook Animal Hospital. My boyfriend and I were concerned about our senior Persian cat Mr. Peabody. I called and they were able to fit him in immediately. My boyfriend was able to take him in while I was at work. Even though I was not there personally, they made me feel comfortable and at ease with everything that was going on. After a week or two, I even got a follow-up call asking how Mr. Peabody was doing and go to over the next steps for his health. It made me teary-eyed with happiness that he called to follow-up. we LOVE Kingsbrook! We moved from another Frederick Vet that I wasn't happy with to Kingsbrook when we got our Berner puppy. From the first they have been terrific all the way around, from the whole staff up front to the techs to Dr. Cook. They take the time needed, respect input, are endlessly patient- and Ellie loves them. When she developed a food sensitivity, they worked with us to find a diet that works, and they accurately diagnosed a OCD of the shoulder and referred us to a terrific surgeon. They even filled out the paperwork for insurance for me and took care of the process. I can't recommend them highly enough!

Kingsbrook Animal Hospital is by far the best veterinary clinic we've been to for our 3 dogs. We have one dog with epilepsy and various ailments that seem to crop up, and another one with a chronic skin condition. Dr. Cardella and Dr. Walker have been nothing short of phenomenal. But don't forget about the unsung heroes, the veterinary technicians. They are so incredibly patient and caring, it's not something you can fake. Another huge plus is that this clinic actually tests your pet before tossing out generic guesswork prescriptions, they work very hard to accurately diagnose an issue and come to the best treatment available. I cannot describe the relief in finding a whole network of people on the same page who I can trust to give me and my beloved pets the best care possible. I have been taking my furry babies to Kingsbrook Animal Hospital since 2003, when I moved to the area. I have English Bulldogs and cats. Bulldogs are very special breeds who need vets who absolutely know what they're doing and know the breed. These doctors are the BEST. When we had a pup (Leo) in 2007 who had liver shunts, they referred us to a specialist but followed up on Leo's care until the very end. When he passed, they sent us a very nice sympathy card, signed by all, and followed it with a personal phone call. Now that my eldest bulldog (11 1/2) is ailing with a corneal ulcer, the doctors have explored all options with me and ensured that I understood everything that needed to happen. I always feel confident that they will do the right thing for my beloved pets and that they truly care about my pets AND about me. You really couldn't find a better medical facility for your babies.

We took our puppy here for the first time a couple weeks ago. The experience was awesome! The wait wasn't long, the vet tech was very experienced, knowledgable, personable and acted like he cared and wasn't rushing through our appointment. The vet herself, Dr Riley, was also amazing. Once again, not rushing and very friendly. We even received a tour of the facility, which I have never had before at any vet clinic. I was also personally called by Dr. Riley who wanted to talk to me about my puppy having roundworms. I have NEVER received a phone call from a vet. Ever. Of course, it is a vet so it gets pricey, but it's not astronomical. I even looked up the flea and heart worm prevantative that I got from the vet (6month supply of each) vs petmeds online and the vet's office turned out to be cheaper than petmeds! I will most definitely bring my puppy and also my cats (who are in need of their yearly shots) back.

I'm so glad I chose Kingsbrook Animal Hospital to bring my leopard gecko to. The front desk staff were very friendly and were very accommodating when scheduling my appt. Dr. Palm and the techs were so helpful and helped clear up my gecko' s eye as well as give me tips on how to prevent the issue from happening again. They called a few days after my appt to check in and also mailed me a nice welcome letter. I'm moving out of the area soon and wish I would have found Kingsbrook a while ago. Prices were what I expected for an exotic animal. Would highly recommend!

I take my dogs here and have for the last 6-7 years or so. Love all of the doctors (we see all of them really because they're all great!) and the staff is always friendly and amazing. Like anywhere else, proper vet care for pets can be costly. The basic care (routine check ups, vaccines, and monthly flea & heart worm prevention) for one dog can be thousands a year...especially your first year as a pet owner...But you won't find the level of care and personalized attention anywhere else but here. They treat my dogs as if they were theirs, and my dogs are never afraid to walk through those doors! (They LOVE the attention! Lol)

I have been coming to Kingsbrook for 4 years now. Gatsby is my first dog ever so I was clearly clueless about how to care for my dog. Kingsbrook has given me the tools, from day one, to set me up for success with my dog. He has been a bit challenging as he's a small dog that gets a foreign object in his stomach about once a year. They have held my hand for every surgery and for every tough moment I have had. They are great at giving me feedback on what to do with my dog and preparing me for the future with him and his potential procedures and upcoming bills for check ups and vaccinations. Whenever I call they pull up my information right away and have his history there which saves me a lot of time when explaining what's going on with him. They treat you like family the moment you step into the office and they always make sure to answer all questions and give you anything that you need. I use to live 2 mins away and now live 20 mins away and have a bunch of vets near me.I tell them every time I'm there that I will never go to another vet.

Kingsbrook is by far the best animal hospital in Frederick County. I have recently got a little pug puppy and not much after getting her she got into some bagels with raisins. I called them and they were so nice calming me down and giving me really sound advice. After taking her to the emergency animal hospital and keeping her on fluids they called me every day to make sure she was okay. She came out of the whole experience just fine. I really appreciated the kindness and concern for her. They are such great people from the front desk to the techs to the doctors.

My cat had a serious dental issue and we needed care right away. The staff went above and beyond to squeeze us in despite their full schedule. This office has been our vet since moving to Frederick. All of the staff are super friendly and caring towards all the family, furry and not. Dr. Cook specifically is phenomenal. My little 2 year old kitten ended up having bladder stones. When I got the call about it Dr. Cook, who was already staying late to give me the news, told me he'd go ahead and do her surgery that day so she didn't have to be in pain any longer. And at the sad time of a pet's passing, the staff are caring and sympathetic. They all have furry family members so they understand how hard it is and the sorrow that comes with it.

Best hospital I've ever been to. I brought in my leopard gecko to check out his weird tail shed and for a general checkup. Every single member of staff was incredible. I drive from just outside Wash DC to bring my four dogs to Kingsbrook because I think the care they receive is worth the trip. I started working with Kingsbrook while doing rescue work and quickly learned that they are not like many of the other vets I've worked with. These guys "know" my dogs -- from the moment I walk in they are greeted by name and the doctors know individual quirks for each one. The techs are super and the front staff is without equal. Since moving to Frederick 5 years ago, Kingsbrook has been our veterinarian office. They take excellent care of our dog and cat. A few years ago, my cat was very very sick and Dr. Cardella tried everything she could to help him, with successful results. You know it's a great place to work to when there is not an employee turnover from the front desk to the vet techs that now know us by name. Even the programs they run for children (and possible future veterinarians) to the events such as the haunted house and photos with Santa makes this a very special place. I give it 10 out of 5 stars!!!

Unreasonably overprice. The reason I decided to check out this place was because of all the high ratings that I saw here. Comprehensive exam is a comprehensive which should include a routine and a problem visit. They will charge you extra for more problems you mention about your pet. It was ridiculous. I Didn't expect to pay around $300 for 1st exam-that didn’t do include heart worm/ flea and tick prevention or microchip. When my pet was due for another booster shot, they wanted to charge another exam fee $50 for a 30 sec follow up on the problem which was already resolved. First and last time here. I have too many pets to afford this place. Its kind of a shame that you cant express all your pet concerns to the vet cuz they will charge extra for each problem. There are many other vet places around town so save your money and do some research.

My furbaby Pepe met his new vet today. Dr. Cook is the kindest, most thorough vet we have ever had. He held and kissed Pepe like he was his own, spending a lot of time with us learning about his history. He has a warm personality and is truly an animal lover. He and the techs listened to all of my concerns and I never felt rushed by anyone. The entire staff here is amazing, holding him so lovingly during his shots and cuddling him. The front desk girls were also helpful and wonderful. I had an entire team of people helping us during our visit and they could not have been nicer. So happy my baby is in such good hands. If anyone is looking for a new vet, this is where you want to be.

It's very difficult to find vets that are knowledgeable about 'pocket' pets beyond moving: good / not moving: bad. My 9 yr old rabbit had some stroke-like event and the Docs at Kingsbrook were very knowledgeable and offered several options from supportive care to referral for full diagnostics.
