We have the opinions of real people like you who purchased the services and products of Johnson-McKee Animal Hospital (Veterinarian) in the state of Maryland.
At the present this business has a rating of 4.2 stars over 5 and the score is based on 104 reviews.
As you can read, it reaches an reviews average is really high, and it is based on a very high number of feddbacks, so we can think that the score is very reliable. If people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to give scores when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Veterinarian belongs to the category of Animal hospital.
I board my two old corgis whenever we travel. This time my 14 1/2 year old was being watched inside because she was lethargic. The people at Johnson McKee take wonderful care of both my babies, always!.
Dr Peter's is extremely caring and thoughtful. He did everything he could to save our dog. Thank you for all your efforts. Everyone else was very kind.
If you care anything about your dog take it somewhere else !!
They took care of my Kitty when he was ill, and they took in some brand new born kittens we found in the cemetery. Very helpful. When my kitty passed away, they sent me a condolence card. They are very professional, good people.
EXCELLENT SERVICE!!! Dr. Peters treated my cat with love and care, Bynx suffered a stroke on top of an upper respiratory infection on top of ear infection, After going to 2 other previous vets we went to Dr. Peters who saved Bynx from fighting for his life to an already up and learning to walk again kitty. If you want a Vet in Salisbury who will give it to you straight, honest and take care of your loved one , GO TO DR. Peters! God bless! Let it be known i am very critical of who i give reviews too, This office deserves 5 stars. **Update** i dont understand how people are saying there costly, because we thought compared to all the vets in the area they are very inexpensive, even so , the care was wonderful you get what you pay for!
So friendly and patient...puppy loves it too
Caring
Kept my cat there for 2 days for a bad tooth and dehydration thought he'd be okay and he came home and died. Only good thing they did was tell me who to call for cremation
Very professional. They always want to check up on my cats health. A bit on the expensive side though.
Very friendly! A little expensive but what vet isn't?
Always nice, always on time, low cost
Great service and animal care
I’m rating two stars because the front staff were extremely nice. I took my service dog in who is a cancer patient in for a yearly review. On 03/14/2019. Dr. Culver ran blood work, 2 X-rays and that’s it. Now my past vet in another state gave my dog about a year to live due to the type of cancer. Dr. Culver comes in and says her blood work looks great her X-rays look great I see no masses in her chest you can expect to have her around for a good while longer. Me naturally gets happy. Fast Forward three days Later 03/17/2019 we are in pets ER my service dog is not clotting and has internal bleeding, her tumor has ruptured and she has to be put to sleep. I have given this vet two tries with my dog. I will not be back. I am just so dumbfounded and lost with out my best friend and companion of 8 years.
Thank you so much for taking care of our Peanut he is our baby and are so thankful for your care and passion to see him well.
I have been taking my animals here since 2006, they legitimately care about the health and welfare of both my animals and I. Very family based atmosphere here.
Great staff. Great doctors. Saved my dogs life. They do care about the animals that walk through the door.
These guys are awesome! They are so helpful and understanding. They put the welfare of the animals about everything else; which is the way it should be! Highly recommend to anyone within 30 mi of their facility. I was sad to move away and have to find a new vet.
Looking for a new vet, we've been a loyal customer for 15 years. They act like they don't even know us or our animals. Nobody, since they're female vet left a couple years ago, EVER LISTENS TO MY DOGS WITH A STETHOSCOPE! Never! My dogs are petrified just being in the parking lot. And, yes..very expensive, and they do not care.
Extremely disappointing experience. They turned away one of their very own patients in a medical emergency (suffering from bloat). One star is too good as far as I am concerned.
They care about your pets like they are their own.
We have been patients here for at least 18 years and will continue until they close their doors for food. The vets are knowledgeable each in his or her own way and you can find traditional as well as innovative people to tend to your pets needs.
Always get me in when my dog needs to be seen.
Got us in quick. Was genuinely concerned about Kiba and was interactive with his owner my 4 year old daughter . They were very upfront about what things would cost and gave us a choice on how we were to have him treated. At the end things were cheaper then expected. As much as I love snuggling up to a sleepy kitty I can't wait for his antibiotics to kick in to have a healthy playful kitty too.
Friendly. Tinker doesn't hate them; so there is that, too.
Very compassionate and caring staff
Not happy with service. Been going there to long to be treated poorly
I love this place. They with with my budget and with my dogs needs. Dr Ayresman is great with my dog Koda.
If I could give ZERO I would. Adrienne, office manager and Dr. Culver are completely heartless. Dr. Culver refused to look at my dog when he could barely walk. WOULD NOT EVEN LET HIM IN THE DOOR. There were 6 appt spots available ranging from 6:40pm until 7:50pm. I was continuously told that Dr. Culver didnt have time to see my baby. Dr. Culver clearly has no care for dogs. Continuously brushed off and told to just go to Pet Er. Had any other vet been on duty, my dog would have AT LEAST BEEN SEEN. My family has used Johnson Mckee for 15+ years and ever since they became a corporate company, their customer service has become terrible. So disappointed. I will not ever suggest their office again, all because Dr. Culver is heartless.
Family feeling
I take both my cat and bulldog here and all of the doctors have been great! They also have evening and weekend hours which is great for our schedules and for emergencies.
Always very pleased my dog hurt it's leg i moved couldn't get another vet to see Abby called mckee they took her right away.
Excellent,and caring staff.
They could care less about any animal that isn’t a cat or a dog. They’ll try and get you to pay 450$ for a surgery to remove a tumor which is almost gaurenteed to come back but when you ask if you can just uthenise them they’ll say no you have to wait until your pet is barely clinging to life to help real humane
Been taking my animals there for 19 years and have never had a problem being seen. Even on short notice they manage to fit us in. Dr. Culver has always been my "go to", but feel confident in the abilities of the whole staff.
It's ok.
Incredibly nice people. My cat was having a medical emergency and they fit her in Dr. Melanie Culver, who saw her, was so kind and cognizant of my kitty's feelings. I didn't have to wait for a long time, the doctor figured out the problem immediately as well as how to fix it and she did it without ordering a bunch of expensive tests. Also, when I called later to ask if a reaction was common, I again got a great answer and an invitation to call again if I had any more concerns. I highly recommend
Unfortunately we lost our dog she had to be put to sleepbut the doctor was incredibly kind incredibly good at his job I would highly recommend it to anyone who needs of that
Great staff and service
Very friendly place
Went there with new pup. Vet was very focused on the care of my new Wheaton Terrier. He took time with me and we got all other 2nd month's shots. Friendly people from the front desk to billing.
We took a feral stray kitten we found limping to them, and we were told she had a broken leg at the growth plate. Charged us a small fortune and even gave us a reference to a surgeon who wanted almost $4000 to do the surgery...Got 2nd opinion from another vet who placed a cast on kittens leg....it has been about 5 weeks now, cast is gone and kitten is doing GREAT...rolling around, running and jumping with our other cats. Without any limitations... Johnson- McKee should be ashamed of themselves...... In my opinion they are only over priced con artist dog groomers at best...
I've been with Johnson Mckee for twenty years and they have treated many of my animals. The staff is truly wonderful when it comes to the happy times of introducing your new member to the family; to their concern when your furry friend is not feeling well; and the compassion shown when you have to say goodbye. They are the best and there are a few at Johnson Mckee who have been there for me through it all.
Great vet care but one of the three most expensive in the area.
Been going there for 40 years and would not go to any vet. Caring attentative staff.
Friendly and caring staff.
Kind. Caring and gentle
Very friendly, reasonably priced. Took me in on Saturday morning without an appointment to save me a 60 mile round trip back
We have been taking our many animals here for years upon years, and before that my wife's family brought their animals. Honestly, it feels a little dated when you walk in. BUT, the vet care is amazing. There's no hard sell of unneeded treatments, and they are compassionate about the animals and the owners. They also have boarding on site which we have used on multiple occasions.
wait time is unreasonable. Would understand if lobby was full or if there was an emergency. But lobby was empty & no emergency.
Took great care of my mom's dog
So far so good. Good care for my cockapoos Always attentive and available. My babies are happy and healthy.
Front staff is poorly trained to deal with their duties. Vet techs are extremely rude and need a lesson in customer service. The veterinarians care little about the actual "patients" and only see $$$. The one compassionate vet they actually had, left for greener pastures.
They are good with my dogs, but pricey. We took our bearded dragon there because he wasn't eating and they just sent us home with instructions to force feed it. Continued to call for advice and questions and was dismissed. We went 3 weeks prior to him passing. They said force feed and monitor . We continued to update them. Took him in again and no further advice was given.
Great doctors and staff
Our vet of choice for 15 years.
Was just at johnson-mckee over the weekend with my puppy while we were visiting family in Maryland. They saved me from having to make the 2.5 hour trip home to my regular vet or from spending a ton of money at the doggie "ER". The staff was super nice and so glad they were able to take us on a Saturday! Thanks for taking care of shady!
Saved my cats life after stroke
Extremely caring and competent staff. Drs Culver and Peters are the best!
Good people.
Best doctors on the shorr
Dr. Peters and the rest of the staff here are amazing! Adrienne is a great help and always returns calls or emails in no time. They offer super flexible appointment scheduling and accept CareCredit, and they're also able to split payments (like charging a portion to a credit card, and the other portion paid in cash, for example). We are always treated like family here, and my pets love it here!
They are very professional and courteous. Chippie likes all the Vets there. They treat all their clients like they're the only client they have. I wouldn't go any other place.
One of the best vets in Salisbury!
I just took my cat to Johnson McKee. We won't be going back. The vet was 45 minutes late for my appointment because he was chatting with another client who did not have an appointment. I was there for over an hour in total. I had to go to the front desk to ask if the doctor was coming in to see us. We got several excuses - never any acknowledgement that my time is valuable too or that I, in any way, matter. Two people said they were going to check for me and never came back. The doctor spent less that 4 minutes with my pet. The bill was $100 for a quick glance at the cat's skin and a shot. I think I should have asked for a discount on the office visit cost because of the wait and the lack of attention to my pet.
I've used this vet for years off and on. I do have another vet that I will go to for simple things (vaccines, minor cuts, ear infection) who is more affordable as Johnson McKee is not the cheapest. But I will tell you, anything serious I use them. They have a whole team to make sure my fur baby is OK. My dog just recently got neutered at 12yrs old due to prostate problems and testicular cancer. They eased my worries and fears for having surgery on a 12yr old dog. I went in a couple days later since I was a worried mom and just wanted to make sure everything was healing properly and they were happy to check on him for me! The surgery was pretty expensive due to his size and biopsy, but they allowed me to break it down in payments so I didn't have to sell my kidney (which I would do to save my dog). Dr. Culver and Dr. Peters are amazing at what they do, and they really care. I highly recommend them!
Very friendly staff and knowledgeable vet. Hard to find a vet that knows guinea pigs.
Very efficient ,Dr. Poisker is very compassionate and caring.
