They are a very friendly, organized staff who love all their 4-legged customers. I just wished they had grooming coupons. :-)
Very attentive and the portal was very easy to use . Made the visit that much quicker . I have been using IHAH for about 15 years and have seen them through many changes . The one thing I will say through all the changes that have occurred the level of service never faltered . I to have lost 4 animals since I have been coming here . One was a cat that I could not afford treatment for and one of the staff adopted him so he would not be euthanized ( So thankful ) the other three were dogs , One developed Lyme disease and could no longer walk the other got Cancer and the last had Kidney failure . Through out all of this , This hospital was there reaching out in whatever way they could to make it easier on my babies . I highly recommend this hospital and am thankful for all they do !
First time I had to take my four legged child to the hospital was when I noticed my furry child (Montias) had purple spots/blotches over his entire body. Dr. Stacie, was very patient and understanding, she ran several test and monitored him very closely for a few months. He was placed on medication and has made a full recovery. I'm now able to schedule him for his annual shots thanks to Dr. Stacie and staff. The staff in very companionate, very professional and understands how we truly love or fury children. Thanks Indian Head Staff.... V/r, CW
I've taken ALL of my 4 legged babies here since the 1990's. The staff is friendly & seems to care for a love your pet/family like they're their own. Stacy has been my veterinarian since the 90's and she is the BEST¡! JMO
Indian Head Animal Hospital is a very big part of why I love the community of Fort Washington. I have been a client there for 13 years and it is extremely comforting knowing quality and affordable care is close by. I have come to know the staff and the doctors well over the years. I never even feel compelled to request a specific doctor as I have always received excellent care from every member of their staff. I have a lot of pets and I have had to run to them for emergencies more than I care to remember. They always have been able to see me and their prices are very reasonable.
I have been bringing my dogs here for 28 years. There are no better doctors or no better pet boarding the Metro Area than Indian Head. They are so compassionate and caring. I highly recommend this hospital and boarding facility to everyone.
Nice caring staff and they talk good care of my babies.
Helped so much when my GiGi got hit by car and died. Thank you
When I brought my pet here for boarding and grooming, the final services were very poor. Customer service was lacking, I never received updates, and when I tried to address concerns about my pet’s care, the staff became very defensive and made misleading and untruthful comments about my pet’s care. I was also charged for services not rendered.
We arrived at 10 and were immediately greeted and taken into the exam room, Ms Harley was quite coooerative and we were out in less than 10 min. And back home, whole trip and exam was less than 30 min. This was an excellent visit. hoping Ms. Harley is feeling better.
Excellent service
My husband and I recently got a puppy and brought him here for an exam and for his shots. We were greatly pleased with the customer service and care taken by all staff members! We look forward to bringing our pup here for all of his health care needs. Thank you!
Great service and the staff truly cares about our pets.
The staff are ALWAYS pleasant!!
(Translated by Google) Very good attention !!! (Original) Muy buena atención !!!
We've been taking my dogs here for years with no issues. Aside from providing healthcare they also have grooming and boarding services. It's in a very convenient location right off the highway. I would definitely recommend it to any one in the southern part of PG County.
Best vets in the area.
I hold Indian Head vet in very high regard. Over the years, they have treated three of our German Shepherds. Dr. Nessim, in particular, was our vet for most of the 10 years of the life of JerryLee. She was so compassionate about his health as he grew older and advised us how much treatment was best for JerryLee. And I just took in our Belle for her annual evaluation and shots, and learned something new once again from Dr. Nessim about the health of dogs. Wonderful!
I have been going to IHAH for many, many, years. The staff is wonderful, always has been. They have helped me through all the good and sad times we pet owners go through. They are amazing and I thank each and every one of the staff.
Been coming here for over 20 years. The wait times can be long, but the staff is always attentive to me. I especially like the fact that the dogs are usually greeted before I am.
Nice people. Small place. 1st time at a vet, so I didn't know what to expect.
Stop in to pickup food for my babes. Staff friendly, most Vets also.
Very caring staff for our furry friends.
I find that the Vets are as compasionate to the owners as the critters we love. I feel nothing but kind thoughts and appreciation..... Marilyn Marchant
Decades of service to our family. Everyone is great!
Fast and friendly
Our baby girl, aka, "Dixie" had a good experience this week . She felt so welcome she was actually licking the face of the young lady at the desk. A few years ago (right after we rescued her) she was having horrible issues with her bowels, etc. After a few visits the IHAH was professional enough to say that they could do no more and recommended her to an internal specialist. Fortunately she seemed to recover on her own, but it is very good to know that INAH puts the welfare of the pet over their own fees.
Indian Head Animal Hospital receives the highest accolades from our 4-legged family members. For well over 30 years, my family has entrusted the care of our dogs to Indian Head Animal Hospital. Truly, we are very satisfied with the knowledgeable veterinarians and the entire staff for their courteous, pleasant, and prompt services. A big Thank You.
I took the first of my 4 cats Jinx to Indian Head Animal Hospital based on reviews. I'm very happy I did Jinx had started drooling recently which concerned me so began searching for a vet with primarily good, great reviews. This hospital nailed it. The front desk personnel nailed it for me. A smile and a friend greeting just does it for me. I was seen fairly quickly we had a thorough exam all my questions were answered and all concerned addressed. I will definitely be bringing the rest of my feline gang in to Indian Head. Thank you all meow
I used to work there it was awesome!! I still continue to drive an hour and a half to have my fur babies seen by the awesome drs. and great, knowledgeable and friendly staff
Friendly staff. My dog likes.
Dr Nessim and the rest of the staff are always wonderful. They take pride in their work and their love of animals really shows.
Very caring and professional. Great routine and emergency medical services. Might not be the least expensive, but discounts are offered for multiple pets. Knowledgeable assistance provided with pet travel requirements and documentation.
Staff and doctors are very compassionate and understanding. They are also very helpful. My pet(s) always receive good treatment. They are good for putting me at ease.
Great place, good with animals, and nice staff
Excellent care and service. Highly recommend!
I would recommend this hospital to everybody! They have a great staff from the receptionists to the technicians to the kennel attedant, who are friendly and caring. The Veterinarians give the highest quality of medical care! What makes this place great is that they treat your pet like one of their own.
We take our rescue cat to this Animal Hospital. It is exceptionally caring and patient with the owners. I had an appointment but showed up at the wrong time and they were very gracious, fit me in and listened to my concerns. As we hear all the time....."well, as we age, things don't always work the way they should". They gave her a complete exam and sampled her blood just to be sure. We discussed her diet since she is not eating like she used to, they made suggestions, and today they called to say all of her labs are fine "for a cat her age". If you need a great vet clinic, go to Indian Head Animal Hospital.
Excellent professional, knowledgeable and compassionate staff. The best!!!
They are great with any animal that needs medical help
Friendly care staff
My first experience with grooming was great. I would give 5 stars however the lack of communication/professionalism to come pick up my fur baby who was sedated just didn’t happen When I arrived, the facility was closed.
Colonel Livingston aka my English Bulldog is in love with the staff of Indian Head Animal Hospital. When you first walk in the door the staff is always friendly and ready to serve. There is no other place I would want to go for my baby. The best in the land for Vet care.
I have been taking my pets to Indianhead Animal Hospital since 1989; we go back to when Dr. Eric & Andy were the primary vets. Indianhead Animal Hospital has a wonderful, loving practice; they will definitely make you feel like you and your pet are part of one big family; you're not just an account number to them. We currently have a 15 year old Mini Schnauzer and a 3 year old Golden mix with very different health needs and personalities. They greet your pet as if they were one of their own and they are very attentive to both the owner's and the pets needs and concerns. We have lost two golden retrievers to cancer; one was 9 years old and the other 7 years old, asymptomatic and died unexpectedly in our home. The sensitivity and care that they showed us during this very stressful time for our family was amazing. They allowed us to sit with our deceased pet and take as much as we needed to say goodbye. We were also able to consult with them when we were ready to think about getting a new pet for our family. The office staff is competent and efficient; it sometimes gets a little hectic taking the pets back to the office because the hallway that leads to the exam rooms is a little tight but that's not a big deal to me. They get you in and out pretty quickly but the visits are not rushed; I have rarely had to wait longer than 20 minutes and I am usually in and out in about 40-45 minutes (including the wait). I have always been able to get an appointment fairly quickly (2-3 days); when my dogs have been really sick I have been seen on the same day. All of the vets are wonderful, but my personal favorites are Drs. Young and Chesley. Indianhead is a little on the expensive side but their wonderful "pet-side" manner and the quality of the care they provide makes it worth it. We once took our pets to a pet chain store for shots because it was less expensive; I'll never do that again because there was just no comparison with the quality of care. Take your pet to Indianhead Animal Hospital - its worth every penny!
It was time for annual rabies shot & a Standard Wellness exam for my "senior" boy Abbott.
Such a lovely place, they treat my dog like a king and they are affordable
I first visited this animal hospital in 1997 after moving to the Accokeek area. I have moved twice (at least 45 minutes away), but I continue to bring my pets here. They are the best and the support staff is friendly and accommodating. I won't take my "baby girl" anywhere else.
Our first visit and we couldn't imagine a better experience. We just moved to the area and hoped to find a good vet. in time. But things happen and we needed to take our dog in for an issue. not an emergency, but something that can't wait a week. Thankfully, they took us within hours. We were treated well and our dog couldn't have been happier. All excellent! Many Thanks!
Sage stayed the weekend and was very well taken care of. She returned smelling like a daisy and happy!!!
My dogs are my children and I have high expectations of their medical care because they are so important to me. IHAH meets my expectations and then some. I have been going there for several years now. I feel like they care about my dogs almost as much as I do. They are very patient with all my questions and concerns and do not try to nickel and dime me for things. If they suggest a certain treatment and don't provide you alternatives, there's a reason. My old men's safety and health are always the priority. Highly recommend them.
The Doctors are great with my dog Rex Brown
Indian Head Animal Hospital is by far a professional and friendly environment for our furry family member and yourself. They answer all questions you have with patience and clarity. They make you feel as comfortable and confident as a new owner. Visit fee, shots, etc. cost but they work with you on scheduling the services out over weeks/bi-weekly at a time and not just all at once. The office and rooms space are clean with a nice touch of a modern look(I love it!). Outside is enough room for bathroom breaks and/or to meet new friends. Last but not least, I love the complementary water and treats they have available during the visit. All I can say is, Good Barks and Purring Vibes Only!
Great place, clean, remodeled, more front end staff, everyone cares, been going there over 20yrs.
My dog loves the docs at Indian Head Animal Hospital. They have the best treats!
We have been coming for years, would not go anywhere else everyone is great
My one and only choice. I’ve been taking my animals there for decades. They are very kind and conscientious and are considerate for the animals and their owners.
Always treat me and my dog like family.
I love this place. I've been a customer since 2003
The most outstanding Veterinarian in the area. I have been coming to the place for at least 25 years.
They treat your pets like family
We love the staff and the facility is very clean. This is the only place we trust to take care of our dog Randall. Randall says he loves going there too!
Friendly and great staff
We have been taking our cats to Indian Head Animal Hospital for over twenty years. The staff at Indian Head is friendly and helpful. They answer minor questions on the phone regarding my cat's health and behavior when I can't come in. The building is always clean, even with dozens of animals coming in and out each day. The wait can sometimes take a little while, but they always let you know if they are running behind. I moved from MD to VA, but I continue to take my cats there for care. I trust them completely.
Love Indian Head Animal Hospital, trust them emphatically with my pets. And the new renovations are fantastic! Shout to Vee (Groomer Extraordinare!)
I really enjoyed bringing my pets here. Would def recommend to other pet owners.
It was Pearl's first time as a patient at Indian Head Hospital. The Vet Doc was very kind and gentle performing a Health Assessment and clipping Pearl's nails. Pearl is currently enjoying an extended stay this week and will have her teeth cleaned Friday. One thing, the staff needs to remember to text the pet's parents about how they are doing if the parent requested it when they submitted their Boarding form.
Cinnamon has been going to Indian Head Animal Hospital since we brought her home as a baby eight years ago, there is NO PLACE we would take her as the staff and doctors there have treated her like their own from day one.
Good service and great vets
I took my cat there for grooming and had a horrible experience. He was poorly trimmed. The hair around his head was cut in a very jagged manner. The whiskers on one side of his face were cut and there is little to no symmetry to the shape cut on his paws. I am very dissatisfied with the results and will never take my cat to this vet again.
My little old dog got bit by a copperhead snake this morning. I called the hospital and was told to come right away and they'd work me in. I know Saturday's are busy appointment days. I arrived and within 15 min my dog was seen. These folks always have the animals best interest at the forefront and go above and beyond. I highly recommend this Animal Hospital.
I had a family emergency and needed boarding for the weekend. I was providing all my dogs medical records and all vaccinations are up to date, but just because the doctors require an examine before boarding (I understand if no records are available or vaccines are outdated, but this is an extra money plot), and there was no appointments until Monday, I was turned away. If this is level of understanding and care provided here, then my dogs will never be brought here. I've found them a hospital and staff that has a real understanding of care and family, and won't kick you to the curb when in need or in emergencies. The doctor made an extensive effort to make sure I was comfortable boarding my pups and I could deal with my family emergency knowing my animal family was well taking care of.
Indian Head Animal is the absolute best!! All the docs and the staff are super! My 4 cats are all patients here and we couldn't ask for better service. This is an A+++ facility.
Always treat your pet like there own.
My family has been going to this practice for over 40 years back to when it was owned by the father and sons Gofreed. It was sad when they retired, but the "new" regime is outstanding. I have taken my various pets for maintenance and emergencies, and every time we are seen promptly, treated courteously, and every doctor I've worked with has taken the time to thoroughly explain what is going on with my pets. They don't push upgraded options, simply inform you of them. I've worked with many of the staff over the years, but I interact mostly with Dana at the front desk, and she's just awesome. Great place to take your furbabies.
Very professional and caring staff.
After visiting several vet hospitals in the area.. this one had been the best!! Really nice staff, and clean facility! I finally found a great place for my dog!
Love this Vet they are always so nice and take good care of Zoe i will always come back
Great place. My first visit and the staff treated my puppy like I do...my baby.
Great group of people. Don't try and always up-sell and pressure. We drive past several other vets but we prefer them. They've been taking care of the family pets for years.
The best veterinary practice! As long as I live in the neighborhood, I will continue to bring my fur babies here. My cat gets his grooming done here also and they always do a fantastic job. Cooper is always happy to see everyone and I am sure he would love to stay with all the love and attention he gets from the Doctors, Assistants and Technicians.
Just Love Indianhead Animal Hospital!! The entire staff is incredible!! We have been taking our Yorkies to them for years now! They are always so kind, caring, and loving to our babies!! We are very confident that they will always give the best care possible!!
I've been going to Indian Head Animal Hospital for over 30 years, when Andy, Eric and their Dad were the Vets. I miss them but I really like how Dr. Camille and Dr. Stacey stayed on keeping everything friendly and allowing my pets to continue with their wonderful vet care.
I am writing a review for our recent grooming visit. Our dog max was a scruffy little dog. No matter how much I brushed him he always managed to roll around and get matted on his legs. I would bath him and he would still stink. Lol. He is in good health. It was just all that hair! I finally decided to take him to get groomed and the groomer did an AMAZING job!!!! He looks like a new dog! He is acting like a puppy again even though he is an old man. His fur is so soft and smells so good! I cannot give enough praise. We will be doing this often. This is the best vet. Period. Thank you!!!!
Great caring staff. I would give them 6 stars if I could!
Nina is on the "bitey" side so I warned that she had to be muzzled. They did some basic stuff with her that she won't even let us do. They were patient and talked to her. She is a terror to be groomed been thrown out of a few grooming salons so we do know she has issues but she is 12 now and I guess since I am also a senior citizen I try to make allowances since most of the time she is very loving. No regrets taking my crew to Indianhead. I have 6 and would never switch.
Really nice and affordable!
While my kitty past away in March 2013, I have used IHAH since the 1980s. The staff is wonderful. The Vets that cared for my pets until the end were so patient, kind and understanding. I'm in the process of deciding on what and who will be my next family member and I plan to use IHAH as my 1st choice for a Pet Hospital. AK Pitts
My family has taken our pets to this animal hospital for 30+ years. The staff is consistently kind, caring, and attentive to our pets whether we come for a wellness or sick appointment. The vets provide a variety of diagnostic services and have the equipment and expertise to treat the health complications that our pets have had. I would not think of going anywhere else for our pets' needs, even though, we now live in Anne Arundel County!
The vets are good; some better than others; just depends when you make an appointment. Overall, their quality of anesthesia and procedures offered is superior to other locations; I have encountered issues with misquoted costs at times so be sure to double check procedures before you go. They are friendly — expect to be there at least an hour wait.
Paul love's coming to visit his family at Indian Head Animal Hospital
Dr. Camille takes time to explain my pet's illness and the treatment plan for him. I feel confident that he will get better She is very responsive and looks forward to my follow up calls about his condition.
The docs and staff at Indian Head take GREAT care of our dog. In particular, Dr Nessim has been great. We are happy to have found her to take care of our dog. She truly cares about all the animals under her care. Highly recommend
Indian Head Animal Hospital is the best veterinary place to take your loving pets. Fritz loves his doctor. The staff knows all the four legged family members. Thank you for your years of service to the community.
When I brought our dog Bougie to Indian Head Animal Hospital Friday She was literally on her dying bed. Chris greeted me outside for us to be seen and immediately notice the condition that Bougie was in and immediately called Dr.Chesley to assist us and get Bougie blood work, X-rays and vitals checked to see what was the cause. These procedures were done quickly while keeping me knowledgeable throughout EVERY step of the way and even after during Bougies recovery. Roxann was also the most passionate assistant I’ve ever seen. She kept us updated via text and even with cute pictures of Bougies progress throughout her stay. This made my family so happy and helped our sanity. We really appreciate workers like her!!! We are happy to say after major surgery Bougie is back home with us (her family) and is soaking up all the love. THANK YOU INDIAN HEAD ANIMAL HOSPITAL!! Although you’ve all played a great part and I did not mention your names. We appreciate you!! Love Bougies Mom and Family
I have been a cat Mama my entire life and have been to many vets during that time. I'm happy to have found Indian Head Animal Hospital and highly recommend them. They are caring and compassionate while maintaining a high level of expertise and professionalism.
I wish I could give no stars!!! This place takes advantage of every pet and pet lovers. They stated they care about their patients when all actuality they are out to get people 401k. Please whatever u do stay far from this place!! They don’t care!! This is an update from the horrible service that I received a week prior. Not only does this practice ask you to remove bad reviews without acknowledging any of their own faults, but they will refuse you as a customer if you decline to do so. So please beware that this practice takes no responsibility in its employees lack of communication, will hold your pet hostage for money not previously discussed as opposed to billing and suffers greatly when it comes to professionalism!
I started using IHAH in 2012 after they corrected a Banfield misdiagnosis of FIP on my cat. Even though I now live in VA, I still make the trek to Fort Washington on the regular just to go to IHAH.
I took my dog Roscoe to the IHAP and they were very accommodating. They carried him from my vehicle to the exam room and handled him with care being he is an older dog. The assistants and the doctor was very caring, professional and knowledgeable. Thank you for caring.
Great place for your fur babies to receive quality medical care. Awesome service!
We have been taking our cats to Indian Head since 2009 with great results!
Very knowledgeable and friendly clinic! Pepe has loved his visits
We have taken our Doberman to Indian Head Vet Hospital since 1999. They have been caring and detailed. Today they have a brand new waiting area which I think looks fantastic and gives more open space. We really really love the staff there. It is a great place to take your pet or fur baby.
I've had pets going to IHAH since it first opened. I've gone through, Dr Ed and his 2 sons and now have the present crew helping to keep my doggies healthy. If you are anywhere near IHAH and have need of pet health care I strongly suggest going there. I think you and your pet will be happy.
Good for our furry ones
My father started out with Dr. Edward Gofreed years ago. I have personally taken my pets to IHAH for over 30 years now. I have nothing but good things to say. The clinic has grown vastly in terms of technology over the years. The hospital itself is well-staffed and always exceptionally clean. The Doctors are the best available in the Maryland/Washington Metropolitan area. Dr. Stacey Young is superb. Without a doubt a 5 star animal hospital.
We always take our dog hee. They are great.
My family started going here in 1968. I have brought my animals there for over 30 years. They did all the grooming for my Mom's dog. I needed to get my cat groomed, so I took him in. I am very disappointed. They did an exam and shoots so he could be sedated. I picked him up and he stinks (perfume, I am allergic). Noticed they trimmed his fur around his ears and face, he looks funny. I brought him because his fur was starting to matt. I figured they would brush him really well and shave matts where necessary. Do not understand why they cut his fur around his face. Got him home and tail did not look brushed. Ran my "furmentor" through his tail, he has a ton of fur on him. They did not brush him throughly. That loose fur is what causes the matting !!! So now I will spend days brushing him out to prevent more matts. I thought I paid them for that. Never any problems with the medical care. Update : The perfume is still with him (next day). One of my other cats starts sneezing every time he gets close to him. So not only did it bother my allergies, one of my other cats is now avoiding him. I have had a sinus headache since he got home. So it's very hard for me to have him near me and his buddy is keeping away from him. Have no idea how long this will last. Have call to talk with vet when they return tomorrow.
I've been going to IHAH for more than 50 years. They are class A+. I wouldn't take my sweethearts anywhere else. They have treated 15 of my pets over the years and I have made numerous referrals. You can't get any better than IHAH. They are truly top shelf. Thank you IHAH for all the years you have loved and cared for my kitties and doggies.
I really enjoyed my first visit with my two baby’s khole and flex really felt comfortable with their doctors...and need I remind you my two are very hyper active and they seem to love the doctors I will most definitely continue to bring them for their every need
Very caring and friendly staff!! Good prices!! Highly recommend!!
Great people. One of the only places in the area that will dock tails.
I been going there for years love the place
Understaffed, waited for an hour past the appointment time for our dog to be seen. Left untreated.
Positive experience. Treated my pets very well
Very good vets at Indian Head Animal Hospital. Very friendly and professional. I will be taking all of my fur babies there.
Great place with caring people
My dog loves it
I can always count on the doctors here to take excellent care of my pup. Dr. Stacy has been working with Furby for several years and she never fails to impress. If she's not available, I'm always very happy with the care from the other vets and technicians at this practice. They really do what they can to squeeze you in if it's something that needs to be taken care of ASAP. Your fur baby is in good hands here.
I have taken my dog here numerous times in the past for basic check ups. On our last visit, my dog was not doing well. I took her in for a second time that week, because she was not doing well. I was greeted by a travel veterinarian who basically looked at the course of treatment from her last visit and mimicked everything that was done before. Unfortunately, giving fluids did not restore my dog’s appetite this time around. Yet he still insisted that I take prescription food home with me. I left feeling serious doubt in this facility, and questioned the credentials of the veterinarians here. Unfortunately it all went down hill from here. My dog became increasingly more lethargic. By standers questioned the health of my dog. At one point, she threw up undigested food, which prompted one of the techs to get the veterinarian again. He brought out a large needle to administer an antiemetic in the waiting room. He scurried back, then rushed out to tell me I should “consider euthanizing her.” All of this was said in the waiting room around complete strangers. He came back and suggested doing an xray. Afterwards, he came out with another vet to talk to me. They took me to the back to encourage me to “euthanize her” again. I opted out of doing so, and lost her within 15 minutes of that conversation. This happened over a year ago. I went back and forth about posting this review, but people should know what they are getting themselves into. This situation was handled poorly. I left with a large bill, a dead dog and the certainty that I will never bring a pet to this facility again.
I didn't know if my Jasper's condition was emergent or not. The staff worked me in, I was impressed that I did not have handle Jasper. The Vet and her assist were so soothing to him , he hardly acted up (except clipping his claws). Close to home, on time, extremely professional; what else could one want?
Our visit yesterday was for a minor emergency for our dog, we were seen quickly and I know that he received the best possible care. Excellent doctors and technicians, and a very friendly and loving atmosphere! A+++
Professional, friendly, vet care with a "multi-pet discount" for me and my pets! The best vets in the business.
I have been going here for years. First with my two cats and now with my goldendoodle puppy. The staff have always been friendly and caring. All staff are willing to spend time answering your questions. Dr. Camille Lewis-Chesley is wonderful. Very patient with new furbaby Moms. She fully explains all procedures, discusses options/alternatives, etc. I highly recommend.
Great pet care.
I have been taking my doggie here for 8 years and she receives the best care.. The vets are very good and answer all questions and concerns.. The ladies in the front are very nice and eager to help and offer information regarding minor problems with your pet as well. And besides, they are always voted one of the best in the area .
