The staff was very accommodating and helpful with my dog who has special precautions around other dogs. They made sure our path was clear and got us into an exam room close to the front. They even let me check out in the room so we wouldn’t have to anxiously wait in the lobby. Their prices are reasonable for the area. I appreciate them taking the time to review the price breakdown with the procedure my dog needs and the aftercare he’ll receive instead of just handing me a piece of paper. Their customer service is excellent!

I have been bringing my boys here since 2004. Dr. McCafferty and Dr. Plitt are amazing and caring professionals. Your staff has always been friendly. I would like to express my thanks. Two months ago, while I was out of the country, my Buster got sick and Dr. Plitt helped my sister with the decision to help ease Buster's pain. Dr. Plitt and Katie were remarkable to help my sister with my decision while I was overseas. I felt horrible that I was not there, and had to have my sister do the unthinkable. Dr. Plitt and Katie were very supportive in my decision. They ensured I had a say in the situation, and supported my sister through the ordeal. A few days ago, my Pappy was not himself - after a trip to the ER I immediately brought him in to be seen. Dr. McCafferty has always been thorough with my boys, and would always comment how Pappy did not look or act his age, but she knew right away something was wrong my little boy. Through tears as I attempt to express my gratitude for the kindness and care Dr. McCafferty showed me I just want you to know you have an amazing team. Please never forget it, your folks are special. I felt comforted and loved when Dr. McCafferty took the time to talk with me on the phone. If I felt loved I know my boys were comforted with their love as well. Thank you

They always see my two Shih Tzus no matter if it's just a check up or recently in an emergency she was seen immediately and provided the best care and treatment possible. I was with Huffards for 15 years with 2 dog's when I would call about 1 of my dog's they always new me by name expertly for Rex. When Rex passed in 2014 the whole office an Dr McCarthy were there for us,then we lost Sophie, November 2017 everyone was there for us again. My very first experience was "ok" at best. I did not think the doctor was not as involved as maybe she should have been. Every visit after that, we got a new doctor and it was smooth sailing. The location was extremely convenient for me, but that did not play a huge roll in this facility caring for my pets. The front desk stay is wonderful, to say the least. They were always welcoming and smiling and really enjoyed my dogs active presence. They would always offer a room for us to wait in, as oppose to the waiting area in front, because my dog gets over excited around other pets and that gesture was always great for us. The appointments were always easy to make and accommodated my families schedule. My dog also received surgery here for a cancer mass. All went well and the doctor even called us during his procedure about another mass we questioned about during a previous visit to see if she could go ahead and remove it to be on the safe side. Of course, we had to pay for that extra, but it was nice for her to call and ask. Overall our total experience was a pleasant one. All three of my dogs were able to be in and out of there appointments in a timely manner and the staff was always great to encounter. We no longer live in the area, but if I had to choose, I would take my pets back here. The facility also offers boarding and grooming. We did not use these services, but it was great to have the option.

I went to Huffard's a few years ago with an emergency, my dog was obviously extremely sick and I needed to get him to the vet on a Sunday morning. The staff was amazing and took every step possible to explain why he was sick. I had to put him down that day and Dr. Carpenter was amazing. Since I had a great experience with Dr. Carpenter, when we got a new dog, we decided to take her back to Huffard's. I highly recommend this vet, all the staff is wonderful, as well as the atmosphere.

I take my dog Finn for day care every Thursday and it is absolutely money well spent the staff is so friendly and kind and you can tell they really love what they do. I even had a emergency where I needed to drop him off for daycare and they more than accommodated me. The vet and staff have also been so good to my dog since he was a puppy with his shots and his anxiety. He really likes when he gets cheesewiz during his checkups. They gave just been so great to my dog even when he hurt his leg I can’t say enough good stuff about huffard this will be the only animal hospital my pets will ever go too.

This is one of the best places I’ve taken my dog in Maryland. I’ve been to vets all the way from the shore to the mountains in Maryland. My dog is like my baby so I am very careful which vets he goes to. The prices are also ok compared to other places I’ve been. They have plenty of waiting space so you can avoid being right next to other animals if yours is shy. Plus they usually have animal planet or something like that playing in their waiting room; what’s better than that?? They always call me after I visit for a specific problem to make sure everything is still going alright. I appreciate that follow up. Their staff has also always been friendly and helpful. We’ve had everything from cracked teeth to surgery follow-ups here and we’ve never been disappointed with the service. We also haven’t had trouble getting appointments when we need them and the staff are willing to work with you in adjusting to get you in. I’m planning to keep using this place as long as I live in the area and I recommend them to anyone I know who has a pet.

My 7 y/o cat was taken in over Easter weekend and had to stay until Monday. Dr. Gray was wonderful with him. She called me everyday with a check-up on him, even on Easter Sunday. She was very understanding and answered all my questions. She also knew that money was tight and took that into consideration with his care. The staff was very helpful and fully explained everything to me before he was discharged.

We always have a great experience. Today I was exceptionally pleased when I picked up my cat after surgery. I honestly felt like the staff treated my pet as if it were their own. Several years ago, I brought my 8 week old puppy in. She had parvo from the shelter I had adopted her from. Long story short, they called and asked me to perform a full blood transfusion after about 2 weeks of treatment because she was anemic. I refused, saying she was too young and was getting better on her own (she was finally walking and eating and drinking by herself) and we could wait and see for a few more days. They went behind my back and called my father, lied and said I had already said yes, but because he was paying the bill they just wanted to make sure he was okay with it. He said yes because he thought it was what I wanted. They called me after they did the procedure just to say, "It didn't work. You should come in to say goodbye." When I went in, I heard my poor baby SCREAMING as they brought her down the hall to me. I begged them to put her out of her misery. This place literally murdered my dog, had no sympathy, and had the nerve to send me a bill for the euthanasia. The euthanasia they only had to apply because they performed a procedure I told them NOT to do. I have never been back. I would never take my animals to this torture palace. Unfortunately, I am a pet care provider and several clients use this facility. Recently, we had a client's elderly dog boarded here while she was on vacation. Upon her return less than a week later, the dog had a cough and a severe ear infection. Dirt and crud just caked all over the inside of her ears, pus running out of both. It was horrifying, and here we are almost 3 weeks later trying to get it under control. This is absolutely ridiculous for a vet clinic. It seems after all these years they still don't care at all about the animals.

100% the best around the Pasadena area. I have taken my dogs there for a little over a year and have had nothing but fantastic service from everyone there. From the Vets, the front desk staff, and the boarding and grooming staff, everyone is super friendly and knows their stuff. We use to go to Dr. Grey with our first pup and the first time we ever went there she got down on the ground with our pup (who was very scared and shy) and made her feel comfortable the whole time. Unfortunately she has left Huffard but every time we go back, the Vets are so excited and very friendly towards our dogs! Huffard is expensive, and I hate looking at the bill sometimes, but it is the only places that I trust with my dogs and giving us the right care for them.

The staff are great I had my dog put down there and they treated him phenomenal. We adopted a new dog after his passing she got pregnant ( we thought she was spayed) however we took her there because she had an infection in her nipple/ milk duct. They quoted us 180.00 for an antibiotic which was ridiculous we had it filled at Wal-Mart for 70.00. I can understand a mark up however that's extremely high amount. So if you go there make sure you plan to spend. If your in it to help people care for their pets you shouldn't try to take advantage of it.

This is a very nice hospital and boarding location. The staff is quite friendly and the place is spotlessly clean. If you board for more than a couple days your dog gets a free wash and nail trim. I never had to wait very long to get in for an appointment. This hospital has a small town feel in a metropolis community

I can not say enough wonderful things about Huffard. I have been bringing my Yorkie there since 2013 and have been very pleased with the staff. Dr Gray is simply the best and I would not trust anyone else. That's why when I recently got a new puppy I didn't hesitate one bit to have Dr Gray be his vet as well. She really takes the time to get to know you and your furry children and provides generous advice and puts you at ease with any questions you may have. I will say that I once had a skin issue with my Yorkie and I called Huffard and received a same day appointment with another vet in the practice, unfortunately I don't remember her name but she was also very sweet and promised to update Dr gray the next day. The very next day Dr Gray called me herself to check in on my handsome boy. That's rare these days and speaks volumes about how much Huffard really cares. I also would highly recommend their Grooming Department. miss Julie does a wonderful job.

The staff, our Vet Tech Debbie, and our doctor, Dr. Sekerak, were all absolutely wonderful. They made me feel so at ease, no pressure, and comforted me when we found a lump on my dog's hind leg. They answered all questions thoroughly (even my dumb ones) with courtesy. 10/10 would recommend! :)

We have a large dog that doesn't love new places, other animals, or new people. Their staff worked with us to get him early appointments and in a room right away so he wouldn't get into trouble in the waiting room. They were patient and did a great job doing what needed to be done to get him back to health, even when he was anxious and didn't want anyone to touch him. They walked us through each thing they wanted to do and the charge so we could decide the best thing to do (I love knowing the bill upfront- it cuts down on my own anxiety about vet visits). Then they helped us set up a Care Credit account to pay for the visit- easy and painless, and we were able to pay that bill off when we got paid again. They are all so kind. We are so thankful to Dr.Mosby and the staff there.

Dr. McCafferty always takes care of us. she's very thorough and very sensitive to our pet's needs. If there's a test she could run to make money but she feels it truly is unnecessary she'll let you know and she won't do it. She'll do only what's necessary and she'll warn you ahead of time of the costs involved in particular treatments and blood work and other preventive measures. And we've had good experiences with some of the other veterinarians there also. They've all taken the time with our animals and none of them rushed to conclusions. Going to the vet is never a cheap experience but the doctors there make it a little easier to absorb by the quality of care we receive, usually it doesn't take too long to get in, appointments can be cancelled within just a couple of hours for your convenience, and with the constant communication we receive from them. Dr. McCafferty even called us In the middle of the week to see how our cat was doing if she prescribe certain medication for her. Oh no I give it a 5 out of 5 stars. I will recommend them to anyone who has a pet that they really care about.

We (my daughter and I) took our kitty, Camo to Huffard Animal Hospital for an urgent care visit on Sunday morning. We are not regular clients of Huffard, but our vet does not have Sunday hours. We were treated with courtesy from the moment we walked in the door. We were taken to a room within 15 minutes of arriving, despite not having an appointment. The vet assistant was very kind and saw that Camo was nervous and tried to offer him some treats. The vet arrived after a short wait. She examined Camo with care and suggested an x ray to rule out a broken or dislocated bone. When the x ray showed no bone issues she explained that Camo most likely had a sprain or strain and that she could give him an anti inflammatory medicine. Throughout the entire visit we were treated with kindness and respect. The vet and vet assistannt both chatted briefly with my daughter, who wants to be a vet when she grows up. We are grateful for a vet practice that was able to see us for urgent care on a Sunday and treated us kindly. Camo appears to be doing better today after his third day of Onsior. I was able to move his leg and he did not complain at all. Thank you Huffard Animal Hospital!

They were always there for us & helped me get through the trying time when I had to have our companion put to sleep due to a huge tumor at the age of 16. New to the area, found Huffard vet, pugs needed a nail trim and 1 needed a distemper shot. Called expecting the 2 week delay for an appointment that I’ve been running into and was pleasantly surprised to be able to get an appointment the next day to have everything done. The office area is setup perfectly with segregated areas so the different pets can relax while waiting. Techs are wonderful, Dr. Colleen Mccafferty put the boys at ease and did an excellent job with the exams and administrating the shot. And the final bill didn’t give me heart failure like at some vets. :-) Really glad we found them!

My cat was experiencing a bout of cystitis of which she has had several times in the past. My vet was closed and Huffard was still open so I bring her in on an urgent visit. I had brought her there 5 years ago and didn’t get a good vibe from the place but I thought I should give it a second try since they have better hours then my vet. They took me back very quick the tech and the vet were very nice. The vet agreed with my suspicions of cystitis but asked if her vet ever did an ex ray or blood work. He had not so I said I wanted to do it but asked how much it would all cost before making a decision. She broke down the charges for me, I wrote them down in front of her. The blood work was $200 which included a urinalysis, the urgent visit was $68 the x Ray was 98 and meds 50. I said ok for just over 400 let’s do it. She said if we can’t get a urine sample you can bring her back over the weekend or anytime in the next 30 days because it is already included and paid for with the blood work. She took her back and ultimately was not able to get the urine. The vet came back in and told me she forgot to give me the price for the fluids which was another thing they wanted to give her. Then the tech came in and said I could bring the urine sample in anytime in the next 30 days. I said or I can just bring her back in like the vet said. Oh but there’s an extra charge for that. But that’s not what the vet just told me. The tech says well the urinalysis is included but not obtaining the urine. So, I totally understand how there could be two separate fees but you didn’t tell me about that fee. Instead of an apology I was made to feel like I just didn’t understand that the blood work included the urinalysis and not actually collecting the urine. Frustrated with her lack of accountability I mention it to the lady at the front desk who does the same exact thing the tech did. They just coldly tried to make me feel like I just didn’t have a clear understanding of how it worked instead of apologizing for misleading me when I asked for an estimate. The vet tech was nice but loud about the situation the lady at the front desk was just rude. She offered to get her manager but I didn’t feel like having to be told by a third person that the urinalysis didn’t include collecting the urine. At around $400 I said sure go for it but adding the fluids and now collecting the urine and the meds were closer to $100 vs $50 that the vet said it would be. I would have opted not to get the blood work and just brought her to her own vet in the morning. I walked out if there feeling totally taken advantage of.

The entire staff is extremely caring, sincere and personable. Your pet is not 'just another patient'; they are genuinely interested in each animal that comes through their doors. When we had to 'send' our beloved dog to heaven, the vet cried along with us. A few days later we received the most touching condolences card; the staff didn't just sign there names, they actually wrote little notes recalling moments/memories they had of our boy!

Nursing/desk staff are nice and helpful. Veterinarians work well with the cats we take there. Have used their boarding services a few times without issue. Only small complaint is that it's always about 30-40 min after scheduled appointment time that we're finally escorted to an exam room for the yearly checkups.

We took our 9 year old Maine Coon here that had a growth on his side. They checked him out and came back with that the growth was an aggressive cancer. We we assured that the growth was isolated in fatty tissue, not attached to anything, and his blood work was clear and his organs were fine. No other cancer in his body. Told 6 month life expectancy if we do nothing, 8-10 years if we allow surgery to remove the tumor. Of course we allow the surgery. Get our cat back, slowly getting back to normal. Take him back for staples to be removed and re evaluation.... given a clear bill of health. Cancer is gone. As time passes, he seems to be continuing to lose weight. Then, 3 whole weeks after surgery, now he is struggling to breath. On a Sunday, Father’s Day no less, we need to have home looked at. Off to an emergency vet as to why he seems to be laboring to breath. X-rays show 3 peanut sized cancerous tumors in his lungs and lungs filled with fluid (gee Huffard, how do you”miss” those). Short of a very long night, we had to have our cat put down due to thes tumors that Huffard over looked when they lied to us about the health of our cat. Guessing everyone had car payments due as they happily collected our $2k+ dollars while misdiagnosing our cats health. Convinced us they saved his his life and yet now, our cat is dead because of Huffard. Tell us 8-10 years of additional life if we fork out all this money, and we got 3 weeks. THIEVES who can get away with it. I hope everyone of them that has pets looses one so they can go through the pain we have been forced to go through because of them!!!

Called today needing to have my cat looked at even though we were new patients and it was short notice. The receptionists were very kind and nice and helped check us in very quickly. Dr. Jones is amazing. I'm so happy that she took the time to listen to our concerns about our cat and took very good care of her. Plus our cat loved her too. How do normal working class people afford to pay close to 50 just to be seen ontop of all the additional tests and shots? I would love to visit again for my dogs shots but i cant afford the exam!

I brought my cat in yesterday afternoon after one of his teeth fell out and we saw Dr. Jones. Dr. Jones was absolutely great! She really went over Fluffy's dental disease and explained how we should handle it moving forward. She gave me an estimate for a dental cleaning with extractions to get him all fixed up and it was VERY reasonable, especially with the dental month discount. I used to work at a veterinarians office so I was worried about the estimate but I was truly shocked at how affordable it is. I have seen multiple vets at Huffard and they are all great. They truly care about their clients and their pets! Dr. Jones even mentioned that others places may offer the dental cleaning and extractions at a cheaper cost so it shows they are not out to make a quick buck. However, I would much rather have my trusted vet do the surgery instead of a cheaper place that I'm not familiar with. Fluffy is looking forward to his cleaning and extractions in two weeks!

Not happy at all!!! My pet received an ear infection from them grooming him and then I have to pay out allot of money to cure the issue. I know this because his ears never got infected while I was grooming him!! I am disabled and cannot groom him anymore and this is the thanks I get!! On top of that they only call one number on file to reach you!! If mailbox is full on one number why wouldn't you try the other number in file??? Especially when it is in the file that the pets ear is really badly infected and you need to medicate him before the appointment?!! I am so done with this facility!! They have proven to me that they are not there for my pet but to get money out of me!!!

Huffard Animal Hospital is the only place that I will take my dog. The service that they provide is the best that I have ever seen. My dog and I are both very fond of Dr. Plitt. She has great compassion for animals and it shows with how she takes the time with the animals that she see. This same compassion can be seen by all the staff at Huffard. I can not praise this place enough. I loved the experience for my feline, Riley. Dr. Hu was amazing! Explained everything well pertaining to my visit and wanted to start with conservative measures first for the issue that my feline was presenting with. After the visit, the thing that made me love this place even more, I received a card thanking me for my business and a phone call from Dr. Hu herself checking in on Riley's progress thus far. Wonderful experience and I highly recommend this office. And they spelled my name right, Noah's Ark couldn't even do that.

It's a very well-equipped animal hospital, but it's very clinical, expensive and cold. Although they took very good care of our puppies, gave them each a very thorough exam and confirmed our suspicions, I felt more like I was in a human ER than a veterinarian's office. The puppies were on edge the whole time and I was too.

The BEST vet in Anne Arundel County in my opinion! I want the best for my 2 Akitas and other vets have seemed too busy, not focused or unconcerned. I have seen 3 different vets and numerous techs over the last 8 months since I chose Huffard and I have such peace of mind after my visits. They listen...pay attention...are always friendly(which has to be incredibly challenging for any customer service profession) and have given great care to my dogs. I can't comment on price since I don't compare prices from vets I've dealt with in the past. I just know that even though me and my pets are strangers to them..each time i go in they make me and my pets feel important and do the best they can to help me keep them happy and healthy. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
