Great vet. Always makes me feel good to visit and take good care of my high maintenance dog

Rachel Quaty

The owners make this vets office the best in town. They are kind and truly care about the well being of animals. Its not your average vet where at times it feels like they only care about taking your money. It's about a 20 minute drive for me. I'm sure I pass at least 4 other veterinary clinics on the way but it's worth it.

Friendly staff and great people!

They are very fair priced, and make it easy on pet owners! The front desk is very friendly. My dog hates all vet offices, and barks at any pet in the waiting room, which makes it a very stressful event if the staff isn't understanding. But the staff at Honeygo will let me wait with my dog in the car, and call me when they have the exam room ready for my dog. No waiting room nightmares! They even let me check out and pay in the exam room! This is something that should be a given, but Honeygo is the only vet I've been to that does this. We usually see Dr. Mullinex, who is the only vet I trust. She will never prescribe anything unnecessary.

We love Honeygo Animal Hospital and what's most import, our pup loves them too! They treat your pet like their own, are kind, courteous, we never have to wait and can usually get appointments fairly quickly. Our pet is our family and we will only entrust Honeygo to is health and well-being.

We just moved to the area and recently bought a new pup. Excited to find a vet for our new family member, we decided to go to The Honeygo Animal Hospital, which was recommended to us. We took our new puppy for a check-up recently in August of 2013. The staff was most friendly and helpful! However, our experience with the vet was horrible. She did not introduce herself or make us feel welcome both times we went. Went back the second time to give the benefit of the doubt. (Everybody has bad days.) The Vet was very condescending, made us feel like we were raising the dog inappropriately. If we asked questions, the vet would answer in a rude manner. Nor did she thoroughly explain the health conditions with our pup, even when we asked questions. I do not recommend this place, because of our experience with the vet.

The most caring staff of any vet's office. They give my babies (dogs) so much love. I can't thank them enough for all that they do.

Dr. Julie is amazing. She is a pet whisperer. I have been with her when she was with Festival Vet and came with her when she started her own practice. The fact that I trust her with the family members I love the most says everything. Since I moved away, I drive over an hour and a half to bring my kitties to her and I will only see her. I have never once seen the office dirty or smelly. You expect some smells because it is a Vet Office and there are a bunch of different types of pets there, but it never stinks. Dr. Julie Wright is the BEST Vet I have ever been with and I recommend her to everyone that I meet that has pets. She is WONDERFUL and will never BS you on anything or over charges you for any unnecessary fees. I recommend her to you 100% and I have been going to her for over 20 years. Thanks Dr. Julie and my kitties thank you too. Meow.

By appointments only so id something happens to your pet and you want care ASAP, this is not the place. Plus, the lady on the phone wasn’t very nice! She seemed like she was upset when I didn’t want to wait days to treat my dog!

I have nothing but the highest regard for Honeygo Animal Hospital, as well as their staff. I have been going to Honeygo for 5+ years now, since I picked up my pup back in 2008. Since then, i have picked up a kitten and have been taking her there since 2009. I have also moved a couple of times within Maryland, tried out a couple of local vets -- only to find myself returning to Honeygo (despite the longer drive). First and foremost, Dr. Wright and Dr. Moffa (as well as the rest of the staff) are phenomenal. Extremely friendly, to-the-point, and always made time for my pets when I needed to come for a non-emergency visit. They are very accommodating with their/my schedule, and the doctors are extremely knowledgeable. I would easily trust them with my pets' lives, and never think twice when I drop my pets off. I have full faith in their services, so I look forward to returning for many years to come. They also send out friendly reminders when checkups are due - always on point! One of the reasons why I never question Honeygo is because of their extremely-fair prices and guidance. When I visited some vets that were local, they suggested and advised that I get this, that, EVERYTHING. As a result, I paid an arm and a leg for basic check-ups and bloodwork. However, Honeygo will NEVER pressure you into getting something you don't need -- or at least, i never felt that way. When Dr. Moffa or Wright suggested that some things need to be done, they always explained what each charge/procedure was, and what was truly necessary. They never pressure you into getting things you don't need - and your pet will always get the best service. To boot, I very recently had to get a lump removed on my pet's neck. Before I went to Honeygo, i visited my local vet to see how much they would charge for the non-cancerous cyst removal, and I was completely overwhelmed. Since my dog's blood work was recently done, I wanted to schedule the surgery asap. When i went to Honeygo, their estimate was only 25-35% of what the local vet wanted. Maybe the 300-400% surcharge for the local vet was because it was in the city... however, I would gladly drive an extra 30-minutes to save quite a few hundred dollars at Honeygo. Lastly, their facilities are great! Very easy to get to, and their staff... truly wonderful. One example: when i went to that exorbitantly overpriced, local city-vet, my dog had an accident and went #2. The front desk receptionist simply pointed to where the tissues were - and I picked up after my dog (indoors). I thought nothing of it... When I recently visited Honeygo, another patron's dog relieved himself -- and almost instantly, one of the staff came out with towels, disinfectant, and immediately wiped the floors down. Thinking back, after having visited a couple of other vets, I truly realize how great Honeygo Animal Hospital really is. Long story short, Honeygo Animal Hospital is the best vet I have ever been to... If you're looking for a very good vet, with boarding capabilities, extremely-fair prices, and fantastic staff -- Honeygo is the place for you and your pet. I look forward to returning for many years to come... Thank you, Honeygo. You have always been great to my pets (Pookie and Qtip), and I thank you for their great health!

I can't really speak to the organization as a whole but I can speak to Dr. Susan Mullenex. I had an early morning appointment with them and I explained to the receptionist that I would like a general wellness check, a heartworm test, and titer testing completed for core vaccines for my dog. She gets weighed and Dr. Mullenex proceeds examine my dog and asks if she has any health issues and what I feed my dog and I tell her that I feed my dog raw and here is where the issues begin. Almost immediately she starts on her diatribe on how there is no evidence that a raw diet for a dog has any additional health benefits (presumably to convince me to feed the dog food they advertise on their shelves) and that her eating raw was putting her at risk. Now I could debate this topic alone for days but I just tell her that I've seen with my own two eyes the difference in my dog from when she was eating Blue Buffalo to her eating raw food. I tell her, plainly, and politely, that since I switched my dog over she lost ~15 lbs., her energy is through the roof, her teeth are way healthier, her breath is fresh, her coat is gorgeous, she is literally never sick. She is healthier now and has been for the past three years than she has ever been in her entire life and that I would NOT be changing her diet. She finishes her diatribe with something along the lines of "I just feel its my duty to educate you and I just want whats best for the dog". The examination continues. We're discussing the "boosters" for my dog and I reiterate that I want titer testing for the core vaccinations to ensure my dog needs them before administering them. She explains to me that it is certainly an option but notifies me that their titer testing will cost a few hundred dollars. I say no thank you, but I ask if they would be willing to draw the blood and send it off to a facility of my choosing with a more reasonable price for the testing. She asks in her continued condescending tone where I could get the testing done cheaper, and if we went that route they would charge me for taking the blood and would not interpret the results for me. Now again, this is fine, I don't expect you to work for free, but I certainly love how two minutes ago you were worried about the wellbeing of my dog if it meant an opportunity for me to buy your dog food but now that I won't pay for your upcharge lab services you really don't care about my dog. You just want to stick my dog full of vaccines regardless of whether or not you have empirical evidence proving she needs said vaccines and if I have documentation of that evidence, whether it is for or against the neccessity of those vaccinations, you would refuse to read it. So thanks Dr. Mullenex, I appreciate your condescending tone and your sense of superiority because you wear a lab coat and have a "Dr." prefixed to your name. I'm not sorry that I won't succumb to your scare tactics and half truths and I won't be bringing my dog back to your office nor would I recommend anyone bring their animals to see you either. If you do decide to take your animal here I STRONGLY suggest you do some research of your own, gain some knowledge and understanding of food, vaccinations, tests and anything they want to do or put in your dog. Read the AAHA vaccinate guidelines, read up on Dr. Ron Schultz and Dr. Karen Becker. Read the association for truth in pet food and learn about commercial dog food and what is actually in it. Read the potential side effects of the vaccines they put in your dog and understand the risks yourself. Don't let them scare you into putting things into your dog if you're unsure or not comfortable with and get second and or third opinions if you must.

Been taking my family's dogs here for years but recently found another vet that seemed less judgmental

Good service & caring people for your furbabies!

I've been taking mine and my daughter's dogs to this place since they opened. Very friendly and knowledgeable vets and help. The place is clean. I believe the person who said it smelt like urine is confused with another vet nearby.

This vet is terrible. I had been going since my boxer was a puppy (she is 8.5 now). She started suffering from terrible "allergies" since January. I have gone 8 times this year alone only to be given more Apoquel, which is $1.50 a pill. Well, come to find out, Apoquel should NEVER BE given to a dog that has a history of cancer (THEY removed three Mast Cell tumors 2 years ago) because it creates a fertile environment for cancer. After a biopsy two months ago from two removed tumors, I was told "the good news is it is not cancer." Well, fast forward to two weeks ago when the dermatologist biopsied two more spots and confirmed that she has Mast Cell tumors all over her body, which is causing the constant itching. Honeygo did nothing to help. One of the owners, Dr. Wright, was less-than-helpful and less-than-friendly. Now I have the pleasure of going to an oncologist and determining the best treatment for my dog at her age. I am not saying Honeygo gave her cancer, but they had every opportunity to diagnose this and/or help determine the reason for her scratching. I will not being going back her with any future pets. I've spent thousands only to be given a medicine that she should've never been given in the first place (Apoquel). Go anywhere else!

Truly the best Vets in the business. Dr. Mark Wright is a brilliant surgeon who performs life changing surgeries for animals for well below the average of what most Vets charge for the same surgery. All the Vets there are true professionals but very personable caring people who love animals.
