We are very appreciative that the office was able to fit us in on their evening schedule after multiple reschedules due to ky changing work schedules. Staff was absolutely wonderful and so helpful with my toddler as well as our furry baby!

We've been bringing our beloved pets to Glade Valley for near on 20 years. They started as a cows-to-kittens practice but now just see house pets. Practical, but caring, vets and techs from beginning to end. They don't do unnecessary tests or up-sell you. They will provide you with every option, however, and help you weigh the positives and negatives and then let you choose without a hard-sell. Never have I been unhappy with their care for me, my family or my pets. I'll say when we had to euthanize our last dog at age 15, the tears were not only ours. Very professional but extremely compassionate. I would not go to anyone else in the area.

I have taken my cats here since I adopted them 6 months ago. I had to take one in recently for a follow-up to an issue she has been having. The vet was nice enough to explain to me what the possibilities where and the different options based on the results of the test. The cat I brought in recently seemed to enjoy being here compared to the first time she came and was very shy.

The procedure ended up costing less, which was a pleasant surprise. As soon as my dog was out of surgery, Dr Derrenbacher called to update me on his patient's status and how the procedure had gone. This greatly reduced my worry. Thank you!

They care about our dog as much as we do. A bit pricey at times, but your pet is in good hands. Dr. D. is great. We've been customers for 2 years now and they are the vet of choice, whether it is annual shots, or boarding.

I took my senior rescue here. The doctors and staff were very friendly. While the doctor recommended expensive dental surgery, they were understanding that it was not feasible and did not push or judge my decision. Also, their resident cat, Nick, is very cute!

It's very reassuring to know that the staff gave our little boy some TLC while we were away. Our cat was in great condition when we picked him up and happy to come home. If it were possible to give zero or negative star review, I would. After taking many of our loved pets here for years, I ended up coming in with a very sick one. The way my dog and I were treated was deplorable at best. There was no empathy or compassion. Dr. Derrenbacher was uncaring, short and basically cold. I've never had such an upsetting and horrible experience as I did that day. My entire extended family and numerous friends that have gone to Dr D have all switched to another veterinarian. I will never go back there...no matter what.

Had high hopes, but so disappointed that Dr Head just tried to push the expensive kibble they sell at his office instead of trying to figure out the real problem. Had to figure out on my own what was causing problems for my pet. Had to call his office many times trying to get test results. He had the gall to falsely claim he had already called. As if everyone doesn’t have caller id & voicemail nowadays. Also surprised at his disclosure that he feeds his own pet cheap, low quality food. Won’t be back given the low quality of care designed to sell Hills food (low quality, high cost), plus their office fee is more than most vets. Wouldn’t mind paying more for a competent veterinary clinic, Glade Valley is not it. Was fooled by the high reviews here.

There is not enough time to begin about how wonderdul this practice is. I always recommend this vet to all of my friends with pets. They are punctual which means your not sitting in the waiting room forever with your atressed out pet. Most importantly, you can tell the staff actually cares and likes their job and they aren't just there for the paycheck. When I move and have to switch vets, I am going to be so heartbroken to leave this great staff behind. They are absolutely the best there is!!! You will not be disappointed.

We love Glade Valley. My neighbors recommended it to us after we got our puppy and I am EXTREMELY pleased with the service we have received so far. The front desk attendants are always curteous on both the phone and in person. They always greet you with a smile and you can tell that they genuinely care about you and your animal. When my dog got spayed and had to stay overnight, the front desk attendants told me I could call whenever I wanted to get status updates. I called a few times and they would put me on hold to check then come back and tell me how she looked and what she was doing. Awesome service. We see Dr. Derenbacher and his vet tech, Matt. Matt is always upbeat and positive and he is great with my dog, Basie. She just loves him. He really knows how to handle the animals and is so sweet and kind, not to mention extremely knowledgeable. Basie is always a little nervous when we go to the vet, but once Matt comes out to bring us in for our appointment, she gets so happy. I really like that she remembers him and likes him. I think that really says something. Finally, for our vet, Dr. Derenbacher. I completely trust him with my dog. From the first appointment we have had with him, he has been extremely open and honest with procedures and what to expect, and he answered ALL of my questions. I never felt rushed. He personally calls us with results of lab and blood work within 24 hours, and he called my husband immediately after he spayed Basie to give us a status update and a recap of how the surgery went. You can really tell that he loves his job. He has even found ways to help us keep the cost down by giving us samples and he only charged us $1 for a medicine we had to get her since we were spending more to get lab results, etc. He is very gentle with Basie and does a great job of keeping her calm during the visits. I have absolutely nothing negative to say. Overall, Glade Valley makes you feel like they are there to serve you and your pet, not like some other offices that give the impression that you're lucky to be seeing them. I am extremely happy with the service that I have received and will continue to recommend Dr. D and Glade Valley to other pet owners.

Moved to Frederick and needed a new vet. Based on reviews, I chose this place for my four pets. My first experience was just ok. I felt there was an attempt to upsell me on services that weren't totally necessary. I ended up needing to go back for an emergency surgery for my crazy dog. The surgery was done same day and she was very well taken care of and doted on. The surgery wasn't a total success, but the issue wasn't life threatening either. Overall after 3 visits with 4 different pets plus a surgery I give this place 4 stars. The staff is super friendly, but you may have to wait even if you have an appointment... emergency walk-ins do happen (which is ok!).
