This place is friendly and welcoming. They have been our dogs Dr. for 6 years now. They treat you and your animal like family. They went above and beyond recently when we believe our dog got bit by a spider and swelled up quickly. I loved the personalization of the phone call the Dr. made to check up on how our dog was doing!!

This was only my first visit, but I really liked the environment, doctor and staff. Everyone was friendly and my puppy was seen right away. The doctor, Lisa, was very friendly and asked all of the right questions. She made us feel very comfortable. This vet office also uses an online portal which was very comforting to have a vet who is embracing those tools. I will definitely be choosing this vet for my puppy.

My border collie and I have had great interactions with Drs. Zakai. Both Dan and Lisa have excellent pawside manner. They both explain everything up front and have always answered my questions and addressed any concerns or hesitations. The response time here is also good. I am usually able to get an appointment the same day.

Dr. Zakai and his team at Frederick Road Veterinary Hospital, while usually taking good care of my pets, fraudulently charged us twice for the same test. Then Dr. Dan Zakai was extremely rude to me on the phone. We were discussing whether to get another expensive extra test for my dog whose symptoms had gone away on their own. He was pressing hard for us to pay extra for another unnecessary test. He wouldn't listen to me when I explained that the symptoms had gone away, and that previous testing and my dog's behavior made it extremely unlikely that anything was currently wrong. Even though I am a doctor myself, he insisted on talking over me and - there's no other way to explain it - mansplaining concepts with which I am quite familiar. At one point he told me to stop talking and raised his voice to almost a shout even though I was talking with a normal tone and quite reasonably explaining my dog's behavior to him. I know veterinarians must make money to survive, but it seems to me that Dr. Dan Zakai is overcharging and sending unnecessary tests.

This vet practice demonstrated excellent medical care for my chihuahua Sugar. We were new patients, late for the appointment because I was unfamiliar with the area, and requested to be seen on the same day. The staff and vets, were accommodating and understanding. Even though they had the misfortune of having to give me the diagnosis that Sugar's current health issues were a result of cancer,(lymphoma) they were understanding and empathetic with my current living situation, and with what I wanted for Sugar. The compassion that they showed when I brought Sugar in to let her go, and end her little life of pain and discomfort, was so appreciated and very touching. The following day, a lovely white rose was delivered to my home, along with a sympathy card from the vet practice. Lovely, touching, and an appreciated outreach. I would recommend them to other pet lovers/owners/pet moms and dads. I have other pets and will be calling them to provide vet services, check ups, immunizations, for my other dog and kittie "kids".

They treat my dog here good! Love it, just that without insurance or so, it's pretty expensive. But otherwise, it's pretty cool here.

Dog issue apparently too complicated for both vets. Misdiagnosed malignant tumor as "fatty lump" (even after needle biopsy). It continued to grow with further assurances that it was a fatty lump. Got to size of a golf ball. In spite of claims that it was a fatty lump, we insisted it be removed and then it was fully revealed. We are terrified about other lumps that are too numerous to remove and further claims by these vets that the lumps are also fatty growths. Have moved on to a different vet. They continue to solicit business/contact through emails. Have requested at least 3 times to be removed from solicitation list....IGNORED. These vets are personable and probably great for nails, shots, cuts and fleas. With more serious issues I would look elsewhere.

There's a great team here. Family owned and operated. We love Dr. Beyer! The front desk crew and all of the vet techs that have worked with us are awesome. We have a cat, a dog, and a new puppy. Each gets the time and expert attention they need. They really know you and your pet here. We've never had to 'reintroduce' ourselves or 're-explain' any of our pets' medical history. This isn't the easiest place to notice from traffic among all the tight businesses on Frederick Road in historic Catonsville. Turn on Egges, and you'll find a spacious parking lot and the primary entrance in the rear of the building. There are steps, and a convenient pet/wheelchair accessible ramp leading up to the door. There's a large waiting room with spacious pew seating, so your pet's leash won't get tangled up with any other guests. The wait is never long, and all of the exam rooms are right off the main lobby. Comparable prices, with your choice of paper or emailed receipt. Convenient reminders when shots/exams are due, as well as text message appointment reminder/confirmation the day prior. Consciencious follow-up after every visit. This is the vet you're looking for!

We can't say enough about Dr. Lisa and Dr. Dan and all the staff at the Frederick Road Veterinary Hospital. From the moment we walked in with our 21 year old cat Mollie, they were friendly, compassionate and beyond thoughtful as we had to make one of the hardest decisions of our lives. We will always be grateful to them and the care and love they gave Mollie (and us). They are very very good people.

This Vet is located behind the Bark shop on Frederick Rd in Catonsville. It looks newly renovated and has a kids area in the lobby. The offices are clean and the vets are incredible. The vet and vet assistant knew what they were doing, cared about my dog's and cat's welfare, and got us in and out quickly without spending a boatload of money. They also have an online health portal for your pets to track meds, schedule appointments, and contact your vet. We have made them our permanent vets and would highly recommend them.
