My Goldendoodle, ASCI, has been taken care of there for the past 10 yrs. I walked in, without an appointment, as he has been in pain and laboring. NO other dogs or patients were waiting. No cars in the parking lot. I described his issues and asked to see the Doctor. An assistant at the desk come out and tells me that this will be considered as a "emergency visit" and the MINIMUM charge will be $150.00.
I simply asked then following: "Are you seriously going to charge me a emergency visit after 10 years of treating ASCI "? The response was yes, that would be the "Emergency fee". I asked how many Doctors were in the back. She said there were 3. I asked for a copy of all of ASCI's paperwork. It took about 10 minutes to copy his records (aprox 40 pages).
I took ASCI immediately to the New Dr. Boyd's facility on Rockville Pike. Dr. Boyd's is Beautiful, New with cutting edge technology and is filed with happy, caring people. I explained ASCI's issues, the Dr. came out almost immediately. The Dr. spent 40 minutes with ASCI and gave him a full, hands on Exam. He prescribed a pain killer and a new on the market muscle relaxer. I was in the exam room throughout. The Doc was so engaging, full of knowledge and handled ASCI as if he was his own. The charge for the "new patient, 40 min exam, 2 prescriptions for 30 days? $120.00.
I STRONGLY recommend that you no longer patronize Falls Rd Veterinary Hospital and I also STRONGLY suggest that you visit Dr. Boyd's in Rockville Md.
