We run a local dog rescue and take many dogs (and some cats) to this office. The staff is SO friendly and the vets and techs are very understanding and thorough!!! We love it here and wouldn't change a thing!!! Have boarded dogs there a few times and they all came home very happy and healthy!

We had just moved here and had brought our very sick kitty home from our old vet. When I got home, I realized that they had forgotten to remove his catheter. I called them literally at closing time. They waited for me and removed his catheter even though I wasn't even a client. We are clients now and they have taken wonderful care of all our animals!

They were clean, accommodating and friendly. They even had a fun little game for the kids involving finding and taking a picture of a small toy stuffed dog, somewhere in the office. Their prices are reasonable and their work is very good!

I am a big furry four-legged boy who plays rough...too rough! I blew out my ACL and needed knee surgery. Boy, were my folks worried! But they have a friend who took her big dog to the Emmitsburg Veterinary Hospital for the same problem and she just couldn't say enough good things. So off I went to get my leg fixed. They treated me and my folks wonderfully well from the moment I arrived until they sent me home about 30 hours later. It has been two weeks and I am doing great! My vet, Dr. Jackson, called my folks to check up on me twice so far. All of the folks there were really nice to me even though I am a giant pain sometimes (sorry about the noisy barking and also for wrecking the cone collar). I and my folks are thrilled to know we have this great vet so close to home. Thanks for everything. Follow-up: It's been three years since my surgery and I'm still doing great! I'm ten years old now but still take my "dad" for a walk every morning and evening. It's how I keep my trim 145-pound figure in good shape. Couldn't do it without that awesome knee repair!

They all care about, and have a great love and extreme respect for animals' well-being. Not only is the staff efficent and friendly, they too, are very kind, respectful, and loving. Dr. Jackson, who saved our cat, is an excellent model for what a veterinarian should be...Dr. Jackson "knows his stuff". He doesn't rush through an appointment, and fully explains everything. He is calm, kind, reassuring and patient. Dr. Jackson listens and answers questions in an easy, understandable manner...all the while petting our cat. He does not "talk down" to pet owners. The facility and it's grounds are kept up and are immaculately clean. I highly recommend Emmitsburg Veterinary Hospital because they truly care...

Absolutely love this practice. The entire staff is friendly and professional, the vet techs are knowledgeable, gentle, and patient. The vets are very attentive and thorough and happy to answer any and all questions to ensure you are satisfied and comfortable with your pet's care plan. I've also had my dogs boarded here in addition to regular veterinary care, and that experience was also great. We no longer live in the area which is the only reason we no longer have the pleasure of visiting this practice, but I highly recommend it to anyone in the Emmitsburg, Thurmont, Carroll Valley/Fairfield, Waynesboro, and surrounding areas.

My furbabies arrived with zero fleas. They had even had a bath a few weeks earlier at the same vet and no reports of fleas. They returned home after being boarded for Christmas infested with fleas. The vet office did offer to sell me flea treatment. Also, their complimentary bath is a joke. Our terrier still had matted eyes from tearing. It scares me how they were taken care of during their boarding onsite. I will be finding another vet/boarding and groomer. I would avoid this location if you want your furbabies taken care of with a peace of mind.

Do not let them give you medications there. Ask for a prescription for Walmart. They charge a terribly high price when I could have gotten it for $4 at a pharmacy.

Emmitsburg vet is the only place I trust with my Mal. Ever since we got her at 8 weeks I have been going there for all of her preventive care and checkups. EVERY person I have encountered has been great. They are also a lot more affordable and less pushy than other vets in the area that my other animals have visited in the past. This past week my family and I went on vacation and I was at ease knowing that our dog of a challenging breed was being boarded here. There really is nothing more that they could do to better the experience in my opinion. Thank you for everything you do!

I decided to take my dog here after it came highly recommended from friends in Gettysburg. The staff are friendly and truly love the animals, and it is also great quality daycare. They let them get good and tired! Also they have a pool when it is hot. She never knows if we are going for shots or for playtime so she always looks forward to the vet no matter what the occasion!

Recently had to board our german shepherd for a few days. I called last minute after hearing negative reviews of the facility we originally planned to take him. Since he has had some issues with his actual vet appointments here in the past, we were a little hesitant but the staff was incredible and so sweet to our semi-difficult boy! At drop off we sat and discussed his care and options for him for the week and while we were sad to leave him we knew he would be in good hands. Unfortunately he did end up with a little upset stomach since he has never been boarded before but the staff called us to let us know and immediatley began treating him. I called them again to check on him and they let me feel at ease that he was doing much better and the vet had checked him out. When we picked him up, he was very relaxed and the staff was so wonderful again. Thank you especially to Michael for making this experience wonderful! Its great to know we have somewhere we can now board him if we need to!

I have nothing but good things to say about Emmitsburg Veterinary Hospital. Both of my dogs are seen there for routine veterinary care and my pitbull, Lyric, is also boarded there when I go out of town on business trips. The boarding experience is what originally brought me to Emmitsburg as I had a horrible time finding boarding services that didn't include my dog sitting in a crate the entire time I was gone. She is high strung and somewhat hard to manage due to anxiety and everyone at Emmitsburg loves on her and treats her so well. I drive an hour just to have my pets cared for by these folks. I appreciate them a ton!

I had my doggie Delilah for her annual check up within the last 30-60 days at this office. This office has always been very good starting from therir appointments to the staff, office facility, boarding, etc. Offering times/days that allow me to bring Delilah in after my work hours to their boarding. Delilah gets very anxious when going to the vet, so it's important to have a calm, reassuring environment. Every visit is the same, it doesn't matter who we see the vets are amazing. My dog is a pit bull and I like that she is treated as any other dog is treated, not just because of her breed, or stereotypical responses. The facility itself, examine rooms, etc are always very clean and tidy. The boarding area and outside areas are beautiful and offer pets boarded here room to run. When I have questions they are answered not brushed off and I'm never talked down to. I live in Waynesboro, PA even though we have offices in town I prefer to take my dog here. It might be a little farther away but the service, location and boarding facility is definitely worth it.
