I used to love this vet but have been disappointed with their service lately and have wondered how competent their new vets are. Dr Rossen is great but I just don't know about the others. The last time i was there, it looked like my dog had a huge cancerous mass and was in his last days. After keeping him for 48 hours he was miraculously healed. a $1,000 bill and nothing was wrong?!?!?!? It sucks, cause I really liked this vet.

Very clean facility. Seem to care about your pet like my Chihuahua, Peppy! Like the fact they have sat hours since I work 50+ hrs a week. I need to get back in there for a checkup for her! Canine meds are top notch! Heartguard and Nexguard is what they carry for heartworm and infestation preventative. Not 1 flea in the house using Nexguard. Need to get more for flea season! Also they explain everything thoroughly so you understand what your pet needs.

This is an excellent place for the care of your furry friends. The doctors are pleasant and very capable. The remodeling has really made a lovely difference in the atmosphere. As with most animal clinics it is necessary for you to bring your credit card and try hard not to think about how much the excellent care is costing you. Receptionists are friendly and helpful.

My dog, Taz, is alive and well today because of Dr. Tia Perry. Prior to bringing Taz to CVVC, I had taken him to a “premier” facility in the DC area who only treated his symptoms, not his actual disease, and gave us a grim outlook. Dr. Perry performed thorough research and successfully diagnosed and treated Taz’ illness, which is now in remission. I’ll always be grateful for Dr. Perry’s loving and attentive nature when all hope seemed lost and encourage others to follow in our pawsteps.

Worst vet ever. Never going back. Took my dog to get a x-ray, when it was time to checkout my bill was $300 because they had to take 3 x-rays. Never told me until it was time to pay, the excuse was they couldn't see anything on the first set. My dog was due for shots no one told me no phone call nothing until it was to late and had to start all over again.

We had a appointment set for 11am, we got there early, the vet tech came in after we got to the exam room, and told us that the dr has a tendency to run late. So we waited for the dr to come in. When she did she barely made eye contact with us, spoke a million miles a minute. She acted like she was in a hurry and needed to just get our visit over with as soon as she could. Then she started rattling off everything she wanted to do for treatment, and made a point to tell us how much everything was item by item. While this is nice, had she not been so..... disinterested that would not have bothered me. Seemed as though they or she is just interested in revenue.

Dr. McKenna is the best, hands down!!!! She was very compassionate, caring and helpful to us, while still thinking about our finances and our dogs care, when a tumor was found. Our Angel lived another 4 years happily with us before we had to put her down, at 17 yrs old. A year and half after our Angel passed, we got a new puppy for Mother’s Day and of course we made her puppy appointment with Dr. McKenna. She not only remembered us and our sweet Angel but even talked about her memory and that even with still broken hearts, it was great we were welcoming a new addition to our family. Our new puppy Leia has made a wonderful addition to our family and our hearts. We are very happy knowing Dr. McKenna will care for our new baby with love and compassion as she has done in the past. Even when Dr. McKenna hasn’t been available we’ve always had good vet appointments with the other staff we have seen.

I was personally impressed when making the appointment for the complimentary health assessment for our newly acquired family member Susie (from H.S. of Washington County). I was unable to make the trip but my wife did with Susie and found the facility to be very inviting and the staff friendly and professional (especially the veterinarian Dr. Stemley who had previously met our little girl). Ginny was so impressed that she mentioned if we lived in the area of Cumberland Valley Veterinary Clinic she would have no qualms about having them as our veterinary practice. Go to doctor Perry and not doctor Watson. I’ve been taking my chinchillas and my dog here for over 3 years (the only vet for them ever!) and I still cannot get over what happened this morning to my poor baby. My fiancé and I took our dog for his yearly check up and shots today and were surprised to meet a new doctor. For starters, she never once said hi to our dog or petted him to make him feel comfortable. She came straight in and wanted to put him on the table. He has never once been put on the table here! He’s 45 pounds! He does great on the floor and has no problem getting himself on the table. His big thing is he hates being picked up and we told her this MANY times, so of course she continued to do it and he bit one of the techs. The tech storms angrily out of the room, so unprofessional. And everything went downhill from there. Next problem, she demands a muzzle! He hates muzzles and has never needed one in his life! ANYWHERE! So this makes it 1,000 times worse, his anxiety is through the roof, and this gets nothing accomplished besides him just fighting to rip it off. This whole experience was a nightmare, and to be honest, I’m not even sure if they gave him the shots that we paid for(they took him to the back). He has never acted this way and they brought out a side of my dog that made me cry once we got into the car, he was so terrified. We had to tell her no multiple times of things he didn’t like and she continued to do! We know our dog, he didn’t deserve this treatment, and I don’t think the 2 techs and doctor are qualified at ALL. My dog isn’t a dangerous dog and has never been afraid of the vet. Yet she doesn’t have the time of day to hi to him or make him comfortable, but you bet by the time we leave there’s a big ALERT next to his name on the paper. If that’s not telling, I don’t know what is. We NEVER had this problem with doctor Perry, and now my baby has ALERT next to his name because of that woman’s stupidity. Unbelievable.

Brought in a foster cat to be neutered (Humane Society provides vouchers for the service). I agreed to pay for the collar to keep kitty from biting his sutures, no big deal. Go to pick him up and the vet had added multiple charges for services that were NOT requested, nor discussed at any point. I show up to pick up my cat and get blindsided with a bunch of surprise charges. This was supposed to be a free service for fostering a cat. The staff''s response to my confusion was essentially "that's what we do and it's done so pay for it." DO. NOT. RECOMMEND.

Used to be a good place. I think they've gotten too big for their britches. Took them almost a year, and they still didn't figure out my poor wiener dog's skin condition. You him to Funkstown. Relief in less than 2 days, and he seems to be cured after a month. Cumberland Valley didn't run any tests, merely examined him. Gave him wrong antibiotics. Just about everything they did could have been avoided if they'd run simple tests. Not sure if their new doggy resort/kennel is any good, but I wouldn't trust them.

Had nearly all (23) of our 4 yr old Papillon's teeth removed, due to gum disease. They cautiously estimated our total may be nearly $1,500 in the end. They have a surgeon and anesthesiologist on staff thru-out the procedure. However, we were delighted that it cost less than $700 after all was done, including his rxs to go home. Very nice, professional staff that care about your fur babies. Love them!!

Been taking my dog there 13 years. Always paid full amount in cash. Now when she's got a heart problem and I can't pay 400 up front for a procedure they won't do a payment plan. They want to say. Another option is to euthanize for 55 dollars. Are you kidding?!

After knowing some of the people who work in the pet boarding and sitting, i would highly not recommend letting Cumberland valley watch ANY of my animals. The workers are more focused on drama and picking on eachother rather than watching your animals, then the few good employees have to pickup where others left off. That works fine until there is miscommunication and your animal is left unfed, medication forgets to be given, or dosent get to go to the bathroom. Ive heard multiple horror stories from multiple people who are/was employed. I would look around for other options before allowing any of this crew watch my animals.

I used to bring both of my dogs here for about 14 years. It used to be a really nice place. A long time ago the staff was very respectful and sympathetic when I had my 13 year old pit bull put down due to old age. Now though the staff seems snobby and in a hurry to judge you for being "a bad dog owner." Dr. Tia Perry is a horrible vet. Don't see her if you are in need of assistance. She is rude and judgemental. She tried to say our dog needed fixed because his prostate gland was swollen. He got on some meds which by the way they didn't tell me at the desk I could get cheaper by buying two weeks at a time instead of one week at a time. Anyway the meds worked and our hansome man had been fine ever since but she still kept pushing for us to get him fixed. She is all about money and does NOT care about your pet.

I made an appt for my guinea pig and was seen the next day. From the moment I walked in the front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. The vet assistant was very gentle weighing my guinea pig and was very professional asking questions. Dr Perry was awesome! She looked over my guinea and gave me so much information about the care for him. She even showed me how to clip his nails. She was patient and thorough and I never felt like I was rushed. The prices were very reasonable as well. I will definitely be back for my guinea pigs needs.

I want to start 1st by saying that they have a Very Nice & Clean office !! But dont let that fool you ....I took my 5 year old German Shepard to get a over all checked up and i needed them to check his eyes out because he was having some discharge from his eyes..Once back in the room the tech came in and was pretty friendly, I asked her if they could cut my dogs nails too while he was there and she did with no problems, she then brought Boh (mydog) back in the room and we waited to see Dr.Wesley as soon as he walked in the room you could clearly tell that he was terrified and he kinda froze & stood there Boh was barking but never once grawled at the man !!!!! He starts off by 1st saying he doesnt trust My Dog and he doesnt know him !!! I was like WHAT !!! So he oreders the tech to go get a muzzle....At this point im furious, He then tells me next time we schdule we should request another Vet. He never examines my dogs while in the room ....He just tells me there eyes look fine and its most likely environmental!!!!!! So thats it ...My dog is sooo worked up at this point!! My husband takes Boh out to our truck...I feel like we completely wasted our time goin there today, I Even took a day off work. The woman at checkout tells me i owe $147.00!!!! Which totally blows me away and im so upset at this point that i pay it and leave ASAP!!! Then once i actually got to think about the situation....IT WAS WRONG !!!! How he treated my Dog and the lack of service that we got was ALL WRONG !!!! And i still paided for it !!! This man is a vet but is clearly Afraid of dogs !!!!! He was so unprofessional!!! I will not be returning to this Office because like most people my TIME & MONEY & ANIMALS are very important to me!!

These guys are AMAZING! My family has taken pets to Cumberland Valley for years, but my recent experience has proven again that they are awesome. Last Monday, I took my 14 year old cat, Moses, in. He was showing signs of several potential illnesses. The staff was very kind and patient while explaining everything to me. Moses stayed with them for 2 days and was very well cared for. They were incredibly patient while explaining to me how to give my newly diabetic kitty insulin. But what really proved to me that they are truly caring people was the phone calls I've received from Dr. Dolan and Dr. McKenna, to give me updates on Mo while he was in their care, and since he's been home to check in and see how he's doing and if I have any concerns. I love that they care enough to make those calls and it means a lot that they took the time.

They cared SO much when we recently had to send our kitty over the Rainbow Bridge. Decent prices, even has a "pet resort", but we've never used that - really attentive boarding I guess. They simply rock.

I would leave an explanation of why after taking our pets to this clinic over 15yrs that we have come to the conclusion we need to find another clinic. The last couple procedures we had done with two different family pets have made in 110% clear that MONEY is what matters most to them. I challenge the clinic to contact me as to why. If they did that maybe it would say they care enough to know but I won’t hold my breathe. It’s obvious they don’t need anyone business because they have too much.

We had a wonderful experience at Cumberland Valley Vet! They were quick, no nonsense, and DIDN'T TRY TO UPSELL ME. All we needed was a bordetella vaccine....and they didn't read me the long laundry list of everything else I could/should get for my dog. So refreshing!!! We will be back.

Very Irresponsible We boarded our dog there for a little over a week right after Thanksgiving. In that short time, she lost 4 to 5 pounds due to a parasite that she contracted at their "resort" facility, in the back of their office. When I picked her up, I had a very sick dog. They claimed that she was sick due to the parasite called Giardia, which she caught there. Dr. Wesley said that she was just anxious because she was boarded. He said that there was nothing wrong with my dog. It cost me about $250 more to have her evaluated and to run the fecal test, that determined that she was sick and infected with Giardia. I now have to sanitize my house so that she does not re-infect and so that my husband and I don't contract it, as it is also contagious to humans. It has been a nightmare.

Absolutely no wait, we were taken back right at our appointment time. They did everything they could to make sure my cat got better. It has only been a day since our visit and he is already so much better and is eating normally again. It was a little pricey but it is worth it. The vet listened to all of our concerns and got our opinions about all the tests she was running and all the medications she prescribed. Other vets have charged me and not been helpful at all. I would rather come to a place that cares about my pet and get him the actual help he needs, even if it is a little bit pricier. Overall, this is a great vet with very friendly and helpful staff. Will be coming back for any future visits.
