We've always had great visits and interactions with everyone from the front desk staff to the techs to the vets, but had only been for well visits and check ups. It wasn't until our dog was actually sick (scary for a first time dog mom!) that we saw Chadwell shine. We were seen for an emergency appointment right away and were treated with great care, answering any and all questions we had. While I think we would go to the ends of the earths for our pets and pay whatever needed to be paid it is definitely a plus that Chadwell has fair and reasonable pricing for services.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place after taking my ferret here. He suddenly developed a bad case of ear mites and we knew we had to get him seen quick. After calling around to other vets and being told that none of them see ferrets, they finally recommended this place to me. I called and explained the situation, and they made sure to get him in the very same day. They definitely didn’t have to do that but they completely went out of their way to treat him. All of the staff was very professional and polite and made sure my ferret was comfortable throughout the whole process. They even let us look at the mites under a microscope (which was gross, but pretty cool!) I have two cats and another ferret, and I will definitely be taking all of them here from now on. They are also VERY affordable. I didn’t walk out of there feeling ripped off like I have in the past with other vets. All around it was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend this place.

Our vet sent us to Chadwell with a baby bunny my son and his girlfriend had nursed for two weeks. The cutey had been run over by a lawn mower and, when I discovered the situation , her back leg had set at the wrong angle. They took her in, allowed a goodbye after intake and provided phone updates on her.

Chadwell is my first choice for reptile care. The building is very spacious and beautiful, and it's as clean as a hospital should be. The doctors are very helpful and you can tell everyone is very passionate about their jobs and the pets and pet parents they treat. I travel 40 minutes to come to this vet clinic, and it's absolutely worth it.

Waiting area can be hectic but make sure you notify them if your pet may be scared and they can hopefully fast track you to a room. Very accommodating. They go above and beyond to check on your pet post visits. reasonable pricing. I tried a homeward bound mobile vet in harford county and they gave my 19yr old cat vaccinations...really?!? First off, I didn’t authorize it. Secondly, they vaccinated him in his leg muscle which led to serious issues. I rushed him to Chadwell and they saved his life from an unnecessary vaccination injected in the incorrect spot. I’ll never call the mobile vet again and only use Chadwell.

Chadwell Animal Hospital staff are compassionate, helpful, polite, professional and love their work. You can tell when you walk in the Hospital. Animals of all kinds are cared for at Chadwell. Excellent veterinary care for your pets, period! Humane, loving, through, fair, not overly priced, we wouldn't ever go anywhere else. We just had to send our 19-20 yr old Border Collie mix over the Rainbow Bridge, but Dr. Shaupp and staff have taken very good care of her for many years. We are very grateful to everyone at Chadwell, grateful to Dr. Haskins for assisting us on short notice without an appointment on our fur baby's last day, and if we adopt another dog again we will be coming back. I tell you they are the best!!

I had two senior yorkies who were sisters. I loved the care chadwell gave my girls. They treated them like their own. When the day came when I had to say good bye to my babys they were treated with such dignity and respect. And they were very comforting to me during that very sad time. This is not an exotic vet. There is an obvious disconnect between what and exotic vet is and what services are marketed here. Read the reviews about the poor hedgehog and the capuchin monkey and ask yourself if you could trust your pet to this man? It doesn’t matter if you like the other staff, etc. the vet does not have the training or knowledge to treat true exotics. If your exotic pet is family to you, you might reconsider.

Chadwell animal hospital got my puppy in for an emergency appointment when my regular vet could not. My dog had an acute ear infection, and I was very worried about him. Chadwell got me in very quickly (within 3 hours), and took excellent care of him. Chadwell got me medicine and my puppy is better. The front office staff was very accommodating, and the doctor was extremely good at explaining everything he did and wanted. I was very comfortable with the level and amount of care that I received. I was also comfortable with the cost involved. They did such a great job, I am considering changing from my regular vet. I had Doctor Gold. I very much like him, and I would let him work on any of my three animals.

The staff at Chadwell Animal Hospital are all professional, friendly and helpful from addressing your needs as best they can over the phone, making your pets appointment and from the moment you walk in the door. The front desk staff greets you immediately upon walking in the doors. The tech that comes out to the waiting area greets you as well as your pet. The tech made my dog "Blaze" feel comfortable in the exam room by getting down to his level, petting him, and assuring him he was in good hands with a few treats. When the Doctor enters the room she treats him just as well as the tech. Nothing is forced and they are very patient and thorough with their exam. They explained everything in detail and ask if you have questions when done! I felt very comfortable and not rushed! I have gone three times to Chadwell and every time it takes too long to see the doctor. I even booked the first appointment of the day, 9 am. The vet didn’t even come into the room until 9:25. Had a great experience getting my rabbit Cassie spayed here. The front office staff is very friendly, as are the techs and veterinary staff. They all clearly love animals! Dr. Gold patiently answered all of my questions over the phone a couple of days after the surgery. Within a few days Cassie was her normal self, no issues from the surgery whatsoever. I highly recommend them if you need to have your rabbit spayed or neutered!

This place has the most educated staff members. Everyone is always super friendly and the place is clean. We originally only came here for our reptiles to be seen but now they are our main vet. I'm always very leery of vets because my babies are my world and of course I want nothing but the best care for them and Chadwell provides. We recently had to send our slightly overweight 10 year old cat for a dental and I was worried sick about it but they made me feel as comfortable about it as I possibly could and everything went well. LOVE Chadwell!! Dr. Malick is wonderful (along with the rest of the staff!)! She took the time to explain the model of a dog’s knee to my daughter when she found out that my daughter was curious about. She had to climb up and retrieve the model from on top of the cabinet and did it without any hesitation. Not to mention my dog is completely at ease with her. LOVE!!

OUTSTANDING STAFF AND SERVICE..I have taken my parrots to Chadwell A.H. for years..there are not many Avian vets in the area and my longtime parrot was not acting right...they saw us right away as an emergency..our Amazon went into heart and respiratory failure while we were there and they did everything they could to save her but she passed. We were able to sit as long as we wanted with our parrot to mourn and hold her close. The entire staff was so supportive and understanding. We had her cremated and brought her home with us where she belonged. I am grateful for everyone at Chadwell and will continue to be a client for our other feathered family..Thank you to everyone for all your kindness support.......

My wife and I have taken my dog who has serious ear and skin issues to around 15-20 vets from the east coast and the Midwest. No vet was able to find a way to treat him that helped. Thousands of dollars wasted on no relief for my little guy until Chadwell we went there for the first appointment and the vet recognised the cause immediately. I love Chadwell animal hospital so much so I want to tell my own personal story on how I started coming here. A few years ago I had a guinea pig that had a severe abscess that needed to be drained. I took her to a vet in Baltimore that charge me $250 and did absolutely nothing but telling me that since they don't seek exotic pets I have to take her to a place called Chadwell Animal Hospital. The only great good thing they told me was this great Animal Hospital that will treat exotic pets, charge me 250 was ridiculous when they did absolutely nothing. Anyway it was a blessing in disguise because ever since then I've been taking my guinea pig to Chadwell and they were able to remove her abscess via surgery, even kept her overnight. It was a success story as she even lived a few more good years before she passed from old age. Anyone who has guinea pigs know they only live an hour job 3 to 7 years so even after having surgery for her to live that much longer was a blessing. I now take my chihuahua here and have nothing but good things to say about this place. They take good care of her, they are always polite and professional, and I love Dr. Williams! I had Dr. Uri for my guinea pig, but she's no longer at the practice. My parents and my sister also take their dogs here because they are just that good and you will not regret taking your animal there. They're also reasonably priced as well and they see emergency animals. No inconsistency Mr. Gold, your just looking for a reason to justify your rudeness! Front desk staff was nice to my face, but misleading on the phone. I do not appreciate your accusing me of lying! I was clear and upfront from the beginning, explaining where my finances were and that you were a good 30 minute drive away. I did not say my bunny was convulsing...I have no idea where that came from...IF MS. Williams is oh so familiar with bunnies, why then could she not answer ANY of my basic questions?? But instead referred me to a website??? She knows the tests she ran were NOT necessary, but rather routine for new pet owners. She played on my emotions and She ordered unnecessary tests to pad your pocket!! I NEVER agreed to almost $200!!! She did discuss a price, I was forthright about my finances and stated if the tests weren't absolutely necessary, I could not proceed. I was clearly told more than once total was around $100. I DID NOT agree to price I was billed...entire visit was not pleasant. I left in tears because I was so upset with the way I was treated!! Bottom line - Chadwell was not as great as everyone says!! All I'm saying and hoping to accomplish is for other people to not get the same treatment!! By far the WORST customer service, when the owner calls you a liar and hangs up on you??!! Please don't make the same mistake I did... DON'T TAKE YOUR PET here!!

My dog was having a problem with shaking his head persistently which turned out to be an ear infection which he is prone to. They got us in the day I called and since he was due for his shots and check up they did everything the same day. The vet was very nice and professional. Took my wife's guinea pig here on Friday, they said that she needed a dental procedure so that she could eat as her teeth had overgrown, they said that we would be provided with pain medication to help after we got her home. We tried giving her the medicines that they gave us (mostly probiotics) and syringe feeding her. She refused to eat and even if we got some in her, she would regurgitate almost immediately. Finally she died on Sunday afternoon, wimpering in my wife's arms, no pain medication, a very sad way to go. This place cannot treat exotic animals.

I would like to thank the doctors and the staff for being so supportive yesterday (2/11/19). I called in hopes that my rabbit could be seen ASAP because her health was declining rapidly and even though the office was closing early (for weather purposes) your staff was willing to see Bunny past the closing time. When I got there, I believe it was Dr. Ruby Schaupp who saw Bunny. She did a quick exam on Bunny and realized that Bunny was ready to stop fighting. I have never had a doctor show so much emotion and make me feel like she truly understands. The entire staff showed a great amount of empathy, I really can’t thank you all enough. Although the experience was so heartbreaking I would not have wanted it to happen any other way and at any other place. Thank you so much for your support and care. You all have no idea how much it means to animal lovers like myself. I will definitely recommend your office to others!

I used to bring my dog here, but it became evident that the staff were too afraid of my dog and frankly, incompetent to properly take care of his needs. I have a big dog and since they checked his anal glands, he vocally let us know that he no longer loved the vet like he used to, so they muzzled him. I was fine with this; he's a big boy and no one should get hurt. My problem is that despite the muzzle, they still didn't do the proper testing needed to properly diagnose his ear infection. They just looked inside my dog's ear with a light and diagnosed. After 2 weeks, I told them that the medication they supplied had no change, they suggested I comeback in and get more of the same meds. The second dosage around - again, no change. After about 3 weeks from my initial visit and 2 dosages of the ear meds, the condition had worsened. They tell me that it takes about another 2 weeks (now over a month's time) for the infection to clear and suggested the same exact medication. At this point, I was fed up and went to another vet. At the first visit of this new vet, I had them muzzle my dog for proper testing. Despite my dog's vocal disapproval, they did all of what they needed to do to see what was going on. They completed a cytology and diagnosed that my dog had a yeast infection and bacterial infection and put different meds in his ears right there on the spot. Literally 1 week later, I noticed improvement, and it totally cleared up by the second week. Also, I have found that I pay significantly cheaper prices at my new vet for my dog's monthly heart worm and flea/tick meds and that they actually cover for more types of parasites. Never looked back since. 2 stars because I absolutely loved the front desk staff and they LOVED my pup. But no one goes to the vet for receptionist so...

The veterinarians were very good, but this is a very busy practice, and it shows in the staff and wait times. We had been bringing both our dogs here; after one 40 minute wait, with a dog who I had told them was very wary in vet offices, we almost left the practice. We did get a nice response to my note, so we stayed. Fast forward to the same dog needing surgery. We had an appointment with the surgeon that the local pet ER recommended - a new vet from those we had seen. I spoke with the office the day before to confirm the appointment, ask about fasting my dog and to remind them again he was very nervous so we would appreciate being able to get him out of the busy waiting room quickly. We came to the appointment - the front desk was perfunctory in our greeting, but OK, they're busy. We waited a full half hour, with our large dog visibly shaking, and decided to leave. I was on the phone with a different practice to try to get in when my husband told the desk we were leaving because a half hour wait to even get into a room was ridiculous. When they told him "well, we have other appointments you know, and we're ready for you now anyway" we knew leaving was the right choice. If you have an exotic or other animal that requires specialty care, the wait may be fine and they may be better, but our dogs will be going elsewhere.

I started going to Chadwell about 10 years ago with my 2 house rabbits. Because they see so many exotic animals and have a lot of experience treating rabbits. Love the doctors and all the staff. Always friendly and very caring. I also take my 3 year old dog there for care as well, even though I no longer live in the area and have to drive close to an hour to get to Chadwell. I want to best care for my babies and a little extra time on the road is worth my peace of mind. I would highly recommend Chadwell to anyone. Oh, and the interest animals you would see in the waiting area are always fun. Seeing a bold eagle coming in for treatment is just another day at Chadwell. :-)

The staff at front desk have this place running like a well oiled machine which is impressive considering how big and busy they are. They check you in quickly and even though there’s a lot going on I never felt lost in the shuffle and didn’t have to wait long for anything. Everyone was polite and friendly. It may sound silly, but I was impressed the vet gave vaccinations herself instead of leaving the room and sending the techs in later to give the shots. It makes it seem like the vet has some personal investment in my dog’s health.

They were able to clip my pups nails without sedation all other vets had to sedate her it was amazing I couldn't believe it . it also is very clean place an they help injured wild life an also do exotic pets. As far as I know they are the only exotics vet in HarCo so they have the market to charge as much. The front desk is hit or miss on how friendly they are. I appreciate the kind ones. Chadwell Animal Hospital is the best veterinarian clinic I've ever been to, hands down. Dr. Gold is fantastic, I have the utmost faith in him. He successfully performed an eye removal on my dwarf hamster, which I honestly didn't even think was possible. The techs & front desk staff are incredibly nice & helpful. Oh and they have incredibly reasonable prices! I expected the surgery to cost so much more than what it came out to, with medication and everything.
