No.1,always helping you and your pet in anyway to make going to the vet a good experience. No matter what the issue, they are with you. They are always super with all our dogs.Very compassionate when our pups went to heaven.
Excellent Veterinary service. Very clean and respectful. The staff are some of the most caring and professional people in the service. Would highly recommend them.
Expensive
I started taking my 3 dogs there about 6 months ago. Appointments are easily scheduled with friendly, efficient staff. It is a state of the art facility that is kept impeccably clean. The vets have always been knowledgeable and caring and the rates are within reason.
Great place, our dogs like bring boarded here!
Took very good care of Chewy for his neuter yesterday. He was great. They also had lots of great info for me with him and his food intake and what kind etc. Great Team!!
Excellent but expensive.
So we got are pitbulls fixed and they were a little older they're both rescues. Right after the surgery we found out that our oldest one had a autoimmune blood disorder that we were never informed about. Buckeystown veterinarian and dr. Karen saved our pups life they were terrific they care about their animals and you take care of their people so if you are in the mood for a different vet please go see them they. Great
I've been taking my pets here ever since I moved to Maryland in 95
The staff is friendly. Some of them are cute. My dog hates this place.
Our favorite vet. We've been taking our dogs there for years. Friendly office staff and the prices are reasonable. The vets really care about your pets.
Great place
The Vets are all great. Office staff are very helpful. I highly recommend this Clinic.
I do not recommend for epilepsy treatment. I think the vets and owner genuinely care about the animals and are great vets for general needs. The veterinarian at BTV recommended changing our beloved pups meds to a newer epilepsy medication. We did so on their recommendation; a year later the meds were no longer working. It took several phone calls, two office visits to BTV, followed by an ER visit, and an appointment with a neurologist to find out we never should have touched her meds. At one point in time, she was taking 4 pills in the morning, and 4 at night without actually controlling the epilepsy. I chose to see a neurologist. The neurologist recommended we go back into the original medication. We did and her condition drastically improved.
The best all inclusive vet around. Dr Miller and her whole staff are amazing!
Great vet. Many vets on staff, often get to choose to see the same on each visit, but can go with first available. Very friendly at the desk. Seemed average on cost. Never tried their boarding operation. Used them for years.
Love the service
Great vets. Reasonable boarding rates
Simply the Best. From front desk through top veterinarians and assistants, animals are cared for with top quality and compassion. You pets are treated as if they were the staff's own.
Excellent care and service. Super nice and friendly staff. Hank the Heeler and Nilah the bulldog enjoyed their visit!
Taking your aging animal to the vet is very stressful. I was able to get assistance for improving my pets quality of life. It is always a financial burden! I guess it is the sacrifice for owning a pet.
Highly highly recommend. The staff was awesome. Friendly and very welcoming. Very knowledgeable Will definitely be returning
Very competent and caring staff.
this is best vet hands down! I have been going here for years! And Dr. Hain is a really great doctor! and she really good with my two dogs! and they love her! she very knowledgeable and isnt quick to order all these expensive test! they also reason priced compare to other vets in Montgomery county!
I’ve been taking my dog there for 3 years now. And I won’t be anymore. This is the fifth time when I go and they charge me for extra exams that they didn’t tell me of when I would drop my dog off for only grooming. I went to pick up dog from grooming and they charged me for skin scrapping test, 2 exams for his eyes which they never called me to let me know they were going to do that or if it’s ok. I came and the bill was $390! I told them that wasn’t right and the receptionist was even confused and took off the skin scrapping exam. How can they do things to my dog without telling me first. This happens all the time here. Huge schemers!! Won’t be back Only came cause I loved how Brenda cut his hair.
We boarded our dog there for 4 days and nights while we were on vacation. We went to pick her up after getting back and the staff was unfriendly and most didn’t even acknowledge us when we came in. When reviewing her stay information for payment, there was a charge for a vaccine that we did not know about. When we questioned them about it, they said it was necessary in order for her to be boarded there. We were never asked or gave any consent for our dog to be vaccinated and we were never told that vaccination was necessary. When we told them we were never asked about a vaccination, they said she needed it to stay there and whoever dropped her off consented. Considering I was the one who dropped her off and went over everything with them, I was shocked by the conversation. Our dog already had this vaccination and they never bothered to contact her vet or ask me if she was up to date on this vaccination. Realizing our dog had been double vaccinated, we asked if that would hurt her and the response was “she should be fine.” We had given a bag of toys for her to play with since she is very active and we wanted to make sure she wasn’t just sitting around doing nothing and being bored. We also left a specific bowl that she needs for eating to keep her from eating too fast and gagging. When we got home, we realized the bowl had never been used and the toys had never been touched. Some of the toys being brand new made it obvious they were never given to her. We did speak with a manager the following day and she was very pleasant to deal with and gave us a small refund on her playtime. She was the absolute only positive part of this experience and we will not be bringing our dog back again.
Great staff! The veterinarians are knowledgable and friendly. The facilities are clean.
We found Buckeystown Vet a few years ago and it's the best one we've ever found. It's also much cheaper than any other vet we've ever been too. We've brought our goats here quite a few times (and some house calls) for a number of issues and the vets are always friendly and knowledgeable. We have also brought our cats here and had similar good experiences. We'll never use another vet!
Love the vets and other staff here. They take pride in their work and care for the animals.
From a staff friendliness perspective, technicians and vets, they are top notch. reception just average, maybe above. While I am not a customer of record, they are the vet for the foster dogs in a program I volunteer so I am often in and out, picking up a dog, or seeing a vet, who ever is available, and only had good experiences. From a recommendation standpoint, they are voted BEST VET by our local magazine. With that said, they are not my vet so second in my book! Good look with what ever you and your furbaby need!
Am currently taking my 9 month-old Golden Retriever in for accupuncture treatments. We have seen major improvement in a short time! I would highly recommend Dr. Frances Dougherty. She is Great! Knowledgeable, caring and efficient!
I brought my dog there for grooming and they cut his leg and toenails too close. He bled all over my car seat. I took him back in and they were kind enough to give him some stuff to stop the bleeding. Despite the couple of nicks, the trim was nice
The best people
We brought our rescued pit bull here for his initial appointment and the staff were absolutely great. I felt that the vet was very personable and she got down on the floor with our dog rather than having me put him up on the table and hold him there. Everything went seamlessly and we were in and out (with a treat) efficiently, but not so efficiently that I felt we weren't getting individualized attention.
I have been going to Buckeystown since I had animals as a kids. Prices are reasonable considering they are also a pretty hospital. Great staff and friendly
Super friendly staff. Really like working with them.
They really care about you and your pets. It's not all about the money with them.
I have been bringing my cats here for over 20 years. I have brought in strays, ferals , my mushy housepets...and every animal has always received the BEST care. They have saved the lives of several of my babies. They will research anything and try any treatment needed. For example, my cat Joseph was being hospitalized in intensive care at another hospital. I was uncomfortable with the vet's diagnosis there. The vets at Buckeystown called Cornell Univ for advice on his condition, and then called the other vet to intervene on Joseph's behalf. So instead of putting Joseph down, he "miraculously" recovered and was released to me in two days after following their recommendations. I will never go anywhere else with my cats.
Been going here for years. Everyone is friendly and they care for your pets. They even offer home visits for an extra fee.
I like the easy they have separate seating areas for dogs and cats. Dr. George is terrific!
Took my perfectly healthy dog there yesterday & then picked up a very sick dog who was swollen, non stop vomiting & developed TONS of hives most likely from getting stung because they failed to mention they've been having a bees nest problem in the kennel. Then they wanted to charge more money. We've always taken our animals here so pretty disappointed & won't be coming back.
Absolutely nothing but an amazing experience every time. The veterinarians are top notch and the staff is helpful.
This vet hospital has a great reputation among its neighbors, and it draws customers from far and wide. If you value friendly service, you will not be disappointed.
Best Veterinary service in Frederick area
Dr. Deluca recently assisted us in regards to breeding our dog. She was patient, answered all questions, and spent a lot of time with us. It is very hard to find a veterinary reproductive specialist nowadays and we are happy that we found her. The charges were less than we expected as well.
Very caring vets
Very nice staff
I have taken my two Himalayans there and gotten stellar service. Today, a large friendly dog followed my husband home while he was walking our dog. The nice dog let me check his collar after a bowl of water. His tags were very scratched, but I could read his name, his rabies tag number and "Buckeystown Vets". I called the vets office, they looked up his rabies tag number which matched his name! I gave them my number and address. His family just picked him up! Kudos to the lovely lady with whom I spoke at Buckeystown Vets! <3
I like this vet I took my dog there on a emergency case they took him right away and the vet told me my dog had a stroke and there was meds we could try but she said that might not make him better and I made the hardest decision I never had to do in my life to put him to sleep they let me stay with him as long as I wanted to the staff was very nice and understanding so when IAM ready for another pet I will be calling them for my vet I just want to say THANK YOU all very much
I chose Buckeystown on a whim in 1993 after adopting my first dogs from the shelter on Rosemont Ave. At the time, Dr. Miller had a small office (now the rehabilitation area) with one room in which to see pets. Back then the service and compassion were top notch. I have since moved from Frederick to Mount Airy, and while my first two dogs passed on a few years ago, I STILL choose to take four young Border Collies from Mount Airy to see the docs at Buckeystown. After 20 years of going to this vet practice, I can say that I am happy that they have so much care to offer to my pets! Drs. Hain and Lowenstein are wonderful! My husband and I agree, its worth the drive and the money if you know your pets are in good hands! Thank you Buckeystown Vet Hospital!! ~ Cindy and Tony Derrenberger
Very kind and caring staff
Great place to take ur animals
Though far from our home, we loved the service, attention and love with which with Dr. Miller and her staff showed towards our pup while taking care of Midnight. Questions were answered and we left at ease knowing our dog was in good hands.
The staff is wonderful! You can tell they care deeply about animals
We love this clinic! The quality of care is excellent, which is ultimately the main objective. But, in addition to providing good care, the staff are friendly and kind. Doctors communicate treatment options with compassion and understanding. They treat each pet like family. A big bonus is that the costs are very reasonable when compared to the more urban clinics that are closer to metropolitan DC. Well worth the drive from Bethesda.
Always so nice and they love our animals as much as their own!
Great vet/boarding place!
We started our little dream farmette complete with six lambs, too many chickens to count and two LGD dogs about two years ago. It's been a tough learning curve for us, but Buckeystown Vet has been there for us every step of the way. From Sunday morning emergency farm visits for a down lamb to well puppy checks, they have been there to educate us, treat our livestock aliments and keep up with the progress of each sick animal. My hat is off to this group of phenomenal female vets! Yes, you read that right, the vets are all women and I, for one, couldn't be more pleased. They truly care about the animals and their families in their care and always go the extra mile to make sure your animals get the best possible care. I always recommend Buckeystown Vet to friends.
I can't speak for the whole clinic but every one of the staff I met has been amazing. I have a Newfoundland with hip dysplasia and we come here for physical therapy. In the two months or so we've been coming in he's made huge improvement. The Dr and technicians on the therapy side are awesome, and the admin staff that I've dealt with have all been exceptional. Every time I come in he gets to meet new people and they all treat him like a rock star. If you are in the market for a canine physical therapist I don't think you can find a better group of people, and if you are in need of a vet I highly doubt you'll be disappointed here.
Everything was good except the older lady who rang me up at the end. Very rude and acted as if any work she had to do was too much of a bother. She made me feel like i was too much of a bother and she didnt want to do anything more than minimum work
the staff is all super sweet and helpful, my puppy loves them!!!
I am writing this at the request of our 13 y.o. mini red dachshund, Toby, who was treated by Mary McKissick. We had driven 3 days from Texas and during this time Toby became very ill and would not eat nor drink. He was very lethargic and seemed close to the end. It was not the traveling in our motorhome as he always did this for years. We took him to Buckeystown Vet Hospital per the recommendation of our daughter in law. What a blessing this was as Mary Ann did a thorough check of him and gave him meds ,which within 2 days a remarkable improvement came about. He is back to his old self and will follow up as needed. My wife, Toby, and I are very blessed to have such a caring professional as Mary . I must also thank, all the staff for their concern and actions. Again, our deepest gratitude and God bless... The Clinton's, Jim, Mary, and Toby
I've been to Buckeystown Veterinary Hospital a few times for regular appointments. I've had a great experience with the exception of one visit. I honestly believe that was an off-day for the office and not the normal experience. Recently I had an emergency with my dog and met with dr. Parrish. She is amazing, kind and very knowledgeable. She set my mind at ease concerning the situation and went above and beyond. At the end of the visit I assumed my bill would be astronomical and it came in at about $250. That was really impressive given the situation. I will continue to take my dog there and highly recommend dr. Parrish.
My veterinary doctor is very friendly and willing to all questions. All the staff have been quick and friendly.
They take wonderful care of our animals
This is the best place!!! This is where our pet gles for any vet visits and where we board her while we are traveling.
I am very comfortable taking my beloved pet here for care. This is my second family pet to receive care here and I wouldn't have it any other way. Both the doctors and vet techs have a strong love for animals and it shows in the care they provide to our fur babies. I have also kennels my pet here. I like the fact that if anything happened to her they would know exactly how to care for her since they have her medical history on hand. I would recommend this place to anyone who has a pet.
These folks are awesome!
Is amazing place
Always see happy animals and great staff
Love it
Love Buckeystown. We have used veterinary, grooming and boarding services and would highly recommend all. The staff and doctors are friendly, caring and loving to our pets, both cats and dogs. Grooming service for our dog always gives us a smile. And couldn't be happier with the boarding. We never have to worry leaving our nervous nelly doggie with them! All great services in one place.
We have always had a great experience taking our dog here. We recently had to put him down, and they sent us a card that everyone signed. It was a very thoughtful gesture and was really appreciated.
Love this vet! Staff is very caring!
I took my cat there for his first appointment after we adopted him. Dr. Miller was abhorrent towards my cat who was already anxious about being there, yelled in his face and aggressively handled him. She was super unhelpful and offered vague information and advice around next steps for him, as he was having stomach issues. Unfortunately, that was enough for me and we quickly switched vets after. Wouldn't recommend this practice to anyone, especially if they are scheduled with Dr. Miller.
Very courteous and knowledgeable people, their love of Animals is easily discerned.
Great service and very professional staff. Heather was awesome with our dog and made her feel comfortable during the rehab.
These people are great. I use the rehab facility for my pooch, and they are the best. They understand my dog, even though he's not usually in the best mood at the vets.
Great place with excellent care.
I've been bringing my Fur Kids to BVH, since 1997. Dr. Miller and her staff are extremely knowledgeable and truly care about each and every animal. I highly recommend BVH!
I've been going to this Veterinary Clinic for three years since I had a really bad experience with my previous back. They have always been extremely transparent and taking great care of all of my animals.
Love them. Always a great experience. They are so friendly and loving to my dog. You would think each animal is one of their own. It is great to get the reception and care they provide.
