I have been going to the Bel Air Vets since 1998. I have boarded all my animals and have had all their medicals needs taken care of. The staff has always been caring and helpful and I love the vets especially Dr. Brooks. When I had to put my dog down, he showed me so much compassion and kindness. Love all you guys

Great place to take your pet for checkup, shots and any other problems. The front staff is very pleasant and friendly. My gripe is when you call to schedule an appt you are immediately put on hold without a chance to explain one second why you are calling. They also ask can you hold a moment which can be minutes up to 10 minutes plus or longer. You call back several hours again and get the same routine. It may be time for me to find another Vet that will take the time to check with you quickly what you are calling for.

I absolutely ADORE this veterinary practice. ALL of the vets are amazing and truly love animals. The techs and front office staff treat us like family. My dogs always have a positive experience, and I'm always given great advice. David and John are my favorite veterinarians. They light up when they see my animals. I couldn't ask for better.

Live near here and the dogs are rarely quiet. There are wild animals (deer, foxes, rabbits) that antagonize the boarded dogs here so they just bark and bark. Plus it has a crematory on site - your dog can smell that. So while you are on vacation - your dog is smelling the crematorium.

I have been boarding my dog their for the last year. They always have space and take good care of my pit/lab mix. AND they are reasonable priced. The staff is always friendly and professional. I prefer them over Banfield any day .

The doctors are great, but the receptionists are rude and condescending. We took out cat to an emergency vet in town for treatment for an injury. After a number of tests and being boarded overnight, the doctor there recommended we take our cat her regular vet for a few more tests since "they would cost less and did not warrant completion at the emergency facility," (the doctor said this) nor did our cat need to be kept for observation any longer. When we called to make an appointment and explained the situation (as well as the emergency vet's suggestion), the receptionist insulted us and asked why we would "endanger our pet" to save a few dollars, and said that it sounded like we shouldn't have a cat at all. Absolutely will not return to this office again. With any pet, for any reason. There are many other offices in the area that provide better service, with equally knowledgeable doctors.

I have taken all of my pets here for almost 20 years, dogs, cats, rabbits and hamsters. During which time I have been a very responsible pet owner. I have even put up with being put on hold EVERY single time I call for an appointment. But today when ordering heartworm meds for my two dogs who have not only had heartworm tests, but are given heartworm meds the first of every month, I was told they were going to have to call the place I get my meds from (1800petmeds) to make sure I've really been giving the meds to them. REALLY! They did not believe ME! Incredibly insulting! While I know they have rules and regs to follow, if a responsible pet owner, someone whose animals you've seen for almost 20 years tells you she's been giving them heartworm meds, believe her! The last time I took my dogs to the vet, my sheltie was seem by a woman with dreads, black lip stick and multiple facial piercings, who had no idea how to draw up vaccines. I watched the 20 year old vet tech walk her thru the process, yet I am paying for a VETERINARIAN to do these things. I have nothing against dreads or piercing, but I am paying for some professionalism! Then to top it off, she told me that my dog needed to have a quarter size chunk surgically removed off of her stomach for a scab that fell off two days later! I will NEVER take another animal of mine back to that place! All they want is your money!

Doctors are very nice so is the staff. They take care in making your pets happy. Wish I could show a picture but my little guy got into a fight and had bandages and the girl who did it cut a heart into one side and on the other side is a huge paw print. A place that takes the time to design bandages will always have high marks in my book

Dr. Brooks is the BEST! Treats our dogs like they are his own kids. Explains everything very through.

*I had to put a star to post but if I had to pick I would have put zero* Took my two dogs to get their nails cut today 5/17/2018. I have a little wiener dog and a pit. My wiener dog every time he goes to the vet he screams and yells because of his excitement. I think in his chart it’s listed as him being a screamer or yelper or something to that meaning. Well he started yelling and crying and yes it gets loud so they stuck us in a room that was hot, no a/c and smelled of nasty dog. The lady said they need to hear phone so I agreed and said this was never done to us before. Sitting in there for over 10 minutes I go out and tell the one girl at the desk (not on phone) that I will be outside. You could tell that the lady was wanting to be as rude as possible but dialed it down to a point where it was only moderately rude. Their website says they treat pets as if it was their own. My pets nor myself was treated at that standard. Also coming to the door she asked me to settle up and made a comment wow it’s hot out here and I wish I would’ve said something like “ It’s nothing compared to the room you stuck me and my dogs in”. Also there was a lady looking for a new vet and she saw and heard how we were treated and was disgusted. She will surely not be going there. Also there is two veterierans that stereotype my pit. This place will never be the same like when Dr. Cook was there. We probably would have been treated better if our bill was 300-400 dollars like usual.

We stopped taking our dog here for several reasons about a year ago: 1) When me or my partner would bring our dog here the main afterhours DVM would *always* make a backhanded comments about our care of the dog and his weight, that is *NEVER* appreciated in a customer service role regardless of what your profession is or what you've studied. I am paying you for a service not for you to judge me. If you have a professional opinion to dispense it does not need to come with a scoff and/or a sneer. 2) The vet tech showed us more compassion and care than the main afterhours DVM has EVER shown in a 5 minute diabetes meeting. 3) When our dog was diagnosed with diabetes at this vet instead of explaining the condition and treatment path thoroughly we were doing everything step by step. We had few questions during this initial meeting but the afterhours DVM did not have much time for us an was quickly gone from the initial meeting and the vet tech had attempted to help us out as best as possible but they were awkward at best. As we are not medical professionals this typically would be appreciated, but when we attempted to do our first glucose curve here we weren't told any of the specifics which made it very difficult to get into the swing of diabetes control and this happened several times where we didn't take the appropriate step before the glucose curve but we weren't told about it until we were at the vet trying to drop him off. As well despite all of this difficulty it was NEVER mentioned that we could do an at home glucose curve (which would save a lot of time money and saved a lot of effort) After switching to a new vet it took almost half a year to transfer the file of our pet to our new vet (With multiple requests from the pet owners and the new veterinary clinic, I realize that a true professional DVM can explain to me all of the steps that I need to understand about diabetes control AND be friendly.

I am dismayed to hear that my wife just returned from Bel Air Vet this morning after taking our dog for treatment. The desk staff turned away a dog that was hemorrhaging instead of at least having a veterinarian access/triage the dog. I have been going here since I was a child in 1977, and remained fairly loyal to Dr. Cook. However, it is quite obvious this is a business, and not a "care" facility any longer. I would not have bothered writing a review about our substandard treatment this morning, but to not show empathy towards a dog in serious need has me reassessing if I will be bringing our animals there in the future.

I have been going here for over19 years. The staff have always been considerate, compassionate, and efficient. I have had cats with complicated medical issues managed effectively and safely. Would highly recommend.

I have two rescue pups (10 & 13 year olds mind you haha) - one being a silly, yet loving chow chow/spaniel mix, and one being a special needs shar pei/pit mix. I was recommended Bel Air Vet actually by another veterinarian clinic, mainly to help accommodate my special needs pit mix during boarding. Since then I've taken both my boys there and have trusted their practice with all concerns (being a concerned mommy, many). They've always welcomed me and my "special needs" boys, without any hesitation or harsh judgment (those with special needs pit mixes will understand). From the loving front desk, to the caring techs, to the wonderful docs, I absolutely love this practice. When you fur babies are family, you take them here - they really are a caring staff. We board them, also, during family trips, and they honestly pay personal attention to them - even giving me a run down on their behavior, when I return to pick them up. Going away and not totally worrying about your pups is a big plus in my book. Great practice (and this is coming from a person who has vet teched).

I love Bel Air Vet - since the first time I came there (which was to use their crematory for a beloved cat) they have been caring, helpful and honest. Sometimes the wait is a bit long - but then I remember they are giving some one the time and care that I truly appreciate - we always board our dogs there - I don't trust anywhere else with them.
