This Veterinarian corresponds to the category of Veterinarian.
Friendly staff, the vet wasn't pushy or suggesting unnecessary medication. The place was clean and organized. The only problem is leaving the parking lot certain times of day it gets crazy busy.
The way he talks to his employees and treats them is sad but what else do you expect from him and trust me your not the only vet hiring people the way I seen him talk to several of his employees and treat them I’m surprised they all haven’t quit
First, I'm not sure why my grand daughters video username is in this but it is and I can't change it. I changed veterinarians from a place I won't mention to Alexander after being referred by a friend of a friend. It is obvious this clinic likes dogs ( the place I left did not). One of my dogs passed and not knowing what to do I called Alexander's and immediately the person who took my call explained everything compassionately . I dropped her off...more compassion...i returned to pick up her remains... more compassion. I am very thankful that I take my dogs to this clinic, they have truly proved they are the right people tho take care of my dogs. I didn't see the Dr. like other rafting said but I don't see that is a problem. His staff is perfectly competent representing him.
I love doctor Alexander and the way he is with all pets is a great doctor would recommend him to everyone
Dr. Alexander is an exceptional vet. He help me so much with my rescue cats. I don't know how I would have been able to afford to have them treated and attended to without his help.
He always takes the best care of my babies and he took care of my previous family dogs I wouldn't take my cat or dog anywhere else.
Dr. Alexander really takes great care of our pets. He is knowledgeable, caring and personable.
Started going to Dr. Alexander about 2 years ago when we moved here and needed a closer vet. My dog is very scared and anxious at the vet and his staff are super great and accommodating with her. I have nothing but good things to say about him and his practice. He clearly loves animals and is super kind to animals and humans alike. He thoroughly explains his diagnoses and the reasoning for his treatment plans. His prices are reasonable, cheaper than our old vet actually. Dr. Alexander has helped keep our 13 year old dog in good health and we'll continue to take her there hopefully for years to come.
Doctor A and his staff are capable and he has a warm bedside manner, but we were disappointed in Dr. Alexander's medical approach with our two elderly cats.
I made a very inflammatory post earlier this week about Dr. Alexander. I rushed to judgment because of my initial interaction with his support staff. Doc did call me back on a private number, which I did not answer. He took the time to come by my home and remedy the situation. Unfortunately, I was at work at the time. However, he left a letter and a voice mail. Dr.Alexander went above and beyond to mitigate the situation and I sincerely appreciate his efforts. Again, my apologies for any undue stress that I may have caused. Best of luck.
Always nice staff, vets are great, prices are reasonable.
Dr. Alexander is the best. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
Dr Alexander is one of the nicest and most compassionate people I have ever met. He always goes the extra mile to help my pets get the care they need to stay happy and healthy. I can not recommend anyone better.
Dr. Alexander has a wonderful vet. He took care of my Barney and now he is taking care of my Tank. He really cares about his animals ( patient's ) Don't take my word for it , see for yourself and bring your pet to him
My dog is almost 16, I needed a prednisone prescription refilled because if he doesn't get it he itches, licks, forms a yeast infection and then he is miserable . I called in for a refill and said they wouldnt do it until they saw him to get hi annual checkup, he is my baby and 16 YEARS OLD and dont want to put him in car but they refused to refill and then said they couldnt get us in today or till JULY 8TH! LOL... Yeah thanks! Really appreciate! Could have said we will give you enough to get by or something... Needless to say I just found a new Vet! Thanks Dr. Alexander. You were truly awesome to deal with, the girls at front desk who I spoke to numerous times were of no help.
Dr. Alexander takes the time to explain exactly what is going on with your pet. He talks through all reasonable options for care. He keeps cost in mind when making recommendations for care or procedures. He or his staff actually return calls!! Very professional and compassionate!
I love Dr. A! He sees both my golden and my mom's animals and they can't wait to bust through the door to see him and his staff! Everyone is very kind and patient. He's a no nonsense vet and won't just tell you have things done to your pet to charge more. When my dog wasn't feeling well he was very conservative until he realized that he needed emergency surgery. He helped get him to the car, stayed later, and called every few days to check in! He's very easy to get a hold of and his office hours are great!
Dr. Alexander is by far the best vet I'v ever been too, he takes the time to go over everything with you and you Never feel rushed, and is Very affordable. I really couldn't ask for more! :)
Who doesn’t love Dr.Alexander’s animal hospital. All the staff is friendly and helpful. If they can get medication somewhere cheaper they’ll let you know. They have cheaper flea and heartworm medication than 1-800 pet med. Alexander is good with all personalities including aggressive dogs.
The best veterinarian we have ever experienced. All four dogs and two cats are in the best hands with Dr. Alexander and his staff. We left our previous vet after 18 years and never looked back. Kudos to Alexander Animal Hospital!
Awesome place to take your pets. Everyone is super friendly and they separate dogs and cats to avoid conflict. They also sell diet food for both cats and dogs and the 24 hour emergency service gives you peace of mind.
Absolutely the best vet practice around! My daughter found them first and referred me and I am so grateful! The practice is clean, friendly and affordable! Dr Kip was amazing and I feel very comfortable putting my cats health in their hands! The techs were terrific! 100% recommend this vet practice!!!
Called in the late afternoon / early evening on 1-31-2018 to get my cat unblocked, already having a diagnosis from another vet who did not have the facilities to unblock him (though I did have X-Rays and full medical history), and Dr. Alexander gave me a quote of $1200-$1500 for the procedure including one overnight stay, which had to be paid upfront. I ended up going with an actual overnight emergency vet that was there monitoring and actively treating the cat overnight and then a different vet for the rest of his stay, which was altogether about 56 hours, including new food for diagnosed special dietary needs. Altogether the costs were actually a bit lower than quoted by Dr. Alexander and my cat got his treatment overnight and an extended stay he needed as the diagnosis proved to be complicated. I can only hope Dr. Alexander was just making up a number because he really didn't want to treat the emergency and that his rates aren't really that high all the time. I understand this was an emergency and therefore rates must be higher but I feel like I was just brushed off with these high rates rather than given some sympathy as a panicked owner of a critically ill pet.
My dog suffered from repeated UTIs for over a year, She saw all 3 vets at Alexander, they are all very kind and professional however after a year of UTIs and spending over 1K in urine tests, cultures and repeated expensive Antibiotics I was at my very end financially and of course getting increasingly frustrated. We will come back to the UTIs in a moment, when my dog had her last dental there her breath began smelling really bad again within a week. When I inquired about this I was told very dismissively to brush them daily. That and the continued UTIs had me wanting another opinion, I thought maybe fresh eyes on the issue may help. I went to a new Vet for a new opinion on these recurring UTIs. In Our 1st appt at the NEW vet I knew I had made the right decision. It was over 90 min long and to help diagnose what was causing the UTIs we needed my dogs records I was charged $25 by Alexander AH to fax them then it still required another phone call from the new vet office as they sent incomplete records and no test results. At the new vet Immediately her teeth were suspected as the culprit as they were in horrible condition, All of Her xrays were gone through with me 1 tooth at a time was described to me and explained how ALL 17 teeth needed to be removed and the remaining 11 cleaned thoroughly. Some were so bad that the roots were exposed and that was also shown to me insideof my dogs mouth, I was horrified and in tears for my girl. How this was ignored and dismissed by Alexander animal hospital I have no idea.. It was suspected that her immune system was being suppressed by the condition of Teeth in addition to her white blood count pointed to this as the probable reason for her recurring Enterococcus UTI so 1 coarse of antibiotics were given then the surgery was done to remove all 17 of the decaying teeth. I am happy to say that since we had that surgery done in late October of 2018 my dog has had NO further UTIs!! She's also happily eating the crunchy prescription Royal Canin SO food to help prevent other types of UTIs from popping up (I inquired multiple times about a special diet/food to help prevent UTIs and was told each time at Alexander AH that there was NO food to help prevent UTIs). I want to say so there are no misunderstandings that We liked Dr. Alexander very much and found him to be very kind to our pets and to us. His staff is also very kind and professional outside of the manager (who yells clients private financial info across the lobby). I simply felt I was constantly handing over my credit card and being repeatedly charged for the same treatments over and over with no explanation or plan to fix the problems. I finally had a moment to write this review in full. I don't want anyone else's dog to go through over a year of completely unnecessary UTI's. Although there are lots of other medical reasons for a repeated UTI, Sometimes repeated enterococcus UTIs are a symptom of a much larger problem. Like with our dog, her insufficiently cleaned and then dismissed rotting teeth were suppressing the immune system and allowing that Enterococcus bacteria to take over in the bladder over and over again. This was suspected in just 1 attentive office exam/visit and 1 blood test by our new vet. If You just need a place to get vaccinations and general veterinary care done, buy heartworm, flea meds etc then Alexander AH is just fine but For trusting a more intricate close look at your pets continued health or health issues I would personally recommend from my experience going to another Veterinarian.
Always kind, knows plenty about pugs and always gives great advice/guidance. Highly recommend!
Dr. Alexander is the best bet. Kind, caring and compassionate. Would not take my dogs to anyone else. Great customer service!
By far the best veterinarian we have EVER visited. Dr. Alexander genuinely cares about animals, is extremely knowledgeable, honest, and has a very calming presence for both the pet and owner. Also they've got a very clean office, great staff, no waiting, and very reasonable prices. Highly recommend him!
Phenomenal. Very professional and knowledgeable!
Dr. Alexander is a amazing Vet. I have three dogs and they all love him. I had a emergency occur with one of our dogs on a Saturday after hospital hours. Dr. A. returned my call and met me at his animal hospital within 30 min. Our Nera had a fairly bad bladder infection. Dr. A. examined Nera and prescribed antibiotics which Nera started right away. The Animal Hospital is very spacious and very clean. Dr. Alexander's hospital is current in technology, has a digital x-ray machine and a in-house lab for quicker results. For the convenience of the pets and their humans, when you walk in, the dogs waiting area is to the left and the cats area is to the right which is great! It's a relief to know our Vet is available after hours if a emergency happens. Dr. Alexander is the best!!!
must reiterate my LOVE to the Alexander family of doctors. Dr. Liz at Southgate and Dr. Kip at Alexander animal hospital. Even Dr. Eric helped TNR for RRR when I teamed up with SNARE Kimberly Ann Nutile. Good times fixing those cats. I never fear a questionable treatment or prognosis with these fine vets. You helped my rescues through leg, tail, and eye removals. A kitten born with a cleft palate thanks Dr. Liz. It's never easy making decisions to enable the most good for life. I greatly thank these professionals with ENORMOUS HEARTS for life. Being in charge of life and death decisions is only durable with trustful veterinary advice. That's all that is of comfort in times like these.
Had a really great experience with our two dogs for their annual checkup and shots. Our previous vet had to muzzle both of our dogs (which is why we left them) but Dr. Alexander spent the extra time to make our dogs feel comfortable and was able to get their exams done without any added stress or muzzles. The cost was more affordable too! Highly recommend this office!
Doctor Alexander actually cares about the animals whom he treats. His staff is friendly and efficient. Appointments are required, but you can usually get them for the next day. Of course emergencies are the exception, however I recommend calling first. Compared to other veterinarians in the area, Doctor Alexander's services are reasonably priced.
Dr. Alexander was recommended to us from a neighbor since we are new to the area. Very happy with how quickly we were able to make an appointment (since our dog had an ear infection). We were also able to order a years worth of heart guard while we were there. The heart guard there was cheaper than what I had previously paid online. Dr. Alexander thoroughly explained the differences in the different kinds of the heart guard, and did not recommend the most expensive, but the most effective for our dog (which I appreciate!). Our dog also got updated on all of her shots while there. We were in and out within 30 minutes and Dr. Alexander took time to make sure our pet was comfortable with him first as well. The vet visit was also very reasonable in price considering everything we got done to ensure our dog's health. Thanks! We will be back!
Friendly and helpful.
Staff is friendly and my fur babies are always well taken care of
Awesome Vet & staff, would NOT use anyone else & I have used 3 different ones before I found him
Love Dr. Alexander and staff. They are so nice. Dr. Alexander seems very compassionate and breaks things down for those of us who do not understand the vet lingo. Did not feel like I was being pressured for any additional tests for my cat. I know personally how some vets can test for anything and everything and say it's for the "well being" of the animal when in reality it's not. He made suggestions of what they could do but stated that he believed were not needed. And I wasn't price shocked when I left there. He stated prices up front on what we were doing which was nice. I will definitely be a forever client .
Dr. Alexander is an amazing Veterinarian!
Great care. Great pricing. Very nice people. Dr Alexander and his staff are totally awesome sauce.
Wonderful and caring doctor. When our senior husky began acting lethargic and panting a lot Dr. Alexander performed a chest x ray when he heard her heart beating faster than it should, even for a dog stressed at the vet. It showed her chest cavity was filled with fluid and she had what looked like cancerous nodules. Right away he drained what fluid he could to help her breath easier and looked at the cells under a microscope. We got the devisating news that she had lung cancer. I wasn't much longer until we knew it was time. Dr. Alexander came in after hours on a Saturday when we called to put her suffering to end. We just couldn't bear to wait until Monday and he didn't hesitate to accommodate us. We got to take our time to say goodbye to our girl in the quiet office and he and his staff were truely wonderful throughout our difficult time
Dr. Alexander was very kind and extremely thorough when he saw my new puppy. His hours are excellent, and his fees are really reasonable. I look forward to going back for our next check-up!
Dr. A and the staff at Alexander Animal Hospital are The Best! Always friendly and willing to take the time to discuss anything. Great pet care and you can tell they all love the animals as well as the job they do!
My experience with this veterinary hospital is mixed. I believe Dr. Alexander is an excellent veterinarian, however I have been very disappointed with his Dr./client relationship and customer relations policy or lack thereof. I took my cat in to have a surgical procedure after making a phone appointment. Since I used Dr. Alexander's services before I was not upset to just drop my cat off without a personal discussion about the procedure etc . However, I never received a phone call, even late into the afternoon, about his post surgery condition. I called to find out how he was. the receptionist checked and said he was ok. Not satisfactory, in my opinion. I visited the next day and dropped off his food but still never saw or spoke with the Dr. or a tech. I never received a follow up call the second day as to his progress and condition.. The third day I was to pick him up, and I got a call just as I was parking at closing time. I again never heard or saw the Dr. As I was paying for the surgery I happened to see him as he left a patient and spoke to him. He didnt ask about who my pet was or discuss my cat or any personal interaction of any kind. I mentioned some memorable things about my cat when he almost died and the Dr. seemed to remember. Not sure he did but nontheless, I am very disappointed at the lack of interest and energy to interact interpersonally. At least to show Some Interest! Needs to improve his "bedside manner" and the procedural policies for sure to build his practice. He needs to know his clients and develop a professional/ personal relationship. Also, we ALL want to hear from you about our beloved's pet's condition etc. apres surgery and continuing.
Enjoyable experience today with the vet. I was in and out in like 30 minutes. He took my dog in the back area, cleaned up his paw (some kind of infection), and trimmed his nails. He gave me some medicine and I was on my way. Will continue to use his services in the future. Prices are more than fair FYI.
