I've taken all my dogs to this clinic, they are good for emergencies, general care, and were able to refer me to a good specialist when needed. While I don't enjoy going to the vet, because it usually means a dog is hurt or sick, they are top notch and very compassionate, responsive, and reasonably priced. I also appreciate their honesty about the relative cost and effectiveness of different treatments, and can tell my vet truly has my dogs' best interests at heart. Being a vet is a really difficult job, and I truly appreciate their professionalism and compassion.

Obviously caring and attentive staff. They have an APHIS vet if you need to take your pet internationally. They tend to get behind on appointments leading to waiting in the waiting room. It's big though so animals can be kept apart.

I would give them negative stars if I could. My service dog was stolen by the dog sitter and I informed the Fryeburg Veterinary Hospital. Not only did they not do anything to help me, the man continued to bring my dog to the vet and they continued treating her without my consent. Even though I am listed as the dog’s owner they did not get my consent or signatures for the procedures or surgeries. I was not even made aware of them. They falsely reported that they had my signatures but when I had them actually show them to be it was a mans name and not my signature. All of this happened after they were informed she was stolen. It is illegal to perform procedures on an animal without the owners consent. They also continued to deal with him and change the name on her microchip to his name. It is a misdemeanor to knowingly separate a service animal from their handler and it is against the American Veterinary Association agreement to perform procedures and surgeries without owners consent, which can be punishable. Yes I went to the police and they told me that yes I have proof that she is legally mine, she was illegally stolen, and the Vet’s actions were also illegal. I just want to inform others about their actions. Learn your rights on owner consent!

I vacation in the Fryeberg area regularly. Whenever I go up there, I bring my cats. I have used them a few times, on an emergency basis, for my cat. They were excellent in understanding his needs, as well as mine. They made emergency appointments to see him. They were compassionate and understanding. I would take my "kids" there any time.

I had an awesome experience here, if I lived closer they would be me go-to vet! I had a bit of a panic one Friday because my cat had been vomiting and lathergic for over a day. I went to the Animal Emergency in Portland and they x-rayed my cat and told me she may need surgery, but due to cost I had to look else where. I called over 50 vets in the southern Maine area and Fryeburg vet was the only one who said they could get her in for an after hours surgery. When I got there the staff was friendly and the vet was extremely attentive and kind. They were able to avoid surgery and get my kitty on the road to health. Just awesome!

Care is decent, but each visit is a non-stop, 15 to 20-minutes sales pitch for the products they sell in the lobby. Please focus on my dog's health, not your bottom line from selling your customers everything under the sun. We moved to the North Country Animal Hospital about a year ago to get away from the sales pitches. So far, we're very happy there--and we've not received a single sales pitch!
