Great clinic, but like all others in Oxford WAY over priced. I guess they're charging what the market will bear, but I've found prices in Pontotoc and Batesville about 30% cheaper.

No complaints. They cremated my mother's dog. The visitor room was slightly dirty, but then again that room is an afterthought.

We love Crossroads! Right after we got our sweet Knox, he came down with a case of Giardia. Dr. McQueen worked hard to find answer and was very reassuring that everything would be just fine! Highly recommend!

Jonathan Brown

Love the folks that work here. They take all the time you need to get your questions answered but somehow you never have to wait long to be seen. They make you feel like they are as invested in your fur baby's well being as you are.

Mistie Davis

Crossroads was excellent! They were a friends service provider for her pup Sandman and came highly recommended. They held true to the recommendation. They boarded my pup for five days and on short notice. Willow was well taken care of by the staff and even got to participate in doggie day care. Not to mention they are the only vet I've ever known of that provid a phone app to keep up with my pet and her health. I couldn't be happier and will be switching my other two pets to Crossroads as well.

I had been taking my cat there since I moved to Londonderry in 2009. I would recommend Dr. Wyett or Dr. Grove. They are both professional and really care about the animals and their pet parents. Sadly my cat had advanced kidney disease and at 17 years old crossed the rainbow bridge in their office. Dr. Grove couldn't have been more compassionate. My cat passed peacefully in my arms, first falling asleep with a sedative. She made a very tough day bearable. After almost a year, I got a new rescue cat and I will be taking him to Dr. Grove or Wyatt at Crossroads.

Dan Guerin

Excellent staff and our pet has always received excellent treatment here.

I never walked in the door, the front desk staff was so incredibly unhelpful and rude. I felt like an inconvenience just by calling and asking for a new puppy appt. which she wouldn't accommodate for 2.5 weeks. Bummer because I was recommended to bring our pup here.

They are GREAT with boarding animals. When I came to pick them up from Crossroads, my dog was wagging his tail, wearing a cute little bandana, and my cat was in a good enough mood to glare at me at this inconvenience. I used to see a different vet, and boarded with them. They came back shaking. That’s when I went to Crossroads, and had this great experience. I switched vets and never looked back.

Be sure to call ahead for any of your prescriptions a couple of days. You will have a bit of a wait to check-in pick up prescriptions and to check out. It's worth it it's a very professional place that takes care of your animal and helps you learn how to take care of your animal at home as well which saves you money. They're not out for your money.

awful. my best friend's french bulldog is the sickest it's ever been after being held here. when taken back to see what was wrong, they did not admit to any faults and still made her pay for the kenneling, the follow-up appointment, and the medicine. the worst kenneling experience and will NEVER go back.

***Beware of Over-Vaccinating Your Pet *** I brought in my healthy dog in for (3) vaccinations to get up to date. They literally tried to up-sell me on (9) different products and (2) additional vaccinations that were completely unnecessary. I'm Leary of practices such as this and over- vaccinating. I refused. They then insisted upon having me sign waivers as if I was accepting liability for declining their sales effort. There's a point you cross when the ambition to drive revenue not only creates a bad customer experience but endangers the health of someone's pet . They've crossed that line and I'll find another vet.

I have been coming to this vet since 2000. I used to think they were ok (the techs and vets are nice, the check in people are rude and uninterested), but over the years my opinion has shifted. Our Newfoundland is 13 1/2. She no longer is being groomed professionally because she can't stand long and getting her in the car is extremely difficult. I made an appointment for her to get her rabies shot and her nails clipped and made it known we do not need physical for her. We know she is very old and on borrowed time as it is. They day before they called me to bring a stool sample for her physical. I called and they told me they will not see her without a full physical. So I canceled the visit and will try to get her to a vaccine clinic at a retail outlet. Then the clerk told me that since I refuse the physical, they will not prescribe her rimadyl that she needs for her arthritis. Basically holding her prescription hostage unless I fork over the $200+ for a physical so they can tell me she is old. She is in pain when she does not get her arthritis meds but apparently the money they will get for a physical is more important to Crossroads then keeping a dog (that was a patient for 13 years!) comfortable. Thanks for showing your true colors, I am looking for another vet for my 2 dogs and cat.

If there's ever an urgent matter they always work to get your pet seen right away. They also follow up with phone calls to see how your pets are doing, which is nice.

Richard Cole

The doctors and tech's very pleasant, large check-in/waiting area. Checking out waiting time most times take awhile 10-15 minutes, they installed these plugins for animals with stress but most times they are empty. All minor negative issues very happy over all.

This past week, our cat had begun to spit up blood. We had rushed into our car and drove to the Crossroads animal hospital. It was 530pm. We called them on our way asking if they were open, and if they could help us out. They replied with: "How close are you?" US: "100 feet away (panicked breath) Them: Sorry we're closing, you can go to Manchester.... Sadly our cat passed away while driving to the ER, it might not have helped to go there, but the fact that they still were open for business for 30 minutes and declined us when we were 100 feet away, I thought was absolutely deplorable. They could AT LEAST given him a shot to euthanize him to give him a peaceful death. I'm just glad they don't deal with people, because in that case everyone in the town would probably be dead.

Renai F

Joan Franklin

They are kind, compassionate and caring and not just towards you or the pet but your whole family.

Brandi Corbin

Very friendly staff. I underestimated the age of a pair of stray kittens i took in until the girl went into heat. Neuter and spay became top priority and they were happy to schedule it and necessary shots quickly. Fair price, I paid exactly what they quoted without trying to add in services I did not want let alone have to pay for. Another vet clinic I called wouldn't give a difinitive cost and wanted to schedule a new patient check up before scheduling the neuter. Like, I'm trying to avoid a Jaime and Cersei Lannister situation here!!

Kathleen Smith

Ava and I love Crossroads! They are so attentive and they make us feel so special. They send me picture of Ava at doggie daycare and update some on how she’s doing! They are so sweet and the staff is AMAZING!

Always a pleasure working with the Drs and staff. They are very polite and caring. The Drs know exactly how to treat my animals and make them well again. I would highly recommend them to people looking for a vet to bring their prescious animals!

My experience was with Dr. McQueen. My 75lb+ pup had both a gastro pexy and spay operation. Before the surgery, Dr. McQueen did a consultation with me about the procedure, precautions, and the cost. He was very upfront about everything and answered my questions in layman's term, which I appreciated! After the surgery, he went over the care procedures, precautions, etc. The actual cost of the surgery was within the range of the original estimate I received prior (I've had another vet tell me one price for my other baby but somehow it ended up being 3 hundred dollars more..) Lastly, a testament to Dr. McQueen's awesome skills: my baby's incision line was clean, symmetrical (no staples) and showed little redness, puffiness, and bruising. The day after surgery, my baby girl was all perked up and her rambunctious self again (I actually had to get some calming meds b/c she still needs to be inactive for a couple more days). It's great to see her healthy and happy even after two simultaneous and invasive surgeries. Thank you, Dr. McQueen and his wonderful staff!

I agree with the overmedicating. I wish they knew more about the herding breeds and the collie. Their brains cannot handle it. i have records on file about her mutant/mutant genes. she needed shots BUT not all at once. she went lethargic and it was unnecessary if they paid attention to detail and breed medication rules.

Debbie Crecco

We have been going here for years with our dogs.we get great care for our doggies here & the staff is very professional & caring.

Where do I begin? I can't say enough good things about Dr. Hanson. I've known her since childhood. Through elementary, middle and high school, I knew she was a kind and caring person. She has always been very knowledgeable and studious. When I heard she was graduating with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, I was not surprised. It suited her well and I expected only the best in her future. Whenever I call and ask Dr. Hanson for advice on my two dogs, she is very thorough with instructions and what I can do to make my dogs feel better. I have been discussing a sensitive tummy issue with her for several months now and every time I come to her with additional symptoms or changes, she not only has all of the answers, but she has facts, studies and new research to discuss with me. She never stops learning! Dr. Hanson and her husband purchased the Crossroads Animal Hospital in Oxford, too. She is kind, dedicated, smart, helpful, compassionate towards animals (and people), professional and she explains everything, so you don't walk out of there even more confused. She is everything you would want in a vet.

Karl Hanson

By far the best place to take your pet in Oxford. Totally about quality care and medicine.

They did surgery on our dog she was in septic shock she was pregnant and could not have the puppies so we took her there there were 3 puppies all dead the vet got them out and fixed her. Yes there is a bill owed they told is to do scratch pay so we could pay it off but it didn't work. We got the run around with these people I understand the bill but the vet doctor the man put the staples in her and refuses to take them.out it's been 3 months they are still there we were told by a worker there if he put them in he has to take them out they are imbedded in her skin and tgey will not take them out we were told go to another vet and have them removed but this vet put them in he should by what they said have to take them.out but refuses to I rate this animal hospital a 000000000 I understand the bill but you can't take staples that you put in out and they are imbedded he begged us to put her down we refused by far the worst animal hospital I have been to will never go back and if your smart take your animal somewhere else they ate clearly in it for money not the help of a animal.....

Covington, LA - My wife and I have been rescuing pit bulls for about 13 years. We tried several different veterinarians over the years. We finally settled on Northlake Veterinary Hospital a few years ago. We were very pleased with the care given to our 10 dogs. A year or so ago, Dr. McQueen began working at the hospital and began taking care of our dogs. He was absolutely the best veterinarian that we had ever had. My wife and I were sad when he left to take over the ownership at Crossroads Animal Hospital in Oxford, MS. We know that our pets will still be well taken care of at Northlake, but Dr. McQueen took a personal interest in all of our dogs. A couple of our dogs had some recent illnesses and Dr. McQueen went the extra mile to determine exactly what was wrong with our pets and he made suggestions that were clearly best for the pets. Keep in mind, if you want your pet properly taken care of, you need to go to a Veterinarian who clearly loves animals and you need to be happy to pay for it. If you don't want to pay for quality care, then don't waste their time. You also need to follow their instructions. If you do the things Dr. McQueen and his staff direct you to do, your pets will be healthy and happy. Losing Dr. McQueen was tough on us. We congratulate Oxford, MS and the Crossroads family for your gain. You will love him.

This is absolutely the BEST office around. Dr. Hertel is so knowledgeable and kind, he goes out of his way on days off, and after hours calls us to check in on our dogs when they were sick. They will squeeze you in when they are full to avoid you having to go to urgent care, overall this is absolutely the best vet hands down.

Edit: Again, Dr. McQueen to the rescue. He called me not even 20 minutes after posting the review he called and we talked about the event. Long story short on an already long review it was miscommunication between the tech and me. She shouldn't have stated the charge would happen with the annuals. I was satisfied after talking to him, but even then he offered annuals at a discount. To be clear, he wasnt trying to bribe for a better review. I could tell he genuinely cared and wanted to keep me and my pet. I'll definitely be back now discount or not! In my experience, it's rare for the vet himself to call about reviews. I was truly expecting no reply or a comment back to it that was saying they were sorry to lose me. Completely surprised me for the better! Review is long because it is complicated. First I worked for a vet clinic for 4 years back home. I know what to look for in a good vet: good customer service, clean office, and responsive service. That is what makes this review hard: they excel at all of these. Dr. McQueen is absolutely amazing. Love him to death and his staff are also very good. The office is beautiful and always smells great. However, pricing is what hurts this place. Annuals and stuff are good priced, but they don't call you before hand and tell you the cost before they do it. They just expect you to pay it. I brought my dog Macie for a UTI. I knew it was what she had and I had an idea what it would cost with tests. They gave me a certain expensive medication but I knew that was warranted. I would have liked to be told about it but I ignored it. The biggest issue is the follow up visit: back home in Memphis not a single vet that I worked for or visited charged for the follow up visit with the exception of if the pet needed additional medication. I paid 250 up front for the first visit and then they called and said the visit would be 75 along with 150 for annuals which I did not ask for until I knew she was clean. Annuals aside, charging again for the test comes off as greedy. I'm taking her to get the follow up back at my home vet. Yes it'll cost more, but money isnt the issue. Don't get a pet if you can't pay for it. It's the principle of coming off as greedy. While I have no issue paying, there will be people who refuse to get it done because they can't afford that part. It's an unnecessary charge and in the end it hurts the pet which should be what they should be in business for. While it's a pain to travel an hour to get it done and I liked crossroad for the convenience, I just feel cheated a little. The test they were going to charge for the retest isn't even discounted: it was the same price as I originally paid. That's an even bigger slap in the face. Again, it sucks because they do so much right. If they can get the finances fixed, it would be a place I recommend.
