I love Tchefuncte Animal Hospital, and there is no other clinic I'd trust with my dog, Esca. When Esca ran out into the street and hit (yes, hit!) a van, Dr. Moores and his team accommodated me bringing him into the clinic ASAP and monitored him all day for me. Dr. Moores sent me text updates to keep me informed of Esca's recovery, and reassured me of his overall health. I always feel good about taking Esca in for his check-ups or to be groomed, the staff is so courteous and they do an amazing job. They genuinely care for him, and I know he's in great hands when he's there.

If I could give Tchefuncte 10 stars, I would. I came into their office in December with my dog, and from the moment we walked through the door the staff was compassionate and professional. They gave me the comfort I needed to leave my beloved baby girl in their care; when I came to get her that afternoon, she was well on her way to getting better, and by the end of the week she was good as new! Thanks to Dr. Laura Ferrara and her fantastic staff for taking such good care of her! Will never go anywhere else!

Dr. McConnell is great! She is very knowledgeable and thorough-not to mention so nice! She is absolutely the best vet. We have seen other vets to treat our dog’s limp and no one could figure out the cause of the problem until now. One appointment with Dr. McConnell and the mystery is solved! She not only found the cause of the problem, but also gave us great treatment options that we could start that day. I would recommend her to anyone.

I checked out several area veterinarians when preparing to move from the Southshore to Madisonville, as I was planning on boarding my pets pre-move. Not only was Tchefuncte Animal Hospital the closest to my new home, but it was also the facility that impressed me the most of all those I toured. There was no odor in the boarding area, which spoke volumes to me. The staff was friendly. All-in-all, top notch. I have been very pleased with them over the last six years, and their modern new facility is icing on the cake.

Dr. David Moores has cared for our outdoor cat, Smokey and our aging miniature dachshund, Mona. Mona has recently required surgery and I must say that Dr. Moores is extremely thorough. His counsel prior to, during and post surgery has been both informative and comforting. Mona did remarkably well. If you love your pet, you can be sure Tchefuncte Animal Hospital will do everything possible to give your pet a healthier, happier life. I recommend them highly.

Tchefuncte Animal Hospital provides professional care for our two dogs. The vets are always nice and thorough. They never rush through a visit and they genuinely care for our animals. They have appointments available on Sat - which is exceptionally convenient for two working parents. For certain procedures they even allow us to drop our dogs off before work (7:00 am) and pick up after work without charging extra. They are also aware of family budgets - offering several alternatives for monthly heart worm, flea and tick. They are always upfront about the costs - no surprises on your bill. We definitely recommend them!

When we brought our Maggie in last year to get a second opinion because we were told she had heart worms from the vet @ St Tammany Human Society we were treated with open arms, they made sure we understood all of test they were going to run, well good news she didn't have heartworms but to make us feel more comfortable they sent the bloodwork out to a lab and yes it came back negitive again. We just went back for a 6 month checkup and still negitive. We love Dr. Moores and his staff, they take all the time needed to explain they don't rush out he door. Dr's Moores and Ferrero and their staff are top notch. I worried about finding a new vet clinic when I moved from the Southshore 7 years ago because my vet there was fabulous so I commuted 2 years with my pups until I finally made the leap after much research. I could not have made a better choice! The pups have had a few health scares over the past years and we branched out into a brave new world with a kitten... the care they have all received has been first class - visits are never rushed, they know my pets, options and costs are clearly explained, and the costs are very reasonable. They go above and beyond in their care!

I love this vet! They are so nice and at my most recent visit they were especially great with my cat Satchmo. He can be very feisty and hiss, etc., and the doctor and his assistant were both awesome with him! They were gentle and patient and took their lead from Satchmo.
