We love Riverside Animal Hospital and the care that they provide for our fur babies!!! The front office staff is fantastic and very knowledgeable - they take such great care of our babies when we have to drop them off and leave them there longer than just an 'in and out appointment'. Dr. Ritter is great with all of our pets and always takes the time to talk with us and answer any questions we have. The atmosphere in the office is very welcoming and friendly and the ladies up front have always remembered us and our fur babies without missing a beat. Their office fur babies always come and greet us when we walk in too - just an added bonus of this animal hospital :) We have never had an issue and have always been very happy with everything and everyone that works there.

We recently had to board our sweet furbaby - a spoiled rotten 11 year old 3 lb. Yorkie and we were extremely anxious about leaving her anywhere. Dr. Ritter and the staff at Riverside were highly recommended to us and we were not disappointed in her care! She was happy and well fed while we were away which is a very big deal since she is a picky eater. And she was clean when she was picked up. The fact that she was at a facility that also provided veterinary care was an added bonus and we knew that if something happened while we were away she would be well-care for. I thought my dog Sierra Rose was acting old and slow because she is almost 11, but Dr Ritter found she had some abbess teeth, did a dental on her which included pulling 2 teeth, now she is acing like her old self, happy and lively. I am amazed at the difference in her now. We are both so happy with the results! Thanks Dr. Ritter! I have used RAH since about 1992. I've had dogs, cats & tortoises treated. All have received excellent care. Every one there is very friendly; always happy, except when I have had to put an animal down. Then they very caring, even sending a sympathy card; which I really appreciate. I give them an A+ I recently had my dog Oda May cut her leg really bad. Dr. Ritter saw her immediately and stitched her up immediately. I am very thankful for him and his crew. I recently boarded my 5 dogs with Riverside Animal Hospital.. They were well cared for and very clean when I picked them up. They were given their shots and medical attention when need. The price was very reasonable. They were given special attention by the staff. I will not hesitate to board them there again! I recently had to put my Chinese Crested girl down. She was born in a puppy mill, and inherited a lot of health problems associated with puppy mills.. She had cancer, pancreatic, skin, teeth, and bowel problems over the years. But despite all these problems Dr. Ritter was able to keep her alive and happy for nearly 15 years. He acted like she was his only patient, and I am very grateful to him,

We had an emergency due to a dog fight, and the wonderful staff worked to get my large German Shepard in right away. This was at 5 p.m. When we arrived, the got us back quickly. They kept our shepard overnight to make sure he got the care he needed since this all happened so late. I got a text from the clinic 2 hrs later (7p.m.) with a picture and an update on my boy, and a text the day after we brought him home to make sure there were no complications. The staff was amazing, thorough, kind, and so professional. And this was our very first contact with this clinic as we are new to the area. They are our permanent furbaby clinic. Thank you so much Ashley, Dr. Ritter, and all the wonderful staff at Riverside!

I have used Dr. Ritter for years and wouldn't trust my animals with anyone else. From the front desk staff to the groomers,you will not find a more friendly and knowledgeable group of people. I have a bird and 2 dogs and Dr. Ritter takes excellent care of them all. When I leave town, I board them there where I know they are safe and well taken care of.

We moved from the Bossier City area where Riverside is located, however, we continue to bring our dog to them because we are so pleased with the manner in which they have always taken care of Sonny. The are pleasant when you are there and Dr. Ritter is one of the best Veterinarians. We will drive an hour to Riverside because we are comfortable with their care of our dog. We can either call or email and we get a prompt professional answer. Wouldn't go anywhere else!!!

I've been going to Riverside Animal Hospital for about 3 1/2 years. My dog LUNA had a rash that was very itchy when she was a pup and Dr Ridder worked thru the problem and we got rid of the rash while keeping LUNA comfortable till it was solved. He also came in on a holiday Saturday morning when he was to be off that Saturday to treat LUNA for what we pretty much figured to be a scorpion bite on her tongue. They have always gone the extra mile for me. My last visit it was time for cleaning LUNA's teeth, she's 4 now and even tho she gets a tooth cleaning chew every morning after breakfast she needed her teeth cleaned so no doggie breath and her mouth will stay healthy. Dropped her off in the morning and picked her up on the way home. Her mouth just seemed a little sore till the next evening. She would eat chewy treats just didn't eat hard dog food for a 24 hour period afterwards. Her teeth are pearly white now and no doggie breath, she hasn't ever had it because I swear my dog gets better treatment than me.

I have never had any problem at Riverside. Dr. Ritter was a second opinion for my little dog who was on the verge of death, he called on a Sunday NIGHT saying he found out what was wrong. That was several years ago, and my furry family member is still doing fine with monthly shots. I will never go anywhere else, staff is always friendly and knowledgable.

Our dog Bear was neutered at Riverside and afterwards developed a lump on his back which became bigger in size. We took him back in to Dr. Ritter who examined it and told us it was probably a reaction to his injection from surgery. He aspirated it and no infection was present. We were told to watch the lump for increase in size or pain. We were not charged for the visit. A week later the lump had swollen, become hard and painful. We were able to make an appointment within a day. Dr. Ritter aspirated pus out of the wound and kept Bear for a few hours to sedate him and drain and clean the wound. We picked him up 3 hours later. We were not charged for the procedure. It was such a blessing when we were expecting a large vet bill. Wonderful and friendly staff, efficient, able to schedule us in quickly and took care of the problem as if it were their own animal.

I have had a great experience so far! I had some questions and had been unable to call so I emailed the practice. The first response I got was shockingly from the doctor! Loved it. Scheduled an appointment for my dogs in the future. Then one of my cats got sick and I called on a Monday morning and they got me in within the hour. Dr. Ritter was knowledgeable, patient and thorough. I'm looking forward to having him meet my girls next month and recommending friends to his practice!

Great service every time. As a new pet owner a Zeus we have seen the vet 3 times already. And every time the doctor is very knowledgeable and helpful. We even ran into some questions and the doctor consulted over the phone to save us the trip. He deals with all of our questions and really cares for the animals. I have been bringing my cats to Riverside since I moved here in 2008 and am beyond pleased with the treatment they have received from here. Be it my senior cat with kidney issues, my shy 2 yr old,or last year's 2 lb rescue from CPAS (who is now 14 lb), the entire staff take the greatest care of them and are always patient with my questions and concerns, even when I call. Additionally, the convenience of dropping them off before work and collecting them afterward is priceless and just one more reason I wouldn't consider going anywhere else.

We have always taken our pet Chihuahuas to RAH. They have always taken such good care of our "four legged kids". The staff has always been so friendly every time we had to leave the boys for a few days. Recently we lost Peppy, our thirteen year old Chihuahua, which was very upsetting. I am very protective of my two sweet angels (a chihauhau mix and beagle mix), so when it came time to find a new vet and hotel for them to stay at I did my research. I was impressed with the reviews online for Riverside Animal Hospital so I called for more information. The gentleman that answered the phone was very polite and reassuring that my babies would be taken care of. I left them at their hotel for a few nights and when I picked them up I could tell they had been well taken care of and spoiled! My babies were happy to see my but were more relaxed than as they have been when I have left them other places- letting me know that they were happy and had a good time! Dr. Ritter and staff are the best. They have been taking care of "my girls" for over 3 years and I trust them. Even when i call with what I call "silly" questions, they are always helpful, and no questions is too "silly" (am very protective of my little family). Dr. Ritter even took in a sick feral cat I found and took care of him for a week when I could find no one else willing to help a sick little, helpless feral cat! When I talked to him about finding a vet for my dog and our new kitten, Dr. Ritter was the first name that came out of his mouth. The staff are super nice and Dr. Ritter is quick but friendly. They have a very welcoming atmosphere with friendly cats roaming the area and greeting everyone. This pet clinic is a full-service animal hospital offering medical/surgical intervention, boarding, grooming and pet supplies. I sponsored a dog that the doctor claims had parvo, although the dog had all his vaccinations, the owner was certain it was the flea collar, but that is not why I rate 1 star, the reason I rate 1 star is because I believe a clinic has the moral and ethical responsibility when a dog arrives in critical condition to supply treatment, money was being raised and a down payment was made, but the clinic sent the dog home to die because it costs too much for a saline drip over night and the owner of the dog did not have money, I personally have no idea how some one can do that, my vet took my dog with an intestine blockage a very expensive operation, my dog was very sick, never even asked for a down payment, and when the operation was done, took six months payments , why? because he cares, and I much rather have a vet that cares more about the dog then money RIP poor Gumbaux

One of the reasons I decided to get a new puppy was because of Riverside Animal Hospital, the staff and Dr. Ritter, himself. The care I see handling my puppy the staff treats both the dog and "parent" with respect. Dr. Ritter listens to me with my questions and then checks my dog for the concerns I have addressed, and explains the answers to me. With a full service vet I would feel comfort knowing if I had to leave my dog in an over night place this is where I would want her. Having a groomer on site is also a plus. She is not at a strange place but maybe she feels at home knowing her surroundings. In conclusion, I will say, "Riverside Animal Hospital is a good thing."

Dr. Ritter and his entire staff have taken care of all three dogs and our cat for most of their lives. Dr Ritter provided all the after surgery care to our Lab/Pit girl named Tribal after her surgery so we wouldn't have to drive back to the Arklatex. The waiting areas are clean and they play great movies for the kids. I would recommend them for any of your pets needs.

We brought our first 2 puppies here since they were 6 weeks old, and they have been treated very well since day 1. Our puppies are already 2 years old; and we keep bringing them here for their annual now. They were also fixed here; excellent job, none of my dogs got hurt and the stitches closed fast without any infections. An my puppies ARE very active. Dr. Ritter seems very knowledgeable and he really takes the time to talk to us about the problem and the potential solutions. He explains all of our options clearly. He understands the financial limitations to everything and doesn't push for tests or treatments after we inform him of what we can or can not afford. He does not rush and he is very gentle with our old gal, Polly. The staff are incredibly friendly, and the freely-roaming kitties are very personable, too. We would gladly recommend Riverside to anyone who wants to be well-informed on the health and wellness of their pets.

These caring & talented people are the greatest!! We tried 2 other very reputable good groomers, but my Dads dog would have NOTHING to do with them, we thought we'd have to have her sedated for a bath & nail clipping. Riverside was going to do it for us with the sedation. NO SEDATION WAS NEEDED! She loves this fabulous group of humans and she looked fabulous too !!! Thank you soooooo much !! They happen to be her Pediatricians too !! We love them !! And most importantly Sidney does !!

I decided to try Riverside because I had recently bought a home across the bridge and have been moving further and further away from my dog's vet for the last few years. I was very happy with the online forms and appointment request. I got an appt scheduled early the next day. The time it took me to get there, wait and come home was just a little longer than just the trip to the other vet. The staff is very nice. Definitely glad I took a chance on Riverside.

I had to board my dog unexpectedly for a day, and I was very pleased with Riverside. In addition to being extremely convenient to Barksdale AFB and the VA Hospital, I was more than pleased to find an extremely clean and professional facility. The rate for boarding was also commensurate with other kennels/animal hospitals. The petcare technician who received my dog was very thoughtful and professional and treated my pet with great care. They walked her several times during her 6-hour stay. Although she didn't stay overnight, I would not hesitate to leave her there again and look forward to it.
