Haven't had any pets need the vet in a few years. Roscoe had an issue with an ear so I brought him in. Saddest thing was updating our info. All of the dogs and cats we had ever brought there have since passed. Elvis, Teddy, Maggie, Scoobie, Presley. Anyway, Roscoe has ear mites and he scratched too much. Got him cleaned up, treated and got meds to treat the rest of the crew at home. All done in less than an hour. Thanks to Dr. Jennifer and the rest of the staff. Roscoe was mad at me for a while, but he is once again a happy cat.

Asked questions regarding my sick animal. Very rude was told, "what do you need" when I trying to speak. Drove to Baton Rouge for emergency care and had a great experience. Do not recommend!!

One of my cats of thirteen years developed terminal kidney disease. A veteranian put her to sleep. I watched the procedure. Very humane. They did a good job under a miserable situation for me.

Said my dog needed some vaccinations and then proceeded to give him some. A few days later, he was unable to eat and even get up. We buried him within a week of being a healthy, outgoing dog. They said it was due to heart arrhythmia. I don't trust them at all.

We have taken our dogs to Riverland since we moved to Louisiana over 5 years ago. We have always been treated with the utmost respect both by the vets and the staff. They treat the animals as if they are their own. We had to have our one dog put to sleep and they were wonderful throughout the process. They are very expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Last visit, vet tech went out of her way to help us. Others, rude. Not friendly at all Update 10/11 I thought I'd give them another try for convenience reasons. Another bad experience going to this vet. Staff unfriendly and very rude. Won't return. ( Dr Breaux in Gonzales)

Wife brought the dog in and was charged $1800.00 for a misdiagnosis. Had to bring him to Dr. Breaux. He got him straight for $240.00. I got him from the shelter and he had heart worms. Timberlands said it was pancreatitis. How do you miss that one.

I LOVE the staff, and even better, they love my dogs as much as I do! I take my dogs here for everything - vaccinations, injuries, boarding. I am so impressed with the professionalism, the fun and kindness towards my animals, and the prices are the best around. Everyone at work uses them too. 5 stars!!

We took our cat Max in because he had a hoarse cough. He had one a few years ago so we figured it was something like an upper respiratory infection. The vet was wonderful, checking him out and assuring us that if he had one before, he might not need meds this time. She told us to come back in a week if it didn't go away, so we left without meds. Lo and behold, it went away on its own! I appreciate that she didn't try to give us meds, which costs more and is not an easy thing to do with cats (of course, we have no problem doing so but if it isn't needed, that's better). We will be returning with our other cats when they need a doctor.

Is there less than 1 star? Took my dog in on an emergency *before closing @ 7* quoted 45$ to see was charges 85$. The vet dr. GOSIK after accusing my wife of being an illegal drug user *while my 6 year old son is in the Room* said she it was poisoning and then proceeded "I won't call the cops, just tell me what you're using" Next another vet comes out and says it'll be 300$ to proceed, which GOSIK walks back out to say "no a minimum of 1,000 but it'll be more" We asked if they had an idea of what was wrong? No we don't, but it's critical. We asked for a roundabout dollar amount and likelihood that our dog would make, to which they would not divulge. So to wrap this up we decided to put him down. Putting him down 50$ Taking his ashes home 200$ *is that a joke* Once he's injected to be put down they come out and say it was HGE due to traveling *IE not poison* Followed by a nurse walking out saying "we've seen this alot and it usually takes 2,000$ to treat this and its 50/50 at best. Moral of the story they knew or thought they knew the cause was, knew what the charged, chose to be a money grab over treating the animal in front of them. Slandered my wife in the presence of my child. 1 IV+1 shot+1 cremation=512$ One to add, with how the Vet spoke to my wife about DK ingesting something, now my 6 year old son believes it was his fault for leaving balloons out. IE this was his dog, great job GOSIK

Pros: Open 24/7, No Appointments needed Cons: Poor customer service (they refuse to break 6 packs of Medicine for growing large breed dogs and instead force you into buying Medicine that you either won't use after month 1 or you're basically doubling the cost of the monthly medicine by giving your dog 2 pills bc of weight), Doctors give the wrong diagnosis (told my work associate that her dog had a strained muscle and would be fine with pain pills; he really had a dislocated disk in his back and needed emergency back surgery) Basically, this is the best evidence I have of why I won't use them except in a case of an EXTREME AFTER HOURS EMERGENCY (they're they only one open like that in LaPlace) - the pharmacist at a local drug store asked me if Riverlands told me to get a certain type of medicine for my dog. When I said no, the response was "Good-they don't know what they are talking about."

I brought my boy there for several years to see Dr Catherine Garon. She is a very knowledgeable but be very clear what you are bringing your pet in for because she seemed to think I had an open account for her to do whatever she wanted before talking to me first. It was nice that they have the patience to take x-rays without drugging my boy but it was nerve wrecking I would go there knowing approximately how much I would be spending but not knowing if she was going to add something. Once my other dog went there for urinalysis, I was told it was clear. Pay my bill and assumed that was it. I go there a few days later for meds for my other dog and find out I own more for my other dog because they were sending off her urine sample to be tested again after telling me it was clear! No thought of asking me about having it rechecked but added to my account. Thankfully I had this taken off and changed her vet.

My 14 year pup had to have emergency surgery after hours,the vet on staff and assistant were very friendly and knowledgeable I was a nervous wreck but the lady there made me feel she was in good hands...fast forward to the next day and the 2 girls behind the counter 1 was very friendly,but the tall,dark hair girl with glasses has a severe case of resting b face, I'd have gotten a warmer greeting from a rattlesnake. I'd like to give 5 stars but 2 days of feeling uncomfortable having to deal with her I can't do it, also spay your female dogs if I'd did what I should have done when she was a puppy,she wouldn't have needed emergency surgery and I would still have $2100.00.

This was the emergency vet who took care of our cat during her final days. Staff was friendly and sympathetic, doctors were honest about prognosis and competent. Allowed family to visit cat while sick, very kind and understanding while we said our final goodbyes. Only complaint is the vet tech kept popping in with paperwork (4x, she kept forgetting something and wouldn't just leave it for me to sign, it had to be signed right away, every time) while we said forever goodbye to our cat- a bit more compassion would have been nice.

My dog wasnt feeling good so i brought her in for a check up. She was up running around b4 she went in there . I was concerned because of weight loss .i was told that she needed to be under observation and quoted a ungodly amount .when i told them i wasnt going to pay it . They administered a dhot and sent her home . I believe they overdosed my dog because i wouldn't pay the bill i was quoted 3k . By the time i got her home she couldnt walk due to whatever they gave her . 3 hours later my dog was dead my wife an child crushed . I wouldnt bring any of my animals here and wished i didnt to beguin with
