Dr. Goss and the rest of the crew at Prairieville Animal Hospital are the best. No problems with wait times for appointments and very amenable to schedule flexibility. They go above and beyond to make sure your pets are well taken care of while staying reasonable on necessary treatments/costs.
First thing I noticed was how clean this place is and then I met the staff and DR. They fit me in and were sooo comforting to my dog. Truly was an amazing experience . Very professional and super friendly.
Knowledgable and friendly staff
bOur Cats
Good vet but wait times in room are killer. Waited over an hour with dogs in tiny room after arriving on time for appointment.
When we first moved to the Prairieville area, our cat came up with unusual symptoms that 2 vets in Baton Rouge had misdiagnosed! Praise the Lord we found a vet who discovered what was wrong and treated our cat with understanding and perfect care:) We really felt like we were treated like family!
My family absolutely love it here. Everyone from the front desk to the Vet, to the boarding people are a blast to deal with. When I walk in I sort of feel like how Belle felt when she walked through town singing the opening to Beauty and the Beast, lazily yet understandably titled...Belle. Everyone is all like, Bonjour!... Bonjour!, except in English cause this is America. But what seals the deal for me is that they treat my dog like Lefou treats Gaston. We secretly know he has feelings for Gaston but its not appropriate to lay it all out like that in a kids movie.
Amazing staff
I've been taking my dogs to Prairieville Animal Hospital for years - even when I had to drive in from LSU. The staff is always kind, courteous, and professional, and the vets are excellent. Dr. Hidalgo is punctual, straight-forward, and answers all of my questions. I never feel like he's in a hurry to get to the next appointment. The staff is patient and caring, and I can tell they really care about the animals. PAH is an excellent place with excellent vets, wonderful staff, and I couldn't recommend them more highly.
Dear Dr. Lance and the Staff of PAH, I can’t thank you enough for the sensitive and compassionate way you walked me through the most difficult decision of my life last Friday. As Bonesaw has grown older, I have dreaded the thought that I might have to make the decision one day to have her put to sleep. I hoped that perhaps she would just pass away in her sleep. I didn’t think I could ever muster whatever it would take to have to make that decision myself. You took such care last Friday in explaining her situation to me and gently bringing me to the point where it was clear that this was the most loving choice I could make. I appreciate the thoughtful way in which you gave me time with her, presented options to me of staying or not staying, and gave me time to make each decision. Your “bedside manner” and “pastoral sensitivity” were as fine as I have ever experienced in any medical setting. I genuinely felt your concern for Bonesaw and for me as her master. I want to also thank you for the wonderful and friendly care you have given to Bonesaw over the nearly fourteen years. I attribute the healthy years she has had to your professional and quality care. I was blessed to have this special friend for almost fourteen years and, as the song says, “I miss you like crazy.” Since Friday, I have had some of the most soul searching prayer and conversations with God about the destiny of such special creatures. I told my congregation at the Masses this weekend that next weekend, Trinity Sunday, I would give a homily about where I believe pets fit into God’s plan of heaven. This is something that I have come to deeply believe and that I need to deeply believe. I want to offer my assistance to you, should you ever have a client that is struggling with grief after the death of a beloved pet, I would be glad to offer my pastoral assistance and prayer to help them through. You may refer them to me at any time. Bonesaw, who has been such a compassionate presence to me and so many others, would like this. I have placed it in God’s hands to help me find another faithful friend, not to replace Bonesaw, but to develop another wonderful relationship such as we had. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. God Bless your wonderful care for God’s special creatures and their families, Fr. Eric
Great people who care about your pet. We have been customers for over ten years and are always very happy.
We bring all our pets (2 dogs, 2 cats) here and are always more than satisfied with their care.
Best dr office ever
It is in excellent place, people are super friendly.
Thank You to the Staff of Prairieville Animal Hospital and most importantly Dr. Gosh. The clinic has been taken care of my five pets for several years. We all knew my little Harley, (12-year-old Jack Russell) was near the end of his time. I too, work in the healthcare profession and my out of town work schedule of seven days, came at the worst possible time for my little buddy. Dr. Gosh and his staff knew I just wanted to be there for my little buddy's passing and they went above and beyond to try and make that happen. We kept in contact all week and on that Sunday night my work schedule was complete I was three hours away headed home when Dr. Gosh call me at 9 PM to discuss Harley's expected declining position which we addressed immediately. I have no doubt my little buddy was in competent hands and was made comfortable as possible the entire time I was out of town. I've practice medicine over 25 years and I genuine love my pets. I'm sad I lost my buddy, but I am pleased and have great comfort knowing Harley received excellent care. I'd like to close with a Sincere Heart Felt, Thanks to You All at Prairieville Animal Hospital. Lannie & Karen Pino, along with his buddies, Davis, Zeus, Ba-Bet and Phoebe.
I take all my pets here (a dog and 2 cats). The staff is friendly, efficient and caring. I get text or email reminders of my appointments, and I never have to sit and wait for the doctor. (Except once when there was an emergency...a dog hit by a car. Then the entire staff went into immediate 'save a life mode' and I was more than happy to wait!) I was recently dealing with a very old cat (15+) who started running a mystery fever and stopped eating. Dr Goss was wonderful throughout the entire process. He always let me know what my options for treatment were, what the cost would be and what the likelihood of a positive outcome were. When we eventually ran out of practical options, that, too, was handled with kindness and sensitivity. Although I'm planning on moving to Gonzales in the near future, my pets will continue to go to Prairieville Animal Hospital.
We've been taking our two dogs and cat here for 10+ years and absolutely love all the doctors. Our regular DVM is Dr. Goss and he is very open to any questions and happy to take the time to discuss any concerns we may have. Many have mentioned prices being high, however though the service fee for a given procedure may be higher, at many other vets anesthesia or other expenses are not quoted in the initial cost and ultimately the prices are typically the same.
We have been loyal, paying customers for 10+ years. Our dog is 14 and no longer able to walk, so we had made an unfortunate decision to put down our beautiful girl. Prairieville Animal Hospital wanted to charge $219 to euthanize her (and carry home) or nearly $300 to cremate. This is a terrible way to capitalize on someone's grief! We decided instead to bring her to Dr. Breaux in Gonzales, who charged us *$35* AND allowed us to keep her in the car due to her pain. He was very dignified, caring, and our dog passed away in one of her favorite places surrounded by love. I am very disappointed and hurt by PAH, especially because a person never wants to feel taken advantage of while grieving the loss of a family member. Prairieville Animal Hospital will NEVER have my business again. Period.
One of the best hospitals in town! Saved my dogs life and the dr are amazing!
Great Pet Hospital. They saved my dogs life.
Great service and my dogs have never had problems after going there.
Used them for years. Zero complaints.
They actually care!!
Only place to bring my fur babies. Dr. H is by far the best.
Love our vet and our babies do too. The staff is great!!
Took very good care of my Yorkie
Always friendly well received loves our dogs goes the extra mile for our pets.
They treat their customers like family. My Chase who they called, "Frankenweenie" they took very good care of and saved him after his neck was ripped open over 75%; hence, the name. I love this TEAM!
HIGHLY recommend this vet and DR. Goss
Dr. Hidalgo and Dr. Goss have always been very helpful, patient, and polite. Our dogs have all lived to at least 12 years old in human years.
Excellent. Cannot say enough.
Rates are great and really like the veterinarian.
I retract my original one star review and the owner called my wife to apologize.
Great doctirs great staff
I would still be bringing my dog here if we hadn't moved a half hour away. They were always friendly and easy to deal with, making appointments was painless, and the prices were fair.
I called to see about getting my yorkies nails clipped. They told me it was only $10 and i could walk in. I drove thru the masdive traffic and road construction to get there to be asked for my dogs shot records, which I had not been told on phone. As they were still in storage I wasted the trip.
