There is some amazing story about our dog Dasha who was so lucky to meet because of our daughter the great Doctor Lisa Keehner and her wonderful Team from the Springhurst Animal Hospital. This Hospital has the unique acupuncture theraphy which helped our dog to stand on her paws again and walk. Dasha couldn't do that more than one month because of the problem with her spine. The prescribed medication didn't work for her as well and just after six sessions of acupuncture which was made by Doctor Keehner our Dasha started to walk much better. So, we are so thankful to have our beloved dog again and we appreciate the Springhurst Animal Hospital's service a lot. Thank you, thank you, and thank you again. You did the Best!

For the past 12+ years we have been taking our dogs to Springhurst Animal Hospital. The staff treats our pets like their own & the doctors are fantastic. I can not think of one thing they could improve on. We have had some really sick babies & they took wonderful care of them & held our hands through some difficult moments. Dr. Hankins is a great doctor & one of the kindest people I know. I can't say enough about him. We have used the kennel & groomer as well - both being top notch. All the techs are so loving to our dogs! It makes leaving them a little easier knowing they are well cared for. The front desk personnel couldn't be more professional & helpful. They always have a smile & are willing to help you with what you need. Making appointments to answering questions about medicine. And they have a fantastic dog trainer on site who is very helpful for new puppies or issues your dog may have. He truly is a "dog whisperer"! 5 Stars aren't enough.

We have always brought our pets to Springhurst and we always will! We usually see Dr. Keheener who is fabulous and treats us and our pets like family but she was in surgery when we brought Gimli in for his annual and shots so we saw Dr. Stello who is amazing as well. These Drs really care about him and take such good care of him. Being a shy indoor cat he does not love going to the vet but the Drs put him at ease and that is saying something. We would never take him anywhere else!.

The medical staff was rude and they nickel and dime you. They insisted that my pet needed obedience school even though she is a brand new puppy. They gave me an estimate for my puppy to be spayed that was 3 times what other offices charge. They perform procedures and charge you without discussion. Needless to say I will not be going back.

After moving to Kentucky from another state, I chose this office based on reviews and location. While my visits have been pleasant and the staff has been friendly, I question a few things that could have been done differently. First of all, shortly after my first visit here, I decided to use their boarding service. I wasn't informed until I actually dropped my two dogs off that they would be in separate kennels, which is not okay. Considering my plans required me to immediately leave for my trip as soon as I dropped them off, I didn't have time to make other arrangements. It would have been nice to know that ahead of time; I haven't boarded with this clinic since. Secondly, the first time I came here for vaccines for my two dogs, they never reviewed which vaccines they were giving my dogs, but instead just went ahead and did it. A discussion beforehand would have prevented my boys from getting unnecessary vaccines! Thirdly, I was just notified that their Bordatella vaccine is a 6 month vaccine instead of the 12 month that my previous vet administered. What's absurd is that the receptionist was not able to provide any reasons showing this to be medically beneficial or necessary. The office, however, will benefit from charging me for another office call, not to mention I have to take time out of my busy schedule for another appointment. Overall, I don't think I'd put this office on the top of my recommendations for veterinary care. I prefer offices that don't hide things and are a bit more proactive in disclosing important information.

Dr. Lee Hankins is a very compassionate, knowledgeable Vet. He has excellent communication skills and he's been our go-to for the better part of a decade. The Springhurst staff and family of Vets are very personable and helpful. They have smiles on their faces, explain the services rendered and always repeat medication applications, if necessary. Conveniently located on HWY 22 near Gene Snyder, you would be doing your pet a disservice if you are looking for superior veterinary care and don't opt to go there.

I have 2 German Shepherds and one has Wobblers Syndrome and had a bad relapse last year and Dr. Keehner and all the staff were so awesome and caring!! They really helped him (and me) get through it. After a round of steroids and acupuncture and now he's back to his normal happy healthy self!! I recently moved here and after his surgery I was concerned about finding a good vet, well I found a really great vet and won't trust the care of any of my German Shepherds to anyone else!! I first went to Springhurst Animal Hospital on a Christmas Eve 5 or 6 years ago with a dog screaming in pain but with no obvious illness. I chose them because they were close to my house. Dr. Stello and her team were quick, kind and thorough. After I told Dr. Stello I was a NICU nurse, she spoke to me as a medical professional, which I always appreciate, and when I told her that I did not want to spend $4000 to go to a neurosurgeon but I didn't want my dog in pain, there was absolutely no judgement. We discussed ALL the alternative options and she was very patient with my many questions and my tears. I am happy to report that with some medications and some patience, my little guy did very well! I am a rescuer and always have a rotating cast of dog characters in my home, many of whom come to me as seniors or with special needs. They offer a multiple dog discount that helps a lot with a herd like mine and even offer alternative medicine such as acupuncture and cold laser. EVERYONE at Springhurst Animal Hospital is gentle and kind with my pups and my family, from the ladies at the desk to the techs to all of the doctors! Even though I started with Springhurst Animal Hospital due to proximity, I return because it is so obvious they truly care for my pups. I will continue to see Dr. Stello, Dr. Keehner, Dr. Hankins and their team to care for my fur babies, as well as recommend them to anyone and everyone that I can!

Friendly, clean but expensive. They offer military discount. I've had great visits but I've also had some so-so visits as well. They do not give any type of refund, not for medicine or even unused medical equipment so, once you leave with something, it's yours permanently even if you find your pet is allergic, or unable to use it. I do not have any experience with the grooming as of yet, however I have boarded my dogs there, and again, it's pretty costly for what they give you. If you want extra attention for your pet you will pay for it, and there is no one there overnight.

We have been clients at SAH for 17 years. I cannot recommend this clinic, its docs and staff more highly. The front of the clinic staff is friendly and organized, and Mary (the practice manager) is always available to address questions and concerns. The kennel staff has always taken great care when we boarded, and the grooming staff does well. The docs are knowledgeable, and willing to offer advice, even in hard situations. We recently had to make the difficult decision to euthanize our elderly dog, and the staff was informative, kind and compassionate through the process. A new dog recently joined our family, and we hope we have a long relationship with this practice with the new dog as well. We recently moved to a different part of town, and have numerous pet care options close by, but we'll drive to Springhurst because we know our fur baby will get top notch care there! It's been fun watching the practice grow over the years.

Our furbabies have been seen by Dr. Stello for almost 17 years. She is AMAZING with our dogs. She even came out to our home to help us euthanize one of our dogs. The only issue I have had is the cost. This vet office charges much more than the other ones in the area. We have 3 dogs and do not receive much of a discount. Springhurst is more on the expensive side (although you can get a discount by the time you've brought your third furbaby in) but well worth it. The vets take their time with you, make sure to answer all of your questions, and are quite knowledgeable. The staff is extremely caring, especially in the event that you have to put a beloved pet down.

I love these people. When my cat, Kirby, was sick in 2012 the doctors and staff were so caring and took time to explain everything to me. When we had to put him to sleep, they let me hold him and the following few days I got a pawprint set in clay of my kirby with his date and a lovely poem. They really went the extra mile. When I adopted my new cat in May 2016, they were the first place I took her. They were so happy and caring. I will always take my pets there and would gladly recommend them to everyone.

They are very friendly and their professionalism is off the charts. I didn't know this, but they have boarding and also professional grooming, all at one location. Lisa Keehner is one of the many doctors there, who are all fabulous people! They are all at the top of their game, which is to cure your furry family members. So, in closing, please if you love your pets, take them to Springhurst Animal Hospital to get the top notch care your fur babies deserve.
