The staff gave me and my new blind doggie the best care. Very fair pricing. After my poor dog passed, (after a pretty short life), they helped me send her to a better place. Then in the mail, I received a sympathy card, signed by all the staff, saying how sorry they were for our loss, etc. it was touching and shows that they care about animals and their people!!

Took my dog Hank in for his vaccines, the staff was great and helpful from as soon as I first called. I had no paperwork and no info and they could guide me through everything I needed. The doctor (Ferrell) was so sweet and caring and just everyone was great. Definitely my vet now.

We are new, and really loved our last vet in IL, so chosing one in KY was not a simple decision. Both of our dogs are very comfortable at Southland. The staff is is open, understanding, and very kind. They are understanding when you need a last minute appointment, and really communicate. We are lucky to have found such a wonderful vet.

I’ve been going to Southland for a long time. My sister and daughter go there as well. I love Dr. Millie Hardigree and my dogs love her too. She is awesome at what she does. There have been days that the staff weren’t very welcoming but we all have those days! Millie has been helping me in ways that other vets would not and I appreciate it so much!

This is an outstanding veterinary facility. Dr. Hardigree was my vet and I love her way with animals (AND people!!!). She is caring and thorough and willing to explain in as much detail as owners need or want (and I needed and wanted a LOT). The staff is wonderful -- full of compassion, but very professional at all times. My dog had many issues over the years and I brought her to SVH with complete trust and confidence. I also boarded my doggie at SVH just because I wanted her near her doctor if problems should arise. The boarding care was as good as my dog got anywhere.

The Southland Vet Clinic staff and Dr. Hardigree have cared for my cats for over twenty years. Their love and compassion for animals is evident in everything they do. One of my cats, who has since passed on, was a wonderfully sweet animal when she was at home, but turned into "a puma with a bad attitude" whenever she visited the vet. Even with her, they were patient, understanding and kind.

Southland Veterinary Hospital could not have been more accommodating when our dog needed emergency care. They were very helpful and welcoming despite the fact that we had no appointment and were first time visitors to the hospital. When our dog continued to need follow up care, they went above and beyond to help him get better. The price was more than fair and the provided care was above average.

Update: Two years later and I couldn’t be happier to bring my pets here. Fantastic care provided by some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Original: I'm new to the area and with several cats and dogs, I needed a new vet quickly. I've only been a few times, but I've already found them to be well stocked with special diet food, professional, and most importantly, caring. An additional plus is that the facility always smells good!

This is just another chance to thank the "Pretty Ladies" as we have always refer to the women at Southland Veterinary Hospital. The Pie Dog (AKA escape artist ) was a guest there last week while most of the neighborhood was out frantically screaming and hunting for a crazy beagle-- while she was laying in the lap of luxury with her friends down on Southland Dr.. Thank you for calling so many times (on the home phone ) to find us while we were out and for the care you showed several years ago when my other dog Lucky was lost in a snowstorm and you were instrumental in helping me find her. This is the only vet for us .

Southland Veterinary Hospital is one of the most unprofessional and incompetent practice's I have ever had the displeasure of visiting. My Appointment was 11.00am but due to my request of an International Health Certificate which they knew prior would be the reason for my visit, I was told to return 5 hours later as Dr Davis was unaware of what a health certificate was, how to fill one out or even how to obtain one. I went to the trouble of not only printing a health certificate but I also spoke to APHIS directly to request they help Dr Davis through the process. after a further 2 hours of waiting and being informed their microchip scanner doesn't even work I decided to vacate Southland Vets where I was sent on my way with an eye roll and a "good luck with that" from their in house "Accredited" vet Dr Davis herself, and further to this I have traveled my pet internationally on several occasions using several different Accredited vets and I have never been met with such incompetence even to the point where she was telling me I needed additional paperwork to the paperwork she already couldn't fill in, when I know full well I don't and Dr Davis didn't even know what a health certificate was 5 hours previous, When I corrected her, her response was "well I've Googled it" ????????

Nice employees, but they only half treated my dogs Addison’s disease to only lead to further problems. Leading me to believe he only needed to take one Adrenaline supplement, when really he needs two. Having taken 3 WEEKS just to figure out what was wrong, $1500 later and my dog lost 20lbs and STILL southland Did NOTHING to help or lead me in the direction of recovery. While in the process upcharging me for as much as possible. ($100 just to give him water) I just went to the Clays mill clinic, and got charged half the price, AND the main Vet is SOOO helpful and actually concerned for your pet. SOUTHLAND JUST WANTS YOUR MONEY!! PLENTY of other vets that are WAY better at their jobs for HALF the price.

They we're fast as they knew I was worried about my dog. However, they performed an "exploratory" surgery?! When there was a "clear obstruction"?! Of course found nothing!!!! Shame on you for cutting my baby for no reason! And shame on you for charging me so much! You seen me coming that's for sure!

They do not have the time to see emergencies and are overpriced. They never gave me a reminder call/txt/ or email so i had to call myself to confirm. The first impression was great but the follow ups were dissapointing especially after all these 5 star reviews. Would not recommend this office especially if your pet ever has an emergency.

I have been seeing Dr. Thompson to treat various issues that my dog has been having. She has been absolutely wonderful. She has been very patient and kind when handling my countless questions. I have also loved her approach to testing and treating my little Minnie. Dr. Thomas and the entire staff have been absolutely wonderful! I can not recommend them enough.

Have taken both our dogs here their entire lives and will never go elsewhere. Our lab required reconstructive knee surgery after an accident on some steps, and these wonderful ladies did not only the surgery (which was great and well priced ) but provided all the follow up care too. They provide grooming services, boarding, spaying/neutering, anal-gland expulsion, and top of the line services like laser-guided arthritis treatments. Always friendly and helpful staff, and very willing to help squeeze in an appointment in a pinch. You will not regret taking your 4 legged family member here!

The worst experience that I have ever had at a veterinarian clinic. I, as well as several of my family members, have gone to SVH for years, dating back to the Del-Tor years, but not after today. Long-story short, Dr. Malinda Ferrell is insensitive, clueless, unfriendly, and rude. I love Dr. Hardigree and I am sorry that she was not in town today. I am also sorry that her clinic has lost its "welcoming, family feel" that it had for so many years.
