We have taken our pets here for all their spaying/neutering and vaccines, as well as annual wellness checkups and flea, tick, and heart worm preventatives. The staff has always been incredibly helpful and friendly and I cannot tell you how much money they have saved us! Their Saturday wellness checks are by walk in only, but they are very efficient and I do not think I've ever waited longer than 20 minutes to be seen. Spaying/neutering is by appointment and we had no complaints or complications with any of our pets operations. Highly recommend SNIP Clinic. :)

I promise this is true: They said they wouldn't cut my dogs sack off because his medical records say he has been neutered already. My dog has two testicles. If S.N.I.P. won't SNIP, then I guess I'll have to go outside the humane society.

Everyone at the SNIP clinic is just delightful. They care about your pets as much as you do. I also have a vet that I love, but for the price and care, I recommend SNIP for your pet altering needs. Just be sure to get there early - if the drop off is 800, get there at 730 - parking is more in demand than supply.

They said my dog was obese and needed to lose 20 pounds. They would not spay her. I’ve taken her to two other vets that said they have no idea what they’re talking about that her weight is good. I’m now glad I didn’t go there because I don’t think they know what they’re talking about. It’s worth the extra money to go to a different vet.

I get that it's best to keep the pets out of the lines and whatnot, but some people can't drive and get dropped off via lyft or whatev instead, so the fact that you have to keep your pet in a nonexistent car while waiting is a huge problem.

My friend already left a review and included some details (we had our boys fixed a day apart) but I just wanted to add to it. My husband took our sweet boy in. He is a pitbull. So his neuter was free. We paid 10 for his rabies shot, as it was the only one he needed. And another 10 for the cone. We were told as he was so large (or his scrotum at least) he would experience some extra swelling and pain. We then had to pay another 15 or 20 (I don't remember how much husband said) for the 4 pills he had to take for the next few days. They didn't help with the swelling or pain. As he still laid about crying. And his sack was triple the size it was before. Red, purple and black. When my husband picked him up, he was told Loki had been licking himself and he was not in his cone that we paid for. Yet hubs was told in person and on the aftercare sheet absolutely NO licking. I found this ridiculous and irresponsible. Luckily for my sweet boy, we were able to nurse him and get him feeling to himself. We are now 2 weeks post op. He has a tattoo, no scar. And the swelling has gone down. But he looks and feels like he did before surgery. Like he still has his testicles. I will not be returning for my female. She will go to someone who won't let her lick after surgery and I will pay for the services. Because honestly I'd rather pay to make sure it's done right. As for Loki, I suppose he'll be getting checked out at our vet as well to make sure the free surgery we ended up paying 35-40 dollars for actually happened. I have already warned my family members not to go here. As they all have pitbull type dogs and I wouldn't want their dogs to go through the same. Or worse. I regret putting mine through it.

I took my pitbull here to get neutered and they did an excellent job with taking great care of him. He had a little anxiety when he was going back and they made sure to be patient with him and very easy. We’ll be returning with our other 2 dogs!

Took our cat here to be spayed. Dropped her off early and filled out the paperwork. Went to pick her up at 445. Was told she had been previously spayed. She's a great little girl who wondered up the drive and we wanted to be sure of no surprises. They didn't call and tell us she was already fixed and charged us 20.00 to tell us when I picked her up that she was fixed. They put a tattoo on her stomach as a means to tell others shed been fixed. I don't mind the money so much, it's just that they have an assembly line for fixing animals and they're so busy they can't take a moment to call ahead to tell you or ask if you want to pick the animal up earlier as I would have preferred. They don't allow pick up till 445 and not a minute before. Total price would have been about 57.00. Had I had our vet do the deed it would have cost 65.00 and it could have been done within a week vs almost 2 months waiting for the clinic. So for those choosing to have their beloved pets fixed, might be a good idea to check with your vet first. I know our vet would have checked her completely over first to ensure she hadn't been fixed prior and most likely not have charged us. No knock against the clinic. Many swear by it, but even though I don't plan on any other animals fixed as all are fixed, I'd do a little more homework to check around with your vet or perhaps a vet close to you who is similarly priced and the wait way shooter.

This place is great for spay and neuters. They are extremely affordable and even give free spay/neuters for pit/pit mixes. Usually you arrive at 8 in the morning and then bring your fur baby home at 5pm. They offer vaccinations, microchipping, nail trims and other things I believe. Appointments only.

Poorly selected area. Not necessarily good for handling a morning and afternoon rush. There is no beating the rush, 8:00 am arrival, no changing that, and 5:00 pm pick up. Also no change to that. Built for efficiency, affordable, quick for sure. Just have to wait in a crowd, or sho up early just to wait in your car. Can't take animal inside untill they have been registered.

My female Pitbull had a "free" Spayed procedure but she got a really bad infection from her surgery and had to pay her vet $250 to treat it. So I can't say for sure if it's just natural cause or what?? I've read other reviews that this had happened to they're pets but she's ok and can't have puppies.

This was a very simple and affordable process to get my cat fixed. I requested the appointment online and got the next Monday scheduled. Registered, it cost $50 to neuter him. If your fur baby doesn't have their rabies shot you can also pay an extra $10 to have that done. They were friendly and informative as well. Definitely recommend the SNIP clinic.

If you are bringing your pet here to be sterilized, I would suggest bringing a second person with. When you are filling out the forms and paying, your pet has to wait out in the car and I had to be away from my pet for around 30-40 minutes. If you bring a second person they can sit with the air on, or sit outside. Also I would bring water for your pet if they are allowed to have it. It was in the 80s today when we were waiting outside. They spayed my pitbull mix for free today, they offer other services at the time that are affordable. $7 nail clip, $27 microchips. The staff was really friendly, informative, and welcoming and the building was clean. The only thing I would recommend is telling people on the phone to bring a 2nd person to wait with the pet. Thank you for offerig this service and helping pets.

This place is very systematic - I was shocked at the sheer amount of animals they see in a day. I'm so happy this place exists because everyone deserves to be able to get their pet sterilized. Until shelters are empty, we don't need to be making any more little ones. I felt that everyone there was very nice, and it was very affordable. There is an extra $10 charge for a cone. I feel that most dogs will probably need one.

They did a really good job with my dog. The process was not like a normal vet. After making the appointment you have to be there the day of the surgery by 8am and then pick your dog up at 5pm. And there was a line to stand in to drop off and pick up. But they took good care of her. We will probably use thier services again in the future.

Okay first of all, the wait to drop off/pick up is very long. Especially in the summer when it's 96 degrees at 10 am but believe me it's worth it. The really cool thing is that they offer free spaying and neutering for Pitbulls!! Now if you don't have a Pitty dont worry! They still offer the most affordable prices in Louisville, but note that they judge the pricing based on the size of your fur baby, so dont get mad if the lady with the chihuahua pays less than the person with the great Dane (otherwise known as a miniature horse). They also offer to microchip for only $25 (same price for every size of animal) and vaccines as well

I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU SEND YOUR PET HERE! I had a perfectly healthy cat, he has had all his shots, and had nothing wrong with him. When he was picked up from the clinic, he was in so much pain that he was shaking. He continued to shake and we noticed he had gotten fleas from being there. We took him to Jefferson Animal Hospital who noticed that the S.N.I.P. Clinic had butchered his surgery, he has infection in the incision. We are now out of pocket $400 from medications for our baby. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF, I know the prices are good but you will be paying more for nurturing your baby back to health from this butcher shop.
