They took great care of our dog while we were on vacation.

We took our Bo to see them not knowing what was wrong with him or anything about this vet clinic. I was so blessed to have picked the right place for us and Bo. They eased our minds, addressed concerns and explained each and every step of the prcedure. This place is now our dogs new home!!! Would highly recommend!!!!

We took our dog to be seen for several days of not eating, weakness, and lethargy. The Vet that came in was terrible. Her assessment took around 45 seconds, and she barely touched him. After blood work and fecal revealed nothing acute, so decided that he needed "more" blood work to test his Thyroid and told us how much the medicine is and how often we would come back to recheck (she wanted to start him on the medication right away with the more in depth test also). She also gave hime antibiotics, nausea medication, and powder to sprinkle on food. We both felt right away this was not right! Next morning our dog could barely walk. We took him to another vet in Lexington who took exceptional care of him. The vet did a PROPER assessment and found he is having back pain. He got a steroid shot in the office with pills to take home, including nerve pain medication. After one day of treatment and our boy is eating and moving better. We were also advised to stop all medication the first vet gave us. So we were out $290.00 for the visit to Scott County Vet. We called and asked for at least a partial refund since there diagnosis and treatment plan was so far off, but I will let you guess how that went. We asked for a return call from the primary vetinarian to file a complaint for such terrible care and assessment, but never received a call. They got there $290.00 out of us, and that is all that matters to them!

The front office staff are very friendly and answer calls promptly. The doctors and vet techs are professional, knowledgeable, caring, and patient. Top quality care at reasonable prices for your furry family members! And now offering boarding!

Thomas Smith

If I could give ZERO stars I would! Completely incompetent veterenarian. Cost us a ton of money to end up just throwing an antibiotic at the situation and see what happens. I HOPE EVERYONE CAN SEE THIS REVIEW! I could have diagnosed my animal better than the vet did and she hardly touched the dog. I will give a review on whatever website I can! I tried to take care of the problem with the head of the office and they did not call back. Wait... they did call back when I told them I was bringing their meds back because my "second opinion" diagnosed my dog with a SPINAL INJURY not a "stomach bug!" So they called me back to tell me no we can't take your meds back! I hope no one uses them!!

Scott County Veterinary Clinic has cared for our family member since he was a Puppy. The staff is always friendly and compassionate. Couple days after we went in for a routine check up and shots, they called to check to make sure he was doing well. Thank you Dr. Young for taking good care of Willie.

Fred Wilson

Extremely nice staff, Dr. Young is the best. She truly cares about your animals health and well being. I would highly recommend the service to any of my friends.

BEWARE!!!! KENNEL COUGH!!!!! CONTAGIOUS!!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS HERE. I had my dogs boarded here while I was away on vacation and I had specific instructions for them to receive their annual shots while I was gone (even though none of their shots were expired.) In addition to their annual shots, the vet clinic told me that they needed Bordetella every 6 months to be allowed to be boarded there to be extra safe. My dogs Bordetalla was still valid, and accepting their "Every 6 months" policy I agreed that it could be administered as well. I come home from vacation to find out my dogs did not receive the Bordetella or any of their shots I requested. Long story short, the technician in the back with the kenneled dogs makes the decisions for all animals without calling the owners, and saw that the shots weren't expired so my dogs did not receive anything, not even the Bordetella. SHE IGNORED THE PAPERWORK that the front desk filled out while I was at the counter. NO ONE CALLED ME to verify anything, they just didn't do it. I made a post on here, received a response, and a phone call from the doctor who seemed sincere and apologetic, changed my review, and now changing it again because..... Well, now my dog has KENNEL COUGH (and I have tons of videos of it!) I thought it was fair to give this vet office a chance to remedy the situation THAT THEY CREATED.... Dr. Young REFUSED to believe my dog had kennel cough and said it was a sore throat even though she and the tech were unable to see down my dogs throat (dog was unwilling.) I asked the doctor what the difference was between the two and she said, "I don't know." Are you kidding me????? They wanted to treat her for a sore throat but I asked how they knew she had a sore throat since they couldn't even see it. I said I was taking my dog to another doctor for a second opinion for kennel cough and then ALL THE SUDDEN the doctor said well it might be kennel cough, and that she didn't say it wasn't. Ahhh, there it is..... It MIGHT BE KENNEL COUGH. She was very threatened that I was going to take my dog elsewhere and told me the test to check for kennel cough was very expensive as the excuse not to do the test and my dog still have kennel cough... I told her I really don't care how expensive it is! How does she even know what I can afford? I then told them again, I was going somewhere else and I left. This place is an absolute JOKE and the doctor is uneducated and unprofessional. She can't even pull her pants up! Do not board your dog here unless you want them to be OVERLOOKED and to contact Bordetella. Kind of funny, I got a postcard in the mail from them postmarked for JUNE 12th that their Rabies shots were due and that I should schedule an appointment... GUESS WHAT, they were THERE and SUPPOSED to be receiving it!!!! This place looks nice on the outside and that's why I gave them a chance but I deeply regret it. My dog has never had kennel cough before but I called my previous vet office to tell them my dog might have kennel cough and because its SO CONTAGIOUS they won't even let me bring her into the building. They want her examined outside. Wow, this sure does sound SERIOUS.... I bet Scott Co. Vet clinic is super contaminated, and guess what... they don't really care. They'll just tell you that your pet doesn't have a cough, even though they are COUGHING in front of them.... I am so disappointed.

we have an old dog who is moving slower these days. when we had an emergency, the staff were right there for us and walked us through how to care for him. we have since brought our entire pack there for all their checkups and shots. the facility is beautiful, the prices are highly affordable, and the vet is so good with our very finicky pets. love this place.

Pet owner beware---not having a vet in town and new to the community. l chose this company. My beloved Daisy was sick, very sick, they ran tests galore. l felt that l was a ticking money clock. So l made the hard decision to have her put to sleep, never did the vet introduce himself.. and right before the needle went in l put my hand out and finally said-- nice to meet you. l was overcharged this place is a money maker period... and too boot, do you think for one minute l GOT A CONDOLENCE CARD , BEING A NEW CUSTOMER? NO!

CURETONTAX

I HAD TO CHOOSE ONE STAR, "HATED IT", IN ORDER TO POST MY REVIEW...I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED AN ADDITIONAL OPTION TO INDICATE A 'WARNING'. MY SON'S DOG, "CHARLIE", JUST DIED FROM PARVO; THEY DID NOT TEST FOR IT WHEN HE WAS TAKEN THERE DUE TO A SUDDEN ONSET OF ILLNESS EVEN THOUGH HE PRESENTED WITH PARVO SYMPTOMS. THEIR REASON FOR NOT DOING THE PARVO TEST??? THEY "DIDN'T FEEL IT WAS NECESSARY" AND DISMISSED SAME AS A "MISCOMMUNICATION" BETWEEN THE OFFICE MANAGER AND MY SON RE: "CHARLIE'S" CARE???!!! MISCOMMUNICATION, REALLY??? A FAMILY MEMBER IS NOW LOST TO US FOR ALL ETERNITY...THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE TRUSTING THIS CLINIC WITH THE LIFE OF YOUR BELOVED PETS!!!

Everyone here is great! They all take great care of you and your furkids. Dr. Young is the best vet I have ever had. She always calls and checks on my dogs if I had to bring them in for anything. You can see how they all love what they do and love all the animals and owners that they deal with. They will also meet you anytime of night if you have an emergency. The GREATEST PLACE TO GO TO. Whatever you do, don't go here. I had used Dr Young a couple of times in 2013. I never had any problems until that point, although I always felt like she didn't do a thorough enough exam. I took my oldest cat (only 10 at the time) in there in early August of 2014 because she had developed a pea size mass on her neck. Dr Young aspirated it, found nothing and proceeded to tell me it was a benign cyst. My gut told me there was something great going on, but I am not a vet, so I trusted her. Two weeks later, the mass had grown to the size of a dime. I went to the afford a vet on Richmond rd for a second opinion. They also aspirated it, but first they gave my cat benadryl to help hold the cells of the mass together for a better sample. Dr Young did NOT do this. Cancer cells were found in the aspiration, and they sent off another sample for additional testing. When the results came back a week later, the mass was a malignant melonoma tumour. NOT a benign cyst. Afford a vet doesn't perform surgery, so I went to Clay's Mill Vet clinic. By the time they had examined her and she went into surgery, the tumour was the size of a quarter. Unfortunately they were not able to remove all of the tumour because it was getting into her spine by this point. The surgeon told me had the tumour been smaller, he could have removed it entirely. As it turned it, my lovely Miss Honor died in May of 2015. Had one SIMPLE test been done properly by Dr Young, my cat might still be alive. So please. Do not go here. Do not risk your pet's life because this place is convenient to your home. I highly recommend Clay's Mill, but just go anywhere but Scott county.

On 09-02-19, I lost my dog. He had recovered great and then took a turn for the worse. I called Scott County Veterinary and left a message and it was returned after hours in 5 minutes. Dr. Young met me at clinic in 20 minutes. Unfortunately, my Tahoe didn’t make it and died on way there. He was very large dog and all test done at my normal veterinary were ok. He died of natural causes. Anyway, it all came as a surprise considering all test were good. I was very distraught and couldn’t think straight. I loved this dog. Dr. Young was very professional and compassionate to my feelings. There was nothing anyone could do, but she went above and beyond to help. I had him cremated and they made the process as simple as possible. I expected to pay much more than I ended up paying in end too, which surprised me. This is the only time I’ve dealt with Scott County Vet., but I plan on bringing my other dog here and would highly recommend this location. I very seldom post anything besides a few negative things I’ve posted on other sites. I’m very pleased with service, prices and quality I received here, so I felt obligated to say thank you to all the staff at Scott Count Vet. and unbiasedly recommend it to other pet lovers! Thank you all, Chris Martin.

Where do I begin. We took our sick dog Molly here fo a second opinion after months of miss diagnosis. We found out during that visit that she had cancer and didn’t have long to live. Dr. Wilson and her staff where so accommodating and also gracious when delivering the news. They gave us great consultation on what we should to and also realistically realize with her condition. We made the decision to put her to sleep a week later. When we arrived we were able to go into a side entrance to a very warm and comforting room rather than the usual rooms. They were very sweet and kept my wife and I very comfortable during the process. I couldn’t thank them enough for the kindness they showed us and our beloved dog. After we had it done we received a hand written card from the entire office team a few days later. This meant the world to my wife and I. We will be switching to this vet full time now. Prices are so reasonable and the people make all the difference in the world. Thank you Scott County Vet Clinic!

Pamela Funk

Very nice, new facilities. The staff was very nice and helpful. We had to seek after-hours, emergency care for one of our dogs. The veterinarian was so gentle, knowledgeable and helpful. We have already been back twice, and will use them for everything in the future!

If i could giv 0 stars i would..... im sitting here watching my dog die and dont get paid till friday and they refuse to see or treat him.... its sad that all they care about is money and not the health and well being of my baby boy.

Been to many vets in area. I don't use any other now Great service every time

Becka Bee

I am so shocked to see negative reviews on here. We used to take our dogs elsewhere and after one visit here I will never take them anywhere else. They have always been friendly and fit us in for appointments. I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Wells. She is 100% the best vet I have ever encountered. She is brilliant and takes such great care of our fur babies every visit.
