That being said...I have seen other staff members in her absence..Dr. Jasper operated on Tucker's back legs to give him a longer quality of life. They all are the most caring and professional. My dogs run to the car when I tell them we are going to see Dr. Patti...doesn't get any better than that.

Had issues with some of the other St. Helens area vets, but those have undergone ownership changes over the years and may be in better hands than they were. Been going here for 7 or 8 years now because they've earned my trust and have been good to my fur family. Prices were fairly comparable to other vets, but do your research because that was a while ago and things may have changed.

My mom is on a limited income so surprises like a sick dog or an emergency like this falls on me. When I explained that they were more than helpful and accommodating by making it as easy as possible on my wallet and still making sure the dog was ok.

Excellent service! We have been going to Midway for nearly 10 years. The veterinarians and all staff are friendly, caring, knowledgeable and genuinely care about you and your pet. They go above and beyond to provide the best care no matter how small or big the problem might be - they have you and your pet’s best interest at heart. We have visited for preventative and emergency care and I am forever thankful for the care our 4 dogs and 2 cats receive. The office is always clean and inviting. Absolutely hands down Midway is the best veterinary hospital in Somerset. Dr. Mullins has been caring for Snickers, Scrappie, Princess, and Moo Moo Kitty forever, Dr. Cosson cares for Brownie (fearful chihuahua) and Peanut, and recently Dr. Prather cared for Snickers in an emergency visit. Both of my dogs love the vets here. The techs are amazing, the vets are amazing, everyone here is great. I had a breakdown about dropping my dog off for surgery. They brought me in a private room and I got to meet with two techs and the vet performing the surgery. They explained everything step by step. They let me see where her kennel was. And even let us come visit right after her surgery. They've been nothing but amazing. And my dogs are my babies. They understood and provided top notch care.

It's an okay place to take your pet. The best upside is the doctor and nurses are wonderful and try there best to help your animal. The biggest downside they have no payment plan program besides if you have good credit, even if the bill is 1 to 200 dollars. Also they could've have at least cleaned my dog bear minimum, after a week we went to see him and i felt like I was watching a commercial for sick and dying dogs in nasty cages and he came out very nasty. But they do do there best I guess tho, besides the extreme price to get your dog well smh........

I’m moving soon and wanted to review them before I move. Been going there for 6 years. First, their prices are beyond reasonable. Never thought I was taken advantage of. Next had 1 occasion where my cat got very sick and I had to use the emergency and weekend services. They were so accommodating and called me often with updates and even let me come in over the weekend on off hours. My cat eventually passed away and they were so compassionate and nice. Second, had 1 emergency situation with my dog eating poison and they were amazing!!!! They were waiting for me when I arrived and took wonderful care of my baby and saved her!!!! I have had several other things as well, and I have always been happy with the care my animals have received. Dr Prather and Dr Mullins loved on and sweet talked my baby just like she was theirs! Thanks for the amazing care over the years! You both are beyond exceptional!

I can't say enough good things about Midway! My sweet fur baby was critical ill due to the gross negligence of another veterinarian. I spoke to Dr Bruce Jasper and he said emphatically you have to get him out of there. He also said you don't have to bring him to us but get him out of there. He was vomiting blood/passing blood also. Midway's team when we walked in with him jumped in and started emergency care. Our little guy was in a death spiral..kidneys, liver were both in the process of shutting down. Dr. Jasper and his team did everything humanly possible. Around the clock care.. hand fed him to get him to take bites. His office / Dr Jasper touched base daily. After 2 days he began to make a turn.. Dr Jasper called me and said Whiskey licked me on my nose this morning "that's as good as it gets for a vet!" Okay I don't know about you but when a doctor says that, it is because he is doing what he loves. Seriously when our babies are sick.. I want someone who cares.. not someone who is doing it for $$$

I will never come back to this clinic. I called in to make an appointment. They told me 4:50. I was pretty excited they could get me in same day. I arrived 10 min early to check in. At 5:05 they had let 4 or 5 other customers back. We asked how much longer and were told we were next in line. At 5:10 I left. I wasn't told I'd be waiting past my appointment time or they squeezed me in and there may be a wait. Nothing. If you make an appointment time for a customer you should abide by it. I am paying $52 for a visit and I have to wait and watch people who arrived after me get helped. No good. Columbia veterinary in cheaper for an office visit and don't make customers wait.

I dog was having seizures and couldn't be moved out of her dog house we had to call the fire department tells us but they did not fall in tears at that was an option to get our dog out so I had to put my dog to sleep because she wouldn't stop having seizures and she had been having seizures for an hour and 45 minutes by the time I was able to get her to them

We've been going to Midway Vet, and Patty Prather for at least 16 years. At different times we have seen all the Veterinarians & everyone has been wonderful to all our pets. We see Patty Prather most often and she is wonderful. She volunteers her time at the local Animal Shelter. We have entrusted all our animals to Patty and the others. They always take time and help us get through the rough patches. Two of our dogs have passed with cancer, one has had an ongoing eye condition. Patty knows we think our pets are furry people & we couldn't ask for a better Vet to look after our pets. Midway Vet is Top of the Line... I highly recommend them & I've lived in different states and brought my pets back to Patty....

If you can get a hold of the staff or if they let you see a vet, the staff is good. I waited in the lobby for an hour to have everyone that arrived after me go in first. I had made an emergency visit, I got so frustrated with them wasting my pets and my time that we left. It made me feel as if my pet was not important. They never communicated why there was such a long wait or they could have told me that they could not fit us in, I could have used that time to go to an emergency vet.

They have kind and caring vets that are helpful to your animal, they have a onsite pharmacy and can do tests such as lab work there, including xrays and surgery. They have a full line of food for sale for your animal. The vets along with office staff are helpful and willing to answer any questions you have. The office is busy with animal owners bring in their pets for urgent and non-urgent problems. Very trusted vets according to the local residence in the area and beyond.

Please don't trust this vet. They just care about the money not the people or the animals that come in. They had me to a point of thinking my cat should be put down for liver and kidney failure even had me pay for her to be put down and brought in. Then two hours after I thought they had already put my cat down I get a phone call asking if I will sign my cat over because an employee would like to adopted her and pay for treatment. At no point in time was money ever a problem for me to save my cats life they told me there was nothing I could do. I picked my cat up and took her to another vet in town and paid for a full exam. My cat does not have liver or kidney failure at all its a bladder infection and she is 100% better now and home with me. They put me trough something no one should have to ever go trough. Please don't trust them when it comes to your loving animals!

Prices are not even remotely affordable. $250 to neuter a 7 month old pup. They charged $11 for a pulse oximeter, which why that’s not included is beyond me. We did happen to save $80 by telling them no to the laser surgery and some other random thing they tried to sell us. And did an annual exam/shots without asking us first when the pup isn’t even a year old to begin with and had JUST been there for his shots 2 months ago. We took our cat there for a potential urinary issue and they would not collect a urine sample and instead sold us a $40 bag of food for him and said this would fix his problem and gave antibiotics. Just crazy. Trying to find a new vet. Will be finding a place to go where I don’t feel like I’m being taken advantage of or constantly trying to be sold something.

Dr Freese and Dr Gold have saved the lives of my dogs, and have been there for me when they were unable to save my dog due to the negligence of a different veterinarian in Portland. If I could give Midway Vet 10 stars instead of 5, I would. It always smells clean in their lobby, and their prices are very fair. I always feel like their support staff, their receptionists, techs, and their vets truly love MY dogs. And they take all the time needed for my dogs' exams. I never have to wait too long for my appts. I really have no complaints. I even board my dogs there when I go on vacation, because I am a Paranoid Dog Mom and I want my dogs to get the Best vet care available when I am gone, in case anything happens to them. Sometimes you have to wait on hold for a long time on their phone before speaking to a human, but that only underlines how many people love them and refuse to go elsewhere! I love you Midway vet!

I have two dogs that tend to get very nervous at the vet. I have been to several vets that don't handle nervous dogs well and are usually very aggressive. This is not the case at Midway the vets and staff are always very calm and understanding and take the time to make the dogs comfortable. One year ago today, during an emergency visit to Midway Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Mullins saved the life of our dog, Holly. Since then she has had multiple health problems but with the continued care by Dr. Hutchison and Dr. Mullins, she is finally doing well. The first time that I came here I brought my dog and he was 13 years old. They were very considerate of him and you could tell they were sympathetic to his pain and they helped him. I brought my two young male dogs to have their shots and one of them was sick. They have treated them very well. They have had their shots, everything they needed and they are reasonably priced. The most important thing is they are kind and loving to the animals. I would recommend them to anybody because they care about the animals that is what is important. I am very happy about the way they have treated my animals and I will be back again. I will recommend them to anybody. If you ask me I've never seen people more caring loving and devoted to the animals! The staff here are very nice and, although there's always a long wait, I've been fairly pleased with the service. They have quite a turnover of vets on staff, which means you don't get much chance to form a relationship with a doctor. I've also found that they're quick to hand out antibiotics for just about every complaint. On my last visit, I saw Dr Campbell and was disappointed in her. When I expressed a viewpoint that was different from hers, she was insulting and condescending, implying that I was relying on hearsay evidence and didn't have the intelligence to do actual research on the issue on my own. I will continue to use this practice as we have few choices in my rural community, but I'll make every effort to avoid Dr Campbell if there's another vet available.

Very nice staff and veterinarians. I actually worked alongside them for a while, and they really care about the animals that they take care of. Appointments are very highly recommended, as work-ins are added to the schedule but may not be put in top priority.

Dr. Bruce Jasper at Midway and I were classmates in grade school and graduated high school together! Not only is he a friend, but a caring and compassionate Vet as well. We are battling a serious illness with one of our doxies so trust is a key element in her care. I recently saw Dr. Mullins at Midway and he went high up on our list as well! I have a large circle of family and friends who use Midway and they all give high marks to their respective Vets. My husband and I are "over the edge" about our dogs and we love the time, care and attention we receive there. Most happy to give Midway Veterinary Hospital 5 stars!

Matthew seems impatient to me, it takes more than five minutes for vets to be ready with multiple customers. These guys have saved my cat's life when another vet-that-shall-not-be-named allowed her to grow an abscess from a racoon bite. They were able to save her and it didn't break the bank either, and my cat is healthy and happy to this day because of them. They were very kind and understanding when my lab passed from cancer as well (he was 14), and they even made a clay imprint of his paw and sent us a handwritten letter to console us when we lost our dog. They're the only clinic I trust my animals to, whether it be for basic preventative care or for emergencies. They have pulled through for me on numerous occasions, and they are so gentle and careful with my animals. I would 100% recommend them.

Took our dog here recently and I will never be returning, not even with a goldfish. The vet we saw was more concerned about running up the bill as high as she could than anything else and she COMPLETELY misdiagnosed our dog's cancer that was blaringly obvious to my second opinion vet at another facility. Five days after our visit (two after our second opinion visit elsewhere) our dog had to be rushed to the emergency vet and was ultimately put down because the cancer was so severe. I have no idea how they didn't see what was so obvious to the two other vets we saw before the end, except (as I suspect) they didn't bother actually examining him. So, thanks Midway, for prescribing antibiotics that made our dog vomit for an entire day when he was already dying of cancer. Great judgement call! -.-
