Last month I had a pet emergency. I called the office after hours & Dr Thorpe, I hope I spelt her name correctly, called right away. She was so sweet and eased some worries. I took my cat in the next morning, he has diabetes. The entire staff was friendly. Dr. Thorpe talked with me for a while & taught me how to take care of him now. I'm eternally greatful to the staff for being wonderful.

We had an 18 year old Senior cat that had been with me his entire life. We knew he was getting fragile. He started acting odd.. stumbling, having trouble moving around the house. He also had an odd look to his right eye and face. We took Skittles to Kentuckiana. The only Dr on call was Purdy. We have been told to avoid him with all our pets and have. We had no choice but to have him look at him. Keep in mind, we had videos of Skittles to easily show his problems and our concern. After looking Skittles over, Purdy said to leave Skittles there for a few days so they can give him i.v.'s due to dehydration and to get Skittles eating again. He will be just fine Purdy said. I stopped in every evening to visit Skittles to let him know I hadent just left him. After the 3rd day I asked the Lady at the counter what the cost was so far. She looked at me with total amazement and said $950. I said what!! She apologized. I couldn't take him home then due to the time and it was too late to let him go and Purdy wasent there. I went in first thing the next morning to pick Skittles up. They had added an additional $350 to the bill. Now were at $1250, I could not believe the cost. 3 days and 4 nights of sitting in a cage, with an i.v. and we were charged $1250. We had just lost Ginger our Golden, and Rusty our Mancoon cat within the past month. Purdy never once went over what the cost would be, bor did he indicate the Skittles was actually dying of natural causes, he kept telling us he was doing great. We saw no change. As soon as we got Skittles home, he had a massive seizure. We rushed him back and met another veterinarian that knew just enough about Skittles to tell us the exact opposite of what Purdy told us, hes old and most likely will not pull through. She also said he had not been eating, although Purdy told us he was eating like a Hawg. 2 weeks later Skittles passed away. I showed the videos to another vet and asked what their thoughts were. She said he was old and obviously dying of old age. It was obvious he purposely took Skittles to price gouge us and get as much money out of us as possible. When I picked Skittles up, the girls at the counter were lost for words and asked me to pay $350 and I did. I have had multiple calls explaining there was no wiggle room on the gouged 3 day $1250 vet bill. They explained they were sending us into collections. It's not the money that is the problem, it's the fact they did not go over the cost prior to admitting Skittles then charged us that ridiculous amount. We are talking to an attorney along with 2 very reputable veterinarians that will confirm Purdy essentially took 3 days away from us that we could have spent with him prior to Skittles passing and charge a totally ridiculous amount of money. Please dont let this happen to you. We have recently adopted a new English Cream, and a little gray cat. We have been to our new veterinarian and each visit, they go over in detail what the checkup visits would be. We absolutely love them!! Just be careful and ask for prices in advance. They can and will try to break the bank.

Very friendly clean and seem to enjoy their work great with your pets! A little high but I guess no more than the others.would recommend, to everyone!

The staff is extremely friendly! But that doesn’t help when they keep lying to you about prices. The last time we took our boi they were super helpful and even gave us a coupon for some of his medicine. They told us that it was about time for his castration and said it’s gonna be $50 we get there today and it’s $250. They said we could upgrade our paw plan to the $45 a month one which is $20 more than the one we have and all that would’ve done is make it $195.

Well it be nice if some are nicer

I have had to unfortunetly use the cremation services twice in the last few years and it has been a blessing. The pawprint that they provide you with the remains means so much to me. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for caring for my babies after they are gone.

Despite having a bad experience here over two decades ago, I had to take my dog here for a dental procedure. Things have changed over the years, and they've gotten a LOT better at taking care of pets and working with their owners.

Receptionist was not very friendly. I got the impression she was annoyed, I don't know why, I was friendly to her. Customer service is very important....I won't be going back. The rest of the staff were friendly and professional.

Vicki Spencer

Tammy Fulkerson

I had Frankie put down this afternoon. Not the hardest thing I've ever done but right up there. Last night when he went out, he could barely make it back up the steps. He woofed and whined all night. I had always said when he seemed to be in pain it was time. He had a little snack of ham and I brushed him until the vet came. The vet from Kentuckiana was everything I would have wanted - kind, considerate and efficient.

Kevin Kirk

Very friendly and caring staff!

Very unhappy experience. Grumpy receptionist, waiting room full of animals, and they asked me to restrain my dog while they get her temperature, which did not go well. My dog is very submissive and surrenders very quickly and she was attacked and left bleeding by an aggressive dog in the waiting room. I DO NOT recommend this place.

Terri Wilkerson

This a wonderful place to your fur babies... everyone there... knows their stuff .... my experience with my Roxi Bear

Joyce Marret

They were wonderful people working there

Really nice. Took great care of my dog

Right now the place is riddled with Kennel Cough, I had left my dog there this past weekend and he had gotten sick just being there for one night, so as of now, I would say that it would be unsafe to take your animal to be boarded. The plus side is, as soon as I called and told them about my dog and concerns they were about to give me an antibiotic and cough suppressant free of charge, which was very helpful and saved me however much those medications are worth and they showed instant concern and worry and let me know there was a cough going around.

Matt Lusk

friendly and always take good care of our pets. we also use there boarding service for one of our dogs when we go out of town. he is a weiner dog that suffered a back injury that led to surgerey so he needs a little more care then our dog sitter can handle so we board him here when we go out of town and they take great care of him.

Very compassionate and caring. We had to euthanize our ferret Hammy. Our normal vet was not able to get us in until several hours later in the day. I called around and Kentuckiana was the only place that told me to go ahead and bring him in so he wasn't suffering any longer than he needed to be. The whole staff was very sympathetic and exceptional during our entire time there. A big thank you from our family to the entire staff!!

I didn't give 5 stars because I only used the grooming side. The staff was polite and the groomer was super nice. I was told the grooming wouldn't be over $47 and had to pay $58 so I'm not sure what happened there. Either way the dog looked and smelled good

Matt Howard

We have good results when we take our dog to Kentuckiana for grooming or vet checks. Reasonable price and the staff members are friendly and love animals.

I really liked Emma's dr she was so good about takeing the time to talk to Emma and even gave her a treat of peanut butter to help Emma feel comfortable with her since anybody in dr uniform Emma thinks of having one of those bad shots with them lol

I called and asked them if I could make payments cause my cat is dying and they don't care all they care about is money not a life of a animal. They are sad and heartless people.

Our cat, Tucker, was hit by a car in Whitesville early this morning. Dr. Purdy was the ONLY Vet in the Owensboro area that responded to our emergency call! Our little Tucker had a concussion and a break in his lower jaw that had to be fixed. Right away, Dr. Purdy met us with an open door BEFORE they even were open. He examined Tucker quickly and gave him a shot for pain. After some x-rays and further exams, Dr. Purdy talked with us about his injuries and kept him for further observation and to fix his jaw later when he stabilized. He also wanted to further assess his concussion and nerve damage in his left leg. Our little guy is a very smart and beloved cat by us and our Grandson, Nicholas, WHO found him as a baby at our back door in April of 2015. We are SO very grateful for the kind reception and great level of care by Dr. Purdy and his team. It was our first time with KAC, but it will now be our "go-to" vet clinic after seeing how MUCH they really CARE about our beloved little friends. Thanks to ALL the KAC Team for such professional care!

They are really great with our 102 lb. black lab

Recently, my family and I adopted a dog. He needed to be neutered, vaccinated, micro chipped, and to have some other tests done to ensure that he is healthy. They treated our dog so kindly and treated my son and me with respect. Everyone, from Beth up front to the two vet techs to Dr. Basham, made this experience a five-star experience. It is obvious they love animals and appreciate their customers. This is not our first experience with them. About a year ago we had a cat with feline leukemia that had to be euthanized. They were kind and understanding then as well. I am just very impressed.

I took my dog in for a routine tooth cleaning and when I picked him up they told me they extracted a cainine! They didn't call to let me know or anything. They said it wasn't even infected. The tooth broke about seven years ago and we've been keeping an eye on it and all they were supposed to do was a cleaning and look at the tooth. There was also a major mis communication with the insurance plan they sold me. I don't recommend taking your pets here.

J Hinson

They love our pets and give good recommendations for care.

People make me sick! There is a stray animal that has been in the woods on my property line. I sat out there for an hour today and got it to come to me and fed it. It was then so sweet and loving on me! I noticed it was very skinny, and had sores around its head. I would love to take care of it, but because I have small children, I am concerned about the sores. I need to have it looked at, but I am so broke right now. So, I called this clinic to ask if the vet would offer a discount for an exam (not free), so that this animal could be cared for. I didn't ask for a certain amount, just a discount for the poor thing to be looked at and have a chance, because I really don't have much $ at all right now. I was told no discount at all. I then said that I had thought of becomming a vet as a child because I loved and wanted to care for animals, but every vet I'm calling doesn't seem to care at all. I said, it's just like a homeless person hungry on the street, and another human passing by and not caring! She told me, "Well you can bring it in and we can put it down for you". What?!! Just kill it huh!! Just murder the living being, because you are too wickedly greedy to sacrifice $10 or $20 so it can be loved!! Disgusting! P.s. I have come to the conclusion through research and advice, that it is likely ringworm. So, according to the vets office, the remedy for ringworm is murder!

Dr. Boarman is an excellent Vet & properly helped diagnose our husky when her lung collapsed! Avoid Dr.Purdy though! Our dog would be dead if we had listened to him...told us she injured her back, & sent us home with an anti-inflammatory drug! Shameful! He assumes & undertreats pet's. They are a bit expensive too. The good point is that they do take walk-ins daily.
