We started going to Hartland Park Animal Hospital after my dog had received a terrible injury to his leg. Dr. Cundiff was recommended to us by a friend (who happens to be a vet tech too!). He saved my dogs life and I will forever be grateful. We have taken all 5 of our dogs to him ever since and have been very happy with everything! Hartland Park Animal Hospital has the most caring, professional staff I have ever come into contact with. They want make sure you understand everything throughout the appointment, whether it is just a routine exam or a worrisome appointment. My dog had his first seizure and I came in very anxious. The staff very kindly greeted my pup and I. During the exam, the vet tech's were very gentle with my anxious dog and made sure I knew what was going on throughout the appointment. When Dr. Cundiff came in to examine my dog, he also handled my dog very gently and explained everything to me. I knew what he was checking for and why. He also took the time to ease my fears after having to get an EKG for my dog's heart as well as blood work on top of the normal exam. He did not have to come back to talk through everything with me to make me feel a little bit better before we left, but he is such a compassionate vet to take that extra time on me and my dog. I have always recommended this vet to everyone I know, but after such a positive experience with this clinic after a traumatic event with my dog, I feel like I needed to write this review to let even strangers know how amazing this place is. I drive 30 minutes out of my way just to come to this specific vet. I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else!

Dr. Cundiff and staff have been AMAZING since the beginning. We have a 3 year old Chihuahua and 2 cats and every time we visit we are delighted to be back because of the care, and enthusiasm that they give each person and pet. All of our animals have received great routine, and emergency care here and our dog loves seeing his vet! I highly recommend them as a whole! We drive 30 minutes each time and it is worth it!

Dr. Cundiff and his staff are knowledgeable, professional, and very friendly. We’ve taken our cat, Faraday, there for several years and all diagnoses have been spot-on. For example, our cat was experiencing extreme, painful redness and fur loss around her eyes and ears. They discovered that she was allergic to certain foods (including so-called “natural” cat foods) that were causing an allergic reaction. A (real), prescriptive hydrolized food was recommended and almost immediately the symptoms stopped. We were even able to setup a delivery of her food every few weeks to our house! Feel safe and confident.

If you are reading this and searching for a good, trustworthy vet, go ahead and stop searching because this is the place. We are so lucky why found this place and couldn’t be happier with HPAH. Dr. Cundiff is hands down the best vet we have ever had. Staff is always amazing, friendly, and accommodating as well. We have three dogs and a cat currently and had another cat that passed away fairly recently, all of which have been to Dr Cundiff at some point. Dr. Cundiff always goes over his thought process and detail with you and seeks your opinion on treatment (something very rare in the various vets we have had experience with). He also goes over different treatment options and cost of visit PRIOR to doing anything, which again is rare in our experience. Very personable and trustworthy in my opinion and we hope he stays around for a very long time.

Will drive from Chicago to see Dr Cundiff!! Years ago, my female boxer was having fainting issues, Dr. Cundiff diagnosed her with a heart issue and some meds that cost less than $10 a month. He was able to treat this issue without costing me an arm and leg. I was able to get 4 more years with my sweet girl and I contribute this to his care. He was able to tell me what to expect in terms of her prognosis and let me know where to draw the end line when it approaches. Also, because she was so nervous each time she came into the vet, he kindly consulted over the phone multiple times in order to not escalate her health issues. At this time, he was also caring for my male boxer who had minor issues, a few bumps here and there and some mouth issues. After moving to Chicago a few years later a vet here recommended a growth removal costing approx 3k. After multiple unfortunate situations with the Chicago vet and realizing that no one is giving an honest opinion here related to veterinary care, brought my old dog back to Ky to see Dr. Cundiff! Dr. Cundiff actually recommended no intervention based on the situation because "It wouldnt be good for my dog." Now, there aren't many vets who would ever say this....... Most are thinking about what would be good for their bank accounts!!! Dr. Cundiff is honest, kind and treats his clients with respect. His knowledge is phenomenal and if he doesnt know the answer, he will seek consultation. His prices are fair and reasonable. I wish I could duplicate his practice and move it to Chicago!!

i WOULD NOT recommend this hospital to ANYONE. My dog was treated like a number, rushed in and out. I paid $140 for no diagnosis and no treatment for my dogs issue. The very next day, I had to take him to another vet in town which shed even more light on how Hartland animal hospital does not take pets best interest into consideration.

I am not one to generally write reviews but in this case I feel it's important to share my experience so that someone who is looking for the "total veterinarian" can consider taking their pet to Hartland Parkway Animal Hospital. I have a special needs cat, Gracie, who contracted a rare fungal infection harbored in her eyes causing her to go blind. I was in need of finding a vet who would be willing to work with us to treat her. (My previous vet sent me to a specialist after telling me there was nothing more he could do for her.) A friend of mine recommended Dr. Cundiff at Hartland Parkway Animal Hospital. Dr. Cundiff actually embraced the challenge! He started by utilizing a forum accessed by veterinarians internationally and presented Gracie's case. Using his knowledge and information gathered from the forum Dr. Cundiff narrowed down which antifungal medication would be the most effective and formulated a treatment plan and treatment team enlisting the help of an ophthalmologist. Though Gracie's past three years have been difficult, as a pet owner it was comforting and reassuring to have Dr. Cundiff guide her care. I am not sure Gracie would still be alive today without it and I am happy to report she is currently thriving! Dr. Cundiff genuinely cares about his patients-treating them as if they were his own pet and willing to go the extra mile to provide the best treatment possible. He has surrounded himself with vet techs and staff who share his same concern and are responsive and caring when interacting with them. At Hartland Parkway Hospital the approach does not come across as being focused on turning a profit but one that tries to offer the best, most cost efficient and effective care possible. There were never any surprises as to costs for care as I was always given treatment and cost options upfront. I was the one to decide which route cost-wise was the way to go. It took Gracie's unique situation to discover that a true test of a veterinarian is more than having someone you take your pet to once a year for an exam and vaccinations but one who will respond and step up when you have an emergency or have an animal that has chronic needs or requires special care. I could cite additional examples of ways Dr. Cundiff and his staff have shown commitment to care for both of my cats but my review is already way too long! As a guardian of two cats, I could not be more satisfied and thankful for the care we have received at Hartland Parkway Animal Hospital!!
