Interesting doesn't begin to describe this tour! Sarah, our guide, was so nice and knowledgeable. You can tell how much she and the entire staff Cate about their patients. No surgery going on when I was there but plenty to see, and Sarah did an excellent job explaining what happens. I learned about quarantine, surgery, the medical side, and was surprised to learn there is even a NICU! If you want to round out your knowledge of horse country you must see Hagyard - I learned so much!

today my wife and i toured the facility with Mrs Sarah Smith. Sarah was outstanding guide explaining the history , areas of expertise, and showing us the Equine Medical Institute. we viewed many of the barns , observed a surgery , viewed horses in preop and recovery. visited the horses for their blood blank. My family have been involved with horses for many years and believed we had a fair knowledge until today. Sarah explained in such detail i believe i got a real education.

First Class Operation! My wife and I recently had the opportunity to tour the Hagyard Equine Medical Facility, what a show place. We were able to view a leg surgery up close and personal and speak to the Veterinarian as he performed the surgery. Take the time and tour this facility, it's an eye opener to modern equine medicine. I watched surgery being performed on a horses leg via a monitor!! I was amazed and as an animal lover and owning 3 horses of my own, I wanted to apply for a nursing position as I had performed side by side with other drs. What better way of being a nurse combining it with love of horses!! Unfortunately my husband and I separated & my dream did not come to fruition. I did the next best thing, I moved to Montana. But not having that opportunity will haunt me til the end of time!
