They took very good care of us in an extremely difficult time!

We had a visit today to the Emergency Room for our Boxer puppy. Everyone was so nice starting with the front desk. They were very nice and took us back to a room right away. A tech came in the room to see us (Jen) who was very nice and sweet to our puppy. She gathered all the information on our puppy’s symptoms and went to discuss that with Dr. Kluger. Dr. Kluger was awesome!! She was great with our puppy. Did some bloodwork and some subcutaneous fluids and sent her home with antibiotics. We are so happy we took her there despite some of the negative reviews because everyone was so nice and she received excellent care for her severe dehydration and infection. I would definitely recommend them!! Terry G.

I brought my cat for an emergency visit one night. Long story short, the front desk staff was great, and the cost was about what I would have paid at my regular vet. However, the doctor was terrible. He was irritated that my cat was "aggressive" which to be honest, would you be happy getting an enema? They had to sedate him - ok that's fine, my regular vet does this too (it's reoccurring issue with the cat) and it's no big deal yet he went out of his way to make me feel bad that my cat was in pain and distressed and how much of an issue it was for him to work on my cat. I had to remind him to show me the xray of him, and they refused to keep him overnight. The nurse wasn't bad, but I could tell she didn't care to work with this doctor. Who by the way won't make eye contact when he talks to you either. He's not an animal person.. Who goes around getting mad at parrots for talking and making bird sounds?

kathy haubner

Wish they had a plan for lower class ppl. Bc there animal is so very important to them.

Kourtney Cranfill

Dr. Stephanie and all of the friendly staff have always been great with my dog and I. After a long time of unanswered questions and a wrong diagnosis from a previous vet, we finally got the answers and proper treatment for my dog. I can't say enough good things about GCVS.

Money hungry vet business tbat takes advantage of people who need a vet during the nighttime hours. It was 15-20 minutes before we saw the vet only after we proved we could pay for their services. Stupid us even went back the next nite to get some help for our Sadie. We were told Sadie had an ear infection however NO ONE LOOKED IN HER EARS. Such a shame.

My dog was attacked by 2 pitbulls and chewed up pretty bad. Greater Cincinnati Veterinary clinic refused to treat him without a lot of money up front. They're never getting my business.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE I WILL NEVER BRING MY CAT HERE AGAIN THIS PLACE IS A JOKE

Mike Trough

Stay clear of this place.....although Joe Bruner is nice to your face he does not have you or your pets best interest at heart. He is only after your money. His follow-up is horrible and he will NOT return your calls. My vet says that he seldom if ever gets records from the specialty clinic and refuses to use them any longer. I paid for a service and only received a portion of what I paid for. My vet says he has heard these statements time and time again with these people. In fact he says that there have been multiple complaints with the Vet Board involving Joe Bruner. When my cat did not respond to treatment he was no where to be found.....I am considering legal action. Look elsewhere for care; MedVet, Cheryl Harris, CARE center etc.

Annette Klein

Super nice. Worked with me on price. Dog is doing great.

This is a long overdue review of a HORRIBLE place. I wish I could say they have changed, but the same sorry excuse for a vet is still there so I highly doubt it. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. I took my cat on a Sunday when my regular vet was closed. He was vomiting a lot, not eating, and lethargic. He has been known to try to eat string and although very careful to make sure none is left out for him to get to, I was worried he may have ingested some. After being placed in a room I waited over three hours for a vet to even look at him. They decided he should be kept overnight for IV fluids and to have the specialist, Dr. Bruner, look at him the next day. This so called specialist wound up keeping my cat there for 13 days. He scoped to check for string or foreign objects and when that was negative started running other tests. He ran multiple tests and labs for anything that may be related to the intestinal system and started him on various different appetite stimulants. All tests and labs always came back normal. During this time, I went to visit my cat every single day. It made me mad that when they brought him into the room he always appeared dirty and unkempt. The thing that made me furious though, is that during all of this so called important testing I kept questioning the fact that I noticed green snot crusted on his nasal area and he sounded congested. I asked numerous times if it is possible that he had a bad respiratory infection causing the symptoms and was always told no. I was looked at as if I was an idiot for even suggesting this, even though I am an RN who frequently still had my scrubs and badge on when I would come visit him. Finally on the 13th day Dr. Bruner started talking about maybe having to euthanize him. At that point, I said no and insisted on just taking him home instead. I did not plan on actually taking him home, but instead to MedVet in Cincinnati. I just did not want to tell them that because I feared they would not release him to me. I paid their ridiculous bill of over $3500 and walked out with my cat. Drove him immediately to MedVet where I waited less than an hour to be seen. I discussed with the two vets who came to examine him everything that had gone on and my concerns over it simply being an untreated respiratory infection. They examined him and immediately agreed it was a severe upper respiratory infection. They started fluids, antibiotics, and kept him overnight. He was able to come home with me the next day. Over three years later I am happy to say my cat is still alive and well thanks to MedVet. Had I left the decision to these idiots he would be dead.

I’ve never wrote a review for anything, but these people are crooks. Don’t count on them to care about anything but ripping you off for every dime they can get from you. They don’t care about animals. I’m trying not to be mean but these people don’t deserve to be vets.

Gilbert Souder

Such a good place.they took care of Molly

Ryan Hopkins

Our lab had 2 abdominal surgeries in 3 days to remove Gillette razor blades that she had eaten when she got in the trash. She stayed in the hospital for 7 days receiving IV medicine for her to heal. I cannot day enough good things about both the physicians and staff here at the wilder facility. Thanks to all of you my best friend is home resting happy and healthy.

John Mann

Took my dog there one night and doctor was not available for three hours. Call ahead first.

Would rate 0 if I could! Wouldn’t bring a sewer rat here for care. Cat had bit me as well as my daughter in law, son, and scratched his friend. We were told to take her to urgent care as soon as possible to seek advice in concern for rabies (our well being was a concern for us). We called first to make sure the doctor we wished too see was there. She was with a client and would call us back. Never called back. They finally drove there to see the doctor. Receptionist had a bad attitude problem. Tattoos didn’t make her look any more professional either (just my opinion). Doctor wouldn’t come to see her. Vet tech wouldn’t see her. Only the assistant receptionist was apparently the little messenger to talk to the doctor and send a reply to my daughter in law. Said if she wasn’t bit by a rabid animal, the cat probably didn’t have rabies, however there is a slight possibility she could have contracted it from there if the tools or table was not properly cleaned. LOL. A DEAD CAT IS ONE THING BUT DEAD PEOPLE IS ANOTHER. More less taken as a joke. More concerned with money, which she was planning on paying

Rachel Sherrick

I took my rat here because I noticed a large tumor on the side of his face and I was fearing the worst. Well the process took a while- understandable, you go by severity. Every time I asked about my rat, I was told there were people ahead of me, by the extremely rude receptionist. I understood there were people ahead of me, but they never told me when they put him under. The tumor ended up being an infection that they tried to remove. I took him to my vet last week- they didn't even give me the right medicine for my guy! They have him cat and dog medicine! (My vet said that's why he has to have surgery again on Monday, because they didn't get all of the infection AND he didn't even get the right medicine!) I would only come here for the absolute my pet is dying emergency. Other than that, go to the Hebron Animal Hospital. They're great and have 2 small animal/rodent specialists!

Nancy Lynne Davis

Very caring and compassionate.

Jessica Kremer

We were able to take our dog in on the weekend when no appointments were available at our normal vet. The staff was friendly and professional. We were shown a room right away, and, although we did have a long wait due to emergencies coming in, the staff checked on frequently. After the visit, the results were forwarded to our regular vet.

Paul Dumont

Nice people. However, we discovered fleas a few days after taking our cat here. Can't be sure but we have never had a flea problem before and these are indoor cats. If you take your pet here strongly suggest you immediately bathe them afterwards.

Bill Williamson

The service was ok ,but they were more concerned about getting paid in advance than taking care of my dogs. One of my dogs died and i got very little information why, the cause other than a guess! They were also extremely high priced for the services rendered. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Shannon Culp

Awesome team very knowledgeable!

Emily Fox

My dog was hit by a car and we waited for 1hr+ for a doctor to come in and examine him. Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable.

Jennie S

I am absolutely impresses with the knowledge and education these specialists and surgeons provided me. For over a year my dog dealt with incompetent vets and I was finally referred here. They sat with me at my first initial visit for over 2 hrs explaining what was going on with my dog. My dog ended up having to have surgery and they put all my cares and concerns at ease. They were thorough, competent and so loving toward me and my pet. I highly recommend.

JamesCatsakis

Took my dog there last night for an emergency visit. Before we left a quick Google search told me what was wrong. When we arrived at the vet he said that we were wrong. That he just need 2 steroids shots and some pain meds. That didn't fix the problem because we were right from the beginning. The only thing we were wrong about was where we took our pet. This won't be a mistake I'll make again.

I had a horrible week that landed me here. My fur baby Gabe has been a good boy since I adopted him over ten years ago now it was our turn to make him better. facing the possibility of cancer and a large unknown?? Tumor from the liver or spleen we met Dr Hodge. We were terrified but we made the appointment than read poor reviews... We talked she gave us time showed us she cared and answered questions not only about my Dog but regarding her employer.im so glad we went with her care. She gave me the only thing I wanted for Christmas my same old Blue Heeler. His spleen and tumor were removed it was huge cantaloupe size but he pulled through. She called everyday to give us updates we vsuited and called to ,while he was there for almost 4 days.My dog is gentle in nature and was treated very kindly, I can’t thank you enough Dr Hodge your amazing ,and kind and compassionate, please never stop doing your great work

Tracy Tattershall

I waited for almost 2 hours before anyone even came in the room. My dog got sick all over the room and I cleaned it up. I even told receptionist and they ignore me. Also the lights went out in the room , then when someone finally came in dr thought it could be tummy issue but be safe do X-ray Since he was a puppy and got into stuff.. It was going to cost 360 Now if my dog was really that sick and needed a X-ray would they really make the dog sit for 2 hours ? No way would I ever leave a dog in their care, I would worry they would forget about the dog.! Also the reciptionist Jessica did not smile , or even act friendly! Your receptionist should at least pretend she likes her job. Go to Cincinnati for your next emergency

Doug Crabtree

We took. Our 15 month old dog here.. They told is he had brain trauma. And needed to have cat scan mri and x rays. Which. Would. Have cost thousands and needed to be paid that day.. After hours of searching my wife found out he had a ear issue.. The doctors. Will not release the info from the test.. Leaving us helpless.. They .are

Jami Stevens

Was told by MedVet in Cincinnati that they basically brain damaged my cat. I was advised to contact the health department as well as animal control and report them. I did so and was told by animal control to not take pets there for any reason. They’re better off to pass away from whatever reason at home, because Wilder just makes them suffer more. They probably won’t be in business much longer from what other vets have told me.

I took my dog to Dr. Joe Bruner because I was concerned about dialated cardiomyopathy from feeding her grain-free food. Dr. Bruner was very well versed on this issue and explained things so well. He recommended an echocardiogram. Before they did the echo, I was told what the charges would be. He carefully explained the results to me immediately after the echo and made recommendations. I so appreciate his professionalism and the concern he showed for my dog. Everything about the visit was great. Absolutely no complaints. Thank you Dr. Joe Bruner & staff!!

Sadly Mr. Cheesecake didn't make it. However I believe the staff did everything they could to save our cat. They called during the night and early morning several times to keep us informed about his condition. They were honest about his prognosis. When they knew there was nothing else that could be done for him. Even though our cat died. I believe they did all they could to save him. I'm thankful he was in their caring hands when he past. Our cat developed blood clots that went to his brain. They were a side effect of his tumor and infection. They treated the infection and tumor successfully, he was recovering well until he developed blood clots that made recovery impossible. They were honest and let us know it was best for him to let him go. The blood clots were not something that was treatable and they were very painfully. The doctor took the time to explain everything that happened and answered all of our question It was devastating to hear he took a turn. When two hours earlier he was recovering well. They did what was in the best interest of our cat. It's hard to make life deciding decisions. No one has a crystal ball, you want to wish for the best but you need a vet to be honest about the outcome you can expect. They gave us the tough news no one wants to hear. They helped us make the tough decision to let him go. Mr. Cheesecake was losing his battle to survive they didn't prolong his suffering and they didn't give us false hope in order to collect more money. They did what was best for our cat.

Very friendly, very helpful, caring, and knowledgeable. Took excellent care of Ecko!

DEFEATER

If I could give 0 stars I would. Worst experience I've ever had in my life I suffer post traumatic stress because of this and the inability and inaction of the staff here. They don't care about your pet at all. All they care about is sucking the most money they can out of you before your pet dies. I recommend no one go to this place if your pet is in need of emergency help.

Hayden Storm

They really helped me in my time of need

Fast, Friendly service

Great place to take your pet they have the best care

Matthew Cullinan

Good that it's open after hours, but aftercare is horrendous.

The doctor on duty at night is the least compassionate person i had ever dealt with. My dog can barely breath and she’s taking her time even coming into the room and doesn’t even touch my dog. Like she didn’t put her hands on my dog. How can I be charged for an exam when the actual doctor did not examine (or even touch) my animal? I’ve been a long time customer here and I’ve always liked Dr Bruner but the lady doctor working at night is awful. And as much as I’d rather have a smart doctor that cares about my pet than a friendly doctor that doesn’t know what they’re doing, saying hello and making worried pet parents feel more at ease can go a long way.

I took my cat here for an ultrasound (EKG) of his heart at the half-hearted recommendation of his primary care prior to dental work. Said cat is 8 years old and has had a heart murmur his entire life, and has had one prior EKG in Quakertown, PA. I read the reviews prior to taking him here thinking "oh, it can't be that bad." Wrong. Firstly, they charged me $90 for a "office call and examination". I literally just wanted the imaging of his heart. Secondly, they shaved part of him and left him wet. Thirdly, I was expecting an actual report from the doctor, considering that that is the level of care I had previously. Nope; I got a "I'll call you tomorrow after I've had a chance to review the results." Uh, were you not there for the test? Because I wasn't. They just whisked him away, shaved him, and brought me back a trembling, partly shaved, damp cat. They looked at me like I was a terrible pet owner because my cat is not on meds for his heart (he's fine, it doesn't cause him problems), because I feed him storebrand food (it's high quality, he has dietary restrictions and it doesn't cause him to projectile vomit), and because he's overweight (so he could stand to lose a pound or two, but who couldn't?). Then proceeded to treat him in what I consider a sub-par fashion. The one nice thing they did was the vet tech spoke softly and put him down in front of me gently after his test. Additionally, the front office was generally rude and seemed to be bothered by having to do their jobs. My primary care vet told me that in case of real emergency, to just keep driving to MedVet. I'll be doing that from now on.

The staff were amazing! Our pup unexpectedly passed away at home on Saturday. Our route vet was closed for the weekend, so I contacted the staff in Wilder regarding cremation. The staff were very supportive and sympathetic to our situation and went above and beyond to assist us, answering all our questions and ensuring we received the best care. They went above and beyond and we are so thankful for their care and exceptional customer service. Each staff we encountered provided their sympathy, which meant so much to us as we said our final goodbyes.

If I could give one star I would. I took my pitbull here after he cut his paw on glass. The vet tech was extremely unprofessional and made my husband and I both very uncomfortable right away. The vet was nice when she came in the room. They took my dog to the back which is literally 3 rooms away with a swinging door that has a window you can see in. I heard someone screaming so I walked to the door and they were yelling at my dog! Loud enough to get my attention from the other end of the hall. I stood and watched and heard someone say get a muzzle you never know with this type! I assume because he is a pitbull. I understand needing to muzzle but under no circumstances is it necessary or okay to SCREAM or yell at someone’s pet. He’s injured obviously in pain, scared and doesn’t know you. Why would you yell at him? If you need help let the owner know. I was FURIOUS. When they finally brought him back to me the tech said, “two or three staples. See your regular vet on tuesday. Keep the bag in his paw when he goes out. Checkout up there”. Excuse me... two or three? Which is it? AND WHY DOES MY DOG HAVE BLOOD ON HIS FACE!? You don’t know because you were too busy yelling at him. Totally unprofessional, cold and disgusting. Don’t take your pet here.

Amazing specialist vets.

This may be a bit of a unfair rating, but my dog was sick, i called in the middle of the night and the staff there basically told me like "dont forget ur check book we will not do anything to your animal without money" This is understandble i guess, however i really think they should kinda just let you come and then explain the options there. I also felt they were a bit pricey. I could be wrong about that but, they tried to charge me like 70 bucks for a shot of h20 under the skin. I denied it and they did it for free , I think my dog wasn dehydrated and because they did the water shot for free and had some sense of compassion 3 stars , without that this rating would have been 2 stars.

I wouldn't give this place one star i wouldnt give this place the satisfaction of even googling their name worst service ever all they care about is money!! Their "exam" was a doctor coming in to tell us the options for what we could do about how my dog looked he didnt examin my animal and they threatened to call the cops if we did not pay the exam fee but yet they did not examin my dog like i said before.. but my fiance scared paid the money even though we felt it wasnt right i would never ever recommend this place they are ridiculous

Kimberly Moore

They saved our cats life. We had no warning and she was going quickly. They acted fast and with compassion. A week hospital stay and 2 blood transfusions later she came home and continues to improve. We cannot thank them enough!

Paula Warrick

Veterinarian was really nice . Her name was Stephanie . Prices are pretty much double what your regular veterinarian charges , but they are upfront about it. It is a 24 hour Emergency room for your animals, so it's expected. Don't like to pay those prices , but my animals are like my kids..Brought in my dog because her leg swollen about 4 times regular size . My normal veterinarian comes to my home because we have 5 animals so he gives all shots , etc at one time. ,But he usually takes a few days before he gets here if not longer. I felt she needed to get this taken care of today because it's obviously infection of some sort. That's only reason I came here. Dog is getting x-ray and blood work at this moment. Will update once I get diagnoses and get my girl home. UPDATE**** The swelling in our dogs leg went down within a couple days with the antibiotic and rimadol. She apparently has arthritis in her back legs , but still didn't find what caused the swelling. The antibiotic cured it though and we are just happy she was back to normal within a few days . The veterinarian had told us that the costs of exrays and blood test were probably twice the amount we would pay to a regular veterinary clinic , but we didn't really care about the costs . The way we figured it., We were already there and might as well do it and get it over with instead of spending another 1/2 day in a vets office and more aggrivation. This dog HATES car rides and she isn't a little dog. So worth it , in my opinion! Expensive , but well worth taking care of our girl and getting her out of pain ..

The receptionist was not professional. The vet went to get some information for us and the receptionist got in the room and yelled at us "you have to check out now".

I am so incensed at this clinic right now. My sister and her family lost their precious family member this weekend in the so called "care of" this clinic. Jack went in very weak and with a rapid heart-beat. The doctor did some tests, when asked about the specifics my sister was told they would give the information to their primary veterinarian on Monday. He was going to stay for fluids. About 8 PM, one of the doctors called to report things were going well, better at least, temperature was down, etc. Around midnight the vet called again to say Jack was gone. He did not give a reason as to what had happened. The vet did not offer a necropsy, instead told them that they would put him in the freezer so they could decide about cremation. Seriously, the lack of compassion. Then, today a day afterwards, they call to demand payment. Jack was 11 years old, it might have been his time. But the lack of empathy and concern for their precious family member is unforgiveable. This is their first family pet, Jack has been around for 11 years with three children. To treat customers in this fashion is unthinkable. I work at a veterinarian clinic in another state and I can tell you the information we received about this clinic is appalling.

GCVS (Greater Cincinnati Veterinary Specialty) Is One Of The Best Specialty And Emergency Services Provided.!! The Doctors Are Awesome As Well As All Other Staff. When I Was In Need Of ER Services Not Only Where The Very Caring But They Where Very Helpful. Reading Some Of These Reports I Can Not Even Begin To Believe That We Went To The Same Place. I Would Even Go As Far As Saying That Those Reports Are False And Malicious. So If You Are Ever In Need Of Services Please Know That GCVS With Take Good Care Of Not Only Your Pet But You.

On Labor Day Monday, September 4, my husband and I woke up to find that our furbaby dog, Libby, had gotten extremely sick overnight. We’d never had an emergency vet need so I had to search the internet for a 24-hour veterinary service, and came upon Greater Cincinnati Veterinary Services. I brought Libby in on Monday morning at 10:00 am and was greeted at the door by a staff member, who took me into a room immediately. We had to wait for a doctor because there was a critical animal need in another room, but staff members came in numerous times to check on us, give us updates, and make sure Libby was comfortable. Libby was still throwing up and having bloody bowel explosions, but I felt comfortable waiting because of the constant check-ins. After Libby’s diagnosis and treatment plan was reviewed with me, along with explanations of future recurring illnesses and consideration of her existing medical history, my husband and I made the impossibly unbearable decision to stop Libby’s suffering and have her cross the rainbow bridge. I have to tell you how wonderful Dr. Rumboll and your staff were for the entire four-to-five hours we were there. Their compassion, care, knowledge, and sympathy were amazing. I have never experienced the heart wrenching decision that we had to make on Monday, but I know that without Dr. Rumboll and the staff that was with us, it would have been so much more difficult. They truly made a horrible situation just a little bit better. Thank you for having such wonderful and loving staff members. They are to be commended. Never did I feel rushed, pushed into a decision, uninformed, or judged. They knew exactly what to say and do to help me through this traumatic experience, and I will be forever grateful.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE IF YOU WANT TO SEE THEM ALIVE AGAIN.

Robert Lanham

Took our Frenchie to have a "c-section" to remove 4 beautiful pups. They took our Luna back to soon be a proud little momma. They put her under, a sick dog that needed to be euthanized came in. They left her under and went to complete the euthanization. When they returned and removed the pups "ALL" pups had heart beats, but not breathing. ALLLLLL OF THEM. They worked them but all died, all of them died due to the time of being put up. PLEEEEEEEASE do not take your dog/puppies here. Please !!!!# horrible absolutely horrible!

Julie Edwards

Never ever go here. Drive to red bank rd pet emergency in Cincinnati. IMO the people here care more about money than animals.

Update on previous 5-star review: My husband and I found a stray cat and took it in to get it looked at (with plans of keeping it). We were very rudely turned away at the front desk and told they don't take strays. We explained that we would foster the cat or keep it ourselves and we're going to pay for the services, but we're told that's the policy, and then the lady at the desk sat down and started writing and then never looked back up again. We asked if there was somewhere else we could take her and without looking up she said "not sure" as if we we had just brought cat AIDS into their office. We just kind of faded out the front door, shocked at how rude this person was. Having a policy is fine, but if you're a place that loves animals, don't just turn away one in need without so much as a suggestion for another place to check out. There's just no reason to ever be that rude to another animal, let alone two humans! I was shocked to see the bad reviews for this vet- it's by far the best experience at a veterinarian I've ever had. Maybe it's recently changed, or maybe it's a matter of the doctor you get, but my one year old collie mix had an FHO surgery on her right leg and the surgery went very well, she's healing well and the care we've received has been outstanding. The quote I received here was about 70% of what medvet was going to charge for the same operation. The total actually ended up being slightly cheaper than the quote. When my dog's bandage came off and I saw the wound for the first time, I was concerned it was infected so I called the office. I talked to the emergency vet since it was around 9pm. He looked at a photo of the wound that I emailed in, and told me it looked okay and to keep an eye on it. Dr. Hodge took the time to email me that evening as well to tell me it was okay and how to go about dressing it and keeping an eye on it. I received a phone call two days later asking how it looked and checking in. I've never had a vet take so much care of my pet. Dr. Hodge has answered every question nearly immediately, and her team has called multiple times to check up on us. This place has far exceeded my expectations and I recommend it very highly!

Don’t take your pets here. My dog got his tail cut off so we rushed him here. They charged me $1000 for x-rays and a partial amputation of the remaining tail. They stitched him up and didn’t even put bandages on his tail. Gave us 0 instructions on what to do next. Took him to my vet 2 weeks later and they said this place did an embarrassing job. Nothing had healed. Had to pay another $800 to have the tail redone. He’s healthy now but no thanks to this place.

I am more than satisfied with the services, expertise, and specialized care my foster boy Ol’ Red received at Greater Cincinnati Veterinary (GCV). After Ol’ Red’s calcium levels kept climbing, my vet referred me to GCV. This was my first time taking a pet to see a specialist. “Specialist” is a scary word to most pet owners. If you’re like me, you think two things-“something must be seriously wrong” and “how am I going afford this?” I was anxious for Ol’ Red’s first consultation at CGV. I did not know what to expect. Dr. Bruner put my mind at ease, as he was both knowledgeable and thorough. He was able to rule out other potential diagnosis before issuing a specialized blood test. The blood test confirmed that Ol’ Red had primary hyperthyroidism. It was a relief to have a diagnosis and a plan of action. Dr. Bruner was honest about the different options and also offered his expertise. After he did a wonderful job educating me about the condition and the risks involved, I decided that surgery to cure his condition was the best option for Ol’ Red. That’s when Dr. Hodge, Ol’ Red’s surgeon, came in. I also have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Hodge. First, Dr. Hodge “knows her stuff.” She was able to explain exactly what his surgery would entail and was honest about different courses of action. Due to her extensive knowledge and expertise, we decided to start Ol’ Red on calcium meds prior to his surgery. It is a good thing we went this route because Red may be have faced a crisis post operation had I opted out and went against her recommendation. In addition to her expertise, Dr. Hodge genuinely cares about her patients- two-legged and four-legged ones alike! Every morning (and sometimes evening), she took the time out of her busy schedule to call and give me an update on Ol’ Red. The price was extremely reasonable considering the literal two pages of vet care he received including the surgery, biopsy, blood tests, meds, IV, surgery prep, etc. They also take care credit (a credit card option) so payments are more manageable. Most importantly, Ol’ Red is back home and doing well. He is cured of his primary hyperthyroidism and will be able to live a normal, qualify life. And to me, that is priceless. I highly recommend Greater Cincinnati Veterinary to anyone who has a pet that needs speciality services, because the staff at GCV sure are special!

Very horrible place! Non caring and lack compassion. They do have alot of love for money. If you take a sick pet into a vets office, and they take 4 hours to even do anything at all because they was more worried about " we just want to make sure the finances are covered." Then there is Something wrong. My pet could of died waiting on them to get their estimates. The reason benfield told us to take him to the er was he was sick! I called to check on him and they was rude and quick. I would not take my pet here. There are other places and other vets that care.

If this is the Wilder location by Great escape movie theatre, the Staff are unfriendly idiots. My healthy 7 yr old Lab had a serious Seizure...an Anomile (once in a lifetime they said). Receptionist weighed 400 lbs and could barely get out of her chair, with a bad attitude & a look on her face like she was mental. I asked her please hurry & get the DR believing this was an ER facility for dogs. She sat there staring at me. I said could you please hurry!!?? She still sits there then finally begins to Move. Another woman walks up & tells me it's NOT and ER even though clearly posted outside. Finally a DR comes out to the waiting room & harshly chastised me about being "rude" to his staff!!.... unbelievable... WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN!! oh! & right outside their front door was a nasty man with a pit bull who was Smiling & not Moving to allow anyone to enter the Vet ER building. He should have been arrested. 100% Worst unprofessional Horrible experience, and the DR did nothing for my dog.

Just stopped down after my mothers dog tore out a dew claw. The vet tech and receptionist were great and quickly took care of our dog. Our bill was incredibly cheap considering this was an after hours emergency situation and I highly recommend them.

I don't normally use this vet, but we had to in an emergency on Sunday. My bullmastiff was diagnosed with Lymphoma a week before he died. His symptoms became so bad so fast I had no choice but to find an emergency vet and have him euthanized right away. This isn't how I wanted it to happen; it was supposed to happen at home, but we had to work with what we had. by the doctors pictures on the website it looks like we were helped by Dr Krawec. I was so upset I didn't catch his name or have a chance to thank him. His compassion for us and our sweet boy was more than I could have imagined. He really made the situation a little easier knowing my Caesar was left in good hands after he passed. I really want to thank Dr Krawec for being so great and sympathetic during this hard time.

Took my cat in about 10:30 at night after being hit by a car. x-rays were done vet said the only thing wrong was a broken hip. we could take him home and give him the same care they could. next morning went to take him to his normal vet and he was gone. My cat was supposed to be ok is what this vet said and in all honesty the nurse told him by cat could have a blood clot but the vet said no I don't think that is what it is. Now my cat is gone and I paid almost $400 to a vet that didn't help at all.

We were refereed to GCV by our Vet in Mt. Washington/Anderson area. Our 1.5 year old english bulldog had UTI and incontinence issues. We met with Dr. B and the surgeon and I was surprised to hear how they laid options out for us before jumping right to surgery. After those options were exhausted we opted for the surgery and it went perfectly. They took great care of our little girl and would even check on her while holding her overnight after the surgery. Not only was the service great the cost was very reasonable. We were originally referred to MedVet for the surgery and they wanted $600 just to do an ultrasound and check her out. All in the GCV bill was about $1600. MedVet would have been at least double that. We will and have continued to refer others to this vet.

As a twenty four year old with a newborn I was concerned about how much it was going to cost to get my dog looked at on the Saturday after Christmas. Everyone worked quickly and listened to me intently. When I told them how much I was able to spend the doctor, whose first name was Phillip, went out of his way to discount procedures and write perceptions for the necessary medications so that i could afford everything my dog needed.

Heidi Rabbit

Very compassionate ER staff. Honest and gentke about pets illness or accident and possible outcomes. Nonjudgmental about your decision and reassuring. Prices are high, but not more than other ER vets and they consult you with every step and how much it will cost as you go. I've been to a couple different ER vets and they are by far my first choice.

Lisa Hebenstreit

Absolutely disgusting place. I unfortunately brought a reptile here. They said they weren’t specialists but I never thought what happened was a possibility. Before I left my house my lizard was squirmy and lively. I brought him in for early signs of an upper respiratory infection. They took him in the back to “treat” him and when they came back he was basically dead. They told me he would die if I didn’t leave him with them over night. This is laughable, the lizard was already almost dead... because of something they did. To even suggest to keep a reptile over night when they admittedly told me they weren’t set up for these animals is a huge red flag. I paid 160 dollars and my lizard died on the way home. I am devastated, angry and will never forgive these people. Something happened behind the doors that I will never know. If that isn’t bad enough, I definitely think this is a money hungry scam of a place with an EXTREMELY uneducated staff. The vet assistant couldn’t even tell me the name of the antibiotic they gave my animal. I have never had a worse experience at a vet on my life.

Iris Fricke

I have never been so well taken care of. My pup ingested some bone, and they did every single thing possible. After the procedure the vet spoke with us, the surgeon spoke with us, the techs were there to support us, and they took care of my baby boy better than any other vet ever has. They went to great lengths for us, and I will be sending them a Christmas card every year for the rest of my life. This is hands down the most incredible care your pet can get. They have the most caring staff I have ever seen, and they did so much for my boy, and my family. I can't stress it enough that if you have an emergency, these people are the best.

Tyler Robinson

1 star is more than I'd like to give. This place is a joke. Charged me over 700 dollars for a dog who couldn't breath and did absolutely nothing. Wouldn't even give me records from x rays. I'd never suggest going there. I won't be back. I hate to say this but I'd rather risk the life of my dog to go somewhere else than take him there again.

Please do not take your animal here. I took my dog here on a Friday afternoon after my local vet found increased white blood cells and fluid in the chest in my Yorkie. Upon arriving at GCVS, Dr. Bruner found that my dog had swollen lymph nodes and advised me it could potentially be cancer or an infection. He wanted to keep her a couple days to give her IV's I said that was fine while the urine, lymph node and fluid test came back. He told me the results would be back by Sunday. On Sunday, I went to the clinic, still no results, and asked to take my dog home fore she seemed to be feeling better. On Monday, still no phone call or results. I called twice throughout the day to see if results were in and then once in the evening to speak with the ER vet about her not eating and what else I could give her. No one called me back but instead I receive an email from Dr. Bruner basically telling me to quit calling the office its not going to speed anything up.. understandable, but RUDE as hell. Call me, don't send me an email. Tuesday comes. No results still. My dog won't eat and no energy. Wednesday, I have basically had enough. I spent $1100 and still don't know what's wrong with my animal. If my dog has an infection we need to see the results to know. So I take it upon myself to call the labatory in which the samples were sent to, to see when they would be done. The lab told me they had sent the results over Tuesday morning. So 24 hours the vet has my results and no one can call me. I call GCVS and request a call from Dr. Bruner because he has my results! He calls me back 2 hours later to tell me my dog has cancer, which is terrible but I asked him don't you think its rude that you have known the results for over 24 hours and you haven't told me. He told me no, he was off yesterday, he typically doesn't even call patients back until in the evening so he was doing me a favor... etc. Doing me a favor? There are emergency vets on the clock... if you can not call me back, have someone else! For an emergency facility and me getting my results 6 days later just did not cut it for me... especially when your animal is miserable. Go somewhere else if you have the option.

Lora Capehart

Horrible place I wouldn’t take my snail here

annette Smith

They were very helpful and nice. I knew our dog was in great hands.

Chad Schultz

I called to ask if our dogs condition was something we should take her to the vet for (we accidentally gave her too much IV fluids) The first thing they ask was "are you a patient here?" I said no, I just wanted to know if we need to bring her in or if you can tell us what signs to watch for to see if we should bring her in. "We can't give medical advice over the phone. You can bring her in. The initial visit is $90." Seriously!?! You can't roughly tell me if the amount of fluid i gave my dog is a problem or maybe some warning signs to look for? No, you just want my money!

ZeAjiah Mooney

Brought my dog here because I noticed a difference in his breathing. We asked the doctor if it was possible that his heart was failing. She quickly ruled out that possibility and sent us home with some antibiotics. My dog passed in his sleep this morning due to cardiac failure. If you love your dog, do NOT bring them here.

Joerdie Driscoll

Great staff! Saved my cats life and prices were alright.

recpar

Very professional

Amanda

Took my pet to them. Spent a hundred dollars. They couldn't even tell me what sex he was and my poor baby died the next day. When I called them, they, in a nit shell, blamed me for not spending another hundred to run more test. He was a little thing and the initial fee was just rolling him around. They did absolutely nothing for the $85 flat rate. Even my 14 year old daughter caught onto the gibberish we were fed to cover the fact that he didn't have a clue what the problem was

Tyler Gray

Completely rude, not competent in skills, no compassion! Don't choose this place, they are all about how much money can they squeeze out of you in a short time. They could care less about your furry kids!!

Tanya Higdon

Very friendly, knowledgeable and they were good with my dog. They brought her water as we waited, sent me home with a copy of her xrays on disc. I would have given them 5 stars except the place was a bit run down, needed to be fixed up a bit. Overall great b service.

Emily Poole

They did a cardiac ultrasound of my cat Ringo, one of two places in town who do advanced tests. This place was half the cost of the other clinic. Great staff, quick service. I would definately go here again.

Katelyn Verst

My dog got off her leash over the weekend (hence why we took her here instead of her normal vet) and we were not sure what she got into but she had some decent sized lacerations on her belly and legs. The wait wasn’t terrible considering my dog wasn’t in severe distress, and the pay was about what I expected for a ER vet visit. However, the stitches in my dogs abdomen and leg came untied (not ripped out by her as her cone hasn’t been off and she hasn’t been very active) within 4 days of her being there when they were supposed to be in for two weeks. The wounds were not healed and need restitched but when I called I was told I’d have to pay all of the fees again, even though it was not due to any fault of ours. I will not be taking her back there to be restitched as I trust her primary vet much more, but I was highly disappointed in their customer service and lack of care for the animals themselves, only caring about their compensation.

Tori Williams

I'd rate this a 0 if I could! Please if you love your pets or animals DONT take them here! I brought in a dying cat that I found where I work and the cold hearted women at the desk refused to do anything. The woman was very rude and kept cutting me off every time I started talking. There was no dr on duty(which makes no sense since they're a 24 hour clinic?). They didn't even bother looking at the poor cat dying in my arms gasping for breath. They basically told me to take it somewhere else and that they couldn't do anything. I've always heard horrible things about this place they dont even need to be in business if this is how they're going to be. Unbelievable! And the poor cat ended up dying so I hope they feel good about themselves. I felt so bad for the poor cat. And by the other comments I've seen on here I'm not the only who had a horrible experience with this place.

Boris Yanovsky

My dog received the most compassionate, considerate, and kind end-of-life care I could have ever imagined for her. All of the staff, including Dr. Hodge, seemed to genuinely care about my dog Olive and demonstrated the utmost empathy during a very difficult time. I truly believe that everyone at the clinic contributed to improving Olive's quality of life during the time I had left with her. Although it was sometimes difficult to get a call back from Dr. Joe, Dr. Hodge would return my phone calls within 10-20 minutes at any time during the weekends.

Michele Widmeyer

Was great with our sick puppy.

Brandy Ray

Long read but it could save your animals life! Horrible....was told my dog had severe anemia and may not make it through the night...vet tech repeated several times..."there are cheaper options" as I sobbed over being told that if could not pay for blood tranfusions...coukd take afew...he will die painfully ftom his severe anemia. They had no humanity and did not see him as a life...pushed to either do transfusion or put him down ...no real explanation of what caused this deadly state of anemia they claimed.Said he may be losing blood, could be infection, cancer, and he is old...but apparently no need to check those...I asked if they could do any steroids or other options...surprise...they suggested euthanasia!!! 400 dollars later they gave him a steroid pill and sent him out in a lethargic state. I had to ask if they would please give me a script of steroids for home...vet tech gave me a goofy smile to reassure me he was just going to die...but must of figured why not just get more money out of me...she got him a steroid script they filled for another 25or 30 bucks ... Can't remember as the point of this review is not amount money but this locations disregarding the importance of life outside of humans. ....happy to say after 4 days of lethargy and no eating...he ate a meal today and ran around...steriods I had to ask for/demand started working....judging from another behavior in back yard...it was a stomach or intestional blockage and he is now hungry again. I still here that horrid vet tech chiming in while I cried discussing what we should do with family..."there are cheaper options"..."we can euthanize him right now."....please ....even in an emergency take the time to read reviews and ask around...i wish I would have read others on here....these animals are your fur kids and deserve to be treated like a living being....thank God I left that horrible place not listening to their staff encouraging me to kill him and making me feel like a bad person for not wanting to put my fur child down....i spent 2 days thinking I was selfish for not putting him to sleep as he had "deadly anemia" is really old and was dying... he is now seeing another vet....amazing how his deadly anemia disappeared with stetiods and a bowel movement....

Long wait we were the only one there only thing they did was check my dog temperature seem like they didnt care we were there close to 2 hours

Josiah Young

Great service and care on an emergency visit. Wait was pretty long, but expected. Only thing I didn't like was that the doctor did not come out and talk with me about the procedure done. I spoke to a technician who went over post op instructions, but really wanted to hear about everything from the doctor who did the procedure.

Scott Milligan

Great experience! Our dog is back to normal Health once again thanks to their expert care!

Samantha Johns

DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE FOR ANY REASON!!!!! At 12:30 am on 8/8 I took my dog into their office for a neck wound. The doctor told me looking at it, it’s a torn muscle and he can replace it. No X-ray or scan was done or offered to us. So we took the doctors word and he told us to come pick the dog up at 7 am. When we did so at 7 am she had a large wrap around her neck and said he repaired her muscle and sutured her neck shut. She came home and acted weird. Not eating or drinking, going to the bathroom, and was panting and tongue was hanging out of her mouth and she smelled of bowel yet hadn’t gone. I called the office at noon 8/8 to advice of behavior and respiratory concern and they told me this was normal for after surgery and if she was like this in the morning then to see my primary vet. The respiratory issues increased and continued so I called my primary vet at 4:45 pm 8/8 and they told me it seemed alarming and to give some pain medicine but if no change in 45 min then to bring the dog in. 15 min later at 5 pm on 8/8, 10 hours after we picked the dog up, she laid down and died. Before we buried her, we took the wrapping off of her neck and her neck was NEVER sutured shut like it had been instructed to us. I called the office that night to speak with the doctor and my call was never returned. I called the office the next morning 8/9 and didn’t receive a call back until I called 3 more times. I spoke with the manager BRITNEY and she told me the staff said I NEVER called with concerns of respiratory issues and that the dog was fine and “what happens when the dog leaves is not their concern”. The staff lied and in return I was left with a dead pet. With no apology, sympathy, or empathy, BRITNEY yelled at me on the phone and continuously said they were not to blame for what had happened and denied their negligence. I asked for a refund for medicine I didn’t even use and a procedure that didn’t work and was DENIED. I wasn’t even offered partial reimbursement or as much as an apology. DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE FOR ANY REASON!!!!! You’re better off treating your injured pet at home yourself. Our dog died 10 hours after leaving this office because of negligence, poor judgment, and improper care!

Becca C

Front desk staff doesn’t know how to prioritize at all. Our dog was very sick and peed on the floor when we arrived and instead of finishing the check in process so my dog could be seen she goes hunting for a mop to clean up the pee while my dog is clearly in respiratory distress. I was appalled and even clean up the pee myself to get her to be seen quicker. She later needed to be euthanized. They were all very caring during that time and the doctors were very knowledgable. We tried to pay before leaving that night and they said no worries we will call you with the final bill tomorrow. Then an hour after we arrived home we get a phone call from a lady acting like we were trying to not pay or something and wanted our cc info over the phone to settle the bill. I didn’t appreciate being treated like a criminal after she was the one that refused our payment at the desk just an hour before.

Amy Fraley

My furbaby had a stroke late Saturday night and I was greeted with the most compassionate staff. This situation was awful but these ladies made me feel like they truly cared about me, my heartache, and my furbaby. I could not have asked for his last moments to be in anyone else’s hands. Thank you Dr Titus and staff for everything you do ❤️

Brian & Janell Marshall

We brought our dog there today with soreness in his rear and backside. The staff was very friendly and compassionate. The Tech on duty was very friendly and very understanding of our situation. Dr. Bruner was very friendly, compassionate and professional. We had a really good experience and Thank You for your service.

David Isaacs

They saved my Golden Retrievers life. Very professional and caring. Very clear on communication. Top notch of Veterinarians. Two thumbs up!!

Jeffery Wombles

Super long wait time.

Renée LaFlamme

We have taken 2 of our 4 dogs in for emergencies, and the entire staff was wonderful both times. Dr. Bruner and especially Dr. Hodge took excellent care of Wiley when she needed major surgery for a splenic tumor (our regular vet Dr. Bob at Plum St. Pet Clinic recommended them), and Dr. Krawec was great with our 18 year old Wilma last night when we thought she had broken a leg (happily it was not broken). The facility/kennel is clean and well maintained and the staff was happy to show us around all areas before we left Wiley there for her surgery. Wiley was actually excited to go back and visit the staff for her post-surgery follow-ups, she had no fear : ) I have full confidence in the staff and doctors and appreciate their care and obvious love for animals. Thanks to everyone there!

Linn Clark

I know people have the right to be payed but to deny service to someone who's pet is possibly dying or is dying to say point blank money no service goes against the Hippocratic oath. Still once payed they do a good job.

Michelle Shrock

24 hour emergency care. Took care of my baby. Friendly.

Patrick Massey

Personally had a bad experience there. They wanted to give my dog a shot but wouldn't let me be in the room, wanted to take him to the back. I explained they could not give my dog anything unless I was present. All in all they couldn't do anything for my dog and I took him to the vet the next day.

Ronda Spears

Took my pug in because she was breathing heavy. The vet on duty didn’t even want to examine her before she started talking euthanasia. The vet tech at first said keep her laying on her stomach. They done an estimate for service which was 600.00 for blood work and X-ray. We had an appointment with our regular vet the next day so we asked if she could have something to calm her down and make her breath easier until her appointment with the vet. They said yeah we can give her pain meds and something for her lungs. Made us sign a release form because they wanted to do the whole workup but we declined those services. The tech took her back for shots came back with her and just more or less tossed her on her side on the table. Had us pay the 236.00 for shots then rushed us out. 10 minutes down the road she took her last breath. I think they gave her the euthanasia shot any way. Both the vet and tech were rude and uncaring. Will never go here again!

Lila Campbell

This place has helped my furry family members several times in the past. My most recent time here was because my puppy hadv parvo. We went to 3 other vets. One wanted us to treat him at home (he would not have made it) and the other two wanted us to leave him, but had no staff at night. Wilder has a vet on 24/7, so we took him in. The had him for 5 days. We called several times a day to check on him since we couldn't visit (they had to quarantine him since he had parvo, which is why we couldn't visit). The vet called every day to update us and explain everything. They let me being him homemade food and my sweatshirt to cuddle. They were just amazing. After 5 days, my puppy was good as new, thanks to their round the clock care and expertise. Can't recommend them enough!

Jennifer Schwarberg

Terrible!!

Bruno Bagialtsalief

Great place for your pets! The staff is incredible and the natural elements make this place super special! It's a great place to ask questions or for your general pet needs! If you're ever in this area, don't hesitate to stop by for a look! You won't regret it!

Marina Bungenstock

Took my dog to be cremated and they were very caring and kind ❤ I really felt like they cared. They gave me a hand written sympathy card when I picked him up as well.

Andrea Maliszewski

I had to bring my cat here at 11 pm due to what I thought was a stroke situation. I ended up having to put my baby down and they were amazing through it all. The doctor explained everything thoroughly, the staff was nice, understanding and sympathetic to the situation. They made a clay paw print for me, contacted my vet and sent me a sympathy card. I put down my dog years ago and never received this treatment at my regular vet. Highly recommend.

Jessica Smith

DO NOT bring your animals here!!!!!!! This place is a JOKE! Not worthy of even 1 star! We brought our healthy purebread Frenchie with a healthy litter of 6 pups to this disgrace of an establishment. She was scheduled to have her C-Section with our regular vet this coming Monday, but she went into labor at home late yesterday evening after our vets office hours. When I called this facility & explained our situation, we were told to let her labor at home & have her try to deliver naturally. We explained due to her size it was unlikely she would be able to birth naturally, but the secretary said since our dog had drank some water a few hours earlier, they wouldn't be able to give her anesthesia until later in the evening. 6 hrs later our dog was in distress, the 1st pup was coming out feet 1st & couldn't pass through the birth canal. We called again & were told to wait it out, as long as the sac wasn't ruptured & no green fluids we should allow her to continue naturally. 20 min later the sac ruptured & we loaded our dog in the car with her 1st pup hanging halfway out of her. We called on our way & explained the now emergent situation & were headed in for an emergency C-section [thinking they would prepare their OR]. When we arrived the secretary was more concerned with filling out paperwork & waited until they typed up an estimate & processed our payment. Then it took them 30 minutes to draw her blood & wait for results before starting her surgery. 5 out of the 6 pups died! We were told the surgery could take 2 to 4 hrs and if we wanted, we could leave & come back. Thank God we stayed! Before long a vet tech was running up and down the halls handing us our new born puppies in cold damp towels, asking us to hold them & rub them. The facility was freezing cold, we kept insisting the pups needed to be in the incubator or at very least under a heat lamp. As a result 5 of the puppies that were breathing & born healthy died. Not only did we loose almost the entire litter, they discharged us with NO post op pain meds, we were told they had a shortage of supplies...The WORST & most HORRIFIC part of all...they handed us a box with our deceased puppies & told us they were unable to dispose of them. Needless to say our family is beyond disgusted & heart broken. Posting this horrific experience to deter anyone from taking their animals to this disgrace of an establishment. They should be SHUT DOWN!!! The Holder Family

Jeff Bilsky

Fantastic care and service.

Kathleen Wimsatt

Last month my 4 month old morkie Willow had jumped from my arms and hit the ground hard and of course it was late in the evening and I needed emergency services to get her checked out. Upon arriving at Greater Cincinnati Veterinary Specialists we were immediately taken care of and they checked Willow from head to toe and were so wonderful with her and me as I was an emotional wreck. Thankfully she ended up being fine and was her happy puppy self the next morning. I want to thank the staff that night for taking such good care of us Dr. Krawec, Elise, Jadessa, and Shawn you guys rock!!

Taylor Vaughn

I have taken two animals here that unfortunately passed away and my experience was fine. I recently got a new kitten and he was very sick late at night. I called just to ask about a dosage for Cestex (a dewormer) on a 2lb kitten to make sure I was giving him the right medication. That was it, just one question. The lady at the front desk at 3am when I called was EXTREMELY rude to me telling me she wouldn’t ask or let me speak to a doctor because it “wasn’t their problem I didn’t have the right medication”. I explained it was just a simple question I needed to ask so that I could figure out if I needed to either take him to the emergency room or not. She said no and that she couldn’t do anything about it. I called MedVet right after and they were extremely nice and talked me through everything I needed to know! I ended up taking him in and they did everything there for him. They were amazing and helpful when I was very scared about my kitten. I will not be coming to Wilder Emergency Clinic again and neither will the rest of my family.

nancy gruen

Love this place. Dr. Hodge has successfully performed 2 back surgeries on our doxie OD and we are deeply in her debt. She is an excellent Vet, and truly cares about the animals she treats. My dachshund is on monthly medication and the staff is always so friendly and hospitable every time I phone in the prescription and also pick up as well. I have been going to Dr. Hodge for over 5 years. I can't speak about other staff members or other vets, as I only see her, but I truly have never had a bad experience going here.

Tammy Naegele

Although the outcome may not always be a happy one, I have never experienced such compassion for animals as I have with GCVS. Thank you all for the care, love and support. I will forever be grateful. You can't put a price on a love for an animal and you all go above beyond whatever it takes!!!

plumcrazee9

An emergency vet who can't see pets without an appointment, my dog has been seen by a part time vet there for a year, but I can't get him in to see any other emergency vets until Monday, he will be dead by then.

Jamie Bruin

The prices are high. Dr. Joe is a great vet. It is hard to get calls returned. I think for the price I pay I should get better customer service.

Jason Murray

They were very nice people. My dog had a grandma Seizure that is what they diagnosed him with. I felt like we were over charged for our visit

Jo Canada

Horrible. Didn't know at the time, but my precious 6 yr old border collie, Jazzy's, stomach had flipped. If the vet had any inkling of her illness, she didnt show it. She thought it was the after effects of a seizure and mentioned bloated stomach. Dr Gena suggested a shot to help bloating and to keep her comfortable till morning at which time we were going to take her to her vet. All 5 of us showed up there. We loved on our Jazzy. We told her we would be back in a few hours. We no more walked in the door home when GCVS called and said she was dying. (Purple tongue. Couldn't breath. She was suffering.) We frantically OKd euthanasia since we were 25 mins away. Never, ever would we have left her alone to die. Billed $505.00 for exam (?) and a shot that I pray she got and she is gone.

aimee badinger

Absolutely terrible. If you want Doc McStufin to rob you blind and break your heart then, by all means bring your babies to this deal home of a clinic.

Darrell Snodgrass

Took my dog in when she injured herself. Had to get some stitches, but everything went as expected.

Taylor Bahrakis

Amazing staff

Jon Bowles

They were very quick getting my cat in for examination, unfortunately he didn't survive but they were excellent in their efforts and how I was treated

Nancy Hiner

We had to bring our puppy after being bitten by another dog on Thanksgiving day! The service was very good, and we're very grateful to Dr. Krawec for taking good care of our boy on a holiday, and answering all our questions and concerns.

Meg Herbol

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!!!!! I WISH I COULD RATE THIS PLACE A 0!!!! all they care about is money!! rushed all the way down there with my dying pet in my arms and they walk out as slow as possible, poked my sweet baby in his eye and said he was dead. came back the next day to pick his body up and they had thrown him in a garbage bag and a box... later that same day took my other sick dog down there and was there for 3 HOURS and all they did was check her chest and wanted to charge us 500$!!!!!

E Y

Top notch people, reasonable prices

nikki williams

I spent $400 to find out my dog had gas..

David Mefford

Great emergency care for pets. Have had to bring 2 pets here for emergency services, and they are very quick to see your pet and get things taken care of.

Shane Tonning

We took our dog here after he ingested gum with Xylitol. The staff explained to me the treatment he would receive and were open about pricing. They let me visit him whenever I liked during his stay (which was twice a day) and were available on the phone to let me know how he was doing. The ladies who handled him were friendly and made me feel welcome. The vet on staff was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. My dog came out of it ok and I have them to thank for taking great care of him.

Kasey Justice

Angry hedgie owner..I WILL NEVER BRING AN ANIMAL HERE AND I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE! If I could remember the vets name I would include it. I live in Cincinnati area of Ohio and I read great reviews on this place so I figured it would be worth the drive..turned out to be the biggest waste of my time and money. I brought my hedgehog in for an emergency around 12/1 am. It looked as if he pooped out some type of organ or intestine and his fecal smelled of death. I put what looked to be like an organ and some of the fecal in a bag and brought it with me figuring the vet would be able to tell right away if it was something serious. Might I add this place is supposed to be for exotics too.. The vet tech and receptionist were very nice but that was about the only good thing from this place. The tech was frightened to hold my hedgie just to get a weight and the actual veterinarian was scared to hold him too! The vet looked at him for less than 1 minute and then came to the conclusion that he needed to be put under anesthesia. I understand when hedgehogs are scared, they curl in a ball and can hurt a bit but an exotics vet should know how to simply hold a hedgie so they don't curl into a ball. My regular veterinarian, Dr. Dahlhausen (not a 24/7 vet) can give my hedgehog a full physical exam, checking in the mouth too, without even mentioning anesthesia. The vet looked at the bag of fecal I brought in for merely 10 seconds and didn't tell me anything about it. If you are an exotics vet, you should be able to tell me right away if what I brought in was really a body part or just a foreign object. The vet told me about all these studies on hedgehogs, nothing about his stool. The vet wanted to preform x-rays to look for tumors, there was no reason to look for cancer when I brought him in for a foreign body. He tried charging me $40 for a fecal float which is used to find parasites. Might I add I'm currently in school to be a veterinary technician and my hedgehog had no symptoms of parasites. I could take my hedgie to a regular vet for a fecal float coasting $10, $20 max. On top of that they added a antibiotic to my estimate they gave me and they didn't even know if he needed medication or what kind, they were just going to send me home with some type of medication. When I declined all of the options that the veterinarian had given me a discharge paper. The first sentence of this paper said "You brought Story in for diarrhea......." That's when I really got angry. Not once did the word diarrhea leave my mouth. My hedgies stool was great and normal! I brought my hedgehog in because I thought he pooped out an organ along with dead smelling feces. I had fecal in the bag I brought in and if the vet did his job, listened and was actually educated like he's supposed to be, he would of saw and realized that my hedgehogs stool was normal. I was right when he kept trying to treat my hedgie for diarrhea and things that cause diarrhea. I am glad I declined everything because that vet could of harmed or even killed my hedgehog by putting him under anesthesia especially because he is only 0.5lbs. The next day I brought the fecal sample in to my teacher who is an expert in exotics and she looked at my sample for 2 seconds and told me what I thought was an organ was just a foreign body and he must of gotten into something he shouldn't of. Obviously the vet here had no idea what he was doing or he just flat out didn't care for my pet and was just trying to get money. I shouldn't of even paid the $80 exam visit because the vet was no help what so ever. I knew more about hedgehogs than he did.

Had a kitty that was blocked and in massive pain and discomfort because he couldn't pee. Called at 7am on Superbowl Sunday and they had me in by 8:30. Very caring and so thankful they were in my county!

Couldn't be happier with the services I received while at this clinic. My dog was having issues with his blood not clotting, and they took care of him great the entire weekend. When I would visit, he was always happy and would happily go with the vet techs when the visit was over. Made me feel like he was ok with being there. Great place!

We were here just a few hours ago and I thought my dog wasn't going to make it he wouldn't eat or drink anything I got him home and he's already eating. The staff was very nice and I'm very thankful I took my dog here or he probably wouldn't have made it. So thank you very much for your services and bingo thanks you as well.

Horrible place! I took a cat there for a referral. We have several labs and ultrasound done. This was just over 2 weeks ago, I have called several times for the results and no one has called back. In the mean time, 2 days after I took our cat there we had to put her to sleep. I do not recommend this place! If I could give a zero star I would!

Horrible place. Can’t even give you advice. Horrible and the lady on the phone was super rude. Never going back. Would not recommend!

I have read thru many of the reviews & I find them odd. I am a person who reads reviews & often bases my purchase of a product or use of a service uses those reviews as a deciding factor. There are many horrible reviews of the awful experiences that were had at this company. And then there are the others that are very complimentary. I question the complimentary reviews. I wonder if they were plants to throw people off because of all the horrible reviews. For those of you who are reading this, you must certainly know that companies (or associates/friends) have others leave nice reviews to try & conteract the horrible reviews. I would be completely wary about dealing with this business. A few horrible reviews would be one thing. Dozens & dozens of reviews can't be wrong. Just saying....

Unbelievable heartless company. I was in a bind due to the day and time of the week to have my cat checked out. She was lethargic and not eating. The prognosis was not good based on their tests and initial research when I brought her in. Less than 12 hours later she died. She became ill so suddenly and it was overwhelmingly heartbreaking for me that she died so quickly and in pain. I took her in as soon as she died. I requested that she be cremated and ashes be returned to me. The receptionist checked me out and told me they would call me in 3 -4 days. On the 4th day, I had a feeling something was wrong. I had a friend call on my behalf and indeed my feeling was right. They had not even sent her to be cremated and that I wouldn’t get the ashes back for another week! I was and still am devastated. Accurate information is critical to the owners when dealing and mourning the death of a beloved pet. I advise anyone and everyone to stay FAR FAR away from this place of business.

The people here care whole heartedly. They nailed it and made one big German Shepherd well again in a very short time. Thankful!

This place is horrible it murders innocent pets !!! Don’t take your pet there !! Pet owners: DO NOT GO TO l GREATER CINCINNATI VETERINARY SPECIALIST IN WILDER, KY FOR ANY REASON!!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE!!!!! You’re better off treating your injured pet at home yourself. Our dog died 10 hours after leaving this office because of negligence, poor judgment, and improper care!

Heather Salyers

They charged over twice as much as our regular vet for the same procedure and two nights of boarding versus five nights. Service was adequate, but not better than that which we receive at our regular vet. It is unjustifiable to charge twice as much for a procedure simply because it takes place over the weekend.

Darrell Peter

Great, kind staff

I brought a cat here that I had seen get hit by a car on my way to work. They wanted to charge me $80 just to look at the cat and another $80 if euthanasia was necessary. Well before I could make that decision, the cat had passed. When I inquired on what to do with the body, they said it would cost $95 to cremate him. Since I was on my way to work I had no option but to pay the $95. I'm appalled a...t the lack of compassion. It was bad enough witnessing this and then having to pay $95 to dispose of the body is ridiculous. When I questioned the fee the receptionist was very rude and said ‘ this is a business’. I realize this but there’s no way it’s costing you $95 to dispose of a cats body!! So much for doing the right thing! I also went her about a month ago with my boxer that was having a seizure. They dragged him to a scale to get his weight and put us in a room and said the doctor would be in shortly. 5 minutes went by so we left and went to MedVet. I seriously will NEVER come to this place again.

5-18-2018 cat with potential dislocation I had to put down my Cat today at this clinic. Or rather my fiancé had to put down our cat at this clinic alone. An awful experience as it is already to lose a loved one, I feel exploited. Here is why... The cat had injured itself to the point he couldn’t walk on his paw. He could hobble around on 3 but any pressure on his leg caused intense pain. We were thinking dislocation as no loud noise was made or really anything to imply worse just before we noticed. They examined the cat, immediately administered drugs, took him to X-rays, then gave the options of : amputate, perform a 50/50 surgery if we found a specialist even willing, or do nothing all option led back to arthritis forming and amputation just to save his life. Call us awful if you wish but given these choices we felt it best to put him down since every single option given led to death. I am not a vet but was informed in cats arthritis and amputation could both lead to some form of lethargic behavior where the cat just gives up basically. So ultimately the break down was $600 to kill off our own family member (at this point now that they had treated him partially) or pay 4500 to have a strong chance of him dieing a long miserable death over the next several months. I loved him and so did my fiancé. So to pay $600 we didn’t have to lose our baby was possible the most sick thing I’ve had to do in a long time.

The staff did a wonderful job making us feel comfortable with leaving our pet in your care. Everyone was concerned, helpful and caring. Thank you for taking care of our Jojo last night. She is doing very well and home this evening.

Marine 0351

Our dog is 8 and sadly needs to be put down. The staff, including Techs and Doctors, were exceptionally compassionate. During the process of diagnosis and treatment, we felt informed of all our options and the information was presented simply. Also, the technicians were very personable. Everytime we called late just to check in on him and make sure he was comfortable, they went above and beyond to also tell us how much they enjoyed spending time with him and how good of a dog he was. All my pets will be coming here from now on.

I took my beautiful cat Sunshine here a few months back when I came home at midnight to my cat puking more than normal. The Dr had been dealing with another patient and was really rushed when she came in and did a quick exam and left. Well my fiance asked the nurse if she could check my cats ears because they had been bothering her as well and she had also be very Sneezy and snotty so since we were already there we wanted to make sure my cat was ok. I also requested information on vets near that do teeth extractions a(because I was new to the area )she and the nurse refused TO REFER US SAID THEY "weren't aloud" So the nurse left to tell the Dr and this Dr came in with the WORSE attitude I've ever experienced in my life and I work customer service. She was yelling and saying how she doesn't have time for this and just explained that she wasn't doing anything else for my cat...while man handling my precious cat who was already scared. I refused to let her do any other treatment after that I paid for the "exam" and a few shots and left. Let me tell you Dr. Whatever your name is ,if I ever see you again I have a few un kind words for you. I was your customer and you treated me and my animal like Garbage and my cat is my world I will NEVER EVER come back and I will make sure everyone knows the truth about your practices.

Very helpful. Clean and quick.

We went to this location with our pet who was very ill. They were very caring and professional. I knew the fee every step on the way. I feel that they went above and beyond during a very difficult time.

Dogs better now , after they gave him antibiotics

I highly recommend GCVS! They are thorough, compassionate, professional, kind and caring. The facility is always clean and bright. (I’ve been there three times in the past year) I trust them to give the best care to my cats when needed. I’m grateful to live close and that they’re available nights and weekends. Thank you!!

Women’s dog died 10 hours after leaving this facility from negligence, poor judgment, and improper care. She paid for procedures that didn’t occur and her poor dog died because of it. No empathy or caring for the loss. Blatant lying and by management staff. TLDR; you risk your pet if you go here.

G C

Incredibly friendly and helpful!

Cheri Purk

The Secretary, tech, and vet were all very knowledgeable and nice. I brought my pug in on a Sunday for a cold. She was running a temp and just not acting like herself. We were brought back to a room quickly, but had to wait a little while for the vet as he was seeing sicker pts first. We were given the option for a chest xray and told the costs upfront, but no pressure. I would definitely take my dog back again.

Bill Prodoehl

They were very busy and the wait long, but I am glad they are nearby. Nothing worse than a sick pet

Gregory Givens

They did a great job with my new puppy Gizmo. He's feeling a lot better.
