REVIEWS OF Central Kentucky Veterinary Center IN Kentucky

Dr. Scott Weakley treated our 8 year old Lab, Chisum, on August 15, 2017. We choose Central KY Vet Clinic on the recommendation of our Georgetown friends, Tom and Penny Rusnak. The Center was clean, the staff was very helpful and professional, and Dr. Weakley was kind, thorough, and took time to explain what he was doing and why. We even received a followup phone call from the staff to ask how Chisum was doing. We are happy to report that Chisum is continuing to improve-breathing easier and lots of energy. Dr. Weakley's diagnosis and the treatment he prescribed were spot on! Again, we want to thank Dr. Weakley and his kind, caring, competent staff for the wonderful care Chisum received at Central KY Vet Center.

I have always had a very pleasant experience at CKVC. The staff is very friendly, and they make sure all my needs are met. The Vets have been fantastic, and I never feel they are in a rush to get to the next patient. I am very comfortable when going and asking questions, and they do a great job in listening and advising. Great place!

Received great service on a Sunday. All the staff were extremely helpful and Dr. Fuller was great! They even called to followup if our dog was doing OK.

I've been a loyal client of Central Kentucky Veterinary Center since moving to Georgetown in 1999. They have some of the most compassionate veterinarians I've ever met. And now that they've moved into their new expanded location and are the only AAHA animal hospital in Scott County? Even more reasons to go there. A+ care!

LaNeal Alred

Best Vets on the planet! Even though they did all go to Auburn, they take great care of our Tebow!

Before I started using this clinic, we had an old Bassett Beatle mix who was ready to go on. The day came when he couldn't stand. We couldn't pick him up for the pain. The vet he normally went to refused to come to our home to ease him out of this life. I called CKVC, they said they could have a vet out to us in half an hour. And they did. The vet was so very compassionate. From then, I switched and my other babies go to Central KY. Yeah, they have one woman in the front who is very rude, but the experiences there overall far outweigh the one woman who always seems to be having a horrid day.

Very overpriced. My cat was attacked by a dog and they made us pay $135 just to see her, just to put her to sleep and made us pay another $140 dollars for that..

I have only been going to Central Kentucky veterinary clinic for a short time and they seem to be good with normal check ups and vaccinations but recently my dog started feeling sick and he became very lethargic, lost his appetite, and vomited a couple times. So I called the clinic and they told me to bring him in which I did. Upon getting there I told the veterinarian my dogs symptoms and the vet started running test for severe gastrointestinal issues and ended up giving my dog two shots one for acute vomiting and one for calming gastrointestinal stress/stomach ulcers. This visit cost me a total of $240.00. So my dog still seemed Ill and the next day I called back asking about worms and medication for worms and the veterinarian wanted to do another test for heartworms so I ended up calling my prior veterinarians clinic and told them the symptoms of my dog and they checked him out and ended up diagnosing my dog with hook worms and gave him trifexus costing nearly 1/4th of what central Kentucky veterinary clinic had costed and within a few hours my dog was much more energetic and had regained an appetite. The following day I noticed that he was completely back to normal. Now this review is not to intended to degrade all of the veterinarians at this office. I think that the veterinarian that saw my dog may have misunderstood the symptoms. Although it would seem that if a person were to bring in an animal for gastrointestinal problems the veterinarian would at least check for worms which is a simple test merely involving a stool sample. But I can not really say anything negative about this clinic. But I will say that I was displeased with my last visit and I am going to switch to my veterinarian I used before I came to Central Kentucky veterinary clinic.

Took my cat today for a upper respiratory infection. Had to travel a little ways due to this was his piror vet before i adopted him. Desk woman was so nice to Enzo and I. The vet (guy) that checked Enzo was by far one of the best. I will definitely be taking him back and this will become his forever doctor. I would recommend this veterinary Center to anyone and everyone. THANKS GUYS ON THE GOOD WORK!

I must say this is the best small animal clinic in Central Kentucky! I took our dog Lady there for her shots and was so happy with the service that since that time we have taken over 8 more puppies to have their shots done. Amy in the office is also a great addition to the team. The staff who answers the phone were friendly and always answer our questions. I would tell everyone to take their pets there for sure!

On Easter morning 2019, my little Shih-Zu Sophie was having horrible seizures. She had been sick for some time with heart issues, but her health was being managed, but Saturday night she had a terrible seizure where we thought she was dead. Unbelievably she recovered a little later, but the next morning had two more. Her heart would stop beating and she would quit breathing. I could not let my baby suffer anymore. I called the emergency contact they had for small pets and Dr. Fuller answered and we met with him 30 minutes later. He was already at the office when we arrived and was very comforting. My wife and I were crying our eyes out. It was a horrible day, but Dr. Fuller made the procedure a little less painful for us. He gave our baby girl gas until she fell asleep and then he administered the injection. Our little girl was gone and didn't even flinch a bit because he was so gentle. I am devastated that I lost my little girl, but I am thankful Dr. Fuller was kind and gentle during the procedure.

I'll never forget the care and dedication that was shown to us all. They searched everywhere for an expensive medicine for us and found it in New Jersey. They also got advice from a prof at Ohio State U. They worked hard to save Oliver. But we lost him

Been going here since about 2000 when my furbaby Batwing Rat had a stomach obstruction. They were kind, understanding, and very helpful when he died some 10 years later. I still use them at the new location and still would go here over any other vet

Teri & Mickey Ward

Been going here since my return to the great state of KY in 1995. I even traveled from Frankfort and Versailles for vet services. Vets are knowledgeable and caring. As long as I have animals, this will be my vet office of choice. Nov 2017, my corgi contracted a gastrointestinal virus. 3 vets worked to bring her back from near death. I love these guys.

Steve May

I have nothing but good things to say about this vet. Their prices are reasonable, they are very friendly, and they offer early-morning and evening hours.

**EDITING in light of follow up. I'm leaving the original review for reference, but I want to follow up and say that I received a call this morning from Dr. Bollinger to address my concerns and inform me that the vet who misdiagnosed my dog is no longer with the practice. I have actually never been as impressed with customer service as I was this morning and it was enough to convince me that perhaps we should return to CKVC. Thank you!! I brought my dog here after a friend recommended them and while they were always very nice and easy to reach, they misdiagnosed him pretty significantly. After months of x-rays, rest, chiro, acupuncture and the like, I took him to the veterinary hospital at OSU for a neurological exam, at which point they correctly diagnosed him as having a ruptured cruciate (which I had asked explicitly about twice before and was reassured both times that it couldn't be). At that point, the damage was bad enough that he needed the TPLO and has a higher risk than normal for tearing the other leg. I don't necessarily hold the diagnosis against them because I know medicine can be an inexact science at the best of times and he may have needed the surgery regardless, but I'm a bit disappointed they didn't give more consideration to the correct diagnosis, especially given how common the injury is in labs. Overall, it meant hundreds of dollars in unnecessary visits and treatments for me (not easy on a college student budget) and months of pain for him (a far bigger deal to me). They are nice and I think they genuinely care about the animals they treat, but I won't be returning.

We adopted a kitten from Georgetown Humane Society via a pet store. Turns out the kitten was very sick. The HS said to take it to this vet. We did and they gave it back to us still very sick. Neither followed up with a phone call to see how she was doing. She almost died by thank goodness for Barnes Mill Animal Hospital in Richmond. They kept her a week and healed her. Called us every day.

Jen Howard

Excellent vet care, great techs, but extremely rude, brash and unprofessional woman in accounts receivable. Cannot recommend overall positive experience with the extremely rude woman they have on staff who loudly and forcefully talks to customers in a horrible way. We may be back, or may not. That nasty woman needs to go work in a jail or something; she'd be right at home. You can't have someone who talks like that to people in a vet clinic or anywhere else where customer service is key. This clown has no ability to filter what she says, and obviously doesn't care.

Patty Long

Have always asked me about Chase, then checked Chase and was always informative with his check ups! Love this clinic. Clean and friendly staff as well as the doctors!

Donnie Clem

They have awesome reproductive department!

Carrie McIntosh

Excellent care for my fur babies. Top of the line equipment and diagnostics.

Gail Johnson

Very reasonable prices and caring service on a Sunday.

Lisa Baker

Such a great place for pet care. We recently lost our precious 12 year old beagle, Hailey, and the doctors here did everything they could to make her better, but it wasn’t meant to be. I would highly recommend this facility, with special mention to Drs. Weakley and Fuller. Thank you so much for taking care of our pets. You’ll never know how much we appreciate you.

Becky Bartosz

A little expensive but excellent care!

Lisa Lockwood

Katie is a very caring and knowledgeable vet tech. Her caring is obvious. She is truly invested in making it the best experience.

erin sharkey

Very rude doctors. They talk down to you like your an idiot. Not my first run in with this vet. When my dog was pregnant back in June, I called to get an Ultrasound and they were rude to me because I didn't "come to them" to get her pregnant. Went to them again for my cat who was sick and was charged over $300 . Went to them again today for an emergency and had the vet get angry with me because I contradicted his statement on a medication when I know it works, left the room in a huff. Had another Vet come into the room and immediately jumped my case instead of trying to defuse the situation. They are overrated and overpriced. Unless they pay their overpriced fee's and commit to their expensive, non needed BS then they are rude to you. Will never use again.

Natasha Reese

All the veterinarians and staff at CKVC are exemplary. They provide the best care for my animals. The after hours care is very convenient and thorough, as is the preventative care provided.

Melissa Webster

I first started coming to Central Kentucky when we had a baby potbelly pig and our vet couldn’t treat her, Dr Scott Weakley took care of her & although he couldn’t save her, the care and compassion was like nothing we had experienced before. That was 20 years ago, and many dogs, cats, pigs, and goats later, and we can’t imagine going elsewhere. The staff at CKVC are all wonderful, knowledgeable and available 24 hours a day. Dr Weakley feels like family to us because he has been with us through some very sad times—many times over. ❤️

J Wise

If you own a pet, this is the place for all their veterinarian needs. By far the best experience anywhere.

Bobby Cannon

Came home from work and noticed the outdoor stray kitten that frequently comes by my home for free meals, had a broken tail and it was severely cut open...i immediently grabbed him up and rushed him over to your center. A vet wouldn't even see me unless i dropped 200 dollars. You all cowered inside your offices and wouldn't even give me advice to help the poor kitten. Piss poor excuse for veterinarians who value money over life, and pathetic excuse for human beings. You embarrassed yourselves and your front desk staff and im glad people walked out when they saw your true colors. These vets don't give a damn about animals or your pets folks....You dishonor your doctor's code and i hope the worst for every coward inside that building.

Killed my friends dog!!!

Our little dachshund, Carlie, started feeling under the weather and then went into congestive heart failure in a matter of days. Our local vet in Paris, KY recommended this facility for after hours emergency care. We cannot even begin to thank Dr. Weakley enough for his patience, understanding, and expertise. We cannot believe how much better Carlie is doing! She's acting like her old self and we are just so, so thankful. The staff, nurses, Dr. Zu, etc...all made a sudden, harrowing experience better by their compassion! We highly recommend this facility and staff.

I have always had a good experience with CKVC until today. I made an appointment to put my 15 year old Lab down today. The receptionist who greeted us did a great job and was comforting. She took us to a cold room that was not real appealing to a dog that was already anxious. The Vet and Tech (Brittany) came in and greeted us and explained to us what was going to happen which was great. They needed to give a sedative, which the Tech came back and did. She looked at us and could tell I was up set and my dog was very nervous. She asked if we wanted a blanket to lay on which I appreciated. A few minutes later the vet came back and he took care of business. He was understanding and somewhat compassionate. Then they left and a few minutes later I left. I went to the desk and was greeted by receptionist "B" and the only thing she could say was $xxx.xx. there was no I am sorry, how are you doing, nothing. It wasn't until after I paid I got a thank you and an insincere "Sorry". I didn't expect red carpet or feel sorry for me treatment. But for a customer who has been coming for over 7+ years, I did expect a little more compassion from what is a really bad situation. I also expected her vet Dr. Scott to at least make an appearance. She has been seeing him for 7+ years. If he wasn't there I get it. But in my opinion CKVC has gotten too big and they have forgotten where they came from. I was with them before they moved and they had compassion there. Thank you to Brittany for doing what she could. My suggestion, have a room that is a little more appealing for a pet that is about to cross the bridge. Have a blanket ready, consider dimming the lights and make the room comfortable. Consider including the clay paw print in your price so when you check out it isn't a shock. Make it seem like it is part of the service. Rethink the experience and how you would want to be treated.

Daniel Lindeman

My dog was hit by a car and these people gave me the best price and were super friendly and would let me stay and see Bonez any time I wanted. I live in Ohio and if I needed someone to look after any of my dogs I would hands down pick this place.Because of the care these people gave Bonez he was able to keep his leg and return to a normal life. I will never be able to repay the kindness they showed me and Bonez. Thank you!!!!

Summer Brown

Took our dog here for the 1st time today. Was pleased with the service we received. Loved the vet and staff! Felt very welcoming.

Dr Trisich and his staff is Great!

Nicole Hatfield

Very impressed by the services we received. Short wait times, well trained and compassionate staff, clean facilities and prices are fair. Would highly recommend.

The veterinarians are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately the other staff do not always make such a positive impression. During our most recent visit they were rude and dismissive.

Terrible took my dog there because he got ran over waited for almost 3 hours and never was seen

LeighAnn Figurelli

CKVC is not my "usual" vet, but I often use them for special services that aren't available at my little country vet. They have always been absolutely wonderful. I never sit in the waiting room, or in the exam room for an unreasonable length of time, and he doctors and staff seem genuinely interested in the needs of my dogs.

Judith Anderson
