I thought my dog was possibly taking a turn for the worse so I called them. They got her right in and did a thorough exam to find what was wrong. They explained everything and took great care of her. She is doing much better now thanks to them. It was not that expensive, either.

Every time I have had to take my cat there the staff has been friendly and honest with me. They are great with follow-up and even though my cat hates going to the vet like children hate going to the doctor she still likes and trusts the people who work there. They have also been kind and helpful to friends and family who have had to take their pets there and I will always recommend them.

I called the previous day to inquire about services. Decided to bring my cat in the next day. I arrived an hour and 15 minutes before closing and was told that if the cat wasn't seen by the doctor an hour before closing that I would be charged a 60 dollar fee. Apparently they couldn't see my cat an within the 15 minutes even though I was the only person there. This information also was with held when I called the day before.

This is a great vet office and the staff are nothing short of wonderful and caring. They can't do all services here, like x-rays, but they can do all the checkups and blood tests and are very knowledgeable. I always come here for both my dogs and cat for anything I need and get referred to qualified places for other services that might be needed. Great place and staff that I fully trust to care for my pets.

Definitely do not recommend. I have been to this clinic about 3 times. The first was to have a canine flu vaccine and the latest was to have my dog tested for hypothyroidism. Each time I’ve been they tell me my dog is over weight (I know this already) and to cut down his feed. What they will not tell me is how much to feed him. I already feed him well below the calorie suggestion for his weight. They automatically blame it on too many treats (which he hardly gets) and overfeeding (he eats one cup twice a day). They also keep suggesting dog foods that contain grain when I have repeatedly told them he has a grain allergy. They are not concerned with finding the actual cause. I definitely feel like a walking checkbook in this clinic. They were even upset when I wouldn’t allow my dog to be taken in the back without me. You get what you pay for! Please choose a better clinic for your animal is they have a health problem! Update: The only feeding recommendation I was given was to feed my dog carrots as treats (I do), switch him to a grain containing diet (he’s allergic which they knew), and was told how to properly measure out a cup (I’m not an idiot). I have a bachelors degree in Veterinary Science and am a grad student in Animal Nutrition. Again, take your animal elsewhere!

The name is deceptive. They give you a sheet with a list of treatments and the estimated cost for each. You can decline certain things and then they bring you a new estimate with those items removed, but they add new things. (They kept pushing me for a feline leukemia and feline AIDS test, even though there is no treatment for those diseases.) I took our cat in for an upper respiratory infection and came back two weeks later when he didn't get better. On the second visit they suggested $300 worth of labs, which I declined, but I did pay for a shot of antibiotics, liquid antibiotics, a B12 shot, worm medicine, and flea medicine--none of which helped. The cat died two days later. The vet had said there was a possibility he had a disease that would attack his organs, but she had no trouble getting $200 out of me without mentioning that if he did have that disease, there was nothing that could be done. I find it hard to believe that she didn't recognize how near death he was. She said at the first visit that he was jaundiced, but instead of being straight with me about how sick he was, she gave us false hope and took our money.

I love this office. The vet is always very clear and the tech who normally works there is so informative. They really care about the pets and don't look at you like you are crazy if you ask how much something costs. I love it here, I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes for great care.

It’s been a while since I’ve been here, but I wanted to share my good experience. A couple years ago, I had to make the difficult decision to put my best friend down, a 7-year-old ferret named Sugar. I was inconsolable, but the staff here were absolute angels. Each one of them obviously cared deeply for animals and were so patient and understanding with me. I was nervous that their prices were indicative of the quality of service provided, but I was proven wrong immediately. They were so professional and knowledgeable, and I couldn’t have asked for better care in my companion’s final days.

Poor service don't waste your time. I called for directions and the women I talked to wasn't very pleasant or personable. Once I got there the whole office looked abandoned and I waited at the front desk for 20 mins. Nobody came to greet me or help me so I finally just left.

I would like to say thank you all for the card you sent and for being so caring and taking care of my little dog puppygirl .. god knows i didnt want to have her put to sleep but i do know it was for her best and you all new it as well . She lived a good life of 15 years and old age she just couldnt do it any more . Well thanks you all ,to all you all for being so loving and kind to her . Its ok as far as economy vet services come but the wait is always horrible no matter if you have a reservation or not. I'm pretty lenient with waits because I know things get busy but we always wait a minimum of 30-45 minutes after we have been brought back to an exam room. It gets really old. We will be paying a little more for better service elsewhere.

We had our first visit here last week with our 9 yr old pit bull, Fiona. My husband took her in for some digestive issues we've been dealing with and trying to resolve over a long period of time, with both at-home remedies and other clinics. Not that we don't appreciate all the hard work done by others, the staff here at Afford-A-Vet are phenomenal. I sent my husband to the wrong location, and yet both locations were so nice about our mistake and still took great care of our Fifi. There was maybe a moment's wait before they were taken back into the room, and the nurses were so sweet to our girl. They explained everything in completely understandable terms, didn't try to up-sale anything, and respected our decisions on the final treatment chosen, once given our options. Needless to say the experience was fantastic, but to top things off, they are very affordable. If you are looking for a new vet or just want a change, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Afford-a-Vet!!!

Amazing Service and So caring and kind. I took my sick dog here and after a complete examination and a fecal test, they recommended she go to a pet hospital for fluids and further testing. I said ok, let me settle up with you and I will take her and they said NO CHARGE, I said I owe you money you did a lot of work and they wouldn't let me pay! How caring is that!
