clean facility, very helpful, patient, & caring staff members. they hospitalized my 7 week old puppy for 1-2 days, he had low blood sugar, causing him to have seizures. the payment plan they have available made things less stressful! highly recommended!

The staff is caring, capable, and committed. It is a wonderful feeling knowing that my furbabies are known by the doctors and staff day to day and in the event of an emergency.

Jeff Pelfrey

They r not a good place to take your baby's too cause they do not tell you after you have them fixed that the price goes up do not trust them sad

Remmi Dunn

Kind, compassionate & professional staff. Also very accommodating. I always feel comfortable bringing my 2 pups to AAC, whether it’s for a nail trim or an emergency.

Terrible treatment of my dog. My 1 and a half year old puppy had torn a dewclaw down to the quip and so I brought him in to ensure that the nail bed was not damaged and that he could get proper pain medicine and antibiotics. It was late Sunday night around 8pm or so. The place was empty when I came in, as in, I was the only patient there at the time. They refused to let me go in the back to ensure that they didnt mistreat my dog. It took them close to almost an hour just to wrap his foot with just a bandage. When they FINALLY brought me back to get him, he was standing there stock still hunched over after He had a bowel movement in the floor just a minute before they let me back. I AM FURIOUS! He was so terrified, even when I called out his name, he acted almost as though he didn't recognize me. Then the doctor demanded to take a parasite test because it was "unusual" for a dog to do something like mess in the floor. (PROBABLY BECAUSE HE WAS TERRIFIED) I gave them the benefit of the doubt and let them run the test. The test came back negative. The doctor then had the audacity to ask if they could examine him again to make sure theres nothing else "wrong with his stomach". I quickly responded "Absolutely not!" There was no way I was going to let anyone else in that clinic touch him after how terrorized he already was! I had no choice to take him there that night, but like hell will I ever take him back there again, I'll drive to Lexington if I have another emergency!

I can’t thank Advance Animal Care in Richmond enough for all they’ve done for Lucky the past few weeks. I have been tore up about my cats diagnoses since I found out. They have been nothing but helpful and supporting. I could not ask for a better group to be taking care of my sweet old boy. ❤️

David Pendleton

The people have always been very nice here. They have helped me in the past when I had to put one of my dogs to rest. They were very nice and supportive. And just today I had to take another dog, Caesar, to them because he was hurting and not himself. The vet did an awesome job making him feel as comfortable as could be. Gave him some meds and some blood test, and now I have a better piece of mind of knowing that he is going to be ok. He is even starting to act like himself again, already! Thanks for your help guys.. keep up the great work.

Kathy Burdine

People are loving and caring with your pet. They care about your feelings. But I would mostly trust them to take care of my pet

Danielle Hitchcock

I have taken my dogs here for the past few years. We have always had excellent doctors until today. I will never see Dr. Ruggle again. If you want a doctor that makes you feel like a bad pet owner see her. When you don't want to have something done on your animal she will say do you know what that is? What is your background in that you know this? Really? You're not here to judge me. I won't judge you if I am your nurse. I also had my mom's dog with me who only needed labs redone and she tried convincing me my mom asked from him to have a whole physical and visit. I am pretty sure my mom would have told me if she wanted more than labs. All the other doctors are great. Stay away from Ruggle.

Rosalyn Cox

I've been coming here for just over a year now. Always get great service and the Veterinarians here are top notch!

Dan Schryver

Not very happy with this place anymore. Been going there several years. Money and payment was mentioned more than the well being of my pet. They don't care. My personal experience. Don't reccommend to anyone.

Tina Gilliam

One of the best animal hospitals I have ever visited. Great group of Doctors. The staff is very helpful and always there for your per needs. Dr.Tarter saved 2 of my fur babies lives, she is simply THE BEST. absolutely would recommend this establishment to anyone who wants great care for your fur baby. They truly care for your pets, and you feel like family.

Jim Lucas

Great professional and caring services for our pets!

I took my dog to this clinic because it was an emergency. She had a large cut on her side that needed stitches. ( I take damn good care of my dogs. She was playing in the back yard. and somehow did this to herself. I have a very dog safe home. I work hard to keep it that way.) While I appreciate the staff being very friendly and welcoming at 9:30pm I don't appreciate the service that they attempted to provide. The exam fee, Meaning for a vet to walk in the room and look at your animal is $102. They then proceeded to tell me it was going to be at least $875 to put stitches in my dog. That wasn't a definite price it could be be as much as $1000. ( Which means, were going to charge you $1000.) I told the vet that I couldn't do that. I'm an average working person with bills to pay and a family to feed. They then came back with the price of $275 to put a badge on my dog and give her some pain medication to "hold her over" until I could see my regular vet. Needless to say I refused their service and left. I ended up going to Walmart to buy bandage and gaze. Luckily the gash in her side was not bleeding uncontrollably. . The next morning I got up and took her to my regular vet. The total cost...$165. Avoid this animal clinic. It's highway robbery. Anyone who won't help you when your back is against the wall without a ridiculous fee....Is a sorry excuse of a human. I'll also add they wanted to charge me an additional $125 should my dog need CPR during surgery. WHO DOES THAT? Would you just let a dog lay there and die because I don' t have $125 extra to give you? I will never suggest this clinic to anyone. You might be open 24hrs, but you take full advantage of people and their pets who need your services after hours. To hell with you all.

David Deleon

Horrible experience. Waited in waiting room for 2 hours. My dog had large gash on neck. The assistant said it was a small laceration. Photo attached. They were shocked when we walked out. Never going here again. If I could rate negative stars I probably would.

Danielle Steele

Fast and friendly service!!! Absolutely caring and great with my bearded dragon!!! I was very satisfied and loved the kindness and respect they have for pets and people... I recommend this place and I know my baby Poe does to!!!

Mickie Witter

These are the best veterinarians I've ever had the pleasure to visit. They work hard to find answers when your pets are feeling poorly. I have complete trust in them. The staff is great, always friendly and seem genuinely happy to be there. Open the hours I need and you can get appointments when it's convenient for you. Thank you for your kindness and caring .

BF Wilson

Been using them for about 2mths. Great service and positive fun for our puppy and kids.

Ethan Ledford

Took my 8 week Boston terrier here at 2am because she had an allergic reaction to something causing her to throw up and swell up. They took us in immediately and were nice and knowledgeable they filled me in on what it could possibly be from ( which no other vets office was able to do) they had her feeling better in no time and sent me home with instructions on what to do for her. They even called the next day to check up on my Boston terrier. I was extremely satisfied and happy with this places work and professionalism I would recommend them to anyone they are great!

Recently my Beagle pup Roscoe contracted the Parvo virus. I was sure that he was going to die. I rushed him into the Advanced Animal Care clinic and they went straight to work on him. The staff, from the office workers to the techs and the vets, were all very professional and capable. I was an emotional wreck and they were all very comforting and kind. Roscoe was hospitalized for three days and they took excellent care of him. I probably called 20 times a day to check on him and they never once acted like I was a nuisance or anything. They answered each and every question no matter what. I cannot say enough good things about this clinic. I would recommend it to anyone who has a pet. Roscoe is back home now and to look at him one would never guess that just 2 weeks ago he was on death's door. He is back to his impish ways and I am loving every minute of it. Thank you, thank you, thank you to the staff of Advanced Animal Care clinic.

Great people that care for your pet! Always Open 24/7. Always willing to answer any questions or help with any of your concerns. Is the only place I trust with my dogs. I personally travel 25 miles each way to take my Libby and Piggy to see them. I highly recommend!!!!!

Barb Fitz

I love everyone at AAC! They took wonderful, compassionate care of my late Chulo Jackson; treated him like family! I have now entrusted them with the care of my newly adopted family member...Bitty!

Sara Reece

This clinic saved my dogs life! After a traumatic head injury, we were certain our dog was going to pass away right before our eyes. Being new to town, we took her to the only vet we knew, only to be turned away. The good part of that was they told us to come here. Thank goodness they did!! Our family still has our fur baby because of Advanced Aninal Care. As soon as we got there, they rushed our dog straight back to start caring for her immediately. The staff were very kind and accommodating. We were kept well informed. They told us we could call or stop by anytime. The vet and vet techs called us multiple times throughout the day to keep us informed of our dogs progress. I am very impressed with theamountof compassion and clinical expertise this clinic showed. You should definately consider taking your pets here.

Advanced Animal care has always taken exceptionally good care of my kids and our concerns. The Veterinarians on staff listen and answer all concerned questions. Mowgli and Sophie are happy pups :)

Been taking my dogs here for 2 years now

Marie Laws

My fur baby was sick and went to them ,I received excellent service, they were upfront about pricing.Explained why test was recommended.

Dave Gilles

Took cat there with blocked bladder on day 2. Very dangerous situation for sepsis and cat in extreme pain. Nowhere else to take him. They gave us no choice $1k+ multi day stay or euthenasia. Told us will need special meds and diet for rest if life. Found out could have put catheter to drain bladder and checked for likely infection causing blockage and sent us home. Follow up could be done at local vet. We took cat to death row...

Kenny Willis

It is nice to know you have a Advanced animal hospital, to take your pets to at anytime , any day , and they are there to help , with open arms to help your pet , and you with compassion .In emergency you get help as soon as you get there .

Melanie Fisher

Our little Yorkie had been sick for 4 days. We called the local vet we usually see and they told us it would be the next week. I called AAC and they got us in the next day. They were so nice. It was on a Saturday also. We could have brought him in when we called also. The vet and techs were great. Our dog is much better. The prices were very reasonable! We will be back and will recommend. They did not try to sell us unnecessary treatment or meds like the local place either.

I came home from work and my dog wasn't acting right. He couldn't walk and could barely stand, he was staggering like he was drunk and he's only 3. I called here and they told me to bring him in. I rushed him there and they got us right in, I told them that I didn't have very much money but I needed my baby to be ok and they could have everything I had. They helped me!!! They checked him out and diagnosed him and gave him medicine to help stop the infection, sent me home with medicine and all for 150 bucks. 150 bucks to help save my dog, THANK GOD! I'd pay that for sure if it meant not losing him. Thanks advanced animal care, I really appreciate you guys!

Thank you for your kind and well-informed staff---with a special sing-out to Dr. Ruggles, who explained the what and why of our cat's(Gwydion )illness and treatment with clarity and good humor, as well as providing printed information. Y'all are the cat's meow!

Crystal Blaine

Always nice and very friendly staff! Definitely willing to do what's right for your pet.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! After taking our dog to another emergency vet and being told it was going to cost $5000-$6000 for our dog to have an emergency spay due to Pyometra, we had to find another solution. Not to mention this other place was so unprofessional and pushy while not keeping us informed about what they were doing. Thankfully we found Advanced Animal Care. They were quick to get us back, kept our dog in the room with us during the exam and explained everything fully. We felt so comfortable with them and they were able to do the surgery and keep her for 2 nights for literally a third of the cost. They called us as soon as her surgery was finished and let us call as many times as we wanted to check on her during recovery. They even let me come visit her and stay in the room with her as long as I wanted while trying to help her eat so she could come home quicker. I could go on and on about this place but I'll cut it here. Thank you, Advanced Animal Care, for your superior service!

Wonderful facility and a wonderful staff!

This is the only vet clinic that has an “exotic pet vet” within 45 minutes of me. I only planned on going to this clinic for my snake but I think I’m going to start going for my dog too. Well worth the drive. Amazing staff. Very informative vet. So glad I decided to come here.

Juanita Barron

My fur baby is my life and I wouldn't trust anyone with my dog the way I trust Advanced Animal Care. Absolutely love the staff. They take the best care of my pet who is my child and I definitely give them 5 stars. You can tell they care for their clients.

Kayla Cox

We took our GSD to this facility and they treated him quickly they are open 24/7 and you may call and check in as many times at anytime wish there was one closer but will be back if there is ever another emergency

We have been using Advanced Animal Care in Berea for years, and we love them! We started going to Advanced in Richmond just last week for our guy, Toby. Dr. Connor and all the staff were so good with Toby--and so kind to all of us! We really appreciate the care we received, as well as the answers to all our questions. We will always stay with Advanced Animal Care.

Although it is expensive, they’re a place that saved my dog twice when he had two life threatening injuries (a lump in his throat about the size of a baseball from running into barbed wire which caused infection and some tumor that even they had never seen before that was growing in his organs) also we had a cat get shot (no joke) and we brought him down around 9:00 that night and luckily it had missed most of his organs but they treated him and he had a full recovery. I’ll say this, if your pets needing something basic like shots or even stitches then this probably isn’t the place, but if it’s something seriously life threatening then I would definitely come here. Even though it can be crazy expensive, they do great work.

Frank Domurath

Dr. Stacey Hutchison, whom we had gone to for years in Somerset, recommended Dr. Allison Conner because we moved here a few months ago. We have four cats, and had brought our oldest, Tootsie in for a checkup and annual shots. We got into a room quickly, and all the staff spent a lot of time with us and answered all of our questions. Dr. Conner was very friendly, knowledgeable, and allayed all of our concerns.

Angela Byers

I had my cat neutered yesterday and they did a great job with him. Today he is in no pain and feeling and doing great. Very nice and knowledgable staff and veterinarians! I would recommend taking your pets here!

Rachel Gaines

My husband and I chose this veterinarian because they had later hours. But we are so glad that we did. Twice we have rushed one of our pets to the emergency department here, and the staff have been great. They always take the time to talk to us, answer our questions, and explain what treatment options we have. We love them for our regular and emergency pet needs.

Sickof This place

Care more about money than they do the animals. Realistically, they have to make money, but prices are jacked way high and they don't even attempt to work with anyone. Prices could be lower and bc they are a ER, they could have programs in place to help out. Not just the bs programs based on near perfect credit.

Karen Cole

My dogs have attended the Berea office for the last four years. Recently, one of my dogs started having seizures on a Thursday night about 7:30 pm. I called my husband to come home and then called the Richmond office. They stayed on the phone with me and talked me through caring form y dog until my husband came home. They met us at the car and started caring for my dog in the car until they got him stabilized and then moved him inside. Moving him was not easy as he is 130 pounds, but they never complained. During his two night stay they let me call a million times to check on him, let me visit, and gave him the best care possible. They let me cry and comforted me, they answered all of my questions, and truly went above and beyond for my sweet Steve. I will never see another vet, ever. We are Advanced Animal Care customers for life! They are the only reason my precious boy is still alive.

My pup Kaycee was very ill and we were referred to this clinic via Locust Trace Veterinary clinic. The staff were awesome, all of the estimated costs were provided to us upfront, not to mention we could call 24/7 and there was always a friendly voice on the other end of the phone. My Kaycee is not 100% to herself, but things could have been so much worse if this clinic didn't provide the immediate treatment that my baby needed. Thank you all so much! Update!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My fur baby is 100% and back to her hyper self!!! The first picture is her now (healthy) and the second is her the day she was discharged (still ill).

Tamika Rose

I work with amazing people who love their job and will do whatever it takes to make your fur baby happy!

I just want to start out by saying Thankyou so much for seeing Bentley in such a timely fashion. You have all been wonderful in making me feel right at home with Bentley and his needs. Superior in service and customer care...their is so much more and I wish BENTLEYS brothers could experience the same. Thankyou to you all sincerely,, John Rusk

AAC took great care of Gracie Saturday on her checkup, she was a little nervous but did great with them all, after working in the Vet field for 18 yrs. and being a very protective pet owner I have chosen AAC to be the ones to care for my babies, the appointment times are so convenient but most of all the quality care and 24/7 brings me the comfort I need for my babies. Yes I know other Vets and have great respect for them with that being said AAC brings the quality care that meets our needs 24/7!! Thank you AAC for being there and giving us the comfort we feel!!! See you Saturday with Paris.

david collett

Great staff and open 24/7

My dog got really sick over the weekend and I had no place to take him because his regular vet never returned my call. Then I found out about Advanced Animal Care and even though it was an hour away, I drove up there and they were able to see my dog right away. Everyone there was so compassionate and took great care of my baby. I felt so comfortable leaving him there to be hospitalized. I might even start taking my pets there regularly!

Janice Canterbury

Wonderful, trusting Drs. and staff. Dr. Martin (founder) chooses the very best Veterinary Drs. We are very satisfied with this hospital. Totally trust them with our fur babies. One surgery and many visits. 5 stars!

Paul Weaver

We have used AAC for our vet needs for several years and are very pleased with the service and care we have received.

I have taken several of my Cairn rescues to Advanced. They take excellent care of them. If you have an emergency, it is so nice to have a clinic I can depend on if I need them. Example, on Christmas Day 2015, I had to take two of my rescue pups finding out they had pneumonia. Because they were open, these two babies were saved. If I had waited the next day, they probably wouldn't be alive and adopted to families today. I love the doctors and staff. I thank God that we have you all here in Richmond.

Kayla Townsend

3 days ago my dog had a cyst removed from his eyelid at advanced animal care berea. Today he managed to rip the incision despite me following post op instructions 100%. I had no other choice but to take him to the Richmond road location. Dr. Turner ( I believe was her name) informed me he would be needing surgery again, but it would be almost double the cost of what I paid in berea. I was given a range and asked for a 350.00 deposit. The medical assistant mentioned that the berea location didn’t give the appropriate amount of medication, but I can’t understand how she made that conclusion as she doesn’t know what specifically or how much was given initially. The other medical assistant was very rude with her mannerism, when I asked for more clarity on the price sheet she was basically reading off to me,She rolled her eyes, huffed, and forcefully slammed the door. I felt like they did not try to “meet me in middle” a term used by staff. I would have expected the surgery to be redone with proper instructions or a discounted surgery and that would have sufficed. I went back and forth on doing the surgery with them because it felt dishonest and I didn’t appreciate the staff or the vets laissez faire attitude. At one point I said send him home with pain medicine and I will see our original vet on Monday. Condescendingly the assistant came in and said this is 22 dollars and something ( I don’t remember exactly)is that doable for pain medicine until Monday and a new e collar? My issue wasn’t money; my issue was paying more money to a company that didn’t give proper after care instructions that caused us to waste more time and money and put my dog through another surgery and extend his recovery time. After talking with my spouse we agreed to just do the surgery when they informed us that the risk was a corneal ulcer if we waited until Monday. The assistant left to inform the vet. I waited and after an hour I went to let my dog pee and grab my bank card from the car. When I returned to the desk and laid my card on the counter the office personnel said they were no longer willing to do the surgery due to my complaints. So even though I was unhappy with their willingness to “meet in the middle” they turned a pet away who needed surgery and that admittedly said could suffer more trauma by waiting until Monday. The staff is Extremely rude, totally unprofessional, and clearly they do not care about the wellbeing of your pets, since they turned away a pet needing surgery. Take your pet elsewhere

I wish I could give this facility 10 stars. They saved my cat who was having severe breathing difficulties. They are fast, professional, very knowledgeable of new therapies and equipment, patient, and very kind. Every member of the staff I met with, or spoke with over the phone, treated me like my cat was the most important animal at their facility. They told me I could call as often as I wanted. Someone is there 24/7, so your sick or boarded pet is not left in a locked building all alone. They give a cost of service estimate and you can agree or disagree to any treatment offered. I have never had this type of service offered and I really appreciated knowing just where I stood and being able to make plans for his treatment. I thank them and thank Dr. Chism's office for recommending them.

Went there with every intention of just having a parvo test done on my puppy, on the way the nurse tells me the vet thinks we should do X-rays instead which I agreed with if course bc he's the vet. Price went from $37 for test to $65 for x-ray. After looking at x-ray vet determined she needed exploratory surgery bc it look as if something was blocking her intestines. Price then went way up!!! $1000 up front or surrender my baby to the clinic. When I denied the surgery the nurse came back in and stumbled on all her words to then inform me that the x-ray was $65 and now there is an exam fee of $120, which was never even mentioned to me. And all he did was stick his finger up her bum. After declining to pay the additional monies I was informed the bill would be sent straight to collections to have a negative effect on my credit. After be mislead and deterred from the actual reason I was going there in the first place which was the parvo test I was infuriated. I picked up my sick baby and took her outside. I never went back in to pay for the x-ray. All this clinic cares about is money. They switched the whole reason for my visit to make more money and when I declined the surgery they added an exam fee. So, after spending my entire night up with my puppy worried to death of how I'm going to afford this surgery the vet has lead me to believe she needed, I finally find a vet who is willing to take a small down payment and work with me on the rest. Take her first thing the next morning, they start the surgery about 1-2 hours later the vet calls and tells me there was nothing in her intestines and she tested positive for parvo. Now I am beyond disgusted to say the least. So my baby underwent a surgery that wasn't even needed all bc this place wanted to do things that cost more money. If she had the test done like I had originally wanted and traveled for she could have been treated and spared the tramautic experience of unnecessary surgery. I will never go back here and I will tell anyone who will listen to not use this establishment. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS MONEY!!!!!

Shannan Begley

This is the place to go for excellent and compassionate vet care. They are wonderful people!

Justin Whitt

Have been taking both of my cats here for over 2 years now. Cheap nail trims and they’re always friendly to my ‘kids’

Mark Darcy

Very clean and well organized facility. The individual waiting rooms have a sign asking you to contact someone if you are in there more than 15 minutes. I think this says a lot about their level of service and commitment to making the clients feel at ease and appreciated.

Catie Swift

Friendly affordable care for my pets

more worried about money than the pet. I took my pup there due to a broken jaw, they completely jack the prices up even let her talked to another Vet doctor who would fix it cheaper and she told him not to.

Bryan Branham

Many trips from the London Corbin area at odd times, late day or weekends.

Donna Rose

The best around! Caring people who go above and beyond. I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else!

Michele May

Compassionate, kind, caring, knowledgable, I have to say thank you again for being there! Last night, Buddy got up to go out before bed and he looked like he had caught a dew claw in his collar, but hadn't. He fell over and struggled to get up, and he couldn't move his right front leg. It was stuck up and out. I called Advanced Animal Care in a panic, told them the problem, and brought him right in. Apparently, during the ride in, the issue had resolved itself, and when I put him on the floor in the Emergency Room, he was walking fine, head down, tail up and wagging, searching for food. Flooded with relief that he was ok, and feeling a bit sheepish thinking I had over reacted, Dr Crane & staff were kind and understanding, offered to do a workup if I wanted and wished us well when I decided to just take him home and follow up with his regular vet. You guys are always fabulous with all of our furbabies, and us humans. I really can't thank you all enough for being there every day and night, just in case.

Robin Lane

I am so thankful AAC was there to provide after hours care for our dog who had something wedged against the roof of his mouth. He was in such distress and I couldn't remove it on my own. They were very kind to us and Fatz.

I took my 11 week old puppy to the Pimlico location for Parvo treatment. They called just a day later saying he was fine to leave and they also treated him for worms. We go pick him up he seems okay. We get home and he goes to the bathroom and it’s still liquid and pink. I called a day later to see what was up because he also started vomiting a symptom he didn’t have before along with not eating. I was told to bring him back and pay ANOTHER $500 deposit... when I asked well why did you send him home in the first place... “he perked up and didn’t go to the bathroom for 12 hours” when they didn’t know if he was ready. It day 2 he’s been home I’ve been doing everything they said and put on the discharge paper and it seems to only be getting worse. Why send my puppy home to die? You could’ve kept him and we could’ve afforded that...

Angela McCall

Absolutely amazing people! They were wonderful and caring. My fur baby couldn’t have been in better hands! I will be returning. Highly recommend this place when you have an emergency with your pet!

Betty Kane

My little dog swallowed a handful of cherry pits they were able to get her to bring them all up they were very friendly and efficient I will definitely bring pets back if needed

I'm really not sure how I can put in a few short words how impressed I was with this facility and its staff. I called Advanced Animal Care out of the blue after another clinic couldn't schedule me for an ultrasound for my Persian cat (who had lost 2 litters previously) until it may have been too late again. I was given an appointment for 2 days later. The facility was immaculate in the waiting areas and throughout the back; witnessed while walking back to the ultrasound area. Dr. Conner and her staff were friendly and informative. It was one of the best vet visits I ever experienced, and their prices were right in line with any other vet visit.

Kelly Ridings

We had to take our Westie to Advanced Animal Care at 1:00 AM for emergency services. She ended up having a blockage. During emergency surgery, the vet determined that she needed an intestinal resection due to necrosis. Needless to say, our Westie was in critical condition and required a prolonged hospital stay. The staff, technicians and vets were always willing and available to take my incessant phone calls, answer questions and allow me to visit in person. They were truly compassionate and provided the best care imaginable. I know some reviews have talked about the price or not receiving professional service. I completely disagree with those posts. Not once did the office hound us for money or refuse to perform necessary services. In fact, they were always more than accommodating. I would also like to point out that I utilized their services in an emergency situation. I expected to pay for an emergency. This is comparable to a human visiting a hospital ER vs. the cost of a visit to your local primary care physician. Emergency services are always going to cost significantly more. And at the end of the day, Libby is home and thriving. Thank you, Advanced Animal Care!!!

They have a very caring staff and I'm so glad that we have them 24 hours for emergencies! Thanks y'all!

Our dog was under their care for the past year and half. Their professionalism is not very good and they are not very timely. Our dog past away in 3 days from what they said was Congestive Heart Failure (CHF). We had taken her in many different times and asked them if she could possibly have CHF and we were denied multiple times. We also had taken her in numerous times where she was presenting with classic signs of CHF and each time it was blown off as something else that was causing it and they would prescribe her some medicine. They never put the pieces of the puzzle together and our dog presented very sick and died within in a period of 3 days from their lack of care and investigation. I would not suggest taking your pets here.

Dr Conner and Dr Tartar have provided excellent care for my five cats, one of which has a considerable ca-temper. They have many options available in-house but can also refer to specialists, if needed. You get round-the-clock care and monitoring for hospitalized fur-babies, which means a lot to my family.

My puppy had been acting a little weird for about two days and started throwing up the morning we brought him to AAC after speaking with family members who said it sounded like parvo. If you know anything about dogs you know parvo has a 60-90% mortality rate, its extremely unlikely for a grown dog to survive it, let alone a puppy, but we were going to try. So after reading a few reviews we went in with a heavy heavy doubt that this hospital would be truthful. And we were right. We took him in and specifically asked for a parvo test. After filling out information they tested him and informed us that it came back "positive". So we took him in and talked about our options. We stressed that we had a little less then $100 to work with right now, so they gave us an estimate for how much it would take for them to keep him until he was feeling better and it was anywhere from $900 to somewhere over $2000. I said that we couldn't afford that and the doctor pointed to the paper where I would sign to *decline* treatment. Its funny because she specifically pointed at the *accept* line, so keep an eye out. They gave us a pill to cut into fourths over the next few days and an IV bag to give him every 12 hours to keep him hydrated and charged us $80. Well, we took him to my regular vet about a week later after the pup was miraculously feeling better and he said that it didnt sound like parvo. My partner looked up the medication they gave us and it was for *motion sickness*. So, they charged us basically all the money we had to give our puppy an IV bag and the dog equivalent to zofran. Not to mention, like many many reviews before me, the **immediate** response to us not being able to pay for treatment was to euthanize our pup. Not to sound like a middle aged soccer mom but Im never going back to this place and I hope this warns others against it also.

Don’t waste your time or money. They told me the spat would be $75 but it’s $140 and the neuter is $115! They quoted me wrong and I showed up only to find the real price is almost double. Not cool.

I have brought several of my dogs here and have been disappointed immensely every time. Someone made the comment that they care more about the animals than the money, but on each occasion I've found the exact opposite. They want the money first and foremost, then they'll see your sick pet. I left crying when they told me stitches for my Westie would be over$500. As a physician I charge less than half that amount to sew up a similar lacerated human. I was happy when I first heard we were getting a pet ER in Madison County but I'm gusted by their priority on getting a big chunk of money up front. When they told me $500 I drove back to Berea crying all the way. I would see what I could do myself but I looked at his wounds when I got back to Berea and knew I'd have to pay their blood money. And the meds they tried to sell me for $60, you can get at Walmart or Meijier for a lot less. Get them to call a prescription into Meijier or somewhere else. I think the pharmacy was $15-20 for their $60 med. my guess there is that the vets working there get a chunk of the money they charge so they're going to order as much as possible. Doing an xray of your pets broken toe won't change his treatment an iota, but it WILL give them an additional $30-40. Their work was good but I despise any medical professionals who take advantage of people's grief when they bring their pets in. Theyre out for the money.

they are awesome there they helped me get through the sadness of having to euthanize my doggies Lucille at 13, Roy at 8 and my cat Streak at 13...in each case they mailed me a sympathy card where everyone signed it for me which I kept. Now I am taking my new little buddy Mick the kitten to them as his regular vet...highly recommended. - Leo Matthew Chamberlain

I took my pit in because he had bloody diarrhea and vomiting. They immediately tested him for parvo which was $45. The test came back negative (thank GOD)! They then allowed us into their clinic and checked his temperature and listened to his heart. This was justification for the $94 exam fee. Next they brought me an estimate for care cost for the next 24hrs, somewhere between $500-$800 to have him on IV fluids and to give him antibiotics and nausea meds. There was also a $61 hospitalization bill which must be for his kennel for the night/day. They recommended a series of test to check everything else about him beyond his illness. I told them he had already been fully vetted and I didn't need to run any extra test. Just find out what was wrong with him. We decided to pick him up after 12 hrs against their recommendation but it cut our bill in half. He had no other problems after coming home other than being weak from fluid loss and no food for a day but we had a $500 bill for 12 hrs of fluids (1 bag =$108) and a few injections of random antibiotics and nausea meds. The 4 cerenia pills they sent home with us were $37.40 and when I looked them up online, I learned I could buy them anywhere for $16 or less. They are absolutely a rip off and out for $$$. Similar treatment for my Boston terrier who did get parvo when she was younger and spent two weeks in the vet in bowling green, ky (Dr. Denton) was less than $500. It sucks that advanced animal care is the only option for 24hr emergency animal care in Richmond. After paying the $500 bill, they still can't tell me why my dog was sick.

They took great care of my puppy who was injured with multiple wounds. They got us in fast, kept her overnight, were very thorough, and the cost was reasonable for the services. Thanks to them for thier great care!

I love working for this team and taking my German Shepherd Mina to Advanced!

This place is ridiculously priced and setup to milk people for as much money as they can before all to gleefully suggesting euthanasia for someone's pet when the money farm has run dry. I paid over 600 dollars in lab fees and tests only to be told they had no idea what was wrong with my cat and that euthanasia was the best course of action for his pain. The only answer they could give me is and this is verbatim "with some kitties you just never really can know what's wrong with them" all the while asking for hundreds more in tests only to be met with the same answers of they dont know what's wrong with him. Ultimately he did have to be put down because he got to a point just shifting in his sleep caused him great amounts of pain. I will NEVER!! GO TO THIS GODFORSAKEN PLACE AGAIN!! And I highly recommend no one reading this go there either for your pets own personal safety and health! Please heed my warnings about this place these are pretenders and dont give a shot unless you've got the cash flow

Very friendly staff, and they actually care and show sympathy to those who have lost their pets

Late Tuesday night thought my little Yorkie may have licked some spilled brake fluid up . So in a panic we called spoke to them an thought it be best let them check him out .So at 11.00 pm we arrived sit there an hour an half before being seen Then they said didn't think he had consumed any but would like to keep him overnight I said no . They then insisted on giving him some fluids . I agreed then heard my 4 pnd Yorkie hollering twice they brought him back in looked awful. Not satisfied at all with what they done then charged me 174.00 for that all they worried about is the money in my opinion very unsatisfied customer

My husband and I are the owners of Advanced Animal Care, but we're also clients! These doctors and their teams have saved the lives of two of our own pets. A few years back, Dr. Martin was at a vet conference when our tiny chihuahua was attacked by two big dogs and badly injured. I rushed her into Advanced where emergency surgery saved her life. This summer one of our dachshunds was experiencing abdominal pain and had to be taken to Advanced Animal Care. After a week of tests, x-rays, fluids, hospitalization and surgery she is back home safe and healthy with us and her sister :) Though we are certainly proud to be a part of a hospital like Advanced, more than anything else we are thankful - especially when we hold two furry members of our family that wouldn't be here without them.

I agree with some of these other people. All they care about is money. They told me they couldnt do nothing with my dog unless i had the money to pay before i left. What kind of place that says they care so much for animals can turn an animal away cuz there owner dont have all the money at once considering their prices are outrageous. I think im gonna just stick with the vet in ravenna they were actually friendly an the vet actually told the woman at the desk to make to make my visit cheaper since i was buying medicine an stuff for him, to make it easier on me is what she said, now that is the kind of place where they actually care about ur pet an understand everybody doesnt have the crazy amount of money for vets an stuff but still want to take care of their pets.

I wish I could give them 0 or maybe even negative stars. They refused to see my pup. Overheard the vet who wouldn't even look at him unless I had $140 up front tell someone in the back that's what happens when you pick them up off the side of the road. They estimated it would be at least 900 after the initial exam. These people do NOT care about the animals. At all. Was even going to surrender the dog if that's what it took to make him better. Nope. What a joke of a vet. If you have this little passion for animals, why are you in this field anyways? Oh I know, because it keeps your wallet fat. I've read other reviews like mine that sound very similar to my experience with this place. Avoid going here at all cost! Also, they keep reading my facebook messages and not responding. i simply asked for information regarding their ethics and policies. they also have responded to positive reviews on their facebook but refuse to reply to negative ones. horrible!

Do not take your pet there. They lie about pricing and sent my cat home while he was extremely lethargic. This was a terrible experience

We had an emergency with our dog who was attacked by a larger dog. We were visiting a friend in KY and had to find a vet to take our dog. Advanced Animal Care was OUTSTANDING. The entire staff was unbelievable in caring for the pet as well as the owners. The doctor and staff made sure we were informed of everything that was needed to take care of our pet. I cannot say enough for all they did.

Four years ago I was in a panic. My little kitty of 9 pounds was acting very strange. At midnight I called this vets office because they were the only ones around that were open. They did what they could at the lowest price possible and saved his life that night. He has been in perfect health ever since. For this reason I took my brand new puppy in yesterday, had his exam done and was a little worried. I was worried because certain vets offices won’t even see the breed of dog that he is. They were all amazing. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. They fell in love with him as quickly as I have. The appointment and exam took very little time, and we got everything done that needed to be accomplished. Four Year Strong and I will keep coming back with all of my babies.

Dr. Conner and the staff have always been very pleasant to deal with and I know they care for all the animals they see. I would certainly recommend Dr. Conner.....yes they are running a business here but I know deep down her and the rest of the staff want nothing but the best for all the animals that come in through their doors.

Took my dog to them when it was in respiratory trouble and died. They were very good, patient and understanding. I would recommend them to anyone who loves their pets. Lola Lewis

We saw Dr. Godman. He's wonderful with the animals and willing to work with you to figure out how to treat it. I can't say enough good things about my experience working with him as my large animal vet.

Had to take my dog in on a Sunday to be seen and was very pleased with all the staff. They were friendly, accommodating, and understanding as my dog is a rescue that was abused and is/can bite but they treated him very kindly. The veterinarian seemed very knowledgeable and explained completely her diagnosis, thoughts on treatment, and medications he would need to take. They faxed the details of the visit to my regular veterinarian and they had received this on Monday before I called to make a follow up appointment and provided me with a CD of his X-Rays to take to his follow up visit. I will have no reservations about taking him to Advanced Animal Care again if needed and will recommend them to anyone who asks about regular/routine care or need for emergency care.

Our family was very pleased with how quick the AAC received us upon arrival. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Our sweet baby May was in fantastic care by both the tech and the vet. The vet was extremely informative and answered all of our many questions relating to May's condition. She was also extremely gentle and loving with May, who is terrified of people outside of her family. I highly recommend Advanced Animal Care for emergency care for pets.
