Let me start off by saying that at first, I absolutely loved coming here. Charlotte (I think it was?) was wonderful each time we would see her and was great with my dogs, so I was very upset that I had to make the decision to leave. Our first bad experience was back in February when I brought my dog in to get his heart worm test/preventative. I brought him home that night and gave him his first dose, and about an hour afterwards he had a seizure. I called the emergency vet, they asked what kind of dog he was (Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler mix) and immediately knew that the seizure was more than likely a side effect from the heart worm preventative (made with Ivermectin). They said it was a common side effect for his breed and that he should have been given a medication without Ivermectin. If you google the medicine, that is one of the FIRST things that pops up. I called Wycliff the next morning and they apologized saying they were unaware of the issue with his breed. I decided to give them another try thinking maybe it was just an honest mistake the first time. I went back in May to get my dog's annual shots updated and to talk about putting him on some anxiety medicine. (Since the seizure in February, he has had HORRIBLE separation anxiety and he has been super aggressive towards strangers.) Our appointment was at 4:45, we arrived 10 minutes early, and we sat in a room and were not seen until 5:18. When Dr. McCallum and Peggy came in to talk, the only time my dog was even touched was with me holding him down and Dr. McCallum giving him his shots. When I left I noticed I was charged a $30 exam fee.... but my dog wasn't weighed, his heart beat wasn't checked, he didn't receive a full 'head to tail' exam like mentioned on their website. Peggy called the next morning to talk about the anxiety medicine and when she asked me his weight, I asked about the exam fee I was charged because he was never weighed and I wasn't sure what his updated weight was. She was caught off guard and told me that I was charged the fee for the doctor's time and said she would look into it and see what she could do... Later in the day I asked my mom, and a friend to call Wycliff and ask how much an exam would cost and what all it would include: She told both of them it would be $30 and would include a full physical exam from head to tail. So she lied to me and charged me for a service that was never even provided. At this point I didn't even want to go back in and argue with them about getting my money back. I went to Olathe Animal Hospital the next day who was wonderful with my dog, and we got him started on an anxiety medication. The vet and vet tech knew how to approach him and earn his trust, and he was a completely different dog than he was the day before in Wycliff. My dog had always been protective, and questionable about strangers but up until the last few months he had never bitten anyone. He's bitten me once since then and gets so mad when he knows I'm about to leave for the day - it used to not even phase him. That seizure completely changed his personality, which could have been avoided 110%. I wouldn't trust them again no matter what after these last two experiences. I wasn't the one that went to vet school. I trusted them and because of it, my dog will be on anxiety medicine for the rest of his life.

We have taken our three cats to Wycliff Animal Clinic for routine visits, spaying and neutering, and boarding services since it opened. The staff is wonderful, Dr. McCallum is great, and the hours are convenient. I've recommended their office to a friend with a dog, and he now uses their services. I trust them.

I have been to many vets and groomers in my life, but Wycliff is by far my favorite. I live in Missouri now and still travel to see them (passing many vets on the way) because of their kind staff and great prices! They take such good care of my dogs, and I am thankful to have a vet that I know my dogs like going to. HIGHLY recommended Wycliff!!

Best little secret place to take your beloved fur babies without fear or any anxiety that they will not be cared and treated like family and at the same level as their human parents provide. Nothing but the best every time, from vacinnations , boarding, or the recent chigger bites always outstanding and compassionate. Looking forward to taking them to the pool to play and the activity boarding center they recently opened, and of course take some photos.

everyone is knowledgeable, courteous and friendly.

I called to get information, hoping to set up an appointment for a puppy that I rescued from a poor situation. Instead I was made to feel bad about the fact that the previous "owner" hadn't started her on shots yet (something that was out of my control and part of my reason for calling in the first place..) and was put down even further when asking about a payment plan, just in case something serious was found during the appointment. I just wanted to help this poor thing now that it is in my care and instead got off the phone in tears. The dogs may be the patients but good customer service towards their owners goes a long way. I wish I could give zero stars for the way I was spoken to.

First off let me just start this by saying Peggy is wonderful, very caring and kind. She needs to be working somewhere else. However Randy McCallum is the rudest Vet I have ever dealt with. Anytime I have had an appointment with him I have been lectured and talked down too, he is very all about himself. I have 2 dogs, one of which I have had 10 years and the other is 8 months old. I've been surrounded by dogs and animals my whole life. So this isn't my first rodeo. My husband and I took our 10 year old lab to him about 2 months ago, as she was having a skin problem and I was beginning to worry due to her fur coming out in spots. So I made an appointment and took her in. He didn't even look at the spots well and marked them up as ringworm. He said we can just treat that ourselves. Well now after two months of anti fungal treatments and medicated shampoos, and nothing working and her condition becoming worse, I finally took her to her old vet down home in Ozark MO, to find out it's actually a thyroid problem that older lab breads get and she needs medication. I told her what Randy had said and she said that ringworm is not as common in dogs as it is cats. So she diagnosed and tested urine to verify and a thyroid problem it was. Now after almost a week of her meds I am seeing a difference. I am so mad that he didn't take the time to do a skin scrape or urine test to find this out... Horrible practice there. I mean how can you just look at something and diagnose it. With that logic I can look at Google images. Now for the other half of the story.. It was about time my 8 month old needed a heart worm test done. She really doesn't like being held down and due to the stress of the visit she wasn't having it. He actually told my husband and I this "Well I have a way of holding her down that you really wouldn't like"... Isn't a vet supposed to be caring and kind to animals?? After all their motto is "Caring for your treasured companions." Sounds like he was talking about something boarding animal cruelty. And then went on to tell me how bad behaved my dogs are..... Ok well you can call anyone of the vets I have taken my dogs to and they will have nothing but praise for them. Honestly I think my dogs are just an amazing judge of character. I have only ever written one other bad Google review, when I put my name to something I really feel strongly about it.

I chose this veterinary clinic because it was close to my house and it was a small clinic. At first very welcoming. From my experience in the past small Clinics usually give better care and rapport with their clients. I did not receive this at all. I will never trust this vet with with good care of my dogs again they mis diagnose them made me pay for 4 rounds of medication the 1st one which didn't even work because of being mis diagnosed. I understood that happens so I stayed friendly using their services. BUT I called with an emergency the other day my eldest dog was having a breathing attack couldn't breathe I was in tears I call them and they tell me "well our vets not coming in till one not much I can do", so call another vet. When I email them to tell them about my experience they tell me" I'm sorry you feel that way, I be sure to make a note." What a joke.

The thing I like about this vet is their discounted vaccinations once a month. The vet himself is very knowledgeable and kind. Love the renovations they are working on. Going to be a great practice!

I absolutely love Wycliff. They have a clinic once a month for immunizations and it's much cheaper if you go to this clinic rather than just making an appointment. Also, everyone that works there is just so nice. I'm glad I found this place.

Dr.McCallum is very unprofessional and condescending, the kind of veterinarian that’s solely in it for the money. I brought my dog in for a urinalysis for a possible UTI (when I scheduled the appointment, the person I scheduled it with, Allie, seemed like she was unsure of what she was doing & kept putting me on hold to talk to someone else; I said & spelled out my dog’s name 3 times & she still got it wrong lol I think she was brand new or something). They tried to catch a urine sample, but Allie was so inexperienced with what she was doing that she made my dog too nervous to catch a proper sample. Instead of continuing try to catch one like any other clinic would, McCallum scrapped the idea of a urinalysis altogether & instead wanted us to come back tomorrow to have him sedated & x-rayed, which would’ve costed us $300+. He wouldn’t let me get a word in to object because he was too busy mansplaining how a bladder works & how to calculate dog years. I called again to ask him to please conduct a urinalysis before putting my dog through sedation, but he wouldn’t budge, completely disregarding my requests as the owner. I went to a different clinic, Oxford, & the doctors & assistants there are so kind, caring, experienced, & patient with animals. They gave him a urinalysis immediately which was wonderful. Wycliff is going to do unnecessary procedures & sedation on your pets to get as much money as they can out of you, & they’re going to let inexperienced employees do tasks they’re obviously not ready for.
