My daughter took our dog Bane here this morning. I was at work trying to pay our outstanding bill and new one so we could get care for our dog. He had an infection in his paw and needed an antibiotic. She was talking to me on the phone and the people up front and in back were making snide comments about us and how we expected to get medicine without paying our outstanding bill! I wasn’t trying to get something for nothing, I was trying to pay and get my dog the care he needed as quickly as possible. Maybe you should worry more about caring for our family members rather than making fun of an 18yr old who loves her dog and wants him to get better! Never going here again!!

Great place to take your pets weather they are sick or need shots,spayed,or nuetered. All the staff are wonderful and really care for your pet. They are very professional but in trying distressing situations, they are very caring loving,and understanding. Can't believe I never left a review. This is the only place we take our fur babies! The staff is great!!!! The docs are amazing! Our dogs can be little jerks sometimes but by the time we left our dogs were offering face licks!! Our little dog, Radar, seriously knows when we are on the street to the vet and his TAIL STARTS WAGGING!!! He gets excited to GO TO THE VET!!!! Haha! We love this place and we will never go any where else if we can help it.

The vets and staff all care about both the well loved pet and the person. They clearly explain what may be going on and will give you any options for treatment that may be available. They don't run unnecessary tests. From my experience, they are equally good with dogs and cats. Great place with positive caring people!

We use this vet frequently for all of our pets & I have nothing bad to say about it. I’ve waited longer a few times but a long wait time doesn’t compare to the superior service you get here. They truly care & will always put in the work for your fur babies. My dog is really timid but once we get her back there she’s calm & enjoys the attention she gets. I definitely will keep coming back.

It was my first time giving this Animal Hospital a try.. Best one yet there are always 3+ ladies at the front desk helping, taking calls and scheduling you for the next appointment and best part yet is, the first visit is free and it's also very clean and there isn't a line. We took "Spot" our 8-10 week tiny pup in and he got his first shots and stool sample. (Contacted me back within 1-2 day about the results) It was quick and easy process and at $42 for the puppy shots and the stool sample (free puppy sample kibble, how to take care of puppy guides, goodie bag etc..) I'd say it's a good deal. Well be coming back soon!! Thanks for helping us and taking good-care of Spot!

Cat was diagnosed diabetic and first words were an offer to put him down. :( After questioning if it could be treated, started giving insulin. Went home and did research on diabetic cats. Learned about testing blood sugar and monitoring readings. At next visit, vet said to double the insulin doses. I asked about testing the cat's blood sugar and other items I had researched. Received a lecture about not having any business doing research, etc. Never went back and found a vet who not only cared but encouraged caring for my fuzzy baby.

My dog had a broken leg. He's very active so they put a splint on it. The next day he managed to get it off, so we called and to see if we could get in about 30 minutes before there closing time. We were told that we had to take him to Mission Hills with no directions or telephone number as we were told to "look it up online". To our suprise our Vet was there till 6;30 as we couldnt find this mission hills but found another local Vet in Shawnee Mission who directed us to A VCA emergency facility that would charge us 3 to 4 time more than normal so and were told by this vet he should be okay until the next day as they were closed but tried to help us as best he could.. We took our dog back to Vca the next morning with no charge to the new splint. Knowing our dog however he got it off again. So we call again the next day and are told to bring him in around 4 o'clock. When we arrive we get the reaction of ; Why is he here? We explianed to what we were told and get the thrid degree from the same recpionist that gave us the run around the other day. I really am truly sad about this as we went to this Vet for over 30 years and we were treated so terribly when we tried only to take care of our family member. We will not return.

I literally cannot thank these people enough. I had gotten the call late in the afternoon that my dog could not be boarded because he needed some vaccinations. He was supposed to be boarded the NEXT DAY. I had called around everywhere. Luckily these amazing people got me in literally an hour after I had called. It’s ok. Be prepared to wait. I have never had an appointment here start on time. Today for my 10AM we finally went back at 10:28AM. We got there early thinking they would get us in on time. I should have known better. I have never had them start an appointment on time. BUT the doctors do seem to care about the animals and the prices are good. To get my dog updated on all her shots it was over $100 but that’s pretty good compared to what you would pay in Overland Park. We keep going back because the prices are right. The location can use a lot of updating but for the right price it’s worth it.

I first visited the Mission Veterinary Emergency & Specialty because they were 24 hours and my dog was in need of immediate care. After receiving no other options outside of a $4500 surgery, I decided to get a second opinion with the VCA Welborn Animal Hospital. Dr. Beesley was wonderful! She was informative, kind, and gave us options. We decided to give my dog antibiotics over the weekend and scheduled surgery for Monday morning. Total cost came to $1200 (much more affordable). Dr. Boone performed the surgery and was very careful with my Yorkie, kept in touch with us on her progress, and gave clear after-care instructions for us to follow. The treatment we received was total opposite and I am so appreciative. My Yorkie is on her second day of recovery and the staff has already called to check up on her. If anyone at VCA Wellborn reads this review, THANK YOU! You saved my family and I an enormous amount of grief.
