When we first got our 2 labs we went to Rainbow Valley and really enjoyed our visits. Due to financial circumstances we switched and went to a "cheaper" vet. When our Abbey got sick the "other" vet just gave her anti-vomiting medicine and would send her home. After this went on for nearly 2 weeks we knew we had to go back to Rainbow Valley and get another opinion. They took x-rays and saw that our Abbey had a blockage in her intestines and was literally dying. Had we waited much longer we would have lost her. They immediately took her back into surgery and removed the thing(s) that were in her intestines. (Silly girl ate a Christmas ornament) If it weren't for the great Doctors and staff at Rainbow Valley Veterinary Clinic we would have lost Abbey. We love them and are so grateful for their kindness and up-to-date technology to be able to correctly help our dogs. Needless to say we will NOT be switching clinics AGAIN!!!

Dr. Drake & his staff are so intense on doing as much to heal our family members. Dr. Drake & the staff is so kind and loving to my animals. I had one of my dogs that had to be quarantined for 10 days away from my home. My dog has always been a Nervous Nelli and after a few days, the staff realized that my dog would not make it 10 days, so they contacted the officials that required her to be quarantined and requested that my dog be quarantined at home for the rest of her time. The officials agreed.

Awesome! Dr. Drake, Dr. Miller, and all the staff at Rainbow Valley have provided excellent care for our pets. Two dogs and two cats. When Sampson, our oldest cat, started going blind, Dr. Miller was great with diagnosing and giving treatments. When Chester, our big Tom cat, developed a mass in his abdomen, Dr. Drake diagnosed the abscess, surgically drained , a shot of antibiotics and Chester, one week later is abscess free. Awesome!! Our two dogs (Cava-Poos) Zorro and Cisco Kid, have had all their canine vaccinations and annual check ups at Rainbow Valley from the time they joined our family as puppies four years ago. Exceptionally pleased with their friendly staff and the sincere care of our fury family.

In this way I can make an informed decision. My black Lab, called Princess, has been seeing Dr. Drake for years and is quite comfortable with him and the clinic. She has .also boarded at the clinic when I was out of town. The entire staff at Rainbow Valley is caring and compassionate and Princess is quite happy to be there whether it is for a medical reason or just a place to stay for a week. I have a new kitten, so I took her to RAINBOW VALLEY for her shots and I liked the staff as they are caring and professional, so I scheduled her for a declaw/ spay. They suggested she have pre-surgery blood work done, but because of the added cost I hesitated , but agreed.It's a good thing I did the test, because her platlets were to low and surgery would have caused bleeding complications. So now she in on medications and the surgery is postponed.Thank them for their fore-sight. I would recommend Rainbow Valley for the best care of your pet.

We were referred to Rainbow Valley by another clinic because our dog had a fatty tumor that needed to be removed and our regular vet clinic doesn't perform surgical procedures. From beginning to end, the staff at Rainbow Valley went above and beyond to make the experience a positive one for us. Dr. Drake did our consult and helped us understand our options and we decided to go ahead with surgery. Dr. Miller walked us through post-op care and was more than willing to help us the multiple times we needed to take our dog back in after surgery because of healing questions and concerns. Even when we had to put a couple of them to sleep, he did everything to help them feel their best throughout their time here with our family. Dr Miller and the rest of the staff always take excellent care of all 4 of our dogs. We have a small, a medium, and 2 giant dogs (Great Dane/mastiff) and they know what each of them need. Giant breed dogs have completely different needs than other dogs and I've always had complete confidence that my giant girls are getting the exact care that they need. Highly impressed with this clinic. I have a 17 1/2 year old cat who has been with me since he was 8 weeks old. Obviously, he is old so I am aware that the time I have left with him is short. This last weekend he got sick and was not doing very well. Two days of me thinking it may be time to let him go is heart wrenching. I called Monday morning and the receptionist was so kind and understanding. She got Jack in within a couple hours. When we showed up for his appointment, they put us in an exam room within 30 sec. Jack was doing much better and after a thorough exam and at least 15 minutes talking with the doctor, it was determined that Jack is simply old! The doctor did not push unnecessary lab work or treatment. Jack was slightly dehydrated and had a possible sinus infection. They gave him fluids and antibiotics. Offered him food and were happy to see him immediately start eating. I can not thank the staff enough for being honest and kind, understanding and not trying to make a buck on blood work that was not necessary. Thank you so much for making Jack feel better, and by the way...he LOVES his new geriatric cat food!

The staff is so warm and friendly and I was very impressed by Dr. Drake. He is so knowledgable and compassionate. Also their prices are lower overall than what my former vet charged. I highly recommend Rainbow Valley Vet!

My animals and I love the Doctors and office staff. You can go in and they remember your pet's names and your name. The office is quiet and not chaotic. We love going in to see Peg and George, too. We started our cat out at El Paso Vet. We did not like it there, as it was always noisy and chaotic. Yes, Rainbow Valley Vet costs more than El Paso Vet, but I gladly pay because I know that my animals will get great care in a serene environment.

Dr. Drake at Rainbow Valley Veterinary Clinic demonstrates compassion for the pets that he cares for in his practice. My puppy had an allergic reaction where her face swelled up, and she was agitated by itching. I was worried about giving her the next doses, but he made me feel better about continuing her shots. Dr. Drake took extra care and time to make sure that my puppy had Benadryl with each consecutive shot and only gave her one type of shot per visit. My dogs love him and the staff. The staff is kind and caring, as well. Thank you Rainbow Valley!!!

Dr. Drake has cared for all out pets the last 22 years to include two cats for their entire life span and our current pet, a 13 year old Norwegian Elkhound. The entire office is very compassionate, professional, and loving towards our animals. When old age and cancer took both our cat's lives, Dr. Drake was very kind in helping us deal with the loss of our sweet kitties. Definitely the best vet office in Derby!!

I have only taken my dog here a few times so far but both times have been very positive. I just had my dog neutered last week and they took great care of him. He is a little spoiled and hated being in the kennel and the front desk assistant held him until we got there which was so sweet of her! They also called to check up on him which show me that they really care about their customers. The building is very clean, staff is friendly and both times I've been there I haven't had a wait. Great place!

We have taken our dogs to Rainbow Valley since moving to Derby in 2007. They have taken care of our four-legged family members with loving care and helped us deal with putting two of our elderly pets to sleep with love and care. We have had teeth cleanings, surgeries, nail clippings, with no problem. Cost of procedures were notified in advance.

I couldn’t allow myself to give 5 stars, unfortunately. The staff was great! The vet and assistant were fabulous! Unfortunately, the groomer rubbed my husband and I the wrong way. She told us there must’ve been a misunderstanding with the groom we had scheduled because she had plans and wanted to be out by 2 , which didn’t leave enough time for my puppy to be groomed. As someone who works in retail and customer service I feel this could have been explained and handled differently. From a customer stand point, I would much rather have been told that she just didn’t have time, rather than her say she made plans and wanted to be out by 2. That made me feel as if she didn’t value me as a customer. For this reason, I will be cancelling my grooming appointment with her and will look elsewhere. I will however, keep my appointment for shots and health check ups for my puppy because the vet and assistant were patient and kind. They understood that my puppy was very hyper and playful and that he just loves people, rather than getting annoyed with how wiggly he was! Thank you guys for that!

They take care of all of our veterinarian needs, allow us to make appointments convenient for our schedule, offer some online features, and go above and beyond to provide us with what we need. I was very pleased with the care that Dr. Drake and his staff gave my sweet boy, Mr. Cave Johnson. Cave, a young, American Pit Bull, had ingested a toy reindeer. I had taken him to a vet near my home two times prior with no resolve. Cave was just getting worse. My co-worker suggested Rainbow Valley Veterinary Clinic when she saw how growingly concerned I was. Dr. Drake's staff got Cave in right away. They treated him very lovingly and carefully. That afternoon, after intense hydrating, Cave Johnson passed the toy on his own. Dr. Drake, however, asked to keep him overnight to make sure that he was out of the woods. He was!!! Cave is now back home, eating and playing normally and enjoying life. Thanks Rainbow Valley Veterinary Clinic for taking such good care of Cave and taking every precaution before declaring him safe to go home!

Rainbow Valley is amazing, I was very impressed by the level of care and attention that they gave my aging dog Emme. Dr. Miller went over and above trying to help Emme when we were facing end of life, obvious Dr, Miller love's animals and was with Emme to the end! I felt like she loved Emme as much as I do.
