We switched to Plaza Animal Clinic recently and couldn't be happier. The staff is friendly and caring. I brought Polo and Alfie in for a groom today and found out the appointment was actually made for later in the week. They took them both in despite being booked for the day. The dogs got a better cut at a better price than we're used to. Needless to say, we'll be sticking with them for the long haul.

They've taken wonderful care of my cat Nemo. I didn't know what was going on with her and they figured it out quickly and had teeth cleaning with extraction scheduled within a few days. Nemo is back to her old spunky self. Will be my primary vet now! Update: about 2 weeks after her extraction I noticed some swelling. I called them and they got me in immediately and gave me more meds to help with the pain. I love this place!

I can't say enough good things about the care at Plaza Animal Clinic! They're so good with my puppy, and we just tried our first round of grooming today. Charlie was returned to me ungroomed by a different place a month ago for being "too bad" to be handled. The ladies here did such a good job on him and managed to get him looking great. We are definitely lifelong customers.

Everyone from the front desk staff to the techs to the vets, this is hands the best vet office I've visited. All four of my dogs come here. The prices are great, scheduling is easy, and they do great work. They really get to know you and your pets.

Vets should learn to listen to both pet owners and pets alike. If Molly Melling and her assistant took my advice on distracting Isabella with food before her wellness exam/vaccinations, then today's visit would be less stressful on everyone. Instead, she recommended I start my cat on an anti-anxiety pill for future visits at your clinic. No, thanks! I even got a sheet on the pre-steps to take before taking my cat to the vet. Then she claims me encouraging her to administer my cat's rabbies vaccine was unfair to my cat because of how aggressive she and her male staff had to hold her down. We agreed to end the visit after my cat got the rabbies vaccine. I tried not to feel attacked as a pet owner, but she continued making recommendations I didn't need. She's looking out for the best interest of my cat. As am I. All she needed was to take a break and just supply treats. Vets in the past used this approach and were successful in treating my cat. And fyi, my father has a male cat who loves his belly rubbed!

Dr. Twigg and Dr. McLendon take great care of our dogs. I interact with Dr. Twigg primarily and he shows his love for our pets every time he sees them. The staff (Marianne, Bonnie, Sam, etc.) are all very friendly and helpful.

Our maltese was suddenly and critically ill when we brought her to the Clinic. Doctor Twigg and staff stayed after hours to deal treat her. After her the death we received a sympathy card signed by numerous staff and the doctor. The sadness of that day is lightened by the kindness and compassion shown by these lovely people who genuinely love animals. They get it.

I've been taking my critters there for many years and Dr. Mary Mountain and her staff have always been fantastic. Whether it's a simple abscess treatment for the younger cats or end-of-life care for my beloved dog they have always treated my pets well and with great care and empathy. When my dog was at the end of her life (at 14 years of age) Dr. Mountain's staff arranged for that to take place in my home as she was a very large dog -- they truly made that last tearful, tender goodbye comforting and as painless for her and me as possible.

They are good people. They have taken great care of my dog and cat. My pupper had an ear infection. They were able to get me in almost immediately so I could get him on meds. They demonstrated how to apply the meds and how/why the meds work. They have always been great to talk with and obviously care for animals. Highly recommend them.

Fantastic animal clinic. Absolutely wonderful staff. Everyone there is very friendly and knowledgeable with our dog. Other vet's in the area are very expensive and Plaza Animal Clinic is very affordable.

If I could give no stars I would. I left my playful, happy cat here over the weekend, only to come back and be told by Dr. Wages-Nichols that he "wasn't feeling good" and that they could keep him but it would probably be best to take him home away from the "stressful environment". This shocked me because I had not received one phone call while I was gone about his condition. Also, they told me he had flees (which he definitely didn't have going in) and that could be causing him to not feel good. I get him home and my cat can't even walk, let alone move. He just laid there. I call back and they say "Oh we told you he wasn't feeling good, just keep an eye on him. It could be the flees". I chose not to take that advice and rushed him to the ER. He was in DKA with HOURS to live. Within 6 hours of picking my cat up from this place, he had died. I called Plaza Animal Clinic and let them know what had happened and that I was not happy. I did hear from the owner the following day and received an apology, but I NEVER heard from Dr. Wages- Nichols. To give someone back their cat in that state not only makes me greatly question her competence as a vet, but mainly how cold hearted of a human you must be. I also question how my cat was treated during his time at the vet. I highly recommend thinking twice before bringing your animal here to be boarded or treated.

I’m sitting here staring at my very sick but improving (and wickedly handsome) cat and felt compelled to share how lucky we feel having this place around for our pets. We’ve been going to Plaza Animal Clinic for years and we were sad and a bit nervous when Dr. Mountain decided to retire. Within minutes of meeting Dr. Twigg, though, our fears were put to rest. The addition of Dr. Jack has been especially important and I cannot say how happy I am that she is our vet. Both of them know my cat Morris and our happy lab mix Buddy. Both of our pets are aging, and when we adopted Morris in 2013, it was love at first sight, but we knew that because he came to the shelter with FIV that he would have health issues at some point. Dr. Jack and Sam work so hard to keep my Moo healthy. They think out of the box. It’s difficult having a pet with a chronic illness, especially a slow-ticking and terminal time bomb like FIV. Knowing that I have these two amazing humans working for Morris’s health is comforting and important. His health has become more challenging over the past six months, so I need people like them in my cat’s corner. Everyone in this office is dedicated and passionate. I can call and simply say my first name and no matter who answers, they know who I am and who my pets are. My experience here is not special, or unique. I see other pets and their parents get the same love and care that my family does. This place is unique for that reason. I tell anyone who will listen to me about how special this clinic is. As long as I’m in Kansas City, these guys will be our vets.

Dr. Twigg is simply THE BEST VET EVER! We have four pets; three miniature dachshunds and one cat. All four animals have received exceptional care from Dr. Twigg and his team. From his front desk, to office manager, they always go above and beyond what would be expected from a "typical" vet clinic. I've had good vets before, but Dr. Twigg far exceeds any experience I've ever had. It's clear not only is he great at his job, but he loves animals. We have a senior dog who's 15 and Dr. Twigg is never annoyed or put out when I have extra questions about her health. I cannot recommend Plaza Animal Clinic or Dr. Twigg highly enough!

This vet nearly killed my poor puppy. A few weeks after I adopted her, I took her there for her booster shots. I asked them about a red lining I noticed when she pooped and if I should be concerned. I also mentioned she was licking herself constantly. They said that is normal. Fast forward 6 weeks later. My dog is throwing up and has diarrhea. I take her here and they say she just has an upset stomach. Luckily, I took her to a hospital the next day and they discovered she had a severe intussusception and would have died that night. She is negative for all bacteria, parasites, and worms. It is most likely due to an underlying GI tract issue, and the red ring was an indicator of a problem.. My puppy had to have 17 inches of her intestines removed that could have potentially been averted if someone looked into my puppy more carefully.

Dr Mary Mountain has been my vet since 1996. She and her compassionate staff are incredible with people and their owners. They've been amazingly kind and helpful through the year. I'm grateful for their love and support, esp when two of my cats passed.

Brad and Sam are amazing they took great pride and care for my 2 dogs. My Rottweiler is very lovable until it comes to his care or feet. Then a demon comes out in him. Brad and Sam knew exactly how to treat him and he was still the lovin dog coming out. Thank you so much for making his care easy and took the stress out of it. It is worth driving from the northland to PAC.

I took my cat here because it was really close by. My cat was scared, but the staff didn't seem to care. Ever other time I've been to vet, they've offered a room so that I could fill out paperwork and she could relax. I asked this time, and they did oblige, but the room we were in was extremely noisy. Normally does fine once we're in the room, my cat reverts to her friendly, loving self. Here she continued to be stressed, because dogs were constantly barking and howling and the bell on the front door was extremely loud and overall, the room had no sound proofing. When the vet came in, she didn't seem to be a real animal person - not in the way I want from my vet. Every other vet I've ever been to has been really sweet with my cat - this one seemed disinterested. Maybe this place is good if you have dogs. But I wouldn't take your cat here! I'll be going back to the place in Waldo.

We're relatively new to Kansas City and had been using a different vet. We found Plaza Animal Clinic when we sought a second opinion on a diagnosis (the diagnosis was made without any tests or X-rays, basically "take two aspirin and call me in the morning") for one of our Yorkies. We are so very happy we found them!!! Dr. Mary Mountain is simply amazing!! She's extremely knowledgeable, honest about treatment and prognosis, kind and compassionate. She takes time to talk to you and explain things and even provides tissues when necessary! :o) It's obvious that she truly cares about us and our fur babies!! All the staff members we have dealt with have been so kind, competent and professional, from the very first person we talked to on the telephone when we made the initial call. Additionally, we feel the cost for services provided there is very reasonable. We're so very happy to have a caring, quality animal clinic here and know our pups will always receive the greatest care possible from them!

Doctor Mary Mountain and her skilled staff are warm human beings who treat you and your pet as individuals. Rather than constantly pushing tests and procedures, she first works with you to settle on a level of care that you are comfortable with. If you are the lets-do-everything-we-can type of person, then your pet will receive the very best modern veterinary care. If you are the no-extraordinary-measures-keep-my-pet-comfortable kind of person, they work with you respectfully. They helped my elderly cat through her end-of-life issues compassionately, taking into account my views and feelings. They even sent a hand-written sympathy card after she died. Who does that? And, by the way, their prices are very reasonable. I appreciate them very much and recommend them every chance I get.
