I've been taking my furbaby to Dr. Armstrong since we got him as a puppy six years ago and he loves it. The original vet we no longer see, I believe his son has taken over or grandson, but, the care my baby receives is top notch. The remodel and expansion of the hospital is great.

PWAH Great!!..Groomer Sara Kaminski Terrible & Atrocious . I want state from the outset that the PWAH is an OUTSTANDING Vet and it's doctors and staff are wonderful. I will keep using them as my family has for years. That said I took my Shish Tzu 4 month old Puppy Roxi in to be groomed today. I sat down with Sara this AM in the lobby and made it clear to her (with her holding Roxi in her lap) that I did NOT want my dog shaved. She clearly said she understood that. Sarah shaved my dog's ENTIRE body save for the head and tail (and the head is very short). Roxi looks like a dog that had lice or a nasty flea infection and had to be shaved to treat her. To say I am very upset at the groomer would be an understatement and took me most of the ride back to my house to calm down. Again is this is NOT PWAH fault. I do not blame them and neither should you. I will NEVER have my dog Roxi groomed at PWAH ever again. I would like see Sara have her head shaved and she how she likes it after telling her barber to not do it. It would server her right for what she did to Roxi. She is going to call me tomorrow. I cannot wait to talk to her. Do not let her within 5 miles of your pet.

Just got off the Phone with them after taking our new kitten to get spayed to pay my bill. I'm thinking $100-$150 for all the work. Nope, $317, We have taken our all of our animals there 5 cats currently, a bulldog, for as long as I can remember but, will never be back. Should have given an estimate or something on that so I wasn't in such shock because I have 2 more at home that need to be fixed within the month. Guess they are trying to pay for that new facility quick.

Extremely rude.If you have an emergency, even life or death with your beloved animal, DO NOT even bother going here., you will be turned away! I walked away in tears, fearing my beautiful pet would not have enough time to live before getting to another Veterinarian during weekday & normal hours. Was there the second they opened.Did not matter.You need an appointment; and you can't be a first time client, you also need to fill out tons of paperwork & are more than encouraged to down load pre paperwork & appointments ahead of time.Many years ago this was a great place to go! WHAT HAPPENED?

Worse customer service ever. The groomer, office manager and veterinary was very unprofessional. They did absolute NOTHING to satisfied me as a customer or my pet. I won't recommend them to friends and family. New and improve place but nasty attitudes. I'm sure I'll get better service elsewhere.

I have taken my rescue Cavashan there twice to be groomed. Being a rescue he is not able to be groomed on a regular basis and is matted when I take him in. I gave specific directions on how he was affected the first time by razor burn. Again he was burned to the point of agony. Last time I returned him for an additional charge of $180 to relieve his pain. This session cost me $400 to receive an abused little dog. I will not take him there again.

If I could give them 10 stars I would. I originally called Platte Woods because my dog was diabetic and recently became epileptic and couldn't keep anything down, and they were the only office that was open. At the time I she was being seen at another vet office, so I didn't plan on them giving me much information with out seeing her. I spoke with Dr. Armstrong and he talked to me for the longest time explaining every little detail that could be going on with her as well as things to look for before I needed to bring her in. Then once I informed him that I was from the medical field he then went into even more detail to help me further understand and relate to what her body was going through. All of this for a dog that wasn't even a client there. Having a dog with all of these medical issues has been very tough on me. They have been there every step of the way to answer every question I may have with not just an answer but with reasons and descriptions to help me understand has made it so much easier. I have talked to multiple vets here, and each and everyone has been caring, empathetic and so knowledgable. I will never take her anywhere else!

The absolute best veterinarians in the whole wide world!! Dr. Armstrong and his son Dr. Tyler obviously LOVE what they do! They are both incredibly resourceful, intelligent and thoroughly enjoy playing with my baby dogs! Both have saved my dogs from illness or disease several times over the past several years! I feel my animals get good care here. Unfortunately the cost is pretty high comparative to other places in Kansas City. So they have a nice new building that they likely need to pay for it does make me want to go somewhere else for shots for my animals when it is almost four times the amount than it is at other vets in town. Not everyone in Platte County is rich.

I have been taking my shih tzu's to Dr. Armstrong for years. I love this place. Dr. Armstrong has great bedside manner when it comes to pets and knowing how to treat his patient's. Dr. Armstrong is very good about discussing all options with you when it comes to treating your pet. He has always been very nice, helpful and good at educating you. He is also very good at returning telephone calls and following up on any concerns you might have. I would highly recommend Platte Woods Animal Hospital!!!

How does this place have a good rating? I'm disgusted by the way this place treated my family. I came home from work and my 4 year old cat was not breathing well, so with limited time to get him seen we walked into here 15-20 min before closing time but we were turned away and referred to the emergency vet without even so much as a peek to determine if our situation was dire or not . If you guys want to close at 5:30, change your hours. In the least, have the common decency to do a welfare check before dismissing anyone. I shouldn't have to say this, but anyone who works in patient care should be caring and compassionate. No one should ever feel like we felt especially when one of your family members are in distress. We ended up making it to a competitor with 5 min before closing. They met us at the door and took care of us immediately, they were compassionate, caring, and treated us with respect. You could take a page out of their playbook. We will never ever set foot inside this building and I will make sure none of my friends do either. Sadly we live close.
