This was our first, but certainly not our last visit to Northrock Hospital For Animals. My four legged friend, Lucky, a Pekinese, were treated with respect, especially to her health needs. After making the appointment I contacted our former care provider of many years to have them fax Lucky's records to NHFA, so they were amply prepared to deal with her needs. The desk staff were cordial, efficient and professional in starting what we hope will be another long beneficial relationship, for Lucky's sake. The Doctor seemed quite knowledgeable as well as very caring. I would highly recommend their expertise to anyone who wishes good care for their animal friend.

We have taken our dog Scrappy to Northrock Animal Hospital ever since we adopted her 7 years ago. She has had several severe health problems over the years and Northrock has always been absolutely amazing. Dr. Weidler is so kind and caring, as are all of the staff. Yes, this probably isn't the cheapest place to take your pet. But I'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for. I really don't think Scrappy would still be with us today if it wasn't for Northrock.

I have been taking our two greyhounds and two 15 year old cats for over two years and have had consistently wonderful, caring service! I live up near Valley Center, but it is worth the 25 minute drive to have such excellent and compassionate care. Dr. Rypma has been our mainstay, but other doctors have been so thorough and caring as well. And each one of the staff is delightful, kind, knowledgeable, supportive. We have been customers with Northrock for many years. They have seen us through many different animals too. We battled cancer with one of our cats and Dr. Kelly gave us such good care. I really felt like she loved him as much as we did and she did all she could to save him and make his life as comfortable as possible. We've been through most of the vets there and they and the assistants are compassionate. caring, love individuals. I know with them,my pets are in good, caring hands.

Dr Weidler and Dr Unruh are the best. My beagle Belle got a cancer diagnosis, at age 16 I opted for her to just go to sleep and save her any pain. Dr Weidler let me hold her while the medicine was given. I was a crying emotional mess. When I looked up to speak to Dr Weidler, he had tears on his face also. It meant so much to me in that moment for someone to recognize and acknowledge my pain. I now have a 7 year old chihuahua and a 10 week old puppy. These are the doctors they see..

I started going here when I first moved here in 2006 because they were close. I brought my 10 year old Chow with me from California, and she started having problems, as any elderly dog will. I went through a year with my Chow before she had to be put down. By then, I had adopted a cat, and have now added another cat and a Great Pyrenees. If I weren't extremely pleased with this clinic I wouldn't still be there. I am probably pickier about my pets' health care than I am my own. They do keep telling me my pets need to lose weight, though. I think they are in cahoots with my own doctor.

Dr. Weidler and staff are amazing! Have been taking my pets there for years but most recently the care they provided my 14 year old cat who had a very severe illness was exceptional. Without Northrock, I do not believe I would have had the extra 6 months of time I was able to spend with him. Highly recommend them!

Every time I visited with my dog they took wonderful care of us. From emergency visits because my dog believes he can eat anything to routine care, I never once had a bad experience the 5 years we went here, and the only reason I'm switching vets now is due to moving out of state. I will miss the entire staff at Northrock--and given how much my dog loved the treats he got from them he just might miss them too.

They take such good care of our cats! They were both shelter animals with lots of health issues including malnourishment, worms, food allergies, anxiety, barbering, etc. and they are doing so well now thanks to the care and advice we've gotten from Northrock. THE VERY BEST! I have been taking my pets to Northrock for over 15 years and have never had a bad experience - not once! The staff is amazing - professional yet really wonderful with the animals. Always willing and able to get you in if you need to see the vet - my dog has allergies and sometimes her symptoms just hit her out of the blue but they ALWAYS get her in for some relief. 5 stars every time!!

When I take my Siberian/Mix Husky Shadow I am always pleased with the condition of the Lobby and exam rooms. The staff is very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. As far as the attention the is given to Shadow, he looks forward to going to Northrock. He gets upset when he is in the back of the Jeep if I stop by and I don't take him in. I would recommend Northrock Hospital For Animals to anyone that had a pet and wanted to make sure that he/she were well taken care of.

I first decided to go to Northrock Hospital For Animals back in June of 2014. My decision was based off of other reviews. So far, I have yet to have a bad experience. Each time I have gone for my dog's check up and shots, they have been very very nice, respectful, helpful and kind. What impressed me is their love for animals. My wife and I recently adopted a dog this month and it surprised me how much they cared about the dog's well being. They insisted we bring in the dog periodically (free of charge) to let the dog get comfortable with trips to the vet. On those trips to the vet, they just want him to walk around and say hi to the staff and make them happy visits for the dog, since the dog was a shelter rescue dog and had trust issues. The prices aren't the cheapest but they are by no means unreasonable, especially for the experience you get. I would recommend anyone who truly cares about their furry friends, to go here. The veterinarian doctor is very nice and answers all my questions, as I had a lot to begin with. Thanks Northrock Hospital, for what you do. Keep it up!

I think Northrock is amazing! I have 3 large dogs and have taken them there! They aren't to pricy and do checkups very well. They are very knowledgable and friendly! One of my dogs does not like other people, however, they always make him feel comfortable and we don't really have any problems. They office is always very clean and so are their exam rooms. They take the time to get to know your pet and are always there to answer any questions and concerns you may have! Their boarding space is also very great. It is a nice quiet environment and they let your pet out 3 times a day for walks and play time. They always accommodate your pets needs while they are staying there. Nice air conditioned room so they aren't in the heat. I wouldn't take my babies anywhere else!!!!

I have never experienced a place better than Northrock Hospital for Animals. They treat me like the clinic is there just specifically for my pet only. Everyone in the clinic always greets my dog and treats her as if she belongs to them personally. My dog looks forward to going in once she realizes we are there and runs up to the staff to greet them, and loves her doctor. She has had two surgeries there, and dental cleanings, and other procedures. My dog is ten years old and healthier than I would ever have imagined and I completely credit Northrock for this. Dr. Rypma has given my dog the best care and given me the best advice for my dog, and I have never been taken advantage of. I love all the staff there, and even the staff that work in the back treat her with such special care. It is a blessing to find such a trustworthy place for my dog, who means everything to me.

We have received surgical services, vaccinations, and a week long stay for a sick feline, all at reasonable rates. I love this pet hospital! I took my dog there because he was not feeling well. It was determined that he had a muscle sprain. The issued him medications and my bill wasn't an arm and a leg! My family has taken our dogs and cat to Northrock since they opened at the 29th St. location many years ago. They're always so kind and patient, with animals and humans both. Dr. Unruh sees our pets now. She's a delight. You can tell she truly loves taking care of animals. We used the clinic at PetSmart for a year, trying to save money with their pre-paid plan. It was awful. Our pets were no more than numbers there; i.e. 15 year old dog=prescribe expensive food and unnecessary treatments. I once heard my little dog scream in the treatment room when they finished a procedure after the anesthetic wore off. Never went back. The staff at Northrock goes out of their way to make sure my animals feel safe and loved. They even got my cat to come out of her carrier on her own!

The pro's there were so great with our pet. They treated him with love and affection just as if he had been a patient for years! Sincere, compassionate,detailed , cost-conscience but not at the expense of quality of care. They truly care about the animals. Dr Emily got down on the floor to help our 10 yr old Great Dane with bone cancer over the Rainbow Bridge. She cried too. I cannot say enough good things about the entire staff. They all are superb They also educate the owners about their pet's condition, using several sources. Then they check to make sure that the owners understand what has been explained and/or read.

Erin is amazing, she really made sure to make me feel wanted. They quickly made accommodations for my sick kitten and I and now I take my two kittens there for everything. Also, an added bonus for me, Dr. Unruh also works on corn snakes and other reptiles. I don't know where all these amazing reviews are coming from. I took my two dogs there recently and they nickel and dimed me. Be careful what you allow them to do to your dogs b/c it will cost you. They also suggested a few items for my dogs then just tacked it on my bill before allowing me to decide if I wanted it or if I wanted to but it from them. Between the two dogs for a yearly exam it was $300. The yearly exams performed on the dogs took less than five minutes and each exam was different, which made no sense. I wouldn't go here unless you enjoy breaking the bank and getting taken advantage of.

I used to love this place, the doctors are so great. But the support staff has really changed and dropped in quality, from the doc’s assistants to the front desk. Unfortunately, because we interact with the support staff more-so than the actual doctors, it matters very much that they are competent and friendly. I now have the discouraging task of finding a new vet that I like as much as I USED to like Northrock, because today’s interaction was the last straw for me.

I love this place. I would not take my fur-babies any where else! My cat Jack had to have surgery recently. He was so well cared for. He hated his cone of shame and pulled it off often. My dog had an allergic reaction to a bug bite, which caused her eye to become severely inflamed, to the point where she was unable to see. I called on a Saturday morning, and even though they were booked solid and I had not been there before, they were able to get her in to be seen that morning! The care that my 13 year old German Shepard received was top-notch. They even called a few days later to follow-up and ensure that everything was going well. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a caring and compassionate vet clinic in the Wichita-area!

We love this office and wouldn't go anywhere else! They go up and beyond for us. We followed Dr. Weidler from his other office, but would gladly see any of the doctors. They are not only vets, but they are our 4 babies (cats) doctors, and are as important to us as our human doctors. Please do not hesitate if you need to find a new vet, or just don't have a current one, to go to this clinic. The personnel are all so wonderful and friendly. Dr. Rypma and her staff took very good care of my little boy Sarge until he passed. They were very kind and caring, to both Sargie and myself. Loosing my little boy was one of the hardest things that has happened to me and the entire staff sent me a very kind card with one of the most touching sayings about the way we feel about our pets. When I get another dog, I won't consider any other vet to take them to. We spent no time in the waiting room/lobby. We were moved right into an exam room. (At our old vet in Bel Aire, we always spent 20-30 minutes in the waiting area, with no explanation about timing.) Dr. S. was patient and thorough; he carefully explained everything and made sure I didn't have any other questions. Highly recommended.

Bert has been cared for by all the great crew at Northrock since he was a rescue at 6 months (he now is 10). He is always greeted with a smile and he responds with energetic tail wags.
