Rude receptionist. I work with a rescue and our normal clinic was booked out for weeks on surgeries. This clinic was recommended and I thought we would give them a try. When my call was answered I was directly placed on hold, no problem. When the woman came back on the line I told her I would like to know the cost of a neuter. She replied, in what I perceived as a flippant manner, "what are you wanting?". I was taken back by her attitude and I said, "I'm sorry?". She said "a cat or a dog". I said "dog". She said "well you didn't specify which it was". I hung up. I'll happily wait for our regular clinic. At least they are polite on the phone.

The doctors are okay except they don't have time to talk to you on the phone. They leave it to the Secretary who is very rude and limited in her knowledge to really help you. My dog has cancer and I was trying to obtain so me kind of palliative care injection for nausea if possible because my dog cannot take pills. She pretty much told me that the doctors are too busy to talk to me on the phone. Soooooo

The vets here are very friendly and kind, but after multiple encounters with the tech Jessica I have decided to stop coming here. Her hateful and judgmental comments and rude demeanor are enough to detour me from coming back to this clinic and instead going to El Paso in Derby. If you're looking for all around compassion for a facility, this is not one I would recommend.

A month ago we had one of the worst nights of our lives when our yellow lab, Libby started having seizures. She started having them around 1am and lost control of her blatter at about 4am and she could no longer walk or see me. She would cry until she got somewhat comfortable and fall asleep in my arms. Our baby girl was sick and was not getting any better so at 8am we got her into the car and went over to Mulvane animal clinic where there was hardly anywhere to park because of how busy they were. I called and explained the situation and they said we could meet them by the garage door as our baby couldn't walk and I could not leave her side. The Doc Dr. Lance and one of the assistants were out there to check on Libby within 90 seconds..... The only option was not what we wanted to hear but it was all they could do for our baby to stop being in pain. We didnt care about the cost and my husband literally just gave the assistant a card while the doc went to get the supplies needed to give the injection. The doc treated my puppy like nothing was wrong and spoke to her like this wasn't going to be her last visit. The assistant and doc were so kind and compassionate. Once our baby was finally asleep for the last time they even treated her remains with the upmost respect... I will always take my fur babies here and only here after the way Dr. Lance and the assistant treated us during this horrible time. I actually just looked at my credit card statement and for the emergency visit,injection and private cremation service we paid 150.00 which is pennies on the dollar compared to the emergency vet we called when our pup had her 1st seizure. They wanted 250.00 just to see her before any treatments..... Thank you Mulvane Animal Clinic

❗Warning depressing post but I feel like others should know to protect their baby❗❗ If I could I would rate them negative stars My name is Sarah Kramer I live in Peck Kansas and this is my tragic story about how I love my favorite little guy in the world. Tucker is half dachshund half yorkie he had a sore by his bottom where he got fixed he was actually fixed in 2017. On Monday July 22nd 2019 morning we took him to Mulvane Vet Clinic. He was such wiggle worm so they gave him gas to check out the site. He was completely knocked out. The vet didn't ask if he had eaten anything didny ask of allergies. When They went to take the gas mask off they noticed he threw up and then found out he had choked on his own vomit. They were not with him to monitor him waking up and getting sick. They tried CPR but it was too late. This was such a sudden awful death and he was my baby boy. Mulvane Vet took full responsibility for their negligence that led to my dog's death. My family and I are extremely heart broken. Even after taking full responsibility it took days talking to lawyers, the vet clinic being rude hanging up on me to finally pay for his after care. They still have yet to call apologizing for their negligence. This is a warning to everyone do not be afraid to question your vet. We didnt think twice because we trusted they were professionals. He was mine and my mom's Paula Southern Kramer baby boy only 4 years old and so full of life. He was so special it strutted in that clinic with a pep in his step and left wrapped up in a towel in a soulless body. I wonder over and over how and why this happened to me and my family but anyone who knows me knows I've dedicated alot of my life saving animals paying to get strays fixed and rehomed. I also am a voice for animals and for that I have a right to voice this to everyone I will not let this go quietly and I can and will stop this to happening to another animals Please share.

I've just been going to Mulvane Animal Clinic for at the most 2yrs. I'm so very happy with them this is my home definately I'm thankful I found it because I live in Wichita proper & never found a good Veterinarian in Wichita. They identify & fix the health issue usually on 1 visit only. The aren't about making money they are all about your pet's health & well being. We had to put our little Peppy down last week there. They showed the utmost care, concern, privacy & well being for our dog & for us. They totally respect you & you beloved pet & give you all the time you need with your loved one.She had no chance of getting well & it was beautiful & so respectful. That makes it easier when you see how much care is given to your pet & their family. I love this place & I'll be staying with them forever.

I would give zero stars if I could. I was turned away, very rudely, by Jessica during walk-in hours on a Saturday at 8am. I was informed by Jessica that the clinic had "given me the opportunity to come in the day prior and be seen and since I didn't, they would NOT be seeing my animal." She said this extremely loudly and I let her know that I had been at work (it was 4pm on a Friday that I had called to inquire) By the time I had gotten off work, picked up my pet and then son, it was 5:23pm, so I would've never made it in time since they close at 5 pm. I was incredibly embarrassed at her comments given the entire wait room heard loudly how I (in her eyes) didn't care enough about my pet to come in the day prior, when obviously that wasn't the case at all. It isn't possible for people to drop everything at work and not only that, this isn't an acceptable level of care or way to treat people when they're only trying to help their pet the best they can. Luckily, I was able to have my pet seen elsewhere and she was diagnosed with Addison's disease and was currently experiencing an episode. Had she not been diagnosed by the proper clinic or gone any longer, she could've died. Jessica's attitude towards my pets care was disgusting and frankly, disappointing. I hope that the Hall family seriously reevaluates her position with them if this is how she chooses to treat people seeking care for their pet.

The vet actually came out and clipped his nails, gave his vaccines, and removed an infected nail- all outside in the beautiful weather without the added stress! It is really sad that when a customer picks their dog up after surgery, they find out that you left the dog in a kennel all day until they got off work to pick the dog up. For you to refer to the dog as "that dog", rather than by the dog's name is pathetic. To tell the people the dog is a bad dog makes me think you are heartless. If you only knew the dog's history, that a year ago Sunday, the dog's human Dad was killed in an accident which all of us are still grieving, including the dog, maybe you would be a little more compassionate, maybe not? When veterinarians lose sight of how their patients should be and deserve to be treated, than maybe it is time to close shop.

Took my cat for a neuter and they handed him back to me the next day covered in feces and urine. I’m pretty sure they left him like that all night because now he’s in the animal hospital possibly about to pass away. He’s a young cat! He was in perfect health before he went. Zero integrity at this place! What kind of place would even consider placing your cat into your hands covered in filth?! They even acknowledged that he was filthy and said, “oh must’ve just happened.” If they truly cared they would’ve had more integrity and love than to allow him to be in that condition. He’s so sick that he’s spending at least 3 days in the hospital on an IV and being tube fed after becoming so ill that he was throwing up bile and refused to eat or drink. He almost died because of the low level of care we experienced. Do not take your pets here!

I recently took my dog Freckles there after taking him to the Emergency Vet in the middle of the night. I thought the staff was very kind, and professional. Dr.Smith was very kind and attentive and took really good of my baby while he was being looked at. I felt the price was more than fair and I had the worst experience at the clinic in Wichita, on Washington St. It was horrid, the unprofessional receptionist had me so angry I thought I was going to end up in jail. I LOVED my experience with Dr. Smith and they will be my dogs vet for the duration of his life. Love this place!!!!

Took my blue heeler here and the vet gave him antibiotics and some other medication said he should be better in a couple of days and he kept getting worse so we took him back two days later and the vet just upped the dose of the antibiotics and sent us home and our dog was dead the next morning.

Mulvane took care of my puppy during his parvo treatment. My puppy was in treatment for 7 days and let me visit him as many times as I wanted a day and was patient with me during this really rough time. They provided me a quote of the treatment before admitting him and there were no hidden charges. They truly do everything they can to make sure your animal is in good health. Unfortunately, my puppy did not make it. But I am confident that this staff did everything they could for my puppy during his time here.

Since it's a walk in Veterinary Office, you do have to wait a bit in the lobby with everyone else and their dogs, but everyone (staff & other costumers) is incredibly nice and understanding. The prices are very reasonable, especially compared to my last vet. My dogs have always been scared of vets, but these vets make the visit short and sweet without us feeling like we're being rushed out. I think they found a good balance.

I've had alright service while I've been there. We have been taking our dogs up there for some time now, haven't had any major issues. Dr. Lance is a saint but I can't say the same for some of the other professionals up there. I recently had my puppy examined and while Troy was restraining him he hit him in the face. My dog was being squirmy but I don't see that as a reason to hit him, especially in the face. A lot of people believe dominance and negative reinforcement training are not viable options for training in the long run and I agree but in practicing medicine such as a vet office you would think ongoing training like that would be important for growth. I honestly believe the clinic itself is not too bad but Troy owns that clinic and with what I witnessed I think he may be burned out or just overall frustrated but I don't see that as an excuse to hit another persons puppy or any animal in general. I fear that if he's willing to use that sort of training while the owner of the pet is present that things may get far worse when they're not. No marks or blood or anything involved in case anyone is wondering, I just can't support a facility that thinks outdated information is okay to use in practicing medicine.

The best vet clinic ever...was tired of being over charged at other clinics due to unnecessary testing costs (without permission to do the tests) and outrageous charges (prior vet clinics) This clinic is very busy however I believe that is because they are so effective. The long wait times can be very long and frustrating only because no one wants their animal hurting or sick and not able to do anything. I will say that more serious injuries are and have been treated promptly as my cat had a serious injury on the tail and they took her in right away. The vets don't push any services on you, only recommended what is necessary. The vets always spend quality time with you in exam rooms and answer as many questions as you have. I would recommend a bigger or addition to the building as I believe this would help the wait times. The front desk clerk's are always so patient and kind. They also will accept phone calls from anyone with questions and will even ask a vet if needed and never act irritated or bothered. The facility is clean and smells clean unlike a lot of prior clinics I've been to. Would recommend everyone to go here, as they care for farm type animals as well I believe. Also offers boarding that opens to a grassy outside area where animals can walk and get fresh air. I've been told employees are there even on the weekends to watch and care for those animals that have to stay. This shows a lot of care and compassion. Stop wasting your money on overpriced clinics and have reassurance that your pet is just as important to them as they are to you!
