I took my little dude up there with a cough. He was gently cared for, diagnosed, treated, and I was given prescribed medication to continue treating him with. I have been taking my pets to Dr. Marty (Gilmore) for about 5yrs. He is so good with my cats. While they don’t like to travel in the car, they are always relaxed when Dr. Marty sees them. He explains everything and makes sure any questions I have get answered. He only administers the needed medicine and never tries to push anything. I would (and do) recommend Mill Creek to anyone.

I’ve gone to Mill Creek Animal hospital and for several years now and my two cats always see Dr. Church. He is a wonderful veterinarian who is gentle with the cats, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. I’ve asked him a few times if my cat needs specific tests and then he will inform me of the actual symptoms I should see first that would indicate if those tests are needed. Basically, he doesn’t order a bunch of expensive tests if they aren’t absolutely necessary. Even though my cats growl and hiss at him, he still tries to give them nice pets and love to calm them down. This place is wonderful!

I have a special exotic breed of cat that is known to not do good with some shots, not recommended, can cause death, etc. (not rabies/common ailments, just newer ones). I had researched breeders, etc., and tried to discuss pros and cons with vet, and my desire to NOT have some given. They gave them to her anyway! (Said they were combined, but not so I find!) I also HATE that they also will take your pet away to the back room for everything beyond initial exam, instead of with you in exam room like my retired vet did, to help keep your pet feel calmer/protected. They also even told me that they used my cat in back to show young student helpers to train!!! My cat is NOT your guinea pig!!!!!!!!!! You judge?: I adopted an abused cat from shelter. She kept shaking her head, scratching ear to bleed like other shelter cats with ear mites I have had. She was scared to death over being caged again to go there. I TOLD them this. We had just got her to trust us. He could have looked in her ear in exam room, prescribed her drops like other vet. BUT, ended up telling us it was rare to see ear mites anymore, so wanted his students to see exam in back! I think so many people are impressed by the JoCo 'look' of the place and people they have in front, a place that 'had' a good initial vet, so have accepted all the rest vets added for $$$. Stinks of profit over caring to me! Then, also regarding on the 'profit' part of this, they 'constantly' send emails for endless products to buy, etc. It is shameful and obvious to me they are in this for the money, NOT for love of your pets/furry children. Can you imagine if you brought your child to a doctor that totally ignored you this way, and then 'spammed' your email, that won't even stop with your 'decline'??!!

We were in need of a new vet and were hoping for someone close to home. Dr. Schumacher was fantastic with our 3 small dogs. In the past, going to the vet was a stressful outing for them. Dr. Schumacher immediately sat on the floor when she entered the room. She was kind and welcoming and took her time to let the dogs warm up to her. She examined them on the floor so that they were comfortable. Dr. Schumacher took her time to talk with me about my concerns and provided me with information about different types of heart worm and flea/tick preventative medications. I highly recommend her!

Dr . Church was one amazing dr! My moms dog was very sick, and we had to rush her to mission med vet . Prior to us leaving Dr Church kissed our doggys forehead and said you keep fighting ! There aren’t enough positive adjectives to describe the kind of Vet Dr Schumacher is, kind, loving, empathetic, knowledgeable, sweet and energetic are just a few. She loves my fur babies as much as I do, every visit is filled with treats, hugs and kisses. Rebecca was kind enough to come to our home in December when we had to send our beautiful boxer boy to heaven and let him go peacefully and home in our arms instead of in the office, it was peaceful and Brownie was loved to his last breath. Now she takes care of my other boxer Bella and Sylvia the hissing cat. I recently moved and wouldn’t think of going anywhere else. All of the office staff and techs are wonderful too. We've been taking our pup to Dr. Gilmore at Mill Creek since we acquired him 3 years ago when he was 5 months old. You couldn't ask for a more concerned, attentive, thorough, and warm person than Dr. Gilmore. He never rushes you, explains things totally in laymen's language, and remembers personal details about the pet even before consulting the chart. Our pet suffers with anxiety and yet Dr. Gilmore patiently and gently soothes his nerves so that he's calm during treatment. The practice has accessible hours and prices are reasonable. There's no effort to push unneeded or extraneous products or services. The office staff, technicians and other vets are similarly friendly and professional. On occasion during Dr. Gilmore's absence, we have used two of the other vets in the practice. They exhibited the same kind, warm, and skillful behaviors. All and all this is an exceptional practice, which is conveniently located with good street and highway access.

They work well with my very timid dog. I have never felt rushed in and of the office, the vets take their time and make sure to examine my dog completely and address my questions and concerns thoroughly. From the welcoming voice you get when making your first call, to the professional and friendly staff who makes you and your pet comfortable, I had a truly great experience. The Dr. And his assistants were very kind and treated my dog like a king while he was there. I highly recommend Mill Creek to anyone seeking affordable care with a great staff.

Dr. Gilmore sees my dog and has seen all my parent’s dogs. He is very knowledgeable, up to date, honest, and direct. He always considers what is best for your pet first, while keeping in mind what is best for the owner. I would not take my dog anywhere else. This vet is the best around us. Dr. Mears is the best vet I have ever had. He's compassionate, doesn't criticize or talk down to owners and is great with our dogs. When we had to put down one of our beloved babies, it was done in the best way possible, with a separate room where we could grieve. Very well done for such a hard time. As of my last review this has picked up more stars because the groomer left and has been replaced, and the vets here are all very nice. My visit with the flea issue has not been repeated and we're thrilled with all the staff. - We've picked up a single flea twice from the waiting area. When examined, we're told we "have fleas" in our home (we didn't both times). Last time we saw a different vet (from same practice) and she spoke down to me as if my house was infested, acting like I was stupid and didn't realize my dog had fleas. I check my dog every day. She did not. I checked again, everywhere, when we got back. Checked her, all the hot spots, the other dog, the other pet, the bedding, everything. We didn't have them. We did, however, get a very hefty fee for the latest "flea removal" drug that coincidentally was plastered all over the office. She was shocked I didn't give my inside almost all the time small dog a flea prevention pill, and later when I got home I was called by the receptionist, and damn near TOLD to buy heartworm medication. I was coming back to pick my dog up for goodness sake. I was also going to pick it up on my next visit, when I ran out, which was like next week. I felt harassed. - Update: Since then, however, I have not witnessed this type of behavior from the staff. This is a good thing and I feel more comfortable again.

We have been clients of Dr. Mark Mears since 1990, and have loved all of our interactions with him. Several members of office staff are a bit cold and unfriendly, but we have overlooked that because we appreciated Dr. Mears so much. However, since Dr. Mears recently retired, we have had an interaction with the remaining vets/office staff which is causing us to discontinue doing business with Mill Creek. For several years Dr. Mears has provided us with a standing prescription for antibiotics for our golden retriever who suffers from periodic skin infections after swimming at our lake home on Table Rock. It has been great to have that kind of trusting relationship, and the convenience of keeping the medicine our dog needs on hand when we are traveling. As we prepared for our upcoming trip to the lake, I requested a refill for that prescription. I explained to the office staff and on a voice message to the vet our reasons for the request, and without the courtesy of a return phone call to me, Mill Creek denied our pharmacy's request for the refill. In addition, when I tried to make an appointment for our dog to get his heart worm shot before we leave for the lake (which isn't due until 5/25), I was at first told we could not get the shot early. I told them they would have to send his records to a vet at the lake in that case so we could get the shot at the proper time. Suddenly, the story changed, and it was ok to get the shot early. Hmmmm... Anyway, we are going to pick up the records for our four dogs, and find a new vet. This is very sad considering we have been satisfied clients since 1990.

Dr. Schumacher is great. She spends more time loving on your dog than talking to you, really makes you feel good knowing she is a true animal lover. And very knowledgeable and concerned when you bring in a pet in a bad situation. Front staff is friendly and great.
