I took my cats into KC Cat Clinic for the first time last week. It was such a different experience! I loved the way they took time getting the cat out of the crate... slowly undoing all the screws and gently lifting the top off. Once the top was off, they wrapped the cat in a towel so that never did either one of my cats feel scared. It was a great experience for all of us.

Great staff, very helpful doctors, long consultations. They even donated some medicine I needed but couldn't afford. I can't thank them enough for that. However, the lack of knowledge on the nutritional side is very upsetting. My cat has had skin problems due to allergies for a few years, and they just kept pumping him full of steroids. Keep doing that, and your cat could turn diabetic. When I told my doctor I feed a raw diet, she said I shouldn't. When asked why, she said she just doesn't think it's a good idea. No science to back it up, no real reason. Then, without fail, she suggested I buy some Science Diet from them. Of course! A food filled with allergens, corn, wheat, soy, sawdust, and almost no nutrition. That would guarantee I would have to come back because the food will cause other problems. I was extremely disappointed in the fact that they just said he has allergies, so he needs Science Diet. Wrong. So, so wrong. I went to a wholistic vet the next week and had them look at his allergies. He's allergic to all kinds of proteins. They are knowledgeable about raw (and how it is a natural diet for cats. They are carnivores, not omnivores) and helped me find a the best food. It's been over six months and my cat is THRIVING. I understand Science Diet sometimes works to solve the problem at hand, but it creates other problems wether you know it or not. It's the equivalent of taking a sleeping pill from a doctor that causes several other symptoms.

I was so relieved that the KC Cat Clinic was able to work in Scary Spice yesterday afternoon. She had gone from normal behavior the day before to a cat that wanted no food, was vomiting frothy liquid and simply wanted to hide. The "feel good" measures (sub-Q fluids, shot, anti-nausea meds) seemed to work. Her appetite returned and no vomiting this morning or since yesterday's visit. Hopefully the bland diet will restore GI normalcy and the blood panel will come back totally uninteresting. Thank you for being so available for Scary Spice when she needed care.

We are so glad to have found kc cat clinic! This was the best vet experience ever. We took our newly adopted and one leg amputated cat pogo in for his stich removal and check up. They were very thorough in explaining everything and they have a "no scruff" policy. They were so gentle during a stressful time for him. Both the doctor and the techs were patient and informative. You'll leave with information overload instead of being unsure or not completely understanding. They're amazing with cats, no matter how cranky or how sick. They are honest, straightforward and they're not trying to take your money with unnecessary tests and nonsense. They are compassionate and always go the extra mile to help you. If test results come in on a Saturday, they'll call you on a Saturday even though the office isn't open. They keep in touch with you to find out how things are going and make sure you understand anything you're not sure about. They're great with routine care, too! It's not a 10 minute in and out visit, they will completely check out everything and tell you as they go any concerns they may have. They won't rush through things and shove you out the door, it will be the most thorough exam your cat has ever had. They're also just genuinely likable people who have a great passion and love for felines.

I had the best vet experience at KC Cat Clinic! I adopted an 8 -year old cat, "Mausi" with hyperthyroidism and needed to get her checked up. Dr. Gloor took a lot of time to explain all procedures she would like to get done, then provided an estimate and discussed which tests she thought are necessary. She went above and beyond to explain the different components of the blood test, different options to treat hyperthyroidism, as well as basics regarding cat food and how to properly care for a cat (Mausi is the first cat I ever had). The next day, a Friday evening, Dr. Hodes emailed me the results of the blood test and stayed in email contact with me until late Friday night until all my questions were answered about the pharmacy I wanted to pick the medication up, as well as explaining the right doses of medication. The way they handled my cat was outstanding! They were so gentle, I can't imagine taking Mausi anywhere else!

I have been taking my cats to Dr. Eliza Sundahl and her colleagues at the KC Cat clinic since 1978. All options are clearly explained to me and treatment is conservative. Dr. Sundahl initiated the development of Feline Practitioner and it is now a veterinary specialty with board certification. I will take my "kids" - and there have been quite a few over the years - nowhere else. I feel that they get the very best care there - diagnostically as well as compassionate and loving care, not only by the veterinarians but also by the staff.

There is no better care for your cat in Kansas City than KC Cat Clinic. They are capable and compassionate. One of the things that impressed me most when I moved here two years ago is that specialize in older cats with various medical issues. Sure, they treat young, healthy kitties too. But finding a vet and clinic that is experienced with things like pancreatitis is rare. This clinic not only can treat it, they know how and do it a lot! Sheba is 18 years old and she has a number of medical issues. They have been fabulous in keeping her happy, "healthy" and stable with her various medical issues.The staff at KC Cat Clinic truly love cats, and they will take wonderful care of your furry, four-legged feline child.

If you love your cat, and live in KC, (or even if you have to travel a little), don't go to any other vet for your cat. This clinic blew me away with how understanding, caring, attentive, and in my cat's VERY specific neurological-physical disability, were completely informed about it and, where I have been turned away from vets because of this before- they embraced my buddy as if he were one of their own. They answered every question, passed no judgement, and were incredibly honest, thorough, sweet, and there was no pretending involved. They really do care about each cat and each person they treat, and I cannot tell you how good I feel that not just 'good' vets exist, but EXCELLENT vets exist. Above and beyond a 'visit', they take the time to actually get all of the details, get to know you, your cat, and the only fair description I can give this clinic is that it is second to none, and whatever your cat needs, go here.

As always excellent, caring service. Since taking my semi feral cat to the Cat Clinic her health has drastically improved. I took her to another vet numerous times only to have her health, and eyesight decline. Her health was getting close to the point where a life or death decision was going to have to be made. Not ready to give up on her I decided to take her to a place that only work with cats. Best decision ever. She is a totally different girl, enjoying life, playing with toys, demanding love, and slowly becoming an indoor kitty. My cat was old and sick. He was gross and needed baths every visit because he would get stressed out and make a mess of himself on the drive. Every other vet had made me feel stupid for trying to help him because he had FIV and they basically thought that his life wouldn't be much longer anyway. KC Cat Clinic never made me feel like it was hopeless or not worth it to do everything we could to make him feel better. They helped me to ease his pain and make his last year much easier. In the end, he got too sick to help and he died in my arms at the clinic. His last moments were filled with a lot of love and comfort. Everyone at the clinic was so kind to me and helped me make informed decisions about every health choice for him up to the last one. I'm so grateful that this clinic exists and that they were there for me and my cat. I don't think I'll ever take my remaining cats anywhere else.

When I first visited KC Cat Clinic in 2004 with my Rags, we saw Dr. Wasmer. Rags was 14 years old then. She was awesome - and the first thing she said to me was how beautiful he was. I will never forget that because all other vets I had taken him to never said anything about how beautiful he was. He was a beautiful cat. In fact, the reason I originally went to KC Cat Clinic was because Rags was an older guy, and I was concerned he wasn't getting the best care at his old vet. I had taken him to his regular vet for an annual exam - our old vet looked him over, popped some tartar off his back teeth, gave him some shots and told me he was good to go. I was 24 and Rags was the love of my life. I started to tear up and told our then vet that Rags meant the world to me, and I wanted him to live a long time. He then proceeded to redo the entire physical exam. It concerned me greatly because he should have done the physical exam to his best ability without me having to say anything. It was after that appointment that I called KC Cat Clinic for an appointment, and we never returned to our old vet with Rags. Unfortunately, Dr. Wasmer left the practice (but, is now back!!), and so we started to see Dr. Ellen Gloor. All the vets at KC Cat Clinic are very knowledgeable about cats, but I found I got along best with Dr. Gloor - she gets me and how I communicate. Rags passed in 2009 with the help of Dr. Gloor - I wouldn't have wanted anyone else to do it. I knew he was most comfortable with her. Fast forward to today, I have two 10-years old cats, Charlie and Trigg. And always request Dr. Gloor when I schedule our appointments. I make my living from a website about cats and cannot tell you the horror stories I hear about vets - especially those that treat cats as if they were a dog in a smaller form. I think it's essential for a cat to be seen by a vet that loves cats and specializes in them. And definitely go to a cat friendly practice that has an American Association of Feline Practitioners member. I feel very fortunate that KC Cat Clinic is in Kansas City and so close to my home. And hope that Dr. Gloor will be around as long as I have cats. She's just awesome.

I couldn't have imagined what a positive experience KC Cat Clinic would be. I'll drive the hour and a half to come here rather than the vet five minutes from my house because it's so worth it. Clementine saw Dr. Hodes and she was absolutely fantastic! She and the rest of the staff kept me informed every step of the way, letting me know exactly what tests and labwork were being completed and what I could expect each procedure to cost. This was a huge comfort to me. (They also accept CareCredit!) These guys truly are passionate about providing good care, and I'll never go anywhere else.

The doctors at KC Cat Clinic are truly cat ladies (in the best way possible) and take excellent care of my two older cats. My cats hate going in the car, so they are usually quite cranky by the time they arrive at the vet. The vets and their assistants are so patient during the exam and do everything they can to ensure that the cat is comfortable. The vets take the time to make sure you understand any diagnoses and the different options for treatment. I think they may be more expensive than other vets in the area, but it is worth every penny.

My grief was softened by the tremendously gentle treatment they received in diagnosing their ailments. Dr. Hodes saved our 15 year old cat, Spook. I'd been taking her to vets for almost a decade with no real answers and always the same ineffective treatment. By the time we found our way to the KC Cat clinic, Spook was 4 pounds, not eating, reclusive, and well, dying. Dr. Hodes and her staff listened to Spook's whole story and didn't just send me on my way with some antibiotics. We ran lots of tests and over the course of several weeks and visits we had a real diagnosis and a treatment plan. It was worth every penny. The KC Cat clinic gave us back our girl, she is now 6 pounds, happy and playful, she has a robust appetite and is back to her pesty, quirky self. Now, at 16, I don't know how much longer she'll be with us but at least I know that with Dr. Hodes and the people at KC Cat clinic taking care of us, they'll be happy healthy years. On my first visit, Dr. Sundahl spent an amazing amount of time with my cat and going over his past history, behavior, and medical concerns. She is very knowledgeable and gives great advice. Everyone there was so friendly and welcoming. Definitely going back with my other cats!
