We were so pleased with how Hailey's teeth turned out after her cleaning. Her breath smells great and her teeth are very white now. We are very glad Dr. Cooper recommended this procedure for our dog. Everyone from the front desk to the Vet Techs and Dr.'s are wonderful and welcoming here. We bring our rabbit, guinea pigs, cat, & dog to see Dr. Barta & Dr. Cooper.

The staff at Barta Animal hospital are very friendly. They take good care of my adult dogs and puppies. When I need them in the middle of the night I call them and they meet me at their facility. They answer all of my questions and never make me feel inadequate in caring for my animals. Watching the doctors hold my puppies, administer treatments, perform surgery or search for what is ailing my dogs - I can see that they love animals very much. I would not hesitate to recommend and refer anyone to Barta Animal Hospital.

Would not recommend. One of our dogs had two ACL operations performed here because our primary vet recommended them. Dr. Barta did the first surgery on her left leg which is without issues 3 years later. Her second surgery was for the same operation on the right leg 6 months post recovery, Dr. Cooper performed this surgery and we have had constant problems. Immediately after surgery the wound was poorly dressed and multiple large grape size knots around her knee, we were told this would go down during recovery. Two years post-recovery the knots still present with crepitation, Bella still cannot play even for short times without carrying her leg, it is worse than before we elected to have the operation. Recovery time and activity was the same for both legs. We contacted the office after Bella "recovered" and we were told the surgery "didn't take" and we would need to pay the full amount to have it performed again but they couldn't guarantee which doctor would perform the surgery.

I have been going to Dr. Barta since 1987. I have always liked the care and the quality of people he has working for him. I don't see Dr. Barta as much there but he has a second vet (Dr. Cooper) who also is a wonderful person as well. They treat the animals with care as if they were their own. One of the main office personnel is a lady named Paula she has always been very knowledgeable in helping me with any questions I have had. When my emotional support dog (Bella) passed away Dr Barta helped take care of her. I just wished I could have seen the signs earlier so I could get her some help sooner. He was very understanding of the tears and the sorrow I was feeling. He and his staff are a great asset to the city of Independence. Thank you all of you at Barta Animal Hospital for being who you are.

If I could I would give them zero stars. We went to pick up our white dog and he was yellow, covered in his own pee. Later we took him to get some shots and dr. Barta came behind him and jabbed the needle in and then proceed to yell at us because my dog snipped at him. But who wouldn’t if out of no where you’re being stabbed?

Very good experience! Some veterinarians seem like they're just in it for the money. Not these fine folks! They truly care about their patients and owners. They even called me back to check on my cat. My own personal doctor doesn't even do that! Thanks!

It wasn't that great. My puppy was ill. I took him there. After shots and saying I don't know he got worse and of course no one answered the emergency line. I took him in first thing the next morning. Ran some blood work. Did an cray. A few more shots. Said watch hm at home. If he gets worse Call. I asked for a number someone would actually andwer. Within a few hours my boy deteriorated tapidly. I called. NOBODY AVAILABLE. MY PUG DIED STRUGGLING AND IN A HORRIBLE WAY RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME.

The staff is great. I take all my bulldogs to Dr.Cooper. He really knows his stuff. He answers all my questions and gives great advice. I drive an hour and a 1/2 one way just to go to this clinic. It's worth every minute.

We have been using the professional services from Barta Animal Hospital for over 8 years and they are the BEST!! We have taken our dogs & cats and just recently took a two week old baby goat in for veterinary services. Dr Barta, Dr Cooper and the entire staff are helpful and caring for our animals as much as they would their own. We've had normal checkups & care, bones needing repaired. extensive surgeries and services when the pet reaches their end-of-life. Dr Barta and Dr Cooper both performed multiple surgeries on Abbey, our black lab, allowing us many more years to enjoy and take her duck hunting and be a part of our family. I think it may have impacted them almost as much as us when we finally had to let her go. We live over an hour away but Dr Barta and Dr Cooper has met us after hours and weekends if we had an emergency on several instances. I would strongly recommend Barta Animal Hospital to anyone who has a pet.
