It's hard to find somewhere to bring a rabbit, let this be the place you go. We had a beloved pet that had been mishandled and wasn't doing well. In the end, we lost Panda right there in the office. They put her on oxygen and did their best, but nothing could be done (diagnosis: torn trachea). The entire office staff were so sensitive, giving us a small room to ourselves for my daughter to cry and grieve in. They gave us a burial box and a poem and a memento with her little nose-print. They had always tried to keep costs as low as they could, but charged us for nothing at all that day. The waiting room is small and sometimes wait times can be a bit long, but the service is incredible, and right away you feel like family. Five stars.

This is the vet clinic that I use for my kitties health care. I also buy some of their cat food there, to supplement the Purina One cat food that I feed them. My kitties really like the dry cat food that I get there but I like to feed them more than one type so they won't get finicky. I have also boarded them at the clinic and my kitties like all of the attention that they get while they are there. It helps to book the space early especially when it is a holiday or just even in the summer when people are going to be traveling for vacations or other events. They also have a great space set up for doggie daycare and for boarding as well, along with the food for them, and probably other critters as well. I was traveling across the country with my bullmastiff and had an emergency. I went in first thing on a Saturday morning as a walk in, and they took me in without hesitation. The staff was very friendly and professional. The doctor was very thorough and answered all my questions. With such a big dog the vet also gave me the option of getting an antibiotic at a pharmacy because it would be less expensive for me. They definitely care about their patients! Their fees are reasonable, too. I would very highly recommend them!

The care team at Animal Family Veterinary Clinic was professional, compassionate, and provided and thorough evaluation with multiple treatment options. I have since brought my dog in for a check up and received the same level of care and professionalism despite the fact my dog was extremely nervous. Would highly recommend!

Edit 2: 08/02/19: Raised to 5 stars AFVCC's Practice Manager and Patient Care Manager reached out to my SO and rectified the situation They apologized for the misunderstanding and offered to call me as well. They did a great job explaining why the incidents happened and promised they would try their best to make sure nothing like that happened again. They also said they would talk to their visiting vet as well. Our pups nails also got a trim while he was there. Everyone's happy! Thanks guys! Original post: Went to pick up my SO's (significant other) puppy from camp. Waited 20 minutes and was skipped twice (in favor of two people who arrived after me) before I got him. When they finally brought him out they gave me the wrong leash. I brought this to their attention and then had to wait another 10 minutes only to be informed that they had misplaced it or given it to the wrong owner. They said they would call around and figure this out. Two days have gone by and we haven't heard a thing. They gave us a thin leash to hang on to until they locate it but now we don't have the correct leash for a training class that we have started. To their credit, the vet tech was very apologetic which is why I gave 2 stars but the rest is unacceptable. Edit 1: I also want to mention a bad experience with a Visiting Veterinarian that we had at this location. Awhile back our poor guy needed to go in to have an exam done for his eyes. My SO went with him and the Vet made comments about our pup being untrained and had great difficulty putting ointment in his eyes. If you ever tried putting drops in your own eyes imagine putting goop in a 6 month old, squirmy, uncomfortable pup who hates his eyes and head being held. If you are unaware, Ointment is almost never prescribed as it's more difficult to instill over drops and far more expensive... So I can't imagine why this Vet chose ointment over basic drops. After being unsuccessful for some time, the Vet called it quits. The Vet didnt even put the drops in, didn't show my SO how to properly do it and didn't consult with my SO on the directions. The visiting Vet also made a belittling comment to a tech saying "is this your first day?" One of the worst medical experiences I've ever heard of. The icing on the cake? The Vet referred my SO to an ophthalmologist whom they called "the best in the US". The ophthalmologist took one look at my SO's pup and said that he just had some allergies. So much for all the hassle...

The staff at Animal Family are the most friendly and helpful, caring and understanding people around. I feel my fur baby is going to be safe and happy when i pick him up, and most important of all he feels safe and secure in their hands. Claire, i cannot find all the words to descibe this girl, she is wonderful to Corbin. When he had a grooming appt. All i have to say "you ready to go see Claire," hes ready to go. She is like his biggest buddy, and knows if he is feeling sad, down, hurting or a little on the onry side. I trust her like no other. That goes with the rest of the staff as well. Any of the drs. that have seen him have always been dedicated and i feel very comfortable and can rely on them to be honest with me about his health. Although quite a car ride away with an anxious pet, they provide veterinary care for all kinds of pets including birds and reptiles. They also provide boarding for cats and dogs with the cat area separated from the dogs so less pet stress if you're a cat parent. They also have a year round doggy daycare program complete with treats and highly supervised group outdoor play. They even divide "campers" into groups by size and allow no bullying.

I just switched to Animal Family after going to another Veterinary Clinic for many years. I felt the service was really going downhill and decided to give this place a try with our new puppy, Ike. I cannot say enough about the friendly staff!! They were very busy and there was a bit of a wait. It was well worth it!! Dr. Lauren and her assistant(so sorry I forgot her name) were wonderful. They both answered so many questions and took their time with us. I am beyond thrilled I made the change. We will be checking out Camp Canine on Monday!

I was asked to take into Rescue a gorgeous Boxer, Mickey on short notice. Being that my Rescue is in IL, Mickey was required to have a health certificate before he could cross the state line. Animal Family was able to get him in immediately! I was so happy to see the diversity of animals under their care in the waiting room. Mickey was given a thorough exam and vaccination. The expense was very reasonable. The staff was Phenomenal and we felt like old friends in a clean and friendly environment. I recommend them to anyone who loves their pets!

There were some days I had to be at work before they opened and had some staff get there early just so I could still drop them off before I had to be at work. I cannot recommend this vet for pet birds. I brought my pionus in to be checked out for poor feathering (getting black tips). They took blood at my request, and sent it out to a lab. The vet called and told me that the lab reported "insufficient blood taken" so I could either go back in or we could just "not worry about it" because she thought the bird 'seemed' fine? I went back 4 weeks later when it was safe to take blood again, and the vet told me she was going on vacation and the other avian vet might call me with the results. I did not hear back for over a week, so I called and left a message, and never received a return call. They did no other tests, just a physical examination. So, I waited 4 more weeks and took my bird to a different vet, where I got blood and fecal results same day and found out my bird had an infection. The poor thing probably had an infection for months. Additionally, I had heard Animal Family vets volunteer at Niabi Zoo, but the only large parrot I saw there was a cockatoo in an enclosure with nothing but perches. Absolutely nothing for mental stimulation. Maybe this was only meant to be an indoor enclosure for poor weather days, but surely there is bad weather in Iowa many days of the year? Just terrible for the emotional health of that poor cockatoo. I just really think these people are not very interested in birds, and are not going to provide the best care for your bird. There are other vets a 2-3 hour drive away that are focused on avian care.

Animal Family Veterinary Care Center is a wonder place to take your fur baby. They can care for anything from dogs to lizards, bunnies, you name it. The doctors are very knowledgeable & the staff is incredibly friendly. They treat your fur baby like it was theirs. I drive 25 minutes to get there & more than worth the travel time. They take care of the humans, too! We had 2 fur babies that we had to put to sleep and the doctor and staff are very caring. No rush in saying our final good-byes. They explained what would happen. and asked if we would like to be present! You also can get a paw print and a lock of hair for remembrance! Putting a fur baby to sleep is sooo hard, and we left knowing we did the right thing. While waiting to see the vet, there was a lot of fur baby parents coming in to pick up their fur babies from Camp (being boarded). A lot of fur baby parents were in there to buy food. Each was treated very well. The staff also knew which fur baby went with which parent. I highly recommend them.

Very clean vet hospital with sweet staff members--both front desk receptionists and vet techs/vets. This was (to my knowledge) the only vet hospital that has an avian specialized veterinarian in the local area. The two vets that my fiancee and I have seen seem very knowledgeable of what they do, and there's little beating around the bush. Very much recommend this place if you need any medical services or even boarding for your dogs.

I rescued 3 chinchillas and my vet recommended me to come here. It really was easy to make an appointment. They sent the forms so I could fill them out beforehand. If you have small pets or exotic pets I recommend it.

Appointments can be slow when the vets are being pulled in multiple directions at once but this because they are busy with clients who trust their services, so I am happy to wait.

Our Avian vet in Southeast Iowa moved. I was really concerned because we don't have vets around here that specialize in birds so my options were slim. My Sun Conure needed to be looked at with a concern I had and was also due for his annual exam. I started searching the website for Avian Vets in the Davenport area. I chose to bring him to the Animal Family Veterinary Care Center in hopes he would get good care and that is exactly what he received. We felt very welcome and the staff was very friendly. The Doctor knew exactly how to handle my conure with care. She did a thorough exam and took time to explain everything to me, answer my questions and address my concerns. When the bird passed inspection, but died three weeks later, Dr.Kathy went above and beyond the call of duty, offering to do an autopsy free of charge, hoping to lessen my young daughter's grief at her bird's death. Dr.Rob has been kindness itself in his care of one pet rat and our current dog, and Claire, the groomer, is lovely and very skilled. Thank you!

I had a beautiful Boston terrier who I took to the animal veterinary to get his ears checked out they were find and than they took him to the back room and gave him a shot under his skin on the one side and they said it would feel cold and it did for awhile. we took him home and a few days later he didn't seem like his self ..so we took him back without an appointment and told them something was wrong and they checked him and said he had pneumonia..we were like what how can that be . we got him home with some meds. that. they gave us and he died .my husband and I are still having a hard time with it because he was our baby he if he was 5 yrs .old we still wonder if that shot gave him the pneumonia .because it did make his one side cold and than the weather being hot to. and all they could say was sorry .and want me to pay over300.00 .he was family he was fine til they gave him that shot . and I still don't know why they did it. but he's gone now. all I have to say .is thanks for nothing.

Recently I had to take my hamster Gus in to be seen. I was faced with the worst decision I had to make as he was very sick.. since the very moment I walked through the door the staff was more than kind! The Ladies at the front desk were very nice and had big smiles and treated Gus as they would any other patient. When I got to the back I had made the decision to take the pain away from Gus and put him to sleep. I was an absolute mess, by myself, I couldn’t hold it together. The Vet and his Vet tech were so very kind and understanding and gave me all the time I needed. They did not once rush me with the process of saying goodbye. I just received this card in the mail from the clinic with a handwritten note and signatures of all the staff.. it brought me to tears to see just how much they care about their patients and their owners! They went out of their way to do this and I am so appreciative of that! ❤️ I highly recommend this AMAZING care center for anyone’s pets as they are some of the most caring people I have ever met!

Only place in town to take your birds and they saved ours from an overdose of mite treatment given by a boarding place that took in another bird with mites. Feel like they are reasonably priced and wait times are not long. We've been taking our parrots there for 9 years and have never had any complaints.

Animal Family Veterinary Clinic, the name says it all. Your pet is their pet & they treat you as if you’re family. I took my best friend, my mini lop earred bunny there the other day & they knew that I was very upset & worried for him. By the time I left they had covered everything by running tests & explaining what was going on. When the results come back we will go from there but everything looks positive. I can’t tell you how much better I feel knowing that he’s going to be okay. They’re care & attention to him meant the world to me! Thanks to everyone! The groomer is wonderful and friendly and I feel that she truly cares about each fluffy she cares for. As for the medical side of things, I've never been disappointed. Very nice and attentive staff. Had great experiences up until my dog was misdiagnosed at Animal Family. Dog would not put weight on rear right leg. Brought her in and was informed she may have an ACL tear. Xrays were not recommended at the time. I was informed a traveling surgeon would need to perform the repair. I had to specifically request information about cost and procedure. I called around to get additional quotes and quickly found out that Animal Family is likely the most expensive option for ACL repair in the Quad Cities. My dog's condition quickly deteriorated exhibiting more pain and energy loss. I brought the dog into another veterinarian for a second opinion. This veterinarian recommended xrays. Unfortunately, the xrays revealed my dog had advanced bone cancer in the problem leg. Sadly, we made the difficult decision to put her down four days later. Nice staff, but possibly not as thorough as they could be.

I started bringing my feline loved on here and the vet has been great, understanding and nothing but helpful. However recently theres been a very noticeable decline in any kind of friendliness to owners. The workers talk to you like you're a bother to them and talk down to you like a child. I trust the vet with my animals life but the rest of the staff makes me reconsider continuing to bring any of my pets here.

My dog had been to the emergency vet in bettendorf over the weekend and she was hurting and incontinent of bloody urine. They recommended a bladder ultrasound. Dr Jarrod came in on his day off to do a bladder ultrasound on my dog after the only other clinic who could do it wouldn't see me for two more days. I was not a current patient with them, yet I was treated like I had been coming to the office for years. The Dr explained that she had a large bladder tumor and stayed with us, sat on the floor and talked with us, while we cried and let her go. A week later my other dog became sick. I didn't hesitate to call them and they had me in to see Dr Jarrod in less than 30 minutes. I recommend this veterinary clinic over any other in the quad cities. Not only are the doctors amazing, the office staff and vet techs are patient, polite and demonstrate empathy and professionalism in their interactions with me. They took the time to explain everything and give me prices. They explained what test were needed now and what I could do at a later time. I thank them for everything they did for both of my dogs.

Animal Family is wonderful! Years ago I brought my 27 pound cat in and Dr Rob helped me with a nutrition plan for him and he’s now down to 18 pounds. I think losing that weight added years to his life and I’m so grateful for that. He is always there to answer questions and is very knowledgeable.
