Dr. Smith is a wonderful and caring veterinarian. She has gone above and beyond for my two dogs numerous times over the last 2 years I have seen her. One dog had a severe neck/spinal injury earlier this year, and she coached us through understanding what was happening and what the options were. Our dog was eventually unable to stand or walk despite attempts to treat the issue. Though we ultimately decided to put our beloved 13 year old dog down, she was so empathetic and helpful throughout the process. Our other dog was diagnosed by a previous vet with Cushing's disease (because of test results, not symptoms), but the expensive treatment she was on didn't seem to have any impact. With Dr. Smith's research and help, we took her off the medication and she is doing perfectly fine. We really appreciate everything she has done for us, so much that we continue to drive about 25 miles one way to see her, since we have moved away from Greenwood. She is the best!
Personally I had a couple bad experiences with the other vet, Dr. Hill, when I was first transferred here by the previous vet. I felt he was all business, uncaring, and pretty rude. We were accidentally scheduled for a follow-up appointment with him after a surgery done by Dr. Smith, and he wanted to charge for the appointment, even though it was an included follow-up check from the surgery. Since these I have always asked to see Dr. Smith, and she and all other employees I have seen are wonderful and caring. They always greet us as old friends.
