Here you will be able to see all the feddbacks of people like you who purchase the services and products of VCA West 86th St. Animal Hospital (Veterinarian) in Indiana area.
At present the firm has a rating of 4.2 over 5 and this rating has been calculated on 94 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is really high, and it is based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can say that the assessment is very accurate. If people have bothered to give their feddback when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to write evaluations when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Veterinarian is included in the category of Animal hospital.
We take our 2 dogs and 2 cats here for everything. The staff is great and all of them are great with our 2 that HATE the vet. Their techs have let us come in with out an appointment and just hang out with our pup feeding her treats. She now will actually walk in, get weighed and get in a room without freaking out. They always meet us at the door ready to get her into a room ASAP to limit her stress. Rey and Rogue say THANK YOU!
They're very nice to my cat
I could not ask for a better place then here. The entire staff was amazing, making my pup & myself feel special and important. I would recommend VCA West to anybody.
My experience today was unacceptable. The veterinarian was rude and argumentative (during three separate interactions). The young lady at the front desk was sighing and rolling her eyes throughout the conversation. The sad part is that the main concern was about getting additional monies from us (despite the fact that services had not been completed from the initial procedure). We will NOT return to this vet hospital. Customer service and client care are vital components when dealing with the public. This experience was an epic fail.
We have been going to vca on 86th st. for years now. They are amazing!!!!! The staff is always caring and answers my 50+ questions every time we go in. They act genuinely when they love on my dogs who are pit mixes which is a very big thing to me as so many people are quick to judge the breed. They always go above and beyond for us and me being a mom that worries a lot I can always find comfort knowing I have such a great team to take care of my pups medical needs and keep me informed.

Great Great Staff. ❤
They've helped get my newly adopted pit back to good health. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Clean. If it's your first time, you can get a free pet exam.
So sweet and professional
It is with heavy heart that I am posting today as we had to say goodbye to our beloved dog Daisy after 15 years. The staff, Dr Towne and Dr Haas were amazing. They provided compassion, knowledge and a serene setting for me to snuggle her and say our goodbyes!. Awesome, caring group of people.
We have three cats and a fourth on the way and they have been great taking care of our extended family.
very in a sensitive situation
I have now had 2 completely unacceptable experiences here, and will NOT be going back. 1. I referred some puppy clients here who ended up having to file a claim to get their money back (partial refund) on a failed surgery last year. 2. Dr. Petersman (who is rather rude anyway, but he's usually the evening vet, so I deal with it.) wouldn't issue a very simple/general Health Certificate to travel with my pup because I hadn't purchased my puppy's vaccines from them, and he supposedly wasn't "comfortable" with them being effective because HE couldn't personally verify it. *It should be noted that I have flown with animals to/from many places and NO OTHER vet has EVER created such an issue. I can only assume this is a ploy to get me to pay them more money and get me to do all my services & vaccines there at their overpriced clinic (As most VCA's are overpriced.).
Amazing services provided each & every visit. The staff is exceptional and very welcoming. :)
Generally good experiences, but our appointment today with Dr. Alan Reed was an INFURIATING RIPOFF. We went in for half off vaccines for my dog. We were just in a week and a half ago about a growth in his mouth that, luckily, fell off on its own. During the check up for the growth, I gladly paid for a Well Patient exam. Today, we just needed the vaccines, but Dr. Reed enters the room and insists on performing the same exam my dog just had a week ago. I said four different times that my dog just had the exam and is in good health and every time I said that he said "Oh, but I'll just look him over before giving him the vaccines... " ignoring my statements. The fourth time Dr. Reed has the gall to stoop down and perform the exam (heart rate and looking at his teeth and ears) right in front of me, ignoring my repeated pleas of telling him how unnecessary it would be... all this so that he could charge me $55.75 on my bill. Guess what? My dog is perfectly healthy. Needless to say, I am LIVID. It was just so smarmy and contrary to the rest of my experiences (2.5 years) with this place.
They're very nice to my cat
I had a bad experience with dealing with the facility on W 86 st, I called in for a refill on medication for my dog and the lady who answered the phone must of been having a bad day, she was very rude. I ask them to cut the pills in half as they always do and when I came to pick the medicine up, they charged me a 5 dollar fee for cutting the pills in half. I asked why the fee was different from previous times I refilled and the lady said the doctor added the charge. I asked to speak to the doctor because I didn't think it was fare without giving me an option to decide if I want to pay extra or not. The doctor would not come and talk to me and he refused to take the fee off. I am pissed off because they don't care about the care of their patients they see!
They are always super friendly, and super sweet to our puppy, even when he gets excited and pees on the floor
Caring vets, explained everything clearly.
They were very attentive to my pet's needs, the vet tech was knowledgeable and the office staff was friendly. The vet talked in real world situations and made things easy to understand.
The staff and especially Dr. Mark were amazing this past Sunday when they helped us with our dog, Dexter! Thanks so much!
Have been taking our animals here and the employees are wonderful and compassionate towards our animals
Took another Client to this pkace. I am not a client here.
They have very limited hours making them a poor choice for emergency care.
The best vet care I have seen in 50 years!! ALL of the staff here is kind, friendly and knowledgeable.
Setting everything up is a breeze. When i take my dogs here we're usually in and out in a hour. Good advice and good plans for your fur babies.
Love VCA. They always take great care of me and my pets. They have been my vet for many years.
I would not use this facility again and I doubt very much if my own vet will recommend them again. My cat was hospitalized there for one day and all night and NOBODY ever called me to let me know how his condition was. NOBODY. I finally called them and they said the doctor would call me, so I waited and waited with no call. Finally I called back and they told me "she forgot" (???) Only after having a little chat with the manager about the quality of service did I get any update calls. Even then they referred to my male cat as a "she" (???) This facility is state-of-the art, but I will tell you beforehand that NOTHING is done to your precious pet until MONEY is discussed (and PLENTY OF IT). I am surprised they don't charge you for the very air your pet breathes while it's there! I won't be using them again because they care more for PROFITS than good customer service.
We had to put our dog to sleep and they we very compassionate during this difficult time for us. I highly recommend them.
I was sent here, with my doggy, in a panic. I was sent by another clinic for "emergency surgery." When I arrived I was greeted by a very calm staff, who made me and my doggy right at home. The doctor was amazing and reassured me that no surgery was needed. I was sent home with antibiotics and much more money left in my pocket.
They are always super friendly, and super sweet to our puppy, even when he gets excited and pees on the floor
Great service and true care for my animals...
Dr. Towns & team, also Dr. Reed were wonderful veterinarians who cared for my pet that passed away.
Quick service and they were great with my cat.
Caring vets, explained everything clearly.
Great place. Love the doctors and staff!
I have spent THOUSANDS of $$ at this location for my 3 rescue dogs. I called last Monday at 10AM needing an urgent same day appointment as one of my dogs was bleeding from some type of wound or bite. They told me they couldn't see me until noon the next day and told me to go to the emergency vet. I called the Eagle Park location which also did not have any appointments but FIT ME IN, even though I had never even gone there! They have texted me three times to follow-up on my dog. The most I ever got from this location was a phone call after an in depth surgery, where when I picked up I could hear the front desk girl making fun of my dogs picture and saying he was a cocker spaniel, not a poodle and I was kidding myself - before she realized I picked up.
Good Docs but they totally RIP you off on prescription costs. Charged me $ 12.50 for one interceptor plus! Apoquel $ 5.01 each! So, they got 1 star for the Docs, one for the staff and one for the groomer. Lost 2 stars for predatory medication costs!
We have used these vets for both emergencies and for our regular veterinary care. They were extremely compassionate when caring for two very ill dogs who eventually had to be put down. They have always gone above and beyond and offer state of the art care or refer you if necessary. I noticed that one reviewer complained about price. They have always worked with us to keep costs down and not charged us for things they could and should have. We have seen a number of the vets and the care we have received for four animals now has been excellent. We recommend them to everyone, especially for emergencies. I don't think there is a better emergency vet in Indianapolis.
Now, I've never been the kind of person to take my dogs to a vet unless necessary. I've also never had to lose a dog. But I did 3 days ago... One of the worst days in my life, my dog had been bitten and fatality wounded. We found this clinic on Google, and thank God we did. Our day started of so well. But tragedy struck and we were forced to look for a vet in a split of a second. We found this place at 7:40 pm and raced here, we arrived and as soon as we walk through the door and they saw my dog hurt they took her from my arms and started medical treatment. Sadly my dog needed surgery, the cost would have been over a thousand. We only had one choice and with tears in my eyes and a heavy heart I made it. The vet was understanding and sympathetic, I could see it pained her to see me and my wife make the hardest decision a dog owner could make.we put our dog to sleep that day, the staff saw how hurt we were. But everything that they could have done right they did. The cost... I really didn't care, but in my mind not too high. Not only this but 2 days later we received a card, from the staff. Thank you Jessica, Chelsea, CSR, and Dr. Katharine Watson Thank you all. I will be returning for anything my dogs will ever need.
Always been a great place to take your pets
We use VCA now exclusively for our 3 dogs. From regular check-ups to cancer treatments to end of life care we've experienced it all. They could improve the front-desk process a bit but overall the entire experience is always a good one.
So glad they helped my baby cat!
I have been taking my dog there for 6 years. I love my new Vet she is great and they make it very easy to make appointments etc.
I've been pretty happy with the services I've received at this veterinarian. The staff is usually pretty friendly and I feel like they all have my pet's best interests in mind.
They don't hire BLACKS!

The staff and facilities are fantastic. It was a blessing that this hospital is open 24 hours when our dog injured herself. This is now our go-to vet.

They took such good care of My daughters dog. They really are passionate about their work.
Great place for your pet!
Great vets here but prices are a bit on the high end.
Love this place. It's clean, the personnel are amazing. Very professional .
We showed up with our 9 week old puppy who was bleeding from being attacked by another dog. They turned us away because they closed in 15 minutes. I'm leaving a neutral review just for future owners to know if you have an emergency this in not the place. They even have a print out map of the closest hospital so I'm assuming they turn a lot of animals away for the sake of not working late. It is what is, not trying to be rude, I just don't want future pet owners wasting time by showing up right before close because they won't see you.
Love the staff here! They take great care of my furkids!
Such a wonderful and caring place!
Rachel is the best!
Love this place. It's clean, the personnel are amazing. Very professional .
I always appreciate the fact that they help out whenever they can. The occasional "pop-in" is the norm more than the exception for my schedule. They always do what they can to assist.

Worst hospital for animals in town. Treated us like crap.
Excellent service and care of animals
They went above and beyond to care for our dog when she got cancer.
I take my cats here for any veterinary needs. The staff is always super friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend them for your furry friends!
Thank you.
All about taking ALL your money
Love the vet
