If I could give 0 stars I would. Just got off the phone with these criminals who claim it's against the law to give me information about a dog that I'm sitting who I later realized doesnt have tags, not even a collar! I have no idea if this dog has been wormed or vaccinated. All I know is that he takes pain medication. Hes around my two other dogs right now which is literally life threatening if he has worms. I'm just really appalled at this practice. His other vet gave me all the information that they could, and even told me to call this place which he'd previously visited. A dog does not have constitutional or confidentiality rights. It's a dog. I need to know about his medical history.

Very professional. I like that they have a full range of products and services they offer. Also like thier after hours emergency option for existing patients. Took off a star because I felt like they tried to upsale everything. I came in with a voucher so Im obviously on a budget. During my courtesy call, I was quoted some prices on ear medicine and a cpl of misc things my pet needed, but when I went to pick up my pet, I was told a much higher price, which they had to double check and did give me the price I was quoted. Just felt like prices weren't solid and almost like someone was receiving commissions. When it comes to my pets health and well being, I find comfort in an established veterinarian who cares, not in a franchise who's only concern is numbers and sales.

They are not at all thorough with their examinations and they way overcharge for everything. I took my pup in because she had been limping. They barely even looked at her leg and told me it was just growing pains and not to worry. Took her to another vet and they immediately told me it was most likely hip dysplasia. It's sad to me that a vet wouldn't even check for that. They also were going to charge me double the price of other vets for X-rays and they wanted me to pay to sedate her when it was unnecessary. Needless to say, I will never go back to this vet.

Do NOT get your animal groomed here! I have a pomeranian and when I went to pick her up she was COMPLETELY shaved! When I contacted them about it, the manager had a staff member call me back instead of contacting me herself to take care of this issue!

I have always taken my dog there and she is a 13 year old lab but she really hasn't had any issues, but I just got a kitten and we had him declawed, neutered and micro chipped here - they were so sweet and took such great care of my little Rockie - he even came home like nothing even happened. They are always nice when I call and they really seem to love the animals that come in.

I will not complain about the care my dog received there but the prices are EXTREMELY high. I visited twice, once for a senior wellness visit and once for an x-ray and medication. In total the two visits cost me in the ballpark of $1,200. I was told on the last visit the price ($700) included to refills. I went to refill the medication and was told I had to pay another $125 per refill. I’m not new to pet ownership. The care here is good but there are way more affordable places available. Just always seemed like they were constantly over selling and squeezing you for money. VCA Beech Grove thanks for everything but I will be moving on.

I take both of my fur babies here and honestly I wouldn't ever go anywhere else. The staff at this particular location is cheerful ALL THE TIME even when they're so busy they have more than enough reasons to be stressed and disgruntled. The team takes such good care of my dogs and has a way of making us feel special, calling my dogs by name every time we come in. Most recently, my newest baby girl was giving me quite a fright with some symptoms. And even though they were fully booked that day they agreed to allow me to drop her off anyway and made a point to make sure she got seen quickly. I can not sing their praises enough!

If you are on a budget, have a busy schedule, or an animal with seasonal allergies... this is not the place for you. They will try to up sell you on everything. The vets barely even inspect your animal before suggesting an expensive round of testing and medication. Every time we go, even for just a routine checkup/ shot, we end up spending at least $200 and that's with being a member enrolled in their Care Club. We took our dog in last year with for an anal expunging and nail clipping. They took him in a separate room and immediately put him in a muzzle, since he has never had a muzzle on, this terrified him and resulted in two broken nails from trying to get it off. They attempted the anal expunge first and he freaked out, as anything or anyone would when someone tries touching that area. They brought him back 5 minutes later without his nails trimmed or his anal gland expunged, two broken bleeding nails and refused to go any further. We then were told that in order for them to do both procedures (nail trim and anal expunge) we had to put him under anesthesia. Well one Saturday and $150 later, my dog is now terrified to go to the vet (not sure what happened in the 5 hours he was there) and his nails were barely trimmed. Now it is in his file to put a muzzle on him for all procedures because he was deemed "aggressive." Some of the staff is ill trained. One tech tried 5 times to retrieve a blood sample from my dog, he is a fawn color so his veins are easy to see. After the 5th attempt they finally brought in another tech who retrieve a sample on the 1st try. They will gladly take your money, but when the time comes to help, they refer you to the emergency clinic. A friend of mine rushed her dog to VCA Beech Grove an hour and a half before they closed. She was extremely upset that her dog had swallowed something. He wasn't steady on his feet nor very responsive. VCA didn't even look at him and told her to take him to the emergency room, they just couldn't fit him in that day. She was a paying member and they said they refused to help. If you have a busy schedule this place is not for you. I don't mind being at the place for 1-1.5 hours total. It usually takes around 20 minutes before the tech comes in, another 45 before the vet, who will speak to you for less than 2. Then once that is finished, it's another 40 minutes to check you out. Randomly picking up a supply of heart-worm medicine took 30 minutes! This place is horribly under-staffed, it could definitely use extra help, an extra receptionist would do wonders. We really loved the idea of the Care Club and for a dog that has constant allergies, we were excited to know he would have 5 visits included (which is now unlimited visits, though we were never told). However, with the lack of customer service, care for the animals, and timeliness this is not the place for us. I would give this place zero stars but they are always good about getting our dog straight into to a room, but that's where the good things end. Beware!

I called VCA on Presidents Day and told them how sick my dog was. I was really worried about him because he hadn't eaten in 3 days. They were able to see him immediately. The entire the staff was pleasant, sympathetic, courteous, and compassionate. Because it was a holiday, I had 2 children with me. They were allowed into the exam room to watch everything. I wasn't sure how I was going to afford his treatment, since they require payment at the time of the visit, I explained my financial capabilities to them. They were respectful and understanding. The staff at VCA has gone above and beyond to make sure that my sweet baby gets the treatment he needs, and that I can afford. I could go on and on with different examples of why I am so happy with this vet. It is overall, an excellent place to take your pet for any of their healthcare needs.

Today was my first visit to VCA, I was recommended this vet from a friend. Shorty was due for her first puppy vaccinations so I made an appointment online. I had no trouble getting an appointment for an hour later suprisingly! So glad I went here! It was such a pleasant experience all around. All the staff was so friendly and all wanted to take turns holding my baby Shorty! The vet tech Marley was amazing as well, so nice! Dr. Appolon was really friendly and thorough. You can tell they love the furbabies! I would recommend this place 100%!

Refused to trim my dogs nails. Call him “aggressive”, but if you immediately shoved a muzzle on a dog because they’re a larger breed, wouldn’t you be scared and react? I have the sweetest dog and have to shove a muzzle on him and pin him down to administer his shots just because the staff is too timid to approach him. Won’t be returning. Took my two cats here for checkups and for behavior issues. The younger cat is bullying the older and they had gotten into a dominance contest, both peeing outside of the box. They were both put on Prozac. The older cat responded well, no further issues with inappropriate elimination, but the other's behavior seemed to improve and then got worse. Now he is even more of a bully, aggressive towards my husband, excessive vocalization, and never sleeps. I called back to ask what to do next since his behavior was worse and was told that the vet I'd seen would be out of the office for the next 3 weeks. The other vets did not even look into what had been tried with the cats and suggested the same things that did not work, the calm food. Honestly, I don't know anyone that that food actually did work for. I was unable to speak to anyone other than the receptionist. I am expecting a new baby in less than 4 weeks and cannot have an aggressive cat in the house. VCA did respond to this review and said that I should call the behaviorist at Purdue and Indy Humane and to concurrently schedule to surrender him since it can take a long time to get an appointment to surrender an adult cat. I did contact Indy Humane's behaviorist, but most of the advice they gave me was what I had already done. A consult with another behaviorist yielded the same advice. I did schedule an appointment to surrender the cat, but the way the person scheduling the appointment talked to me gave me qualms, so I've cancelled it. We'll suffer through this and hope it is just spring fever and will pass.

The staff is always great. The vet allowed me to voice record the convo about my elderly cat, bec I have very horrible memory and wanted to let her daddy hear the discussion also. They are usually eager to upsell things. The estimates can be pricey. I do not feel that is different at any other vet. On that note, I am satisfied with the way they care for Emmy. I just wish vet care was not so expensive.

I have been here multiple times with true emergencies. The wait is terrible. They let my dog just bleed in the waiting room, waited over an hour. Took my pup that tore a tendon, again, waited an hour and a half. The cost is outrageous. They did do great work and care for my emergencies but I feel that the cost is way high for their new facility and the wait time is horrible.

I took my boxer here many times to treat the same thing. I spent $1,500+ here on what turned out to be many unnecessary tests and prescriptions for severe swelling in her leg and a lump on her side. After all these tests and prescriptions and seeing multiple vets at this one location, they still knew absolutely nothing and wanted me to take out a line of credit to spend another $800 on another test. I went to Shelby Street Animal Clinic, (not too far from here) and at my first visit they tested the lump, realized it was literally nothing other than a fatty blip,and prescribed her with steroids that got rid of all of the swelling and shampoo that got rid of the infection. All for under $250. This place was a complete waste of money and time.

Took my dog there that had seizures put her on medicine and paid for bloodwork for a year for that medicine but it did not work so they wanted to put her on another medicine then try to charge me 300 for another blood test and would not give me her refills on her other medicine because I didn’t want to spend the 300 on another blood test and then I went to another vet they told me that the blood test is only $100 so I think this place is a scam If I was you I would stay away from this place they’re all about money they do not care about the pets

I needed my 1 year old cat spayed. After calling around, and even taking her to another nearby vet for her kitten shots, the BCA Beech Grove Animal Hospital had the most reasonable prices of anyone I called. Not only that, my cat had an umbilical hernia that the vet fixed for another reasonable price. The staff was SUPER friendly and very attentive. I wish I would've brought my cat to this place first! I would recommend them to anyone.
