I’ve had several fine experiences here- nothing that’s stood out as great service but friendly enough. I have not connected enough with anyone there to request a certain vet or really had anyone go out of their way to give me advice or personalized service. I did have one negative experience recently- asked a male vet there for advice moving cross-country with cats (we’re driving) and he just abruptly said he doesn’t approve of medicating pets on drives- which I never even asked about. He made me feel like a pill seeker, which I have a lot of experience with, being a pharmacist and I wouldn’t treat my patients like that. I asked that vet about litter, making them at ease, etc and he didn’t have any advice or offer to look into it or ask coworkers for advice. I’m sure someone in a vets’ office has encountered a move with cats before, either personally or shared by a customer, and may have advice about good or bad things to do. I have two cats and my other cat’s vet was much more helpful. My kitten was found as a stray on Thanksgiving so few offices were open next day to check him out. I took him to Carmel Veterinary Clinic since Parkside wasn’t open and I’m glad to find a vet I better clicked with. I wanted to ask both vets about the move to get as much advice as possible. Dr. Cable at Carmel And Fishers Veterinary Clinic offices is amazing. When I asked her about the move, she printed out several articles on acclimating them to their carriers and the car, what to do about food and litter box, and helping them adjust to their new home. So I really appreciate Dr. Cable’s extra effort (I didn’t even mention the other vet or my negative experience and I didn’t ask for printouts but she was great, emailed resources too so I can have them on my phone to access). When I called Carmel Veterinary Clinic now closer to my move, I actually asked about medicating my older cat because she had escaped twice in the past three weeks while my parents had my two cats as we set up our move out of state. I was fine with Benadryl or whatever recommended but wanted her advice and safe dosing. Dr. Cable called me back personally and we talked and I brought both cats in for weight check for dosing and also to go over last minute concerns. Great service! The office staff at both Carmel and Fishers are very friendly and helpful too. I love that the vets rotate offices so you can find your regular/favorite vet wherever is most convenient at variety of times- morning and even evening hours. My cats and I love Dr. Cable! I have seen her at the Carmel and Fishers locations. She is extremely friendly and knowledgeable and goes the extra mile. She carries a basket full of treats and toys to entertain the animals. We may be moving but I won’t forget her!

I bring my cat Mary Ann here, I get her shots, grooming, nails trimmed, bathed etc. I like the staff and they treat her good. My wife brings our dog Coco for the same things. They are very good, I only wish they were open on Saturday's tho. I do recommend them for your pets care.

Our cats have been seen by both Dr. Havens & Dr. Johnson for years now. Needless to say, I will never be going to another animal hospital besides this one. I still remember the first time I took my cat to the vet when he was about 7-8 years old and I thought for sure I would be scolded for never taking my cat for an annual checkup. Not once did they criticize me and they understood how most pet owners are. My cat had a wound on the back of his leg that needed emergency care and Dr. Havens worked with our family to work out a treatment option for him and provided immediate attention. I will never forget when we had to put our family cat to sleep and how compassionate Dr. Johnson was to our family. He was ever so careful in handling our cat even after he had passed away. They sent us a handwritten card about how sorry they were about our loss. I can't even begin to explain the amount of respect I have for Dr. Johnson as well as Dr. Havens and the staff at this hospital. They treat my cat as if it is their own family pet and respect my pet as if he is human life. It speaks volumes for someone to treat my cat as if he is irreplaceable. I know that my pets will always be in good hands with Dr. Havens and Dr. Johnson taking care of their health.

The best vets in Indy!!! Dr. Johnson and Dr. Havens and their entire staff do such an amazing job. Their level of care and compassion simply cannot be found elsewhere. I don't feel like a customer of Parkside...I feel like family. The entire staff of Parkside recognizes the fact that your pet is a family member and they treat them as such. If you're looking for a vet that cares about your pet as much as you do and for a staff that is extremely friendly and welcoming, you need to choose Parkside! They've saved the lives of a few of my pets over the years and I would never think of going anywhere else for my pet care. Keep up the great work!

I have a little one that suffers from chronic ear infections. I had a morning drop off and afternoon pickup since I had to work that day, just a standard precautionary visit. I arrived as the doctor was leaving, he was already down the road when the office called him saying I was in the lobby, AND HE TURNED AROUND!!! JUST to tell me everything was fine..... They really go above and beyond for me and my little one. Excellent patient and parent care! Compassion beyond measure!!

I found the front office staff to be very unhelpful. My first time there was for a quick technician appointment. We didn't even need to see the vet. I waited in the lobby for 40 minutes before they took my dog back. I watched many other let's come in after mine and they were all taken care of and out the door long before we were. It wasn't until I said something to the front desk person again that I learned that the person we first checked in with hadn't even checked us into the computer. The following experiences with them were not much better.

We've been going to Parkside for 15 years ever since we had guinea pigs and through having three schnauzers. They are VERY professional and nice people. Our female schnauzer Snickers had chronic Addison's disease and they helped her live a wonderful 5 years after we adopted her. Unfortunately, she developed a tumor in her intestines, causing a bad flare up of the disease. The vets at Parkside did everything in their power to help Snickers, but after loosing a lot of weight and seeing that she was in pain, we decided to do allow her to pass peacefully and put her down. They were very helpful, compassionate and even sent us flowers the day after Snickers passed.

Never again. The doctor screamed at my mother's cat when she jumped off the table and proceeded to VERY roughly grab her and SLAM her on the table. My mother yelled out of fear that he was hurting her, when he said, "you would have to make some changes to live at my house!!!" WHAT VET SCREAMS AT A SCARED CAT?? I will say we had never seen him lose his temper like that but we will NEVER go back there. It only takes one time to hurt an animal or make the vet an even worse experience for them than it already is. If he acted like that in front of her, it scares me to think how he would behave without the owner present. I cannot recommend this place after that experience.

Dr. Havens rocks! I've never taken my animals anywhere else! To the people upset at the vets for wanting to spay and neuter their animals, this is why they keep asking- Hamilton County Ordinance Any person owning or having custody of a dog or cat which is older than 6 months of age, which has not been sterilized and for which the person owning or having custody of such an animal does not have a written certification from a licensed veterinarian stating that it is not in such animal's best medical interest to be sterilized, but in no case after the dog or cat has attained the age of 9 months. If the animal is older than 9 months of age and is not spayed or neutered a breeder's permit is required.

My daughter's cat was on the verge of dying and one hospital said he wouldn't make it. So we took lucky here and 24 hours later lucky was on his way to recovery and going to live. The vet even included my daughter in on the conversation and I'm my opion a 5 star rating is just not enough for the people that work here.

This review is about Dr. Johnson. Our family has been using this Vet for over 15 years with three cats and a recently adopted dog. Overall, unlike Dr. Havens, Dr. Johnson had been one of the worst Vets we've ever seen. First example is when our cat was about to pass away, Dr. Johnson made a sarcastic remark when asked about prognosis and life expectancy: "If I had a crystal ball, then I would tell you. But, I'm also not God". Here's another example with our dog. We suspected our dog of having cataract, as we've noticed cloudy lens and some discharge. When we took her to Dr. Johnson, his sarcastic remarks without doing any eye tests were, "She's fine. She doesn't have cataract. But even if she has cataract, what are you going to do about it? If you have more than $5000 to do a surgery, then go ahead. Do it." Little did he know that another local Vet suggested we do eye tests, and the Vet diagnosed her with cataract and glaucoma. Per another Vet, glaucoma can make dogs lose vision. If Dr. Johnson diagnosed our dog with glaucoma earlier, it could've been better for our dog. Our dog's glaucoma was pretty severe, with doubled the pressure of normal range. Here's another example. Our dog was limping, and expressed pain. When we took her to Dr. Johnson, he said she was fine, and prescribed pain medicine. A couple of weeks later, a groomer pointed out that our dog lost her nail, and she was probably experiencing pain. Our family never brought up anything about our dog limping to the groomer. Dr. Johnson was unable to observe something that a groomer could point out. Our family felt some emotional trauma from Dr. Johnson whenever he made sarcastic and RUDE comments. We never felt like Dr. Johnson cared about our pets. Needless to say, we will never be going back to his office again. Dr. Johnson, we wish your business all the best.

I just adopted a female dog a couple weeks ago. It turns out she has seizures. Dr. Johnson was the most professional vet I have ever encountered. He described the possible diagnosis and causes and gave me the options for further diagnostics tests and treatments VERY clearly, without trying to push any extra mysterious tests and medications, as some doctors (including human doctors!) tend to do. I definitely recommend Dr. Johnson and I trust my new epileptic family member is in excellent hands. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the high quality of services you are getting.

Absolutely wonderful experience. My german shorthaired pointer (Jake) and I went to Parkside Animal Hospital for the first time today. Jake is 5 years old and he had so much anxiety around going to our old vet that it was difficult to even get him through the door. Dr. Johnson and the staff did an excellent job with Jake and we had our best visit to the vet since he was a puppy! Jake was a little nervous at first, but Dr. Johnson did an amazing job comforting and reassuring him. By the time we left Jake and Dr. Johnson were buddies!

Dr Johnson AND Havens both misdiagnosed my cat. For 8 months I treated her for diabetes when it turned out that a shot they gave her for what they thought was vestibular syndrome *they were wrong) caused a change in blood sugar and it mimicked diabetes. By the time I took her to another Veterinarian it was too late. She had cancer the whole time and they never considered anything other than vestibular syndrome. I had to have her put to sleep at age 8. I wouldn't trust them with a fish, and regardless of how many good reviews, if it was YOUR animal the died because of negligence you'd be hurt and angry too.

Parkside is easily the best animal hospital I've been to, and I've had pets all my life. Last year I had to put my 18-year-old cat to sleep, and yesterday I had to put my 13-year-old dog to sleep. In both cases they were so caring, so compassionate, and gave us all the time we needed both before and after the procedure with our pet. Today I received flowers from them with a sympathy card. Deciding to send your pet over the rainbow bridge is never an easy thing to do, but the people at Parkside helped us and our pets through the transition and I am so thankful for that.

Parkside Animal Hospital is absolutely the best place to take your pet in the entire state of Indiana. Dr Johnson is the best veterinarian. Him and all of his staff take amazing care of our bulldogs. Our buddy went in for a surgery on his birthday and the staff still helped are buddy celebrate his birthday with treats birthday hat and pictures with the entire staff. the staff contacted us several times throughout the day and night letting us know how are our buddy was doing. Dr Johnson actually takes the time to explain things to you. He takes the time to get to know you and your pet (don't be surprised if he doesn't get down on the floor with your pet). I can't say enough about this place truly the best Vet!!!

I can not say enough wonderful things about the vets and staff at Parkside. From the front desk staff, to the vet-techs, the quality of care can not be matched anywhere else. We have used both Dr. Havens and Dr. Johnson and have been nothing but satisfied. We have taken all of our animals to them for the past 6-7 years, and are confident in their care for the animals, and love the personal touch they give to us as pet owners. We have had several animals with medical issues that needed a referral to a specialty vet for surgery (at Purdue and in Tennessee) and Parkside was amazing at helping us get the care that we needed for our animals. Recently, we had an emergent situation, where our dog required surgery, and Dr. Craig Johnson was attentive, provided education to us, and was very knowledgable about what was happening with our animal. He made a horrible and scary situation so much better, because we knew that we could trust him, and that our dog was in the best of hands at that time. Parkside also gives back to the community through a partnership with the Humane Society for Hamilton County (an organization near and dear to us), where they provide care for animals in need. You will not regret choosing Parkside Animal Hospital as your vet!!!!

We moved to the area and needed to find a new vet for our dog. From the receptionist who took my call to our technician, Christie, to Dr. Puls, we had a fantastic experience. I had to bring my infant with me to our appointment- the staff went so far as to offer to help me get in and out the door because I had my hands full. Dr. Puls is knowledgeable yet approachable- she took the time to explain a couple of things to me without seeming rushed. Overall, very caring, accommodating, and professional staff. We will definitely be back.

We have been going to Parkside for over 10 years now and love them! The vets and the staff are extremely nice and helpful. Every time we have called to make an appointment they are usually able to fit us in that same day. Even though we have been using them for years, one event in particular sealed the deal on how incredible this vet is. About two years ago my dog was hit by a car and sustained numerous horrible injuries. We took her to an emergency vet who told us if she was stable enough to undergo surgery to save her life that if would be about $15,000 on top of the $2,000 for being in their care. Clearly we would do anything to save her life but wanted a second opinion. We called Parkside and told them the situation and they told us to send over the x-rays and they would take a look. Not only did they take the time to look over her x-rays to give us a second opinion, but they also reached out to other emergency veterinarians to see if they could find a better price for the surgeries she needed. Unfortunately my dog did not make it through the night. Within a week we had received a condolences card from the staff at Parkside for the loss of our dog. They went above and beyond anything I could have asked for and showed how much they value their clients as well as the pets. I recommend Parkside to people all the time even if they do not live in the Fishers area. By far the best vets!

This clinic is full of loving people who care about your fur babies. I have to say this though, i had a German shepherd puppy, she would've been only 14 weeks old today. I took my puppy here and they ended up misdiagnosing her twice. Sadly, my puppy passed away. The first time I took my puppy here to get her shots, and to see why she was vomiting. I mentioned that it may be her esophagus and even brought in a sample of her puke, but both vet visits, they said she was just eating her food to fast/ sensitive stomach. My puppy passed away because she had megaesophagus, and food was not getting to her stomach. Also the second visit, they even noticed that she was not gaining any weight. Now I have to admit that the issue My dog had was very hard to detect. I am saying this because I do not want another person dealing with the death of a puppy, which could've been prevented. If you are concerned with your puppy having a large esophagus or she/he is not keeping food down, take your pup to get X-rays, or somewhere where they can get their vomit tested. Now I have to say all the staff here were very kind and polite, and this message is to only help people make the right decision for their dog! But if they had not misdiagnosed her, and the problem she had was acted on faster, she would be here today, but she is not.other than that prices are great, and they will take good care of your pup if they need shots or grooming! Would come back here.. but please if your dog is puking it may be more than just her gobbling food down to quick! Please prevent another death!

Amazing. I truly can't even think of a word that describes this animal hospital! Everyone - the doctors, assistants, and front desk - is so incredibly kind & knowledgable. You can tell their love for animals, as they treat each pet like their own. I rescued a dog from China's dog meat trade and flew him to the US and they were so accommodating and helped with his arrival, as he began to get really sick. They were helpful, efficient, and made sure his health (along with other sick animals too) was of upmost importance, and would have follow up calls every time we saw them. The facility is very clean & welcoming; the openness of the clinic is very homey and is not intimidating for animals, like other clinics sometimes are. Thank you, Parkside, you have a forever client! Highly recommend!!!

Dr. Haven is the best! I had to take my Mini Schnauzer, Roxy, in to get stitches from an accident that happened at 3am. They called me at 7am sharp and I dropped her off by 730. She's my angel, and I was terrified, but the doc and staff reassured me that she would be ok! I have the utmost confidence in them and will be taking all of my animals there, big and small! (I've taken snakes and hamsters to him, too!!) I only wish they would see birds!! Thanks for a wonderful experience, even if I'm only weighing my dogs!! :)

My absolute favorite vet of all time . They would do whatever to help you and your furry friends . They also understand the financial aspect of it too and will help as much as possible . I have never fully trusted any other vet , but I 100% trust them . My ex-husband used to work here and I got to see , first hand , how they operate from "behind the scenes" and it definitely helped me realize how wonderful they are . I took our cat in for dental reasons and am so glad I did. After receiving an absolutely crazy quote from another vet, Parkside did it and more for more than half the cost. I want to thank you for your commitment to ensuring that animals are taken care of by not overcharging people for services that are badly needed! Our cat, Jasper, is back to his old chipper self already and it wouldn't be possible without Parkside! You guys are awesome, and we continue to bring our animals to you for sure!! Edit to the original.. So my cat had complications days after his surgery. The front desk staff was amazing about getting him in asap, our vet Dr Puls has made our scary situation much easier with her super charismatic optimistic energy! She took the time to investigate all possible diagnosis and didn't recommend any unnecessary pricey alternatives. I'm so glad she tends to our animals and highly recommend her for yours!

Dr. Havens is great! Very friendly and professional. If you keep any exotic pets (not sure what all they take, but they happily checked out my snake!), I highly recommend him! I thought I might have an issue with mites on my ball python, but thankfully it wasn't that, and price-wise I feel like that was reflected! Very, very fair pricing and from what I experienced, they won't tell you that you need anything unnecessary just to make some money. They seem to truly want to help their clients, human, furry or scaled.

I had a share my experience today when I called Parkside animal hospital and spoke to Brooke. I currently have a veterinarian out in Zionsville who I adore but at the same time I wanted to have a second option close to home park site animal hospital is less than a mile and a 1/2 away so I thought I'd give him a call. Just from our conversation I can tell this Facility is wonderful and has an incredible staff Brooke was absolutely a pleasure to speak too and I will visit them here in the near future!

Today we took our foster dog, Jordi, to Parkside Animal Hospital for a check up and Xrays. The staff at Parkside went above and beyond and gave Jordi a "spa" treatment and make over. He looks so much better and now he will be looking his best when he's ready for his big adoption day at Hamilton County Humane Society. Thank you to everyone at Parkside for all you did for Jordi!

In August of 2012 someone dumped off a little Black mouth Cur in our neighborhood,she was starving and very pregnant with puppies.I started feeding her to help her survive the labor and nursing the puppies.Two weeks later she gave birth to 9 puppies, all live and then I started feeding her anytime she showed up on my porch wanting food.I put her on puppy food and always made sure she had clean water and plenty of it.All of the babies were found good homes and by then I had fallen so in love with her that I told my husband that she had become my little girl.He agreed and we took her to Parkside Animal Hospital for testing ,shots,and to get spayed.She showed positive for heartworms and she had to go through the treatments but she was a little trooper and did very well.Dr. Cox and his staff were so good to her and I think they spoiled her too when she stayed at the clinic overnight.She is not afraid to go in and is very happy to see her Doctor every time.He is a very smart and loving Vet and I thank god for him every day.I tell everyone that they should start using him and they will see how great of a doctor he is.What we had to do for her would have cost alot more at any other clinic and she would not have had loving hands on her so much.This clinic is a godsend to us because they treat our babies like we do and that means everything.
