My service dog was attacked by two pit bulls Friday afternoon. I had taken him to Noahs Emergency Animal Hospital initially. They tried to pressure me a few times to euthanize him right away because I didn't have access to $1900-2400 for his throat surgery as the banks were closed until Tuesday and a gofund me page was just started to help with his care.. I gave them everything I had recieved for my monthly income. They refused to work with me even though he was my hearing service dog. They stated they would not charge me for a couple of items and they turned around and put them on my bill despite their word. $918 for an xray, an IV, pain meds, gauze around his neck, oxygen, and antibiotics. They discharged him at 1:00 PM the next day an absolutely terrible state. I felt horrible. To love him so much. To be so enriched by his love and his years of sacrificial assistance. Knowing money was robbing him of a chance. Knowing that because I was lower income, we didn't matter to Noahs. My service dog didn't matter to them. A large sum of money is all that mattered to them. Odd thing is, several vets said they normally work with people. They wouldn't with me. Granted, they have to pay for their building/equipment/supplies. I get that. However, they had no real compassion or care for me or my service dog. The animals should come first, before making a huge profit off of service fee mark ups. I am not the first person they told to euthanize their dog because they couldn't afford their fees for life saving medical care for their dog. I find this detestable and unethical. Michigan Road Animal is caring for my dog as I type this review. He is still in critical condition but showing improvements. He isn't just a dog or just a pet. He is even more than a service dog. He is my family. He is my best friend. We weren't ready to give up and say good bye. The moment I walked in the door at Michigan Road Animal, I could feel the difference. I could feel the caring vibes and warmth. There aren't any promises my furry kid will make it but I have peace knowing we are doing everything we possibly can and that he is in compassionate, caring, knowledgeable hands where my service dog actually matters more than huge profits and I wasn't made to be invisible because of money.

I had a few friends recommend Dr. Hurd when I was looking a vet for my cat, and I am so happy that I took their suggestion. We now take all of our animals there. The facilities are nice and the staff is incredible. Someone even called after one of our dogs got stitches to see how she was doing. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Been our family vet for over 25 years. They might be more expensive in some areas but they treat our pets like the family members they are. We will never go anywhere else. The groomers are fantastic. Carol is fantastic. They will do your pets checkup/shots and groom all in the same appointment. Super convenient. They really treat you like family.

The Vets are also the best I have ever encountered. Dr. Hurd has treated our dogs the whole time and provided excellent care. I found a stray kitten and took it home. After a couple of days, she had some swelling and I noticed a large open wound. After looking at it, I knew right away she needed a vet. I called 96th street for the first time and I was greeted by Jenn who did a wonderful job of finding time to bring her as well as answer any and all questions I had. I arrived at the hospital and the lounge area was very calm and had separate areas for dog and cat owners. While filling out a form which took just a minute, they took a look at the kitten and informed me that she needed stitches and gave me the quote, which was very reasonable. Dr. Fletcher worked with me to get the operation day same day and I couldn't have been happier. She truly cares for the animals and found time on such short notice to help. I will definitely be a repeat customer and if I ever have any problems with kitty, I feel completely confident that that Dr. Fletcher and her staff will do their best to help.

My Joy saw Dr. Inman for what I thought was a bladder infection that turned out to be many, many bladder stones. Joy needs someone who is calm, is willing to move slowly with her to gain trust and Dr. Inman was very patient with her and was even hand feeding her by the end of her first visit! This first visit made me very comfortable bring her back for an xray and surgery on her bladder. . Since Joy's surgery Dr. Inman has called to check on her and has taken my call providing insight on how to care for her while ensuring all her needs are met. I cannot recommend Dr. Inman highly enough. I have finally found Joy's offical and life long vet.

For peets sake what would make you think someone would pay the amount you quoted and then got the record's from medvet. I guess you thought you would get a good laugh on how you were going to milk money from me. A lot of the thing's you've quoted me for my dog doesn't need at all.

I don’t write reviews generally, but these guys deserve so much recognition. My cat, Jasper, became very suddenly ill last week. I saw these guys were close, so I called and was immediately allowed to get Jasper in to be seen. I was greeted with empathy and kindness. I was an absolute emotional wreck and I was given support and hugs. The staff was kind enough to call me a couple hours after leaving him to tell me he was improving. Jasper spent a total of three nights, and I was updated at least twice a day every single day. I was also allowed to visit for as long as I wanted, which really helped me (and I think Jasper, too). As I’m writing this, Jasper has only been home for a bit over 48 hours, but he is really showing his sweet and affectionate self again. I cannot thank Dr. Wilson and Dr. Arvin enough, nor could I ever thank the rest of the support staff enough! Although you’d never want to use a place like this because that would mean your furbaby is sick, this is where I would take mine over and over again. Thank you!!!!

I was disappointed. I have struggled to find an excellent veterinarian for my Bengal cat, Lucy. I was excited to see that this clinic was AAHA certified. Dr. Klarquist was afraid Lucy would bite him and wore giant gloves. Lucy has never bitten, she hisses and talks smack does not bite. Upon taking her to another veterinarian it was discovered she had a serious bacterial infection and a heart murmur. Again, I was disappointed.

I called the clinic on a Saturday, early afternoon and they had me bring my 12 year old cat right in. They worked us in and were very kind and professional. They took X-rays and were able to give them to me on a CD so I could consult another vet if needed. I brought kitty back to stay with them for a few days to see what more we could learn. They took excellent care of her and have called me twice since then to see how we are doing. Dr. Gustin has invited me to call with any questions and to talk about long term options for my "little girl." All the doctors here are wonderful. Dr. Wilson currently treats my pets and I would never trust any other vet (except those at Michigan Rd.) with the health and safety of my fur babies. I recently took my dog to a closer vet out of convenience. I tried for weeks to get them to take my dogs limp seriously. I disclosed he had previously been diagnosed (by Dr. Wilson) with bilateral cruciate disease and they still would not prescribe the adequate number nor mg of NSAID for him. They also would not let me order it from an online pharmacy. They wanted me to pay $200 to buy name brand from them. The first day back with Dr. Wilson, she felt a large lump that had been missed by the other doctor on his knee, got him on a balanced medical plan, and within 24 hours my dog went from not eating, walking, or moving to running around like a puppy again. I am so grateful to Dr. Wilson, the amazing caring Veterinary Technicians, and the wonderful veterinary assistants that work at Michigan Road Animal Hospital @96th st.

1.0 star rating 11/19/2016 Please do not take your beloved pet to Dr. Kristy Jacobs ever. Being first time to the puppy parenting I went to this hospital because of its good reviews. I still can't forgive myself for not checking the reviews of the vet before choosing her as our fur baby's vet. Our 11- week old little fur baby Baloo passed away a week ago due to the side effects of antibiotics that she gave me to treat his loose stools and urinary issues. When I first called them with concerns about urinary issues and loose stools I specifically asked if I have to bring a stool and urine sample. They told me that they will take the urine sample at the hospital. During his check-up she told us that his bowls feel loose and that he was not urinating by himsel,f so they could not take his urine sample. She told us repeatedly that "SHE DOES NOT WANT TO CATHETER HIM TO TAKE URINE SAMPLE BECAUSE SHE DOES NOT WANT HIM TO HATE THEM". She gave us antibiotics to treat him anyway. He became lethargic and vomited his food couple of hours after taking the medication. I am pretty sure this caused his pneumonia which took his life within 24 hours. I blame myself for trusting her so much and not checking the side effects of antibiotics she gave me. I did not know that there are so many types of pneumonia and vomiting could cause aspiration pneumonia until I saw him suffer due to these stupid antibiotics. When I saw our baby sick I called her twice and expressed my concerns. She brushed away my concerns as side effects of the antibiotics and said its not a BIG DEAL IF HE DOES NOT EAT HIS FOOD FOR A DAY and should be fine by morning. Guess what? He passed away the next morning. We could not see him suffering and took him to the ER despite her brushing away our concerns. Another doctor at the hospital took X-rays of his lungs and said that they don't look normal and he needs to be rushed to ER and put under oxygen chamber because he looks pale and is having difficulty to breath. One of the antibiotics she gave me to treat his loose stools and urinary issues are not supposed to be given to young puppies and is not FDA approved for animals. They did not tell me about this. I would have never given him these antibiotics had I read about them instead of blindly trusting the vet. Thanks to her I will never trust another doctor in my life.

Took my cat midnight here for most of her life, Dr. Hurd always took great care of her & when she passed almost two years ago now they were terrific & great with making her as comfortable as possible & myself through the whole euthanasia process. Will be calling you guys in a few weeks to see about kitten packages etc since I’m getting a kitten in a month & will be bringing them to you. When I fist got my black miniature poodle I had no specific vet to take him. My coworker suggested that I take Pharoah (my puppy) to this location. I don't regret any moment of it. The woman that work here are absolutely AMAZING. They were very informational, loving, caring and gentle with my pup. I still remember our very first visit there which means a lot to me. Although, the prices are somewhat expensive compared to other places, I don't mind because I KNOW I'm getting the best care and quality for my dog. I highly recommend Michigan Road Animal Hospital.

I have taken my cat in for grooming to the 96th street location for a long time. On May 8, 2019 I took my cat in for grooming. I requested the summer cut, but received a much longer cut. More like a winter cut. My cat always receive a potty patch, however this time no potty patch. The cut was uneven. For example, the back sides were longer and in one case not even cut. When my wife saw the results, she said this is the worst cut I have ever seen, saying the cut was uneven and did not look good. It appears the groomer was not paying attention to my request and details. I will not be taking my cat to the 96th street location for grooming. M. Richardt

We had been going to VCA to treat our kitties, and at one point our very elderly and sick baby got to the point where he was suffering, unable to walk and unable to hold his bladder and bowels and we knew it was time to say goodbye. We took him to MRAH as they were much closer and we didn't want to traumatize him with a long car ride. The entire staff was kind and very understanding of the hard decision and Dr. Inman treated him and us with all the care and respect we could have hoped for. We've been taking our other furbabies there ever since, and she's even been able to do more for our other elderly kitty who has medical problems than VCA was ever able to diagnose. I won't take them anywhere else from now on.

I really like this place. They always make my dog feel like he's the best living thing in the world when he comes to visit. I got my rescue very young and he was sickly for months. Thanks to this place, he's loving his best life! The only thing negative I have to say is that the prices should be examined for competition in the area. I went in for a weight check, one month of flea prevention, and a nail trim. It's cost me over $45. So, you do get quality care but at some point it wears on your bank account.

I recently had to put my dog down due to lymphoma. He was a young dog and also a service dog so his loss was painful in shoo many ways. The staff and my vet Dr. Kristy Jacobs could not have done Better job and handled everything with such great compassion not only for my dog and his sister but for myself keeping my needs also in the for front. They have continued to be supportive when my other dog struggled with the loss of her brother beyond what was normal and handled that with outstanding compassion. I would recommend them too anyone. I have been taking my baby to MRAH since he was 8 weeks and am so happy I did! The staff is so friendly, welcoming and helpful - they make you feel like your baby is theirs. When we walk in with our miniature schnauzer the front staff and techs welcome him by name with a "Hi" and smile!. Their boarding services are also very accommodating - I know that if he ever got sick while there, he is in the best possible place. All the doctors we have seen over the years are well-educated, have great bed-side manner, and caring. At MRAH from the front desk to the vets, you know your pet is getting the best care - loving care. Special shout out to Valerie at the front desk, who is so always so friendly, thoughtful and helpful - i feel like I've known her for years... oh wait! I have!

I took my older cat, Milo, here after he kept getting sick and I seemed to be getting no where with his previous vet. Dr. Jacobs was able to figure out why he was getting sick. She explained his condition and his medication to me. I took my other cat, Mumbles, here a few days ago for severe vomiting. He was hospitalized for 3 days. Dr. Inman and the rest of the team did a great job caring for my kitty. They called me twice everyday to let me know how he was doing. Dr. Inman didn't even charge me for his second exam.

I took my dog in to have some major dental work done and the staff was absolutely amazing. I am also a big fan of Dr. Fletcher. I had to put my dying cat to sleep last year. She and her very capable assistant Caleb helped get me through this most difficult time with their caring, and professional manner. Yesterday I took my other cat in for a check up. I was worried something might be wrong with her mouth. Dr, Fletcher checked Gabby out and gave her a perfect report for health. Staff at front desk is always friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Michigan Road Animal Hospital at Crooked Creek. We have taken our cats there for care many times, and the staff are always friendly and professional, the techs treat the animals kindly and with gentleness, competence, and patience. The doctors are great, and my wife and I have especially have appreciated Drs. Estes, Gustin, and Jacobs' kindness as we dealt with the cancers that killed two of our beloved kitties, Molly and Mr. Spock. Their willingness to give us the facts, and their understanding about the realities of our financial limitations for treatment, as well as their constant efforts to make the final months we had with our cats as comfortable and happy for the cat and for us as was possible -- all has been greatly appreciated. They are genuinely good and caring people. The doctors here do not recommend uncessary tests. Their prices are fair, and they recommend cost-effective treatment options whenever they are possible. We have greatly appreciated this as well, since while our love for our cats is boundless, or bank account is decidedly not! In short, I give them my highest recommendation, and hope it will be possible to continue taking my own pets there for years to come.
