Would have been one star if they weren't so friendly. Stupid expensive and not up front with you. Took my 12yo retriever in with a breathing problem, $600 and three visits later I had to ask if there were any possibility of him getting any better before they would tell me he would not! Yet before that they kept wanting me to bring him back once a week for more tests! I really feel taken advantage of and that they prolonged his suffering unnecessarily!

Saved three of our dogs requiring major surgeries... They also take care of our five cats and a chicken. Great Vets.. Wonderful staff.. They also board and groom. Thanks for keeping our family together.

Dr. Rex Bailey is hands down The Very Best Vet in the whole tri-state (Indiana, Michigan & Illinois) in my opinion. His knowledge, care and compassion are second to none. The staff are amazing very polite and caring and always right in the ball, you never have a response like I don't know if someone doesn't have the answer to you're question they will do their very best to help and find out. If a client needs a call back you can always depend that there will be a call back. I am so very grateful for Dr. Bailey & Michigan City Animal Hospital and it's quite a drive for me but I would drive 2 or 3 times just to be sure my furbabies are properly loved and cared for. Thank you Dr. Bailey and staff!!!

We recently took all 3 dogs, Frantz, Ulli and Thora in for their annual physicals and shots. As always, Dr. Bailey thoroughly examined all three and took his time with each one. All three passed with flying colors. There was however an issue with HRH Miss Thora and HRH Frantz- their weight! HRH Miss Thora was about 7 lbs overweight- she is supposed to weigh in around 12 lbs- not 19 lbs! We couldn't blame it on the scale either! The winter had been tough and little Miss Thora hadn't exercised like usual. Frantz on the other hand weighed in 10 lbs overweight at 110 lbs! He, unlike Thora had enjoyed the deep snow and minus temperatures. This discovery resulted in "the talk" with Dr. Bailey. We all agreed that dietary changes needed to be made ASAP and we made them! Our next appointment will be for teeth cleaning. We have been clients of the MCAH since 1992 and would never consider going anywhere else. That is by itself a testimonial to the high quality care that Dr. Bailey and his staff provide 365 days a year!

I have been to the MCAH for several years and I will never go anywhere else. There are several animal hospitals around my area but I still drive to Michigan City for several reasons. It is clean, the staff is super friendly and kind and because of Dr Bailey and the other doctors there. I just know my pets are getting the best care there and they answer my questions. I never walk away feeling like I dont understand what is happening with my pets or that they don't know the answers. That is important to me. Thank you for all you do and how much you care!! Just recently took my miniature English bulldog there upon my bro's recommendation. The entire staff and Dr Bailey were wonderful. I didn't feel rushed through so he could move on to the patient. He took the time to address and clearly explain my dog's multiple issues. Highly recommend!

This is the best facility around. The doctors are compassionate and knowledgeable. They are very thorough in their check up routines, they look for new ways to treat ailments and are cautious about prescribing medications. Steroids are not the "go to" drug in this hospital. The reception staff is not only, friendly ... they're efficient! I would have given them 10 stars.

My dog had an operation and made it only because of doctor’s magic hands. Small dog, large stones. She was in ICU and treated like a princess. It was less money then I expected, given the care she received. Thank you! That was few years ago, she is 12 now and doing great. Watch for day to day charges, however, they seem expensive

My pets have been clients of the Michigan City Animal Hospital for more than 18 yrs. I choose only the best for my pets..dogs, cats and the occasional snake. Everyone is consistent in their concern, the care and their ability to meet appointment requests. My only concern is the frequent turnover of support staff..but then that may be the nature of a fast paced Office personnel position.
