Very caring staff. Prices were comparable to the other vets that I've been to. They weren't too pushy about other services. They recommended some things, but also gave alternate options. Definitely would recommend this vet clinic! *edit* They are still by far the best. We had to let one of babies go and they were so caring. I was actually really impressed by how they handled it. We got time to say goodbye and we also go to stay in the room and hold her while she passed. All of the girls working here are very compassionate. They were always willing to help with pain meds up until we were ready to set the date. And the cost of cremation was much cheaper than I had found. If I ever needed a vet when I'm back in Indiana, I would go there. And they also deal with behaviors too.

I'm usually not one to leave reviews. However, two days ago we had to put our dog down. Unlike many scenarios where a pet has a cancer or old age has led the owners to arrive at this decision, we had a 3 year old, loving pup who was treated as another child in our home. Unfortunately, our dog had a mental health issue or other form of imbalance that caused him to be anxious to the point of being aggressive. We found this issue just after he turned a year old and worked with the staff at hillview, namely Alicea, to try to work on behaviors and train our dog even with these issues. Despite the hard work we all put in, our dog continued to get worse and with the help of the staff at hillview, we exhausted all options before arriving at the hardest one. When the day came for us to put McGregor to sleep, they were nothing but kind and patient, loving and even sad, with us. They really care about what they do, the animals they see, and those animals' people! I'm sad to say we will miss them too, maybe not forever, but for now! In the meantime, we highly recommend them.

I take my guinea pigs to this veterinarian's office and they are wonderful and the vet tech Emily who is experienced with guinea pigs is very helpful with her advice. I highly recommend this place if you have an exotic pet. They are great and priced so people can afford to take their pets to the vet.

My sweet kitty was losing weight and having breathing problems. My regular vet didn't know what was wrong. I'm not knocking my regular vet, I just wanted a second opinion, so I took him to Hillview. It turns out he has a rare cancer. Dr. Shirley presented me with all of our options and even sent his xray and ultrasound images to another vet for confimation. I opted to bring him home and make him as comfortable as I can. Hillview will continue to treat him to help him through this difficult time until the inevitable. They have been incredibly compassionate and understanding, as well as forthcoming with any information, answering all of my questions. This is an incredibly hard time for me and they have been wonderful. I would recommend them to anyone seeking a vet. Their bedside manner with my cat was great. He is usually pretty laid back, but not feeling well coupled with being in a strange place was stressful for him. They handled him with great respect. I can't thank them enough for how they have treated us. I will be returning to them for regular vet care for my other four cats, three dogs, and ferret.

We've been taking our pets to Hillview Veterinary Clinic for years. The staff is very caring. Eleven years ago, we had nine (yes, nine) cats. When we took our pets into our home, we made a lifelong commitment to them and have cared for them as they've grown old and passed. We have four of those cats left. The staff at Hillview has, at some point over the years treated each of them. Those that have passed are missed dearly and the wonderful folks at Hillview knew how much they meant to us and sent sympathy cards to us each time. They don't have an assembly line demeanor regarding what they do. They absolutely care for each and every animal.

This clinic is wonderful!! The women who work there are so caring and just love animals. It is VERY reasonably priced and you can tell how seriously they all take their jobs. They remember my bunny by name when I bring him in. They also will treat wildlife for free! I am always finding/rescuing little critters and I can rely on them to treat them and if needed give them to a licensed rehibilitator to give them the best chance possible. I love this vet clinic and will continue to take my pets there.

On January 26, 2018, one of the worst days in my life happened; our precious Greyhound, Cry Baby, at 11, passed away from cancer. Greyhounds are stoic by nature and we had no idea there was a problem until her nose started bleeding and her eye started bulging a bit. We chose Hillview Veterinary Clinic because one of the vets owns Greyhounds and understands their special needs. (They are unlike any other breed in terms of vet care.) Greyhounds have notoriously bad teeth so that was the belief that was causing the problem. We took her in at 8 for her surgery, at 1:15 we were called, by the vet personally, and told it was cancer. We picked her up around 3, after her anesthesia wore off. When we picked her up, they brought us into one of the rooms where she went over everything with me and then held me as I cried. The Jennifer gave us her personal cell number and sent us home with steroids to strengthen her appetite with instructions to call her if we needed her. I’m sure she knew what was coming. At 7:15, she had a grand mal seizure so we called the vet who wasn’t close enough to get to us so she sent another one who went to the clinic and got the necessary medications and came to our home to put her to sleep. We were all able to be with her and hold her as she fell asleep and went over the rainbow bridge. I’m sobbing as I write this. She’s been gone for 18 months now and I still miss her desperately. I don’t know of another veterinarian office that would care so much about one of their patients that they would: 1. Find out who was closest to us to come out after the clinic closed 2. Went to the clinic to get the necessary meds 3. Come to our home 4. Let us love one her for as long as we needed before she gave our girl her relief from pain and 5. Stepped away and waited, quietly, until we told her we were ready for her to take our girl with her and finally, 6. Gave us the final honor of carrying our Baby to her car to go to be taken care of. We only had 12 hours, HOURS, to try and wrap our minds, our hearts around the diagnosis of cancer and then to lose her so quickly...it was beyond comprehension for me. She was a very special girl and Hillview knew that as well. They were kind and loving and adoring every single time we went there. They loved it when we came, as did anyone else who happened to be there as most people don’t see Greyhounds in person too often. When I went to pick out her urn, they were loving. When I picked her ashes up, they were loving. We received a beautiful handwritten card from them, not just a condolence card with their names written on it but each one wrote something sweet about our girl and about an encounter they had with her or about how she brightened their day when she came in. They are an AMAZING clinic! Now! Since I’ve written all about my precious Baby, we also had a sugar glider, Charlie, we took to them and they loved him as well, treated him the same way they did Baby. We also have Hobbes, our orange tabby. They love and treat him the same. Although, I will say I think they may have had a softer spot for Baby...although everyone did when they met her. She was just that special. I know this is long. I pray you read this to the end and that any negative comments must have caught someone on a bad day because over the years I have NEVER had a bad experience with them and they loved every single one of our fur babies and were kind and patient with us. Jennifer and her clinic, Hillview, are wonderful. If I could give them more than 5 stars or use better words to express just how special, loving, caring, and wonderful I would, but I don’t think it’s possible. Thank you Jennifer and Hillview. Thank you.

I took my son's turtle because my dog got a hold of him out of his aquarium and cracked it shell unfortunately the vet saw the turtle was and told us it was not likely to survive in front of my son who is 10. This devastated him for several days. Not only that I stayed up all night working on my business and I had to deal with the turtle issue. Needless to say I was extremely exhausted and had to close my eyes when I had the chance in the waiting room. Well after paying for the treatment of the turtle who was not likely to survive I was meet outside by the Franklin police. I assume they told them I was on drugs. I am a very responsible person who owns my own successful business. I will not be returning to that vet. The people there are not sympathetic whatsoever. The police officer however was very kind and understanding. I comend the Franklin police dept for thier professionalism. I do not recommend using that vet. You will be treated with disrespect.

Brought our pet mouse in for an infection and they were very very kind and you could tell they absolutely love the work they are doing and the animals that come in. What got me was the candle at the front desk. When lit it meant someone was losing their beloved pet in the back and to please show respect. Once I saw that I knew I would always bring my pets here. Dr. Clarke and I have a history that goes back 15 years and it is too long to tell. However, in that 15 years she has literally saved 4 of my babies, 3 Yorkies and 1 Poodle mix. Two of the Yorkies are now deceased but I would not have had them as long as I did without her. Pookie lived to be 17 years plus and Woobie lived to be 14 and a half. I still have my Moki who will be 17 this December and is very healthy and Scooter who is 14 and is battling cancer but would not be here with me if Dr. Clarke not detected the tumor in time. Besides Dr. Clarke I have seen 2 other vets at Hillview who have since then moved on. However Dr. Kylie treated Moki in an emergency situation and also had a hand in saving her as well. I worked at Hillview for 4 years in various positions so I know first hand how stressful it can be. But I can honestly say that Dr. Clarke is unbelievably amazing in her knowledge and dedication to the welfare of all the animals that come through that door whether furred, scaled, feathered, shelled or finned. So if any of you happen to have an unpleasant experience there please keep in mind that we all have had unpleasant experiences with our “human” doctors as well. Don’t turn away from Hillview until you have given the clinic a second chance because I guarantee you will not find another Vet as talented as Dr Clarke. She is truly 1 in a million and I have witnessed firsthand from working there those 4 years the miracles she has performed. So I am getting off my soapbox. If you read all this thank you!

WOW! This place is unbelievable they REALLY REALLY care about the animals first and foremost while also treating you as the human with great respect and kindness. It literally brings me to tears of happiness because i have had such terrible experiences that really stressed me and my dog out. Left me feeling so angry and hopeless. For instance my last vet was one of those who was very intelligent and gentle and loved animals but lost his humility and ability to interact with the human owner. Due to his impatience and superiority he ended up muzzling my labradoodle cause she was scared and barked at him. I can't tell you how unnecessary that was….ill never forget her eyes it terrified her. Only made the next visit worse. Of course it got unbearable for me to take her to him even though it was only 5 minutes from my house. It warms my heart to pieces every time i see sweet kind Dr, Clarke patiently address my dog Bellas fear by sitting on the floor and slowly feeding her treats to calm her…never forcing anything which really calmed me! No aire of superiority here as i have experienced as if they are the only one in the room who truly cares for the animal. She sits with me after every test and shows me the results and listens to my concerns with wonderful enthusiasm and interest. Wow I am so glad i found Hillview. All her staff have the same wonderful welcoming happy mentality which is so great to see (other offices seem like the people are miserable wishing they were anywhere else) and makes the whole visit an actually joy. Which is saying a lot because in the past i about had panic attacks over taking my dog to the vet. The facility is open and bright even smells good! Never a bad smell of pee or poop and you never hear dogs and cats screaming! Its really a marvel of order cleanliness and care that i have never seen. Its the best vet office hands down i have ever been too. I now drive an extra 20 minutes to get there but its worth every second. I literally thank God i found this place.

Although I choose this place as my regular vet, they seem a bit... Uneducated? They are great for small animals in my experience and are always friendly and helpful! But the past two times I went there, we have had negative experiences. From them failing to detect an abscess on a pet that was clearly having discomfort in the rear, which we even told them (I discovered the abscess at home that night, it had been open for a while) to not having the appropriate testing supplies to run blood work on another pet. However, they are always quick to fix any mistakes out of their own pocket, even if you take your pet somewhere else. Neither of these situations was bad enough for me to consider a different vet and this is just my personal experiences. I love this place and the good things about them always outweigh any mistakes. We have had many, many great experiences here as well, so no worries!

As a family, we've been taking our dogs here for years and never had a problem up until recently when Blair arrived. During their wellness exam, our dogs were hardly touched by the doctor or staff. Their teeth weren't examined, their ears weren't looked at, etc. The vet and her staff kept insisting on drugging them because of "anxiety", but had they made the process quick and easy there would have been no "anxiety" to speak of. Our dogs are not aggressive, and we have NEVER had to administer drugs to them to give them shots or to taks a simple heartworm test. Even after agreeing to sign a waiver to opt to not give them the tranquilizer, they still would not give our dogs a heartworm test. Absolutely ridiculous. Our entire family has been bringing our dogs here for 8+ years and will not be returning after this terrible experience. I would much rather pay three times the cost ans drive twice as far to have someone actually exam our dogs and give them the proper care that they deserve.

My cat had an issue with his kidneys. The vet stayed with my pet till 11:45pm and even called us several times to let us know the progress. That is dedication to both me the owner and our pet. Our cat is now home and recovering. With the effort that was put into watching over our pet late into the night, and updates to us the owners, I am very pleased. To bad our healthcare industry isn't as caring.

Every employee I have encountered here is so caring, gentle, and patient. They treat your furbabies like family which is so very important to me. We took our 5 year old boxer in this morning for a mass removal. I'm a wreck, Molly was anxious, and the staff were so courteous and really took care in making sure your fur baby is comfortable. They called me right after her procedure to let me know it went well and I am set to pick her up in just a couple hours. I wanted to get her ears cleaned while she was out and I think it would have been a $20 charge, but the tech called me and said when she got in there her ears were really clean so she didn't charge me. Honest people with big hearts!
